In this "how-to" episode, we look practically at God's command to Fix your Eyes on Jesus.  Several key questions are addressed.   What does it really mean to fix your eyes on Jesus?  Why is it important?  What happens physically, and spiritually when we look at something?  Why should you fix your eyes on Jesus?  What are the eyes and ears of your heart, and how can you engage them to draw closer to God and find your destined calling?  What do your spiritual senses have to do with your destiny and calling?  Dr. Patty explains three relationships we have with Jesus that are simultaneously true.  She clarifies where can we find each truth in the bible and when is it helpful to see Jesus in these ways? The truths are:  Jesus is IN you, Jesus is WITH you, and you are IN Jesus.  She simplifies how to visualize Him related to these truths, and when and why it helps to see Him in each. Jesus will meet you in the way you most need to experience Him as one of these truths in your Experience Jesus encounter. Christ didn't just rest for us—He rested as us. This message unpacks how the Sabbath rest promised in the Old Covenant finds its fulfillment in Jesus' finished work. His “It is finished” opened the door to a new kind of rest—freedom from striving, sin, and fear. We're invited to live seated with Him in victory, entering daily into the rest He already secured.

Jesus is someone to experience, not just learned about

A few months ago, I released a podcast episode where I invited listeners into a time of guided prayer called imaginative prayer—a practice that helps us encounter God in a more personal, embodied way. Since then, I've heard from so many listeners asking for more episodes like that one. So today, I wanted to offer another time of guided prayer. This form of contemplative prayer dates back the early church mothers and fathers. When we engage in this kind of prayer, we use our imaginations to place ourselves within a scene from Scripture. This teaching invites listeners to move from belief to obedience — to live not toward victory but from the victory of Jesus. This episode is a recording from a live event of the Holy Spirit 101 workshop in which Dr. Patty is sharing the segment on Justification and Sanctification.  The sealing of your salvation is justification and the growing of your faith is the sanctification process.  She shares the metaphor of the difference between a seed and it's fruit bearing intention.  Seeds contain the fullness of their designed purpose, yet they need the right conditions to grow into healthy fruit-bearing plants.  The same is true with the Holy Spirit.  The fullness of His capability is deposited as a seed until the the conditions are ripe to release Him in and through each believer.  She shares what the Holy Spirit brings to the table and what can happen when you cooperate with Him that allow the conditions for Him to grow within you.  She leads the rededication prayer of salvation and Jesus baptizes you in the Holy Spirit, activating Him in your heart in your Experience Jesus encounter time. In this homily, preached on August 31, 2025, Dcn. Peter preaches about Jesus' love for us even in our lowest place. In prayer, we are called by Jesus to go to our lowest place, our place of weakness and brokenness, so that we can meet Him there. When we meet Him there, He sits with us, loves us, and gradually transforms us.
