Nima Gorji on the Virtual Sessions presented by The DJ Sessions 7/22/24 About Nima Gorji -  Nima was born in Iran and soon became a citizen of Denmark, who has now been based on the magical island of Ibiza for nearly 20 years. He began his journey into music during the 1990's contributing as an in demand international DJ, producer and highly sought after remixer. His career spans more than 30 years, having a beautiful beginning in Copenhagen's club scene around the time when the modern house and techno music were taking shape, capturing people's attention more and more. In 1995 he began a residency at the iconic Club, now remembered as one of the most known underground clubs in Copenhagen, where he played alongside numerous renowned DJs, slowly building on his name. His relocation to Spain brought him extended collaborations with Ibiza Underground, Monza, FUSE, Pyramid, Zoo project and Next Wave while in 2010 he was awarded “Best Ibiza Resident DJ”. He also launched a new party concept “JOIN” in Ibiza inviting along friends old and new such as Alci, Rich NxT and Amir Javasoul, Olga Korol to name a few. We are pleased to have a legend like Nima whose name can be recognised in any corner of the world.  Over his lengthy career Nima has played at major established parties/festivals such as Sunwaves Festival, Ibiza Underground, S.A.S.H, FUSE London, Pyramid Ibiza, LATAM Tours and more on his travels abroad. Nima Gorji on the Virtual Sessions presented by The DJ Sessions 8/9/22 About Nima Gorji - To say that music runs in the veins is to know the true meaning behind a 25 year career of Iranian born and Danish native Nima Gorji. Now calling Ibiza home, it is from here that he continues to demonstrate his technique and passion for his music, firmly holding his place amongst his peers and fans alike around the world. All stories must have a beginning, and for Nima it began after listening to artists such as Depeche Mode that the tone was set and the realization that this world was for him, a life of electronic music, machines, turntables and clubs. The 90's in Copenhagen saw the arrival of the clubbing scene with house and techno music, a new sound taking shape in the city and in particular with Nima who was part of this building up of this scene. In 95 he began a residency at the Rust Club, now remembered as one of the most known underground clubs in Copenhagen, where he played alongside a number of international artists, including Kerri Chandler and Kevin Yost. It was also during these years that Nima was focused in the studio and working on his own productions, firstly releasing under the alias Black Powder before moving on and releasing under his own name. Such was his ambition and dedication to his own sound that in 99 he formed his own record label, Welt Recordings to help bring the world's attention to his own productions. This success was soon realized when his track Determination was picked up for the Cocoon (Green & Blue) compilation mixed by Ricardo Villalobos and Loco Dice, and could be heard all over the island of Ibiza that same summer. In 2005 Nima made the decision to move away from his base in Denmark and make for a new one on the island of Ibiza in Spain, where he soon established himself in the local scene with residencies for What's Up at the famous terrace at Space, for Ibiza Underground, Monza and now Next Wave. His music productions continued to gain grounds on labels such as Out Of Orbit, Love Letters From Oslo, Cecille, Murmur and Suburban Tracks.  Currently Nima is building up his label Welt Recordings along with new label NG Trax and expanding an ever busy DJ schedule with tours and gigs lined up around the globe. Enthusiastic, soulful and obstinate would probably best describe Janina, a Berlin born & based DJ, and above all a pillar of the German electronic underground scene for more than twelve years. She has first been acknowledged for her active residency at the needs-no-introduction Club der Visionäre. She developed over the time a impressive sharp ear, peerless technical skills, an asserted signature, despite continuously evolving music tastes.She now plays regular sets for Klubnacht parties @ Panorama Bar, and got well-known for her endless sets at Ibiza Underground, Ushuaia, Macarena Club, Rex Club, Watergate, Arena Club, Monasterio and Katapult Parisian parties. While sharing the decks with Marcel Dettmann, Ben Klock, Robert Hood, Fumiya Tanaka, Sonja Moonear, Margaret Dygas, Thomas Melchior, Cassy, Luciano, Carl Craig and other artists around the world, she is now playing twice a month as a resident of Monasterio Club in Moscow, one of the capital’s major nightclub. Having drawn unlimited inspiration from Underground Resistance pioneers, to legend Robert Hood, Cari Lekebush or Tresor’s techno scene, she likes to drive up the ideas further. Gangstercast 53 comes from Toronto-based DJ/producer ‘Nitin’. Nitin has worn many hats in dance music. Promoter, Label Owner, Record storeowner, producer but first and foremost, a DJ. Beginning his career in London, Ontario, Canada, he was one of the founding fathers of the electronic music scene in the city. If you lived in the London Ontario area between the years of 1994 & 2005, you would have heard the mixes, stepped foot in the events, and listened to the music that Nitin enlightened the city with. Nitin’s love affair with music began at an early age. His initial musical spectrum included Hip Hop, early Electro and New Wave. It wasn’t long before the radio waves of Detroit caught his ears; and he was hooked. It was clear that Techno & Tech House was the platform, and a direction was chosen. It wasn’t long before he also became (now long time) friends with another London Ontario native, John Acquaviva, who opened him up to a plethora of music and knowledge. In 2005 Nitin made the decision to migrate to Canada’s musical hub, Toronto, where he joined the newly launched Gem Events team, and began to hypnotize the city with an onslaught of tailored events ranging from underground warehouse & afterhours parties, all-sized nightclub events, up to 10,000 plus concerts & festivals across the Americas. Nitin’s DJ career has spanned over 15 years having played from Coast to Coast across Canada, down to Ultra Music Festival, WMC, Miami, and The BPM Festival in Playa del Carmen, Mexico, and across the oceans to the UK. Along with festivals, Nitins enjoyed the privilege of spinning at a few notable venues including BLK|Markett in Brooklyn and the Standard Rooftop in LA. Playing alongside many of the world’s Top DJ’s, Nitin regularly shares the decks with the likes of M.A.ND.Y, Damian Lazarus, Jamie Jones, Audiofly, Art Department, Tale of Us, Dennis Ferrer, to name a few. Being referred to as “One of the most technically gifted DJ’s around” it’s evident that Nitin is here to stay. Fast forward to now, and Nitin has built a respected name for himself. He’s a player in the recent explosion of Toronto artists on the word stage. In 2008 launched the well-respected No.19 Music with Label Partners Jonny White. Already the label has released originals and remixes from Legends DJ Sneak, Stacey Pullen, Justin Drake, Osunlade, Maceo Plex, Art Department, Jamie Jones, Soul Clap, and many more. The No.19 brand has played a significant role in the formation of a new wave of dance music and their masters. To Nitin, As a Dj , the house gangster movement  “means playing real underground house music - anything deep, tech-y, soulful, or jackin fits the brand in my opinion.” We asked Nitin what House music meant to him, to which he replied; “It’s my passion and my job. I feel very fortunate to be doing this. I can't imagine my life without it.”  In telling us how he chose the tracks in compiling this mix, he says “Lots of digging before the gig with some new and unreleased stuff for good measure. I never plan sets but I definitely found some jams to play that I hadn't played in a while.”  This mix in which Nitin provides us with for Gangstercast 53 was recorded live in Ibiza at the Underground club, our closing party featuring Tuccillo, Nitin, and Sneak playing back to back with Martinez Brothers; for what was an incredible night!   When asked how this mix represents him as an artist, Nitin explains, “This is a good cross section of the music I like to play in a set. A mix between new and old house and techno. Definitely more on the house-y side on this mix.”   Nitin gives a final special mention about this mix, saying “I was very honoured when Sneak asked me to play his closing party at Ibiza Underground.  The vibe was really raw all night. It was definitely one of the highlights of last summer.”
