Heather Mac Donald Discusses her Recent Articles. White Culling and Phantom Racism The Eric Metaxas Show Heather Mac Donald Mar 24 2022   Heather Mac Donald looks into how the left is distorting the present and rewriting the past with "white culling" and "phantom racism," prevalent now in our national institutions, including museums like the Art Institute of Chicago and the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The Eric Metaxas Show- https://metaxastalk.com/podcasts/   The Diversity Delusion: How Race and Gender Pandering Corrupt the University and Undermine Our Culture Sep 4, 2018 by Heather Mac Donald By the New York Times bestselling author: a provocative account of the attack on the humanities, the rise of intolerance, and the erosion of serious learning America is in crisis, from the university to the workplace. Toxic ideas first spread by higher education have undermined humanistic values, fueled intolerance, and widened divisions in our larger culture. Chaucer, Shakespeare and Milton? Oppressive. American history? Tyranny. Professors correcting grammar and spelling, or employers hiring by merit? Racist and sexist. Students emerge into the working world believing that human beings are defined by their skin color, gender, and sexual preference, and that oppression based on these characteristics is the American experience. Speech that challenges these campus orthodoxies is silenced with brute force. The Diversity Delusion argues that the root of this problem is the belief in America's endemic racism and sexism, a belief that has engendered a metastasizing diversity bureaucracy in society and academia. Diversity commissars denounce meritocratic standards as discriminatory, enforce hiring quotas, and teach students and adults alike to think of themselves as perpetual victims. From #MeToo mania that blurs flirtations with criminal acts, to implicit bias and diversity compliance training that sees racism in every interaction, Heather Mac Donald argues that we are creating a nation of narrowed minds, primed for grievance, and that we are putting our competitive edge at risk. But there is hope in the works of authors, composers, and artists who have long inspired the best in us. Compiling the author's decades of research and writing on the subject, The Diversity Delusion calls for a return to the classical liberal pursuits of open-minded inquiry and expression, by which everyone can discover a common humanity. Read more Other Formats: Audible Audiobook , Hardcover , Paperback   The War on Cops: How the New Attack on Law and Order Makes Everyone Less Safe Sep 19, 2017 by Heather Mac Donald  ( 1,517 ) Violent crime has been rising sharply in many American cities after two decades of decline. Homicides jumped nearly 17 percent in 2015 in the largest 50 cities, the biggest one-year increase since 1993. The reason is what Heather Mac Donald first identified nationally as the “Ferguson effect”: Since the 2014 police shooting death of Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri, officers have been backing off of proactive policing, and criminals are becoming emboldened. This book expands on Mac Donald's groundbreaking and controversial reporting on the Ferguson effect and the criminal-justice system. It deconstructs the central narrative of the Black Lives Matter movement: that racist cops are the greatest threat to young black males. On the contrary, it is criminals and gangbangers who are responsible for the high black homicide death rate. The War on Cops exposes the truth about officer use of force and explodes the conceit of “mass incarceration.” A rigorous analysis of data shows that crime, not race, drives police actions and prison rates. The growth of proactive policing in the 1990s, along with lengthened sentences for violent crime, saved thousands of minority lives. In fact, Mac Donald argues, no government agency is more dedicated to the proposition that “black lives matter” than today's data-driven, accountable police department. Mac Donald gives voice to the many residents of high-crime neighborhoods who want proactive policing. She warns that race-based attacks on the criminal-justice system, from the White House on down, are eroding the authority of law and putting lives at risk. This book is a call for a more honest and informed debate about policing, crime, and race. Read more Other Formats: Audible Audiobook , Hardcover , Paperback , Audio CD   Are Cops Racist? Jun 16, 2010 by Heather MacDonald  ( 83 ) $13.49 False charges of racial profiling threaten to obliterate the crime-fighting gains of the last decade, especially in America's inner cities. This is the message of Heather Mac Donald's new book, in which she brings her special brand of tough and honest journalism to the current war against the police. The anti-profiling crusade, she charges, thrives on an ignorance of policing and a willful blindness to the demographics of crime. In careful reports from New York and other major cities across the country, Ms. Mac Donald investigates the workings of the police, the controversy over racial profiling, and the anti-profiling lobby's harmful effects on black Americans. The reduction in urban crime, one of the nation's signal policy successes of the 1990s, has benefited black communities even more dramatically than white neighborhoods, she shows. By policing inner cities actively after long neglect, cops have allowed business and civil society to flourish there once more. But attacks on police, centering on false charges of police racism and racial profiling, and spearheaded by activists, the press, and even the Justice Department, have slowed the success and threaten to reverse it. Ms. Mac Donald looks at the reality behind the allegations and writes about the black cops you never heard about, the press coverage of policing, and policing strategies across the country. Her iconoclastic findings demolish the prevailing anti-cop orthodoxy. Read more Other Formats: Hardcover , Paperback   The Immigration Solution: A Better Plan Than Today's Nov 30, 2006 by Heather Mac Donald, Victor Davis Hanson, Steven Malanga  ( 33 ) $24.95 Undoubtedly the United States needs a liberal and welcoming immigration policy, geared to the needs and interests of the nation. In this urgent new book, three astute observers argue that we have lost control of our southern border, so that the vast majority of our immigrants are now illegal Mexicans. Poor, uneducated, and unskilled, these newcomers add much less to the national wealth than they cost the taxpayers for their health care, the education of their children, and (too often) their incarceration. The Immigration Solution proposes a policy that admits skilled and educated people on the basis of what they can do for the country, not what the country can do for them. -----------------------------------------------------------------    Join us in our effort to free over 350 slaves. Two of the greatest travesties in American culture may appear unrelated, but they're not. They are (1) the breakdown of the family and subsequent rise in father-absent homes (2) the complete eradication of a liberal education in our nation's universities in favor of a monopoly on left-wing groupthink. From the time they step foot on college campuses, and often even before, young people are taught in no uncertain terms that oppression and victimhood are embedded in the American way of life. This message is especially geared toward women, who are sold a false notion of equality under the guise that men and women are the same, which has wreaked havoc on sex and relationships. Heather Mac Donald discusses the decline of the university and the rise of campus intellectual intolerance, the subjects of her important new book, The Diversity Delusion How Race and Gender Pandering Corrupt the University and Undermine Our Culture. She spoke at a Manhattan Institute event in autumn 2018. Toxic ideas that originated in academia have now spread beyond the university setting, widening America's cultural divisions. Too many college students enter the working world believing that human beings are defined by their skin color, gender, and sexual preference, and that oppression based on these characteristics defines the American experience. In The Diversity Delusion, Mac Donald argues that the root of this problem is the belief in America's endemic racism and sexism, a belief that has spawned a massive diversity bureaucracy, especially in higher education. In this episode, Dominic Green talks to Heather Mac Donald, a scholar at the Manhattan Institute. She is the author of The Diversity Delusion: How Race and Gender Pandering Corrupt the University and Undermine Our Culture, a scathing and accurate critique of just about everything that's gone wrong with American higher education. When she was invited to speak at Claremont McKenna College in California, student groups organised on Facebook to “shut down” the “notorious white supremacist racist Heather Mac Donald.” When she got to campus, she was moved directly to what would otherwise be called a “safe space” for her own protection. With a police escort, and more than two hundred black-clad protestors banging on the windows, she had to livestream her speech from a vacant room.

In this riveting review of the campus craziness investigative journals, writer, and lawyer Heather Mac Donald and Michael Shermer dive deep into the root causes of what has gone wrong on college campuses, in corporations, and in government agencies, over the decades that has led to a crisis in higher education … and beyond. Race and gender form the core of Identity Politics, which Mac Donald and Shermer discuss in dunking the myth that American society in general — and academia in particular — are rampant environments of bigotry and prejudice. Just the opposite is the case, as there has never been a safer and more inviting space to be than a college campus in 2018 America. The discussion revolves around Mac Donald’s new book, The Diversity Delusion: How Race and Gender Pandering Corrupt the University and Undermine Our Culture, in which she shows how toxic ideas first spread by higher education have undermined humanistic values, fueled intolerance, and widened divisions in our larger culture. Heather Mac Donald is a self-described secular conservative (she’s an atheist) who writes extensively on American politics and culture. She is the Thomas W. Smith Fellow of the Manhattan Institute and a contributing editor to New York’s City Journal. Her previous books include The War on Cops, Are Cops Racist?, The Immigration Solution, and The Burden of Bad Ideas. Ep. 133: Heather MacDonald and Judge Jeanine Pirro.First Heather MacDonald, (the Thomas W. Smith Fellow at the Manhattan Institute and Contributing Editor at City Journal), discusses why America is in crisis, from the universities to the workplace.  From her new book The Diversity Delusion: How Race and Gender Pandering Corrupt the University and Undermine Our Culture. Heather discusses how toxic ideas first spread by higher education have undermined humanistic values, fueled intolerance, and widened divisions in our larger culture. Not only is this impacting our culture, but also our competitiveness as countries such as China and India who don't assign such priorities will hire the best scientists and doctors, and are making gains in curing diseases and societal ills. Follow Heather on Twitter @HMDatMI.Then Judge Jeanine Pirro (former judge, prosecutor, politician and the host of Fox News Channel's Justice with Judge Jeanine) calls in to discuss the "dark forces that seek to obstruct and undermine the president, their ultimate goal to reverse the results of the 2016 presidential election". Judge Pirro first discusses how civil discourse is missing from our culture, including her recent experience on the television show The View, where Whoopi Goldberg had some choice words. Then Judge Pirro discusses why she is not optimistic that the FBI, DOJ and other institutions will be held to account for their attempt to alter the 2016 election, what is happening with the Mueller investigation and she answers a couple of Ricochet member questions.  Get Judge Jeanine Pirro's new book Liars, Leakers and Liberals: The Case Against the Anti-Trump Conspiracy.
