Corría el año 1941, en plena Segunda Guerra Mundial, cuando sufrió una lesión cerebral durante un ataque aéreo. Cuando se recuperó, comenzó a hablar con acento alemán, por lo que sufrió el rechazo de sus compatriotas al considerarla una traidora. Nada más lejos de la realidad, pero no supieron diagnosticarle entonces lo que realmente sufría: el síndrome del acento extranjero. Esta es una de esas enfermedades raras que, por muy raras que sean, existen.Lo mismo -aunque sin consecuencias negativas para ella, por tratarse de una época y de un país libres de conflictos- le sucedió a Linda Walker en 2005. Esta británica sufrió un problema de salud después del cual comenzó a hablar con acento italiano. También fue la experiencia que en 2008 tuvo Cindy Lou Romberg, de Estados Unidos. Tras haber sufrido una lesión cerebral, pasó a tener acento ruso, e incluso a hablar con los errores gramaticales que cometen las personas rusas cuando hablan inglés. Julie Frazier, en el mismo año y tras una migraña que duró meses, cambió su acento americano por uno británico. En 2011, la también estadounidense Karen Butler empezó a hablar con acento irlandés tras una operación. Un año antes Sarah Colwill, del Reino Unido, cambió su acento británico por el chino tras haber sufrido intensos dolores de cabeza.Solo hay veinte casos documentados en el mundo de pacientes con este desorden del habla, así que no se sabe mucho de él. Lo que sí se sabe es que los afectados no parecen tener relación alguna con la cultura del acento que adquieren. Interesante, ¿verdad? Esto me hace preguntarme: ¿existe una clara relación entre mi manera de hablar y la cultura religiosa que digo tener? O lo que es lo mismo: ¿hablo con el «acento» que cabe esperar de una persona cuya «lengua materna» es el lenguaje de amor de la Biblia?Una mujer cristiana que goza de buena salud espiritual debe necesariamente tener un estilo de hablar que vaya en consonancia con la cultura del cristianismo. Esto no es asunto de poca importancia, «porque las palabras que pronuncia ponen de manifiesto qué poder está controlando su mente y su corazón. The FCA's Investment Firms Prudential Regime takes a new approach to liquidity requirements for investment firms.
