He is a founding member and bass player of Northwest indie legends Old Time Relijun, electro dance-rock pioneers IQU and releases music under the moniker Marine Layer. His newest endeavor, La Jolla Babylon-The Making Of A Suburban Punk, (out 10.18 via Ruinous Media) is a poignant and hilarious podcast where Aaron shares stories about his stormy youth growing up punk in a conservative beach town with his Millennial sister, actor, writer and comedian Katie Hartman. In this episode, Joe and Aaron get to the bottom of their first meeting and how Olympia's music scene's eventual acceptance of Joe led to the two playing together in the Replikants. Aaron shares how the struggle to publish his fictionalized memoir led to his new podcast, why he asked his sister Katie to join him and why it's a platform for he and Katie to celebrate their closeness and rapport. The two quip about changing the narrative with their longtime friend Sara Lund and Aaron shares an outrageous story about sperm donation and how his older sister wrote a play inspired by the experience. For the first time EVER, lifelong BFFs Tibby, Carmen, Bridget, and Lena are about to be separated for the summer. Luckily for them, they find a pair of seemingly magic pants to hold them together as they scatter around the world… and luckily for us, Ann Brashares shared their story in her 2001 YA novel The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. There's a lot more to this book than I realized myself as a teen — questions of sex, depression, death, blended families, and more — and we break it all down in Episode 13. West Philadelphia-based special education teacher Katie Hartman joins us for all the girl talk. Follow Katie's awesome bookstagram (@katiefullybooked).
Gather your children, all the ones you care to, for our service. The Story will invoke in them the rigor of the student, the angst of the sergeant, the filth of the drifter, and the scar of the unrepentant. The Story's got warnings, children, but also: discipline. And scorn! Grow up! Hurry! Before the good gettings all got! Guest Preacher: Katie Hartman (Skinny Bitch Jesus Meeting, The Week Of) Invocation Psalm: “Ghost Love/Ghost Love 2” Liturgical Reading: “Magic Mary And Freddy Fox Go To Magic Town” Concluding Prayer We have beauties ahead, and glories abound. Our flock it gathers.

God Ween Evan is a podcast celebrating the American rock 'n' roll band Ween, and one man's refusal to open his heart, mind, and soul to the band's music. That man is Evan Kaufman, a New York City-based actor, writer, director and all around beautiful human being. A lover of comedy and music, Evan, it reasons, should adore and appreciate Ween's absurdist wit and musical craftsmanship, but he doesn't. WHY? Fortunately, his friends and fellow artists Katie Hartman, Will Nunziata, and Paul Gutkowski are here to unlock the mystery of what is wrong with Evan, and shepherd him into the brown light of the Boognish. If they can save Evan Kaufman, they'll save us all. See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

And, after an attempt to reach Leah Rudick on the phone, Sharon and Katie wind things up by discussing those who use signatures in texts and the general state of being underemployed.
