You're staying in one place, but at least it's a place you know well. Things are stable and you're content… …and very, very bored. Welcome to life in the Comfort Zone. Sure, it's a great place to be if you arrived worn out, frazzled, and feeling like you were coming apart at the seams. But after some time spent resting and getting your equilibrium back, life doesn't seem to fit quite as comfortably as a Comfort Zone is supposed to.     251. Crap is Fertilizer

    Crap is Fertilizer So, life sorta sucks right now. Here's what I know about sucky situations ... they pass. Eventually, somehow the sun shines again and life becomes less sucky. But even the crappy times can be used for your benefit. Listen up if you seem to be knee deep in crap right now: CRAP IS FERTILIZER FOR YOUR BIG LIFE. It's true. Crap is fertilizer. Last spring we bought hundreds of dollars of bagged up crap. Pure crap. Cow crap. Chicken crap. Even worm crap. WE PAID FOR CRAP. And wow, did our garden flourish. Our tomato plants grew stronger, faster and bigger because of crap. The same is true for your life. A little fertilizer is good for growth. Tough times make you stronger. Every muscle you have today is a result of being used against resistance. You want to live the BIG Life available to you as the person you were created to be ... use the crap for your good. As Coach Boyle says, IT ONLY SUCKS WHILE YOU'RE DOING IT! Embrace it, do the best you can with it ... but for heaven's sake, don't settle for it. Don't wallow in it. Don't set up shop and claim crap as your lot in life. Grow up out of it. Rise. This won't last forever. Learn what you gotta learn. Just keep getting better. And eventually you'll rise above it all and produce a major crop in your life. A crop you can be proud of. But first, crap. Right now, make the mental shift from “crap keeps happening to me” to “this crap will make me better.” While it doesn't magically clean up all the messes in our life, it allows us to focus on the positive and once again harness our own power. In Scripture, Matthew 7:7-8, it says “seek and ye shall find.” If you're seeking how your current setback or hardship can SERVE YOU, guess what you will find? Go ahead and guess. Ding, ding, ding. You're right. You will find exactly how crap is indeed fertilizer. And through it you will grow. Faster, stronger, bigger. Then really start exploring the positive options you have. Let's explore just a few options you have. New Career Have you ever considered looking for a completely different career? What are your interests? What do you really enjoy doing? Don't let anyone tell you that you have to work in the same career your entire life. Easy Job Maybe it's time to just get an easy job. One that does not take any real skills or talents. Work an easy job for a while to reduce stress and just enjoy life. Do you enjoy talking with people? Maybe a job in retail sales would be a perfect fit for you. Go Back To School Regardless of your age you could take some time off from working and go back to school. How about train for a new career? Or maybe just take some classes for fun? You could go back to school part time and work an easy job part time if you don't have enough savings to attend school full time. Travel Have you had a dream to travel or take a well needed vacation? Now may be the perfect time to pack the bags and hit the road. Leave your worries behind for a while. Have a bucket list? How many things can you check off while traveling? Start A Business Have you thought about starting your own business? Why not now? There are many businesses you can start from home with very little money. Start writing your own paycheck and never worry about getting fired again. Have a hobby you really enjoy?     I want to share the The 5-Step Plan That Will Help You Set Up the Perfect Morning Routine What is the one thing you can do to improve your life significantly? You begin by starting your day off with a morning routine. A morning routine puts intentionality in your day. It gives your morning form, design, and function. Imagine yourself traveling through each step, calm, cool, and collected. You know exactly what's needed of you and when. There are no surprises to leave you scrambling. Nor are you likely to forget what's important. If it seems intimidating to form a routine to do all these things, take heart. Really, there are only five steps you need to worry about to make your day come off without a hitch. Understand What It's All About Embarking on a new routine is hard work, especially as you work to build this routine into something which will be habitual. It's easy to go back to the old ways you've always done things, especially if you feel tired or discouraged. This is why your first step involves understanding your purpose. Know why you're striving to have a better morning, and speak these words out loud every morning when you first get up to remind yourself of them. Are you looking for higher productivity? A calmer day? More confidence? You'll need to figure it out if you don't know before beginning. Implement Your Routine in Baby Steps You can't change around your entire sleep schedule or make profound changes about your mornings all at once without burning out quickly. This is why it's important to work out a plan in advance where you know what changes you are making and when. For example, if you normally get up at 9:00am but want to get up at 7:00, you'll want to make small changes that work toward your goal. So for the first week, you might get up at 8:45 and the week after 8:30, etc... Commit to Consistency You're not going to succeed in building new habits if you don't do the same thing repeatedly. Realize you can't do this in half measures. Commit to doing this routine every single day. Work Out an Evening Routine Your morning will go better if you use it with an evening routine that sets up a regular bedtime. You can also use evenings to do prep work for the next day, such as laying out your clothes. Create Your Routine The key to making your routine is to address all of your needs. So some things you might do for physical health (exercise, eat right) while others benefit you spiritually (meditate, pray), mentally (learn, self-talk), or emotionally (journal, affirmations). The goal is to bring yourself into harmonious balance every day. Together these five steps will help you create the perfect morning routine. Now you're ready to start your day out right!     BECOMING YOUR BEAUTIFUL AUTHENTIC SELF Being authentic will show you how you can set your life priorities around what you truly want and live your life accordingly. You'll see how to show your true self to the world and enjoy the results. Lastly, you'll see how to create a compelling future that truly excites you. How to living authentically: Have there been times in your life when you felt you weren't acting like your true self? Maybe you were unsure of a situation or were lacking the confidence to reveal who you truly are. Whatever your reason, you chose to hide your real self. Personal concealment places us into an emotionally unhealthy cycle. First, we feel unsure of ourselves and this causes us to act even less authentic in the future. We may even begin to wonder, “Who am I?” Rather than spending time hiding from the world, you'll flourish by revealing your true self to others. Becoming more authentic in your interactions is definitely possible. Commit to increasing your personal authenticity in these ways: Monitor your feelings closely. When you know and understand your own emotions, you'll be less likely to behave in ways that contrast with your feelings. Mindfulness will help you tremendously in your quest to be more authentic. Stay in the moment and consider what is going on in your world in the present. Give yourself time. If something happens and you're unsure of how to react or respond, it's okay to not react at all. Allow yourself some moments to consider the situation. If you feel pressure to respond, saying something like, “I'm not sure how to respond to that,” can be your best line of action until you're more confident in your reaction. Catch yourself being inauthentic. When you realize you've been less than honest in a given situation, it's okay to say, “Wait a minute. I changed my mind,” or “Maybe I'm not as sure about this as I thought.” Remind yourself that you have permission to alter your response to anyone and anything at any time. Then, choose a route that's more in line with how you honestly feel. Notice what situations prompt you to be disingenuous. Being insincere or untruthful each time you're around your in-laws or your supervisor, for example, will reveal where your insecurities lie. Do some self-reflection to determine why you're behaving this way around that person or in that particular situation. Be authentic with others to increase your level of confidence. The ability to be open and honest shows that you like and accept yourself and you're self-assured. Avoid being afraid or too timid to show others who you really are. Self-confidence goes a long way!     When I was a kid I didn't think I was creative. I didn't make the elementary school choir, so I stopped singing. To this day I don't sing in church. I didn't get my art project chosen for the school art show, so I stopped drawing, painting and creating “art”. I actually love and admire those that can draw, paint, and sculpt. You know what many would consider “art”. I tried out for the school play lead and wasn't chosen, so I never auditioned again. I have sat in the audience of so many plays and admired those that performed on stage. It literally wasn't until I was an adult that I realized and learned that there are endless ways to be creative. I think that's why living the life I have while creating the life I love is so important to me. It's also why helping others do the same is my driving force day in and day out. When you write a personal mission statement, determine your non-negotiables and then create a vivid vision for your future you are an artist. You stand before a blank easel with every color and medium known to man. Actually, you have the ability to create colors that have never been seen before. You are the artist of your life! By truly embracing yourself, experiencing life for the first time again you're able to embrace life with excitement, gratitude and positivity! What are your favorite things about your life?
