On this episode we take a deep dive into one of the relationship types that I highly value and that would be FRIENDSHIPS! In this sometimes toxic culture of "throwing people away" we wanted to really dissect the importance of friendships, how to navigate changing friendships, and how to handle it when other people are placed at higher importance than your friendships. If you love your friends or are struggling in this area, this episode is for you! Special guests: Joy B., Nikki H., & Reese W.
PROVERB CONSIDERED: "Ògbójú ò tẹ ara ẹ̀ nÍfá; ọ̀mọ̀ràn ò fara ẹ̀ joyè; ọ̀bẹ tó mú ò gbẹ́ ẹ̀kù ara ẹ̀" INTERPRETATION: "The fearless person does not consult the Ifá oracle on his own behalf; the super-clever person does not enthrone himself; the sharpest knife does not carve its own handgrip." MEANING: No matter how powerful and accomplished one might be, one will need other people for some things. REFLECTION: The ideology behind this proverb resonates with the African concept of Ubuntu ("I am because you are"). The idea is that each of us finds the utmost realisation of our humanity in the reality of being in relationship with other human beings, and, in fact, with all of creation. As such, we need one another to survive and thrive in life. We must, however, be cautious of the fact that whatever help or support we receive from others or even from nature is ultimately from God. There is nothing we have that we have not received from God (1 Corinthians 4:7). Besides, we must endeavour to embrace the roles God has given us in life. We may not be in the spotlight and we may receive lesser recognition in certain contexts, but in all, we must gladly accept to be who God has called us to be. On this episode, we take a deep dive into the fantasy of love verses the reality of it. Are we creating our own illusions of love or are they being painted for us? Are we really up for the fight of what true love is or not really? Are we really taking a holistic look at potential partners and all that they come with before making an informed decision on partnership? There are so many questions that need answers and this episode is here to give answers to them all! Tune in as we conclude Season 3...it is a helluva an informative and entertaining ride! Special guests: Ms. Carter, Nikki H., Joy B., and Tiff from the Sipp!

Mar 23 at 3:34pm On this episode I have with me my good friend, Sari Graham to talk about her love for the person with the most recognizable name in world history, Anne Boleyn; Daughter. Sister. Lady-in-Waiting. Marquess. Queen. Mother. Heretic. Whore. Witch. Traitor. Victim. Probably one of the most recognizable names in English history, her life’s story has been immortalized in numerous books, film and television series in the 483 years since her untimely death. The world still feels the ripples of the waves Anne Boleyn made during her lifetime, including the highly successful reign of her only child, Queen Elizabeth I. When you’re “under fire” in the circumstances of your life, are you surprised or wonder why God would let that happen to you? Listen to this lesson to hear the many reasons that believers can expect adversities and suffering. Find out that some of our trials are deserved because of our own actions but that many are underserved. See that unbelievers have two ways of handling their problems, one by pretending they don’t exist and the other by enduring them with gritted teeth while Christians have been given the Holy Spirit and the Scriptures so they can rejoice in the midst of trouble.
