In this episode of Masters in Travel, Brianna sits down with Olivia Tambosso, a luxury travel advisor whose career began on the inside of one of the world's most respected luxury hotel brands: Aman. After years in guest-facing operational roles in Morocco, Thailand, and Japan, Olivia brings a rare perspective to the travel advisor side of the industry. Together, Brianna and Olivia explore what true luxury looks like behind the scenes, from anticipating client needs to understanding the operational realities that shape a hotel stay. Olivia shares how her time at Aman taught her to communicate more clearly, advocate more thoughtfully, and view hotels as collaborative partners rather than simple suppliers. This conversation is a reminder that luxury travel is not just about beautiful rooms or impressive amenities. It is about care, nuance, relationships, and the small details that make clients feel deeply seen.
Part I: The Architecture of the Guest ExperienceLa Bottega Collective designs and produces the physical and sensory touchpoints of the luxury hotel stay, from bathroom formulations and textiles to amenities, gifting, and retail, working with 15,000 properties across 117 countries, from the world's most recognized hotel groups such as Aman and Four Seasons, to the finest independent properties such as Passalacqua and Il San Pietro di Positano. Tommaso Pacini, CEO of La Bottega Collective, argues that the guest experience is not a collection of amenities but a coherent sensory language, and that the hotels who understand this are the ones building something guests cannot find, replicate, or buy anywhere else.In Part I of this episode, Tommaso walks through how La Bottega Collective reads a property before designing a single touchpoint, why the choice between licensed and fully custom product programs is ultimately a question of time and conviction rather than budget, and how the most effective guest experience artifacts extend the emotional memory of a stay well beyond checkout.Thank you La Bottega Collective for making this episode possible. His recent projects include the Edition Lake Como, W Rome, which he credits with catalyzing what W Hotels internally called its 2.0 positioning, and the Hotel Bauer Venice, acquired out of a bankruptcy process in partnership with Mohari Hospitality and flagged with Rosewood. He is currently developing a proprietary hotel brand, with a Paris property featuring Pharrell Williams as creative director serving as its first expression.Omnam operates across the full development stack, from site identification and capital structuring through to brand selection, design intent, and operational oversight. Omnam's LPs include institutional investor Bain Capital, and Mohari Hospitality, with whom David has built a partnership centered on a shared conviction about where luxury hospitality is heading. Omnam has worked with several major third party operators, and that breadth of exposure now informs both its underwriting discipline and its decision to build its own brand from a position of genuine industry knowledge rather than ego.In this episode, Nadine sits down with David to explore what it really takes to build a multi-billion euro development platform in luxury hospitality, from navigating fundraising from institutional capital and large family offices to acquiring one of Venice's most storied hotels out of bankruptcy.INTERVIEW HIGHLIGHTSDavid's deal framework, and why any project where success is contingent on factors outside Omnam's control is a passHow the Hotel Bauer acquisition came together out of a bankruptcy process, with competing global bidders, layered political dynamics, and a timeline that tested everyone involvedUltra-luxury brand dilution and which operators are most exposed as generational wealth transfer acceleratesDavid's view on ADR stabilization, total in-hotel spend capture, and why the P&L conversation that matters most is not the one most investors are havingWhy David believes hotel operators should exit F&B operations, and what a properly aligned fee structure looks like from an owner's perspectiveThe tension at the center of building a scalable brand from a singular, heritage-driven flagship assetWhat David learned from managing institutional capitalLearn more about Omnam's portfolio here.Follow Omnam on Instagram here.

On this episode of This Week in Pharmacy, we examine three major forces shaping healthcare today: the global impact of conflict on health security, the continued evolution of personalized specialty pharmacy care, and the over-the-counter products patients rely on most. We open the show with Aman Gupta, Managing Partner, Asia-Pacific at SPAG FINN Partners, and contributor author at MedikaLife. Aman joins TWIRx to discuss his latest MedikaLife article, which argues that global conflict is quietly undermining health security by redirecting funding, attention, and infrastructure away from healthcare and toward defense priorities. As military spending rises, health systems—especially in low- and middle-income countries—face growing pressure from shrinking access, rising costs, workforce shortages, disrupted supply chains, weakened disease surveillance, and reduced emergency preparedness. Conflicts in Ukraine, Gaza, and Sudan demonstrate how attacks on healthcare systems, displacement, malnutrition, and shortages of essential medicines can rapidly turn health access into a survival issue. Aman urges policymakers to treat health as strategic security infrastructure, not as a secondary social expense. TWIRx also gives a special shout out to the Indian Pharmaceutical Association, recognizing its continued leadership and advocacy for the pharmacy profession. Next, we welcome Dr. Chris Antypas, PharmD, with Perigon Pharmacy 360, for a discussion on how specialty pharmacy is becoming increasingly personalized. As complex therapies continue to advance, pharmacists are playing a critical role in ensuring medications and treatment plans are customized to optimize patient care. We explore how technology, workflow processes, clinical expertise, and pharmacists who deeply understand specific disease states are essential to successful specialty pharmacy outcomes. To wrap up the episode, returning guest Shanley Chien Pierce, Senior Editor, Health at U.S. News & World Report, joins us to review the latest OTC medicine and health product evaluations. Top-rated products include Children's Delsym for coughs, Unisom for sleep, and Pedialyte for electrolytes, along with skincare favorites such as La Roche-Posay for retinol and Aquaphor for lip balm. A Man for All Seasons is one of cinema's great moral arguments—six Oscars, a cast of legends, and a story about conscience under autocracy that feels more relevant than ever. Mona Charen and Sonny Bunch dig into why this 1966 film became a touchstone for conservative intellectuals, what it says about people who preach virtue and then fold when it counts, and why Robert Bolt—a leftist—wrote the right's favorite movie. Most sustainability communicators don't have the title, the budget, or the C-suite access to force anyone to do anything. So how do they get things done? That's the question at the center of this conversation with Aman Singh, Director of Global ESG and Sustainability Communications at Kenvue—the company behind Tylenol, Neutrogena, Aveeno, Listerine, and a long list of other household names. Aman has spent her career figuring out how to move organizations from the inside—at Walmart, at Edelman, and now at Kenvue—and her answer isn't what most people expect. It's not about better data, sharper messaging, or more compelling reports. It's about relationships, timing, and learning to speak other people's language before you ask them to speak yours. In this episode, we get into what "influencing without authority" actually looks like in practice, why the old volume-equals-visibility playbook is finished, how to navigate the current era of greenhushing without hiding in fear, and what makes sustainability communicators effective versus annoying. We also talk about our shared career paths—journalism, agencies, consulting—and what it really means to build a purposeful career in a field that didn't exist when most of us started. If sustainability communication is your full-time job or your side hustle, this one's for you. Craig Unger explains the infrastructure of the alleged treason, focusing on the Safari Club, a group of high-level intelligence officials who conducted "off-the-books" operations after the CIA faced congressional crackdowns in the 1970s. Bill Casey utilized this shadow network, employing his close friend John Shaheen as a "cutout" to facilitate meetings with Iranian arms dealers without attracting media attention. Unger reveals that the Hashemi brothers, who were ostensibly helping the Carter administration negotiate for the hostages, were actually double agents working for Casey. This covert channel was further supported by Israeli military intelligence (Aman), which confirmed that source Ari Ben-Menashe was indeed an operative and that a secret arms channel existed between Israel and Iran. Unger argues that Israel's participation in sabotaging the American election was a significant secret they went to great lengths to hide. The operation reportedly involved money laundering through front businesses to finance the illegal arms deals. (5/8)1920 BUSHEHR

Instead, nearly 80% of hotels across the eleven US host cities are pacing significantly below forecasts, with Kansas City operators calling it a non-event and Boston, Philly, and San Francisco not far behind. On this week's episode, Zach is joined by Edwin Kramer, Scott Eddy, and Ben Wolff to unpack what went wrong — visa friction, FIFA's extortionate ticket pricing, geopolitical headwinds, and a hospitality industry that mistook the World Cup logo for a marketing strategy. Edwin offers a sharp European perspective on why the math was always going to be brutal for international travelers, while Scott levels a familiar critique: hotels keep believing their own projections instead of doing the basic work of telling guests how to actually get to the match. From there, the conversation moves to Priceline's surprisingly sharp William Shatner TikTok play (and what booking's parent strategy says about the OTA wars), Under Canvas's CEO transition and the missing middle in outdoor hospitality, and the slow death of Spirit Airlines — a story that opens up a wider debate about whether the ultra-low-cost carrier model can survive in the US the way it has in Europe. Ben, calling in from Onera Fredericksburg, makes the case that commodity businesses can't run on razor-thin margins forever, and Edwin walks through the European low-cost graveyard nobody's talking about. The episode closes on Aman's reported move into the Texas Hill Country — a development Ben sees as the ultimate validation of a market he bet on years ago, and a signal that ultra-luxury is now defining itself by space rather than density. Plus spice of the week: Instagram's new metrics hierarchy, why most brands still can't do basic marketing, and Edwin's pitch to the next generation of hoteliers. Explore Raina Music: https://rainamusic.com/ Connect with Vikas: https://www.linkedin.com/in/vikassapranyc/ Connect with Zach: https://www.linkedin.com/in/zacharybusekrus/ Apply to join the Journey Alliance: http://journey.com/alliance/ — In just a moment, you'll meet Vikas Sapra—DJ, tech founder, and the guy who's quietly rewiring how the world's best hotels and restaurants think about sound. Vikas has played for A-list celebrities like Jay-Z and Kanye, just to name a few. He's collaborated with Mark Ronson and Questlove. He's the rare DJ who can play a rock set on Friday, an R&B crowd on Saturday, and a Brooklyn warehouse the weekend after that. And at every venue he's played, the GM said the same thing: “Dude, take over our music. What does it take to get you full-time here?” Well, after the hundredth time of being asked, he did. And that's how Raina was born. Today, Raina powers the sound in over 600 hospitality spaces—from Bishop's Lodge in Santa Fe, to The Moxy in the East Village, to José Andrés' restaurants, Tao Group's rooftops, Auberge properties, and so much more. They're a preferred vendor for Hyatt, and they're doing something no one else is doing. They're combining a DJ's ear, an operator's mindset, and a tech founder's instinct for what to build. Vikas's thesis is sharp: music isn't decoration—it's a behavioral lever. The right tempo changes dwell time. The right familiarity changes the average check. And most operators, even the great ones, still treat it as an afterthought. This conversation is about how he's changing that. Kirill Karabits and the orchestra whose Principal Conductor he was for 15 years, the Bournemouth Symphony, have recorded the opera Esther by Thomas de Hartmann (1885-1956). Written in Paris during the last years of the Second World War, and completed in 1946, Esther is based on the play by Racine which in turn draws on the biblical Book of Esther and tells of Esther's intercession to her husband King Ahasuerus on behalf her fellow Jews living in Persia. The episode is celebrated in the Jewish holiday of Purim every spring. Released by Pentatone, the opera features Corinne Winters in the title role, Yuriy Yurchuk sings Assuérus, Andrew Foster-Williams sings Mardochée and Bernard Richter is Aman. RuPaul's Drag Race Season 18 Eps 13+14 Recap Aman Adwin and guest host Matt Liguori break down the buzzy double-header of episodes 13 and 14. With surprises still fresh and the finale in sight, the duo dives into the shock elimination of Jane Don’t, shifting fan favorites, and the race to snatch the crown. Strategy, judging, and runway looks take center stage, along with questions about what “fairness” really means on RuPaul’s signature reality show. From discussing the unpredictable boot order to debating the wild Final Five acting challenge, Aman and Matt examine how the season's narrative takes shape when frontrunners falter. They touch on RuPaul's role in judging outcomes, the ups and downs of casting choices, and what the remaining queens bring to their high-stakes performances. The hosts also react live to the puppet mini-challenge flop, dissect the infamous Karen acting scenes, discuss standout (and confusing) runway moments, and preview the big Lip Sync Lalaparuza—all with a nod to Drag Race history and memorable eliminations. Jane Don't's one-shot bottom placement and sudden exit, sparking debate about consistency and competition fairness. The Final Five's “Karens Gone Wild” acting challenge and why it split opinions on skill, editing, and what RuPaul values. Riveting dialogue about whether track record or lip sync prowess should matter most at this stage of the game. In-depth dissection of stand-out runway looks—Mikey's celestial design, Darlene's irreverent spin, and Juicy's golden drag. Real talk about emotional exits, who's poised for the crown, and which queens might slay All Stars if not this season. With new front runners emerging and the legacy of eliminated queens still sparking conversation, who will rise above the chaos and capture RuPaul's approval in the final episodes? The episode becomes a celebration of community and queerness, but also delivers plenty of opinions about this season's judging choices. With the theme of “drag family resemblance” under scrutiny, the hosts dig into what makes a true makeover—both inside and out. Beth and Aman look at each queen's approach as they match drag and rodeo energy, focusing on how these partnerships show new sides of masculinity, femininity, and performance. They highlight Michael's emotional return to his feminine side, the camplike fun of the reading mini-challenge, and the different interpretations of what counts as “family resemblance” on the main runway. From glam mishaps to standout presentations, the discussion examines which pairs truly shine and which miss the mark. Listeners hear stories about growing up queer, playing dress-up, and forming connections in unlikely places. Juicy Love Dion and Lucy's teamwork, including balancing makeup for different face shapes Discord Adams and Harmony's “Clueless” pink-and-black look, plus debate on whether the judging fairly valued their concept and presentation Nini Coco's caterpillar-to-butterfly story, with questions about execution and runway storytelling The rodeo cowboys' willingness to embrace drag, and reflections on how diverse queer identities intersect in surprising spaces Strong opinions on how the judging panel applies (or ignores) the “drag family” brief, sparking questions about fairness and consistency How do you define drag family resemblance, and did the judges apply their own standard? RuPaul's Drag Race Season 18 Eps 10+11 Recap RuPaul's Drag Race season 18 brings double the drama as hosts Beth Dixon and Aman Adwin recap episodes 10 and 11, diving into a design challenge packed with strategy and creative chaos, and a roast that tests the queens' wit. With tributes to Safety Pin Gate and special appearances by Alyssa Edwards and guest judge Iman, the season's competition intensifies as frontrunners and wildcards jockey for a spot in the finals. Beth and Aman break down the queens' approaches to the design challenge, where contestants must create looks from materials left by eliminated queens—sparking heated debate over Discord's controversial use of safety pins and the blurring line between cleverness and rule-bending. The hosts explore the shifting winner's edit and why Jane, despite her dominance, may not have the crown secured, as they weigh in on the production's preference for dynamic story arcs over clear steamrolls. Catch analysis of stand-out performances in the roast, where each queen faces the challenge of landing jokes and building characters, and how moments of self-doubt and bold reinvention shape the competition. Beth and Aman's insights and highlights: Discord's rule-pushing “Safety Pin Gate” and the panel's debate on what counts as fair innovation Jane's patchwork gown that turns sabotage into strategy, igniting conversation about editing and winner equity Darlene's roast performance that leans into wackiness, showing the value of owning one's nerves on stage Reflections on Juicy's growth journey through the lens of her lip sync assassin status—and why personal struggles matter in the Werk Room A thoughtful conversation around Nini's social navigation, neurodivergence, and group dynamics among queens As the queens prepare for the cowboy-themed makeover, Beth and Aman question whose drag can truly translate and wonder if Discord's brand of disruption will carry her further.
