→ Watch on YouTube → Detailed Show Notes → Timestamps: (00:00) A brief overview of these chapters.(06:04) The Lord covenants to make Israel a peculiar treasure, a kingdom of priests, and a holy nation. Time, pressure, and heat create jewels.(14:07) The cultural context of Exodus 19.15. Our doctrine is that intimacy and having children is holy and good within the bonds of marriage.(15:08) The greatness of the glory of God requires transfiguration for individuals to enter into his presence.(17:14) D&C 84 adds that Moses was preparing Israel for temple covenants to bring them into the presence of God.(20:13) The Lord reveals the Ten Commandments.(28:34) Rhymes to easily remember the Ten Commandments.(33:37) An example of a modern day set of Ten Commandments.(52:06) Additions to The Ten Commandments are found in chapters 21-23, The Covenant Code. There are conflicting messages in the Bible about slavery.(59:26) The Israelites accept the covenant and ratify it. The Joseph Smith Translation clarifies the ambiguity in the Bible about whether or not God can be seen.(1:02:55) As we are willing to receive light, we will receive more light.(1:07:32) The Tabernacle is planned. Elder Bednar encourages us to discuss the temple more often.(1:13:49) Symbols of Christ in The Tabernacle portray our journey back to our Heavenly Home.(1:19:56) Artisans furnish The Tabernacle. The Lord doesn't give a commandment without preparing a way for it to be accomplished. The talents we posses are part of God's divine plan.(1:23:46)The Sabbath Day is observed. We need to rest and be refreshed. (1:24:49) Aaron makes a golden calf for Israel to worship while Moses is on the mountain. The Levites enact violence against the apostates.(1:32:59) When the Kingdom of Israel splits around 921 BC, Jeroboam constructs golden calves in Dan and Bethel. The story of the golden calf may be a message to Israel casting Jeroboam as an apostate king, perhaps portraying a theological rift after the schism in Israel.(1:34:46) The bull (calf) was a symbol for God in the ancient Near East and represents strength and might. It may also be a representation of the pedestal or footstool of God.(1:37:38) The stone tablets are broken and the Israelites are given a lesser law. This may also help us see the Book of Mormon in a new light.(1:48:21) Moses represents the Savior Jesus Christ as he offers a prayer pleading for the Israelites. → For more of Bryce Dunford’s podcast classes, click here. → Enroll in Institute → YouTube → Apple Podcasts → Spotify → Amazon Music → Facebook The post Ep 368 | Exodus 19-20; 24; 31-34, Come Follow Me 2026 (April 20-26) appeared first on LDS Scripture Teachings.

It’s easy to get weighed down by life here—by suffering, distraction, temptation, and the constant pull of what feels urgent or important in the moment. This devotional gently lifts our eyes upward, reminding us that as followers of Christ, this world is not our final destination. Our true citizenship is in heaven. Using the image of citizenship, the reflection invites us to consider how our lives reflect where we truly belong. Our values, choices, habits, and hopes are meant to point beyond the temporary and toward eternity. When our focus drifts too heavily toward earthly desires, it becomes easier to feel discouraged, anxious, or spiritually entangled. Scripture reminds us that Jesus is preparing a place for His people and that one day, everything broken will be made right. Even now, while we live on earth, God is at work sanctifying us—shaping us to look more like Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit. This process of transformation is not wasted; it’s leading us home. When the world feels dark or overwhelming, fixing our gaze on our heavenly home restores perspective and hope. We are not just surviving here—we are living with purpose, carrying the message of Christ, and waiting with confidence for the return of our King. Main Takeaways Believers live on earth, but their true citizenship is in heaven. Eternal perspective helps guard our hearts against worldly distraction and temptation. Sanctification is a daily process that prepares us for eternal glory. Fixing our eyes on heaven brings hope when life feels heavy or dark. Remembering our heavenly home strengthens our obedience and gospel mission. Today’s Bible Verse “But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform our lowly body to be like his glorious body, by the power that enables him even to subject all things to himself” (Philippians 3:20-21, ESV). Your Daily Prayer Here is a brief excerpt from today’s prayer: “Help me to have a heavenly perspective… When the world gets dark, help me to fix my eyes on my heavenly home.” You can listen to the prayer here or read the full prayer and devotional at the links below. Have you ever considered what it truly means to live by faith rather than by sight? In 2 Corinthians 5:1-10, Paul vividly illustrates our earthly existence as fleeting, much like residing in a tent, especially when contrasted with the everlasting home that God has prepared for us. We will explore the significance of trusting in God's eternal promise and how it influences our lives, keeping in mind that one day we will stand before Him. Explore the deeper yearning for redemption and eternal unity with God, as we address the shared experience of suffering with Christ and the promise of future glory. By examining key passages from 1 Corinthians, Romans, and Philippians, we gain a better understanding of living in a disembodied state after death and the hope of resurrection. Let these reflections serve as a beacon of hope, encouraging you in your spiritual journey and reminding you of the ultimate victory of eternal life through Christ.
Have you ever felt torn between loving life on Earth and longing for more? Join us as we explore Jesus' words in John 14 and discover the truth about heaven. In this message, we'll unpack the hope we have in our heavenly home, where Jesus has prepared a place for us that's far greater than anything we can imagine on Earth.

Denise Goodson, widow of Solon Goodson, is joined by her daughter, Christal Aikey, to talk about the impact the Southern California Hospice Foundation and Heavenly Home had on their beloved Solon during the final stages of his life.Goodson and Aikey are joined by Michelle Wulfestieg, Executive Director of the Foundation.
As Ruth's story continues, she's now in Bethlehem with her mother-in-law, and not knowing anyone in a foreign land she begins to look for favor. She meets Boaz and finds great favor with him, including protection, guidance in the community, and provision. As the church we need these things as well. We need the favor of God, and our God is seeking a people He knows are in need. Like Boaz's favor toward Ruth, God's favor and provision for us are much bigger than just enough crumbs to get by. His favor is a bountiful feast and it's ready for us in the home he has prepared.

The Bible teaches there is a direct connection, a prayer line, between our homes and heaven. It is a blessed thing to be able to get together as a family and pray and know in your hearts that your prayers are not hindered. When we get out homes right with God, we can get our prayers answered.
Revelation 21:9-11 The Christians' new Heavenly Home!5
Often we think about how we would like to be with Jesus, but I want us to think about how much the Lord Jesus desires to be with us. That is beyond our human comprehension. I believe that God desires to be with His children. He wants us at home in heaven with Him, forever safe in his arms.
2 Cor 5:1-10 Our earthly home lasts a short time, our heavenly home will last forever. Our heavenly home is not made with hands. Our heavenly home is much better than our earthly home. Our earthly home is lacking, our heavenly home is complete. Our heavenly home is guaranteed by the Holy Spirit living in […]

In Part 2, Dr. Sam Frost joins us in Giraffe Studio to continue our discussion of why he left Full Preterism and endeavored to seek out scholarship to assist him in understanding what he found in the scriptures he could not explain. Rick Welch asks him a question in regard to the description of heaven and if the events mentioned in Revelation are in fact future, what does that look like. At the end of the Revelation of Jesus Christ the new city comes down with 12 gates that are always open. Outside are the sinful ones. Yet the gates are not shut. What does this mean? When the Spirit and the Bride say "Come", are they calling on the sinful to come into the city? Is this conversion? The discussion moves into the Hebrew mind and the use of the Greek language as well as what Dr. Frost states as "the reason for the creeds". We appreciate you listening to our podcast.
