From Detroit's bats waking up to the A's and Rockies stealing headlines, Jake and I walk through a jam-packed slate and preview a loaded day of pitching. Show Notes (concise, from your POV): On this June 3 episode of BD Baseball, I sit down with Jake and run through a full 15-game slate: Tigers crush, Flaherty shoves, and Greene/Perez provide the power we've been missing. Gage Jump delivers seven strong in Wrigley as the A's win a tight one behind an opposite-field bomb from Nick Kurtz. Rockies step out of the basement, the Angels fall further, and Joe Adell recreates Jose Canseco with a ball off his glove and head. We talk Johan Duran's filth, John Smoltz's “no pitchers, only throwers” comments, and where we agree or disagree. Around the league: Orioles in Boston, Pirates staying relevant, Braves still a wagon, and the Giants plus Red Sox continuing to make their fans miserable. We preview a stacked pitching slate with Peralta–Kirby, Sanchez–Buehler, Burns–Royals, Cole–Gavin Williams, and Skenes–Astros, plus some first-five and total leans. Injury and transaction notes on Verlander, Jackson Jobe, Mason Barnett, Cade Morris, Civale, and Severino. New episodes of BD Baseball drop all week on Burnin' Daylight Sports. The Seattle Mariners made a historic commitment to their top prospect this week! Colt Emerson (MLB Pipeline #7, BA #7, FanGraphs #11 overall) signed an 8-year/$95 million extension with a 9th-year club option, full no-trade clause (NTC), and escalators that can push the total over $130 million. This is the largest contract ever for a player with zero MLB service time. Week in Review Highlights: Konnor Griffin (Pirates' No. 1 prospect) made his MLB debut on Friday at just 19 years old — the first teenager to debut since Juan Soto. He doubled in his very first at-bat! Long-term extension talks are already underway. Sandy Alcantara looked like his old Cy Young self, throwing a dominant 93-pitch complete game shutout for the Marlins. Jo Adell stole the show with three home run robberies in one game against the Mariners, preserving a 1-0 Angels victory in one of the most spectacular defensive performances of the young season. Blue Jays add veteran depth by signing Patrick Corbin and acquiring Tyler Fitzgerald from the Giants. Injury Updates: Mookie Betts — oblique strain (4-6 weeks) Jordan Lawlar — fractured wrist (4-6 weeks) Cade Horton — forearm tightness Johan Oviedo — arm issue? Justin Verlander — hip inflammation Hunter Brown — shoulder strain Alejandro Kirk — thumb surgery, placed on IL We also discuss early-season buzz and run a Player of the Day (POTD) poll! "I'm joking. I'm joking. I'm joking. I'm joking. I'm joking. I'm joking. Big respect. Big respect. Big respect. Big respect." So, 'The Big Suey' will hereforth be called 'Hour 1,' but not the first hour of the show, which remains the 'Local Hour,' and so the second hour is 'Hour 1,' not Hour 2, and that is because 'Hour 2' is actually the third hour, and the fourth hour is now Hour 3. Got it? Also, the best baseball play ever made was supplanted by another play over the weekend, but that play wasn't the greatest play of the weekend. Got it? We react to last night's Final Four, UConn gutting out a win over Illinois and Michigan absolutely dismantling Arizona 91-73. We then preview Monday's National Championship and tell you exactly who wins and why. Joe Adell reminded the MLB world that defense is an art form, and we've got three receipts vs the Mariners. Plus, the NBA MVP race, we're picking a side and we're not hedging. West Coast bias. Sharp takes. All of it this week on Big Ben and K Winn. Finish Your (Easter) Brunch (4.5.2026): Yes, I took the morning off and attended Sunday service with the family, but I'm still here with your daily dose of Black baseball highlights. The story of Saturday had to be Jo Adell's hat trick of home run robberies. The last one on JP Crawford was unreal. Adell is known more his power, but he is proving he can flash the leather in right field. Congratulations are in order for CJ Abrams. His twelve RBIs in the Nats' first seven games is a modern-day franchise record. Kudos to Justin Crawford for the first stolen base of his MLB career. Jordan Walker (STL) and Cam Smith (HOU) both hit homers on Saturday. Jack Flaherty (DET) and Kumar Rocker (TEX) both had solid outings on the bump. All of that and more on Easter Sunday. Finish Your Easter Brunch.

In this episode of Grief Out Loud, we talk with Adell Coleman about her mother who was killed when Adell was just 24 years old. Adell reflects on the closeness of their relationship and how her mom's death radically shifted her sense of safety in the world. She shares how the circumstances around her mother's death, including being the person who found her, has made it difficult to remember how her mom lived, without reliving how she died. Adell also talks about what it's been like raising two daughters who never met their grandmother, but somehow carry her presence in surprising and meaningful ways. She reflects on anniversaries 14 years later, the exhaustion of grief, and how becoming the family "grief expert" interrupted her capacity to engage with her own grief. The conversation closes with Adell describing how community, therapy, boundaries, and creative work - including her documentary and podcast, Echoes of Her: To Mom With Love - have helped her find language, connection, and space for her grief. Carlos Adell shares his unconventional path from growing up in a small Spanish town with limited resources to running a six-figure drug dealing business while simultaneously working as a DJ and industrial engineer. After nearly dying from a heart attack at 29 while working in corporate, Adell discovered that he had been living other people's dreams—adopting identities shaped by whoever surrounded him. He reveals the powerful principle that drove both his descent and his redemption: you become who you surround yourself with. Whether it was “bad boys” leading him into crime or successful entrepreneurs inspiring his transformation, Adell learned to reverse-engineer his environment deliberately. Moving to Australia without speaking English, he rebuilt himself from scratch, applying lessons from drug dealing (understanding markets and people) and engineering (systems thinking) to create a life designed for fulfillment rather than external validation. "At M2 The Rock, we fully respect the anonymity of all 12-step fellowships. In alignment with their traditions, we do not represent or speak on behalf of any of these groups. Our mission is to share hope, not affiliation."About M2 THE ROCK - MICHAEL MOLTHAN:I'm Michael Molthan, host of The M2 The Rock Show—one of the fastest-growing podcasts and shows on self-improvement, mental health, addiction recovery, and spiritual transformation. I'm so grateful you're here.I started M2 The Rock in 2017 to bring you conversations designed to make you happier, healthier, and more healed. Through raw and unfiltered discussions with experts, celebrities, thought leaders, and athletes, we uncover new perspectives on personal growth, recovery, and overcoming life's toughest challenges. My Story:What sets my journey apart is that there wasn't just one rock bottom—there were many. From being a successful luxury homebuilder to falling into addiction, homelessness, crime, and eventually 27 mugshots and prison, my life was in absolute chaos.Addiction was my temporary escape from childhood trauma, but it only led to destruction. It wasn't until I hit the lowest point imaginable that I finally found true freedom, redemption, and purpose. After an unexpected early release from prison in 2017, I walked 300 miles back to Dallas to turn myself in—only to be miraculously pardoned and told to “pay it forward.”And that's exactly what I've been doing ever since. My MissionI believe that rock bottom is not the end—it's a stepping stone to something greater. My goal is to redefine what "rock bottom" means by helping others rebuild their Spirit, Mind, and Body. On M2 The Rock, I speak openly about trauma, addiction, recovery, and the power of transformation. I don't shy away from topics like:✅ Trauma & Addiction – Understanding the root causes✅ Self-Sabotage & Mental Health – Breaking negative cycles✅ Codependency & Enabling – How relationships impact recovery✅ 12-Step Programs & Spiritual Healing – Finding true freedom✅ Religious Trauma & Personal Growth – Healing from past wounds"Everyone Is An Addict."Whether it's substances, work, validation, or negative thinking, we all have something we struggle with. But recovery is possible, and transformation is real.
In this installment of the Hoedown our hottake is on Adell leading the team in homeruns in the month of June!
Sarah and Adell grew up Church of God—where the hair was high, the altar calls were terrifying, and the Rapture could hit at any moment. This episode is their haunted testimony of faith, fear, and everything left behind.
This week, while Sarah's living it up in New York City, Adell is kicking off May by celebrating some serious bad seeds. In honor of the month that honors mothers, we're turning the spotlight on five women who were anything but traditional: the tormented Anneliese Michel, the mischievous Fox Sisters, the accused of the Salem Witch Trials, the rebel spirit Lilith, and Scotland's last witch, Helen Duncan. From possession to séances to legends that refused to die, these bad mama jamas shook history — and we're here for every haunted minute of it.
Brian's World with Brian B. Shynin is back to discuss the latest NFL rule changes and how they could impact the Chiefs.
