Then we're getting a lil” more personal: dating apps, first dates, green flags, icks, and everything in between. Old friends. After a spotlight was cast upon the female friendship dynamic in The White Lotus Season 3, we have some thoughts. Are old friendships toxic, or are their sometimes fraught, no BS nature the very thing that makes them the most valuable? Plus, what makes a politician? When Peter Dutton received troubling news minutes before the first Australian Leaders debate, a subsequent discussion emerged. When does a personal crisis trump the requirements of a role and exactly what does it take to be a leader? Finally, astroturfing. No, this doesn't relate to Holly's garden but the manufacturing of public smear campaigns against celebrities, disguised as organic content. Holly, Jessie and friend of the pod Amelia Lester discuss the internet's latest celebrity victim – and what's behind her takedown. We close out #PrisonMarch 2: Second Offense with an interview with someone who there at New World from the very beginning: editor Barbara Pokras! After graduating from USC (where she went to school with Dan O'Bannon with whom she would work on RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD), Barbara found her way to Roger Corman's newly-formed New World Pictures, where she went to work dubbing voices and assisting director Stephanie Rothman on New World's first ever movie, THE STUDENT NURSES. From there, Barbara worked on a variety of movies Roger shot in the Phillipines, like NIGHT OF THE COBRA WOMAN, THE HOT BOX, and THE BIG BUST-OUT! We discuss what it was like to work on those movies, how Barbara worked her way up to joining the Editor's Union and landing a job at Cop Rock, the short-lived police procedural musical, and why it was her favorite job. We also discuss I ESCAPED FROM DEVIL'S ISLAND, TOO HOT TO HANDLE, and why Wonder Woman was not her favorite project to work on. We could not have been more thrilled to talk with Barbara Pokras, one of Corman's original film school graduates, and we know you'll love our discussion as much as we did! And when you're done, don't forget to pick up her book, Feeding Mrs. Moskowitz, here. Isaac joins Drita on the set to discuss the grueling casting process of Too Hot To Handle, and what really happened behind the scenes with Courtney when they broke up. Drita calls Isaac a “good looking bastard” and tells him how to pick up any girl in a club, as well as why she had to box in a few noses over the years. They discuss how the filming and release strategy of Mob Wives was entirely opposite of Too Hot To Handle. Why does nobody call the cops or get sued on Mob Wives? Who is Uruguay? How did Drita get the nickname "Johnny Jugular"? Isaac talks about his new gig as a DJ at The Palace in New York City, while Drita reminisces about her gig with French Montana. Congrats, Christine and Nigel! What a beautiful love story between two people we know so much about. The Perfect Match season 2 will honestly go down in TV history as one of the worst finales ever but that doesn't mean we had any less fun talking about it :) Perfect Match is truly about one couple finding love and everyone else trying to sabotage that love and refusing to vote fairly of sheer jealousy. What a ride!Important notes: 1) We were right and we told you so that Harry kissed Melinda and she was telling the truth! 2) Stevan and Alara deserved to win, and the fact that their housemates were too jealous to vote for them is just a testament to their love 3) We deserve a reunion episode where all the couples have to tell us how they broke up. It's the least they can do for us after this finale!
