This is our midweek Bible study, and we are pleased to have Missionary Chris King with us. In this study, we take a look at I John 1. And the whole theme of the chapter is fellowship with God. There is no better gift besides salvation than the gift of fellowship with God for the believer.
Welcome to the Grace in Focus podcast. Bob Wilkin and Ken Yates are spending a few episodes discussing forgiveness and fellowship along with other related words. What about “enduring to the end?” How does this Biblical phrase relate to forgiveness? What is the difference between this phrase and being in fellowship with God at the
As we continue to make sense of the Sacrificial system of the Book of Leviticus, today we turn to Leviticus 3 to unpack the idea of Peace Offerings and we'll see that these are extremely relevant to our lives today. Peace offerings point us to the fellowship we have with God once atonement and consecration has occurred, and although we may not still offer these sacrifices to the Lord, these still teach us spiritual principles in that go into walking in peace with God. Join us! DISCUSSION AND STUDY QUESTIONS: 1. What was the "nutshell" description of a peace offering that was given in the podcast? 2. The word "peace" was based on the Hebrew word "Shalom". Shalom meant wholeness, completeness and health. How is that a helpful understanding of the peace with now have with God? 3. The podcast mentioned several formal times when "Peace Offerings" were offered to the Lord (Feast of Weeks, the Nazarite Vow, the installation of priests). How did these events demonstrate the gratitude of God's people, or the fellowship they had with the Lord, or the desire to seek Him? 4. Verse 1 doesn't specify what kind of animal was to be offered, nor what gender it was to be, but it does require something for this animal? What was required and what did this reflect in the heart of the worshipper? 5. What were some of the reasons given in the podcast for the specificity of these sacrifices? 6. When you think about how the animal innards went to God and the meat went to the worshipper, how does this reflect the Lord's graciousness towards us? 7. Verse 5 tells us that the "Peace Offering" was to be "on top of" the other offerings (ESV/NIV). How does this help us understand the stages of worship and the subsequent peace the worshipper had with God? 8. How does Romans 5:1-2 help us understand the peace with have with God through Jesus? In what ways was Jesus an offering for us? 9. The podcast described the lengthy process that would go into the Old Testament process of reestablishing peace with God. How would this have given the worshiper time to reflect on their situation with the Lord? How can we incorporate a similar kind of contemplation into our relationship with God? The Lord is the light. Notice what God's Word says in 1 John 1:3-7. We read in verse five, "God is light, and in him is no darkness at all." Because God is light, He provides the light we need for our daily walk. The Christian life is a journey through earth to glory. It is the light of the Lord that enables us to make the journey victoriously. The key work in this epistle is "fellowship."
As the New Year arrives, Russ encourages us to make 2026 a year where we accept God's invitation to be with him, and fellowship with him.

This is message 37 in The Names of God Series The God Who Created and Covenanted with His People Malachi 2:10-16 God reveals Himself as the One God who created His people and bound them together by covenant, and that truth demands faithfulness in every area of life. When people forget who God is, unfaithfulness shows up in how they treat one another, how they honor marriage, and how they guard their hearts. Loyalty to God is never just a matter of outward religion but is proven in daily relationships and covenant commitments. A right view of the One God calls His people to live with integrity, faithfulness, and guarded hearts that reflect their shared relationship with Him. The book of First John has a lot to say about loving God, and about walking in fellowship with God. How are these two things related? What do that look like in real life? Find out next, as Ron continues his teaching series, “Route 66: The Ultimate Road Trip Through the Bible.”
You may already have a relationship with Jesus. But do you have a close, intimate relationship with Him? Well, the book of First John was written by the disciple whom Jesus loved. He was extremely close to Jesus, so close, in fact, that Jesus entrusted His mother, Mary, to John as He was dying four our sin on the cross of Calvary. Today, on Something Good, Dr. Ron Jones encourages you to develop that kind of relationship with your Savior, and shows you what that intimate fellowship looks like. Stay with us now as Ron moves ahead in his series, “The Ultimate Road Trip Through the Bible: The General Epistles and Revelation.”

In this world, evil men and seducers are waxing worse and worse. God is searching for a people who will pay the price in their own personal lives to please Him. Only after we are willing to confess our sin can we call out to God in prayer. The first request God desires us to make is for His will to be done. The Lord is still working on us. He is opposed to the wickedness of our world, but it is in our hearts and hands that God will first do His work.

Join us as we discuss how sin hinders our fellowship with God, and confessing our sin restores our fellowship. So what sin do you need to confess to God today?
Fellowship With God 1 John 1:8–2:2 The Advocate for Sinners Main Idea. We confess our sins and trust Christ's atonement and advocacy. Question. Where is our hope when we sin? 1. In Christ our atonement, who cleanses us (1:8–10; 2:2) Agreeing with God (in two ways) reunites the fellowship. Confess the sin (1 John 1:9) Confess the Son (Rom 10:9,10) If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved. Hebrews 9:22 Indeed, under the law almost everything is purified with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins. Application. Be quick to confess and slow to excuse. Let failures drive you toward the cross and not away. 2. In Christ our advocate, who pleads for us (2:2) Revelation 12:10 And I heard a loud voice in heaven, saying, “Now the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God and the authority of his Christ have come, for the accuser of our brothers has been thrown down, who accuses them day and night before our God. Hebrews 2:11 Jesus is not ashamed to call us His brothers because he cleansed us and set us apart. Hebrews 4:15 For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin. Hebrew 7:25 Consequently, he is able to save to the uttermost those who draw near to God through him, since he always lives to make intercession for them. Takeaways. When guilt returns, look to Christ. Trust His advocacy, confess honestly, and walk in the light.

1 John 1:5-2:6
Feasting on the Bible daily through reading and studying is vital for us as Christians. However, there can be numerous reasons that we have as to why we do not take the time to abide in His Word daily. Time in God's Word can seem dry if we do not have a feeling or an experience to accompany it. We may even be intimidated to read God's Word after leaving the NAR, in fear that we will not understand it properly. Be encouraged, dear Christian! Abiding in God's Word is part of your fellowship with Him, and it is easier than you think.Join me along with Cass Backhouse from Her Theology, as we discuss this important topic. Her Theology:Website: https://www.hertheology.comPodcast: https://www.theology.com/podcastInstagram: https://instagram.com/hertheologyYouTube: https://youtube.com/@hertheologypodcast?si=OZnWPtZjLX7CY_-jMy info:Website: http://www.lovesickscribe.comSubscribe to my blog here: http://eepurl.com/dfZ-uHInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/lovesickscribe/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/lovesickscribeblog
