On this episode of The Marketer's Journey, I interview Megan Lueders, CMO at Silicon Labs. Silicon Labs is a transformative company in the semiconductor space, and focused on building a smarter more connected world. As a tech company, their marketing has always been product focused but today we explore how the buyer journey is transitioning and the acceleration of digital has driven a need for content marketing and other touchpoints for product driven businesses. We also discuss Megan's career journey and how she used a six month sabbatical to focus on her family, but also refocus on herself and understand what she needed in her career. Any buyer journey starts with a customer saying “give me something that will be of use to me” and Megan took a similar approach to her career, assessing opportunities for value, fit and holding out for the right opportunity.Check out this and other episodes of The Marketer's Journey on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Stitcher, and Google Play! Key takeaways from this episode:You can balance being a career driven leader and a family person. It needs to be a good match and a good partnership.Even when your company is product driven, it can't be as simple as “these are our products, buy them from us”, especially during these turbulent times when things are less certain, you need to connect with customers and potential customers in increasingly different and digital ways.Learn more about Silicon Labs here: https://www.silabs.com/Learn more about Megan here: https://www.linkedin.com/in/meganlueders/

Are you a therapist thinking about making the switch to coaching? Maybe you want to be known for something you care deeply about and get to help people all over the world with that thing. Switching to coaching can be part of making that possible. How do you start? What does that transition look and feel like? If you make that switch, what will people think? Don't people think coaches are flakey? Will they think that about you? This week I'm talking to someone who did all that and built a profitable and joyful business over the past five years. My guest is Megan Hale, Profit First®️ Business Strategist, Former Psychotherapist, and Money Mentor for equity driven entrepreneurs. Here's some of what we talked about: Realizing she wanted to switch from a therapy practice to a coaching practice Dealing with people who didn't understand her decision to leave therapy behind Getting started with her first coaching offer The questions she asked herself to get clear on her vision of success. Choosing money as her niche Her programs for helping entrepreneurs with their money, including The Money Map How she runs her community calls Now I'll loop back to some takeaways that particularly stand out to me. Takeaway 1: You've got to get clear on the vision for your business and perhaps do some deep inner work: Megan knew she didn't want to open a new therapy practice every 3 years. She had woken up her entrepreneurial spirit and discovered that coaching was a way she could create a business she could take with her anywhere. Knowing her vision allowed her to make the right choice for her even though other people didn't really see it. She was able to get through the self-doubt by doing some deep work. Takeaway 2: Find your definition of success: For Megan, it was important to stop chasing 6 figures. That was the definition of success she kept hearing about. Then she asked herself what her dreams were and what they would really cost, and she came up with her own number. Takeaway 3: Find the most easeful path to get there. Megan couldn't run her business in a complicated way because she was raising 2 little ones and had to work only 10 hours a week. Even if you don't have that constraint, look at what your most important goal is and the most efficient and easeful way to get there. Force yourself to simplify your business. Adding more offers or more marketing tactics doesn't mean your business is stronger. It might just mean it's more complicated. Show notes at http://rebeltherapist.me/podcast/145

Here’s a little secret. Your vote in this election doesn’t count. The person who occupies the White House for the next 4 years is not going to significantly change your relationship your spouse, how you interact with your children, or where you go vocationally. The choices you make in how you transform your relationships will have significantly more impact on your life over the next four years than the ballot you cast. We need to figure out how to make these decisions on firm footing, however. For Megan and me, we found that when we looked to the user manual God gave us (the Bible) for how we should conduct our lives, we found healing from our previous poor decisions and marriage transformation. We found that when we surrendered to God, three things started to happen. 1. My deficiencies became less significant. Rather than being riddled with shame and guilt, I found grace and peace.2. I learned to love the right way. As I realized that I’m a broken person, I was able to begin loving others, including my wife, with more grace and acceptance.3. I began to see truth. Even if someone is not a believer in God, the principles set forth by Jesus for how we should treat one another are universal. These truths are now our guide for how to navigate life, and that reduces the importance of each of our opinions.

Milk Trails: A Journey In The Out-Of-Hospital Birth Experience

For Megan’s first child, she planned to give birth in a birth center with her husband, doula and team of midwives. However, as is the nature of parenthood, the best laid plans can often go awry. In early labor, Megan transferred to the hospital where she had an unmedicated vaginal delivery. Her early postpartum phase was difficult – riddled with anxiety, sleep deprivation and feelings of grief, as she mourned the loss of her pre-baby self. Much of this she felt had to do with a lack of preparation and support for this time with a newborn. A little over a year later and expecting her second child, Megan was determined to prepare as best she possibly could for the birthing experience she had always wanted.

In this episode, they explore what it's like to be women in the workplace. While one might think they would have very different experiences, this episode highlights the fact that, as women, we are very much together in this fight for equality and are often impacted in similar ways. And, if you grew up in a home with such a painting, or paintings, would you be able to turn a blind eye to it? Would you just accept that strange things happen after the lights go out, and the oil paint ghosts crawl out of their frames? For Megan, her haunted childhood home also contained haunted portraits, and it caused her to grow into someone who is really not afraid of anything.Find out more about our guest Megan O'Russell, who is a YA fantasy author and also a podcaster, by visiting our show notes at homespunhaints.com/episode26Support the show (https://patreon.com/homespunhaints)

Part two of our exciting podcast with veterinary nurse, Megan Brashear. Megan is talking about her two cats, one abandoned, polydactyl barn cat and a Seinfeld-character-look-alike brown tabby. Her cats are loosely domesticated as she describes them herself. In her words, cats would benefit from another 50k years of evolution. Also, if you need tips about driving around the country with a menagerie of pets, call Megan (as she has just endured and survived that adventure). Megan has a lot of responsibility for training the next generation of veterinary nurse students and loves to talk about the future role of veterinary nurses. For Megan, the most important to do is to get recognition and making veterinary nursing a true recognized profession including proper licensing and enough credentialed schools. In Megan’s opinion, there are very specific tasks that can be done by veterinary nurses with proper education. Megan shares a couple of ideas for a great future for vet nurses in your practice. Last but not least, we have to retrain our brain to be positive. That means I am always assuming good intent, remember the good things that happened and accentuate the positive in your life! You are allowed to vent but don’t do it at work! What a great episode.

Author of You Are Enough: 5 Steps To Move From Struggle To Strength, Licensed Mental Health Therapist, Transformational Mindset Coach, Podcast Host of The Blonde Bombshell and Veteran, Megan Fenyoe, opens up about the time in between her clients, when she was on her office floor hysterically crying and in the grips of a narcissistic abusive marriage. She talks about the love bombing from her ex that urged her down the aisle in a beautiful Napa wedding within 12 months of meeting each other, the shift in control that happened almost instantaneously once they were married and, unbeknownst to her friends, continuing a relationship with her ex-husband after his affair and even after they were separated. This is a story of following the invisible nudging that insists you are meant for more. It's a journey of listening closely and not stopping until you get it right. For Megan, she thought the nudge was to leave Northern California for San Diego, to leave her job and breakout on her own and, the reality is, this was part of it but it wasn't all of it. The nudging that was the hardest but most pressing call to heed was cutting the cord from her ex-husband once and for all, finding closure in her own way—by closing the door on who she was when she was with him—and taking the necessary steps to own her life.—Use CODE “thankyouex” for the month of December on all Chelsea’s coaching services: www.breakupward.com/shopReceive your chosen self-development book with one of Chelsea's signature love letters, when you write an iTunes review for Thank You Heartbreak.
