Following on from last episode, we continue our conversation with Jake Miller. Jake is like no other in the trials family. He has done it all: He's ridden, he's minded, been a mechanic, he run events, he's promoted the sport, he's even been the promoter of TrialGP series. If you haven't listened to episode 76 which was part 1 of our chat I would encourage you to do so as it will provide a bit of background to make this conversation more meaningful. In this episode we really focus in on Jake's time running and promoting the TrialGP and what his observations were. We talk about how it came about in conjunction with the FIM, and the changes Jake and the team made to make the experience consistent across events, focused for a modern audience with introduction of qualifying designed to appeal to live social media broadcasts, and real time scoring updates. Jake is clearly not the one to shy away from a challenge however when you take on large, ambitious projects there can be some bumps along the way. The introduction of Qualifying caused the riders to protest however to their credit they did eventually come around. We also hear stories of farmers holding events organisers to ransom, and other shenanigans. I hope you enjoy part two of my chat with Jake Miller. Jake Miller is like no other in the trials family. He has done it all: He's ridden, he's minded, been a mechanic, he run events, he's promoted the sport, he's even been the promoter of TrialGP series. Jake has a very unique perspective given this diversity which made for a really meaningful conversation about his background and his involvement in running the sport. Jake takes us through the work he continues to do promoting Dougie Lampkin and then the associated work in conjunction with Red Bull including the Deansgate trial in Manchester and then the Wheelie Project where he played a significant role in the Dougie Lampkin wheelie around the Isle of Mann TT course. Jake is clearly not the one to shy away from a challenge however when you take on large, ambitious projects there can be some bumps along the way. Jake takes us through the divisive decision to introduce Qualifying at TrialGP, and the drivers behind it, which caused the riders to protest. We also hear about famers holding organisers to ransom, and why buying the local constabulary can pay unexpected dividends. There we a lot to get through so I've split this into two parts. First up in part 1 we discuss Jakes riding background, the formation of his promotion company G2F media, his work early work with the FIM to run British rounds of the TrialGP. In part 2 next episode, we go into Jakes work with Sport7 that ran the TrialGP promotion and reflect on the importance for everyone involved with trials to support it's promotion. I hope you enjoy this chat with Jake Miller. It's that time again! Join me for a fireside chat with actual farmer “my mum” who will be listening to the last four episodes of the podcast and supplying insight and intrigue far beyond my own wavering knowledge. Join me for a nice talk about things! Things that include the old veg patch, wildlife conservation, mobile phones filled with straw and, unsurprisingly, beavers. We always have time for beavers! In fact mum was actually interviewed about Britain's largest rodent on BBC Radio4's programme ‘Costing the Earth'. We all have embarrassing moments we can laugh about—later. There are shameful moments that we would give anything to undo. But while our pasts remind us, they don’t have to define us.
In this episode "Our Story So Far..." continues with Part 4. If you haven't caught Part 3 yet and would like to, be sure to check out Episode 38. As the story continues we recall a few other things that happened in Phase 2 before we get into the "silent years". When we entered the "silent years", we entered a place of training and preparation for what God is using us to do now, and in the future. We also discuss the importance of finding your place of service for God. Not everything in the church is the pastor's job; God has given each one of us a unique gift that we can be using in our home church. What is yours? Many times, our faith deteriorates as our circumstances deteriorate. When that happens, our faith is quickly overcome by fear, and the future looks dark. The apostle Peter experienced this, and he temporarily fled his faith in Jesus.
In this episode "Our Story So Far..." continues with Part 3. If you haven't caught Part 2 yet and would like to, be sure to check out Episode 37. As the story continues we start heading toward the years God began training us to be pastors; there were several changes that happened, and they seemed to happen all at once. From an early age, we learn quickly to look for loopholes in the rules. We try to figure out what we can get away with and still be okay. We tend to take this same mindset into our relationship with God, but it doesn’t work. When we opt for loopholes and workarounds, we find ourselves in a category no one wants to be in: hypocrites. Jesus calls us to move beyond loophole religion.
In this episode "Our Story So Far..." continues with Part 2. If you haven't caught Part 1 yet and would like to, be sure to check out Episode 25. As the story continues our wives join us in the studio to discuss how we met, and some of the rallies and shows they did with us over the years. Whether it’s school, sports, or religion, when we focus only on the rules, it can be difficult to remember the overall purpose of something. Jesus reminds us that when we focus so much on the letter of the law, we may forget why the law was written in the first place.
Jesus ignored certain religious protocols. He claimed to have authority to forgive sin. He was uncomfortably comfortable with unrepentant sinners. In this message, we hear about three encounters that showed Jesus came to reverse the order of things.

Many times we read the Bible for application, inspiration, or direction. However, there are times when the author wants to simply point the reader to a big idea, an idea that fits together with God's grand story. In the gospel of Mark, we read about Peter's experience with Jesus that led Peter to believe in one big idea: the kingdom of God is near, and everyone is invited to participate.

Great question – particularly now, when seven worldwide business aviation trade groups have united to inform you about the dangers inherent in illegal charter, via the newly created the Air Charter Safety Alliance (ACSA). But what is illegal aircraft charter? And what do aviation’s regulatory enforcement agencies have to say about the very real – and very expensive – safety risks that arise when you sell or buy charter “under the table,” or fly on an FAR Part 91 “borrowed” aircraft. Listen in as Greg Lander, FAA Enforcement Branch Attorney; and Ryan Waguespack, NATA’s Senior Vice President; define what constitutes illegal charter, and discuss the FAA’s renewed enforcement efforts to combat it. When there’s more to be said than space and copy deadlines allow, you can rely on the Business Aviation Advisor Above and Beyond podcast series to get you the information you need, enabling you to make the most of your aviation investments.
