It's snack time, here at Castology... podsnack time that is. These are the podcasts you listen to when you just want a lil something something, but you have no time to invest. Liz recommends the aptly named Little Tiny, Zane gets cooking with Food in Five, and Nick has managed to find a narrative podcast that's teeny tiny as well in 2298. Then it's review time!Liz Recommends - Little Tinyhttps://www.abc.net.au/radio/programs/little-tiny/A coin, a key, a doughnut: how have these small things changed the course of history?Spend some time exploring world history via the small things that have shaped it. Each episode details a story in history, taking you from a tiny moment of change through to its mammoth consequences, all in the space of a coffee break. Hosted by Kara Schlegl.Kara Eva Schlegl is a writer, producer and story-teller from Sydney, Australia.Episodes include how a dinner party led to the invention of the pill, how one person getting fired may have led to the Titanic sinking, or how pigeon poop brought about a Nobel Prize winning theory. For both: Pick topics that take your fancy. I particularly liked the one on The Pill. Comedy writer & producer Kara Schlegl on interviewing her exes, growing up in a house made of billboards and diversity in comedy.
It's the end of another season! James is moving to Melbourne for six months for a sweet sweet job so in the meantime we're calling this an indefinite hiatus. We could have gone out like Scrubs and had every guest who ever appeared on the show in the last episode, but instead we thought we'd get a firm favourite Kara Schlegl back in the hot seat. We chat about the week's news as normal for the first half of the episode (which went to broadcast on 2SER on March 15) but we thought we'd do a little bit extra for you podcast people who have been with us from the start. Bryce joins the conversation and we go roundtable discussing a few scenarios involving AusPol characters. It's... a little chaotic but totally worth it for Nick's new nickname for Scott Ludlam at the end. Thank you to 2SER for picking up the show over the last 6 months. Thank you to Bryce Halliday for producing every incarnation of the show from its inception. Thank you to all our wonderful guests who helped us develop the show. Thank you James Colley and Nick Fischer for creating a great show format and trawling some of the darkest corners of the internet to find great comments. And of course thank you to you idiots for subscribing and sharing the show and being bothered to read all of this text. You're amazing. Please follow us all on Twitters and Facebooks to keep up with the other things we're doing. There's a lot going on. James is @JamColley and has a website. Bryce is @MrBryceHalliday and brycehalliday.com. And... I dunno, add Nick Fischer on Facebook or something.
Good news! The leadship spill didn't go ahead so our last episode was still relevent when it was broadcast. Exasperated hoorays all around. Kara Shlegl returns as our guest on an excellent episode of Stop The Posts. So good in fact that we went way over time in our recording and you lovely podcasters get the unedited version. We chat about the spill and about Joe Hockey's cuts to Medicare. Freya Newman joins The Greens and we suggest some new branding. Australia is part of Eurovision now and Nick teaches us a new term. Produced by Bryce Halliday Recorded at 2SER.
We're joined this week by Kara Schegl from Awkward Duck Theatre to discuss the impending war with China and the most adorable sports thing to ever happen. Recorded at 2SER Studios. Produced by Bryce Halliday
