I heard a clever quip the other day about trying to take control from God's hands. God is writing the story of your life: so STOP TRYING TO GRAB THE PEN FROM HIS HAND! This applies to our work as well. Sometimes we think we are living God's plan for us in our work when we are actually just “taking Jesus with us”.  And only praying to Him to ask for blessings on what we are doing at work. How can we know when we've succeeded in FOLLOWING Christ in our work?  By changing our mindset to one of FOLLOWING, vs. LEADING.  Why not start your work day with a prayer like this: Father, today, I commit my hands to YOUR work. As you lead me, may YOUR will be done and may YOU be glorified in all I do. Amen.

It was a blessed day Through which I did pray. Mistakes were sighted, Then they were righted. I was patient with time And could sense the rhyme Of where God was leading me. Into the night I could see An old and open book. So I went to take a look. It was the book of God's word. Seeing that my heart stirred. Psalms led to John's first letter. It was at the ripe old age of 10 that Karen first sensed a call to missions. Today, looking back over a 30 plus year missionary journey that took her from Rift Valley Academy (RVA) in Kenya, where she served as a dorm mom, to a nation in Africa's north, where she served through business, to a pioneering role as a missions coach at Africa Inland Mission's US headquarters. She shares what it means to yield to God's call and to trust him with the big stuff and the small - even when you get on the wrong train and none of the other passengers speak a word of English. How have you been feeling? Do you feel like you are alone? Do you feel like there are pieces in your life that are missing and you can't put your finger on what it is? Just a few months ago, I realized that I was in this space. I just didn't know what was going on with me. I would look in the mirror and realize I didn't know who this person was, that was looking back at me. Of course, I know my name, but I started asking myself, "why am I here? what is my purpose? what makes me happy?" With us being home constantly, doing the same things constantly, I have realized (and I have heard from other moms) that we don't know ourselves or what makes us happy (pre or post children). So, I went to prayer, meditation, worship, reading, and researching to figure who I am and how I can help myself. In today's episode of The Latika Vines Show, I will share the four steps that I took to reclaim who Latika is and live life the way I desire and being happy as I grow in my career.  The 4 Steps to Discover Your Identity are:  Spend Quality Time with God  Write in your Journal Surround Yourself with Those Who Give You a Sound Mind Create a Vision Board based on your Happiness Using the four steps above can help you to transition from feeling like you are losing your identity to discovering who you are and being happy with your decisions. Remember, our happiness matters and our happiness should be our priority.
