We talk to them about a time they were each wrong in their career, their unusual coffee order and they sing public domain songs such as Hush Little Baby and Mary Had a Little Lamb. You finally feel like you got the hang of things, and then your baby is in a whole new phase! This is a really common feeling in this phase of babyhood. This episode is the second in my realistic expectations by age short series. I'm sharing some key points about sleep in this very in-between age, and how parents can sometimes be both a step ahead of their baby and a step behind. Throw in all the development that happens during this time and sleep definitely keeps you on your toes.Resources related to this episodeA little bit more about the 4 month sleep regression (and no I generally don't use that term): https://intuitiveparentingdc.com/blog/2022/8/10/to-the-parent-of-a-4-month-old-baby-encouragement-during-the-four-month-sleep-regressionDevelopmentally informed sleep expectations by age:https://intuitiveparentingdc.com/blog/2018/7/6/developmentally-appropriate-sleep-expectations-birth-to-age-5Connect with KimGrab a free sleep myth busting guide and learn more about working with Kim: https://intuitiveparentingdc.com/Instagram: instagram.com/intuitive_parenting_dcFacebook: facebook.com/intuitiveparentingdc

Owner Financing & Note Investing Podcast with Dawn Rickabaugh
Yes, out of every owner financed transaction, a new little note 'baby' is born. Whether it is healthy and strong, or frail and sickly is dependent upon the genetics, the DNA, of the note and the circumstances under which it was conceived. I guess it's nature vs nurture ;-) Linktr.ee/DawnRickabaugh NoteQueen.com Apply for Mentorship
We live in a world full of violence and pain. Our culture celebrates retribution and preemptive strikes - the destruction or at least submission of our enemies as payback for what they have (or might have) inflicted on us.The Bible certainly contains many stories of the same kinds of struggles, of harm being done to the people of God and of their responses. Obviously, this provides a righteous path for us to respond to those who would harm us or our families or friends with the same kind of brutality and death they visited on us, right? Our final Horror Story of the Bible for this season is one of the deep craving we have to visit the pain we feel onto those we hold responsible for it and anyone associated with them. What does God call on his people to do in the face of violence being done to them?It may be that Old Testament vengeance isn't what you think it is.
This week's episode (as the title suggests) is very, very loosely related to the UK. Tressa went full-midwesterner on this one—sorry, y'all! Saddle up for the story of Tom Bass, one of the greatest horseman of all time, who once declined an invitation to England by Queen Victoria herself (yep, that's the whole UK tie-in).
You know those moments, when a little deal feels like a much bigger deal? And even though you tell yourself Don't sweat the small stuff or Settle down, Sister…You just can't help it. I call these Bratty Little Baby moments, and guess what? We all have them.Big people. Little people. All the people have Bratty Little Baby moments. Why you may ask? Cuz…Human-ing is hard. And messy. And and and. And the more we understand this, the less Bratty Little Baby hijacks happen. In this episode, you'll learn:How suppressing meltdown moments in kids leads to self-criticism in adulthood. The questions to ask when you've had a bratty moment and you're convinced you're a terrible parent. Why it's okay to lose control sometimes, even if you feel like you should know better. And much more! Order! Order in the court! Yes, we're talking about Trump's conviction this week, and what it means for him and for America at large. But that's not all – we discuss Civil War (the movie), civil war (the cultural inevitability), birthday card disposal, concert etiquette, and even the hot new saint whose rizz is on fleek. This episode's mistakes include: Referring to an A note as D♭. Intense ASMR foley work. Describing a saint's rizz as "on fleek". Egregious factual inaccuracies. Western Classical Music: Where did it come from and how did it "get that way?" We think we can answer the first question in two episodes, but the second one... well, you could build an entire show around that! Today, we trace the origins of WCM from the earliest notated fragments in the world to the first named composers in history. Join us as we overturn the claim that "Not a note of music has survived from the ancient world," and find out what deck-sanding and kosher lunch meats have in common (the answer will shock you!) CAVEAT 1: Correction: "Alexanders successors," not "Alexander's descendants" CAVEAT 2: Greek persecution of the Jews was almost exclusively under Antiochus IV, but it was severe. CAVEAT 3: The musical setting for the hymn to Caliope and Zeus stretches credibility. I mean, it does kinda sound like "Hush, Little Baby," doesn't it? The language is ancient though and, like we've said, the ancients are always surprising us. ;-) ==================== EARLY NOTATION LINKS What do we know about the oldest found melody? - Music: Practice & Theory Stack Exchange https://music.stackexchange.com/questions/91048/what-do-we-know-about-the-oldest-found-melody The World's Oldest Surviving Music from circa 1950 BC https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bAPC1tG2BKY&themeRefresh=1 (PDF) A Musical and Mathematical Context for CBS 1766 | leon crickmore - Academia.edu https://www.academia.edu/1618638/A_Musical_and_Mathematical_Context_for_CBS_1766 The Oldest Known Melody (Hurrian Hymn no.6 - c.1400 B.C.) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QpxN2VXPMLc&themeRefresh=1 History's Oldest Song Modernized for 2020 (Samurai Guitarist) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aHGB8dS1OsI&themeRefresh=1 =========================== ANCIENT HEBREW MUSIC LINKS The Origins of the Israelites: Episode 3 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m_ao1i7LokM&list=PLuFO87ncQ_QQMmujr06QeRwMZC3goRd0n&index=6 The Pagan Origins of Judaism https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZECezMYug8c&list=PLuFO87ncQ_QQMmujr06QeRwMZC3goRd0n&index=4&pp=gAQBiAQB8AUB What Music might Moses have heard as a Child in Egypt? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=At7jUZquUc0 King David's Lyre; Echoes of Ancient Israel https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kiA86HI-GLU&list=PLuFO87ncQ_QQMmujr06QeRwMZC3goRd0n&index=12 Jerusalem Shofar at Sunrise https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EKQrBURDtQE The Sound of the Shofar calls us to worship https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qVHQdKLbTXw The original musical notes found in the Old Testament, played right before your eyes! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kh2KwEwaroc&list=PLuFO87ncQ_QQMmujr06QeRwMZC3goRd0n&index=19 The Original 3000 Year Old Melody of the Psalm 19 - Revealed? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M86lEfmVsEY&t=30s Chanticleer - Psalms 23:1-6 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HOZ3SjHIUzw Lost Melodies - Hebrew Chanting - Psalm 95 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HEfF8fr5stY Choral singing in ancient Israel https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=06rIvIBoNfM Trio Mandili - Psalm 50 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BcbKoY7XpJE Mendelssohn: Variations Concertantes, Op. 17 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PiocuaABrWc ========================== ANCIENT GREEK MUSIC LINKS "Minoan" Lyre - Improvisation by Claudio Quadros https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s0GzWKUQAJU Minoan Theater - The Minoan Experience https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fe_RsPWIOro&t=6s Ancient Minoan Civilization ("Creep" by Radiohead) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jz3d5x-MUT4 Hymn to Zeus https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sc109u7Zw8M&list=PLE619C0863B707DDD&index=4 Ancient Lyre - Kleopas : Hymn to muse Kalliope and Apollo https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y8Hpyov3Tt8 Rediscovering Ancient Greek Music: A performance reconstructs the past https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UAmuQBnNty8&list=PLuFO87ncQ_QQMmujr06QeRwMZC3goRd0n&index=29 Cithara of the Golden Age - Michael Levy - Luthieros Music instruments https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8t1itGJ8Zpc Ancient Lyre - Barbiton Lyre of Sappho - Barbiton Lyre https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NWLRqI9iM-E Roman water organ performance https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=US50QmZaeyE Eminem straight up reciting the iliad of homer in ancient greek (video by @GavMac39) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ubSwbyd0uI KANUN https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iy-Xvzi2YAM Musique de la Grèce antique https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a1z0zaGDzlQ The Euripides Orestes Chorus https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_c2Ho9NvWY8

The Lomax Collection reflects a variety of human experience—from the sacred to the profane, from the rural to the urban, and from the public square to the domestic scene. The Lomaxes recorded lullabies all over the world, creating a record of the universality of these particularly intimate moments between parents and children. This episode gathers some of our favorite lullabies from the archive, and is part of a larger project on the subject, which includes an exhibit on the Lomax Digital Archive and a compilation pairing archival recordings with new interpretations by contemporary artists. For information on the performers, old and new, and the songs, visit the accompanying exhibit on the Lomax Digital Archive: archive.culturalequity.org/go-to-sleepy. A Fresh Story, season 4, episode 4 October is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month, and we're honored to hold space for these profound stories. These stories may be of grief, but they are also of hope, resilience, and most of all, unconditional love. As a reminder, be gentle with your heart, and if you are not able to listen to this episode at the moment, we understand and we are holding you close. We know these conversations will change you as they have changed us. Nikki Dinki is a chef, author, mom, TV Host, and comedy writer. I was first introduced to Nikki when she was on Food Network Star in 2013. She seemed so lovely, relatable, and sweet (spoiler alert: she is). She seemed like someone I'd be friends with. I was pregnant with my first son at the time I watched her on Food Network Star, and so when she announced that she too was pregnant on the season 9 finale, I was so excited for her. My son was born in August, and in the flurry of new parenthood, I forgot that Nikki's child was also due. Months went by, and I started to worry, where was Nikki? Where was the baby? And, then I saw this post on her website. Willa had been stillborn, on her due date, November 25th, 2013. I will never forget reading about the Lemonade Cheesecakes for Willa, and I never forgot Nikki or Willa. My heart broke for her, and I thought often of her and Willa. In the years since, Nikki and I bopped around the same media circles and when it came time to produce this series, I knew I had to talk to Nikki. I wanted to know more about her journey after loss, and of course, about sweet Willa. Almost 10 years later, Nikki describes every moment so honestly, and with such grace and reverence for her daughter. We talked about the quiet that comes with a stillbirth, and how she kept going after Willa's passing, with work – and the incredible importance of mementos. We chatted about how she feels so connected to her daughter and how Willa is with them every day. Nikki's courage, humor, and love for her daughter is palpable, and I was so grateful to get to spend the time with her and Willa. You can read some of Nikki's recipes and stories here: Willa's Lemonade Cheesecakes Pregnancy after loss: Little Baby's Caramel Apple Monkey Bread Nikki, thank you for sharing Willa with us all. We will remember her always. You can find Nikki on Twitter and Instagram, TikTok, and her website. Check out her newest cookbook, More Veggies Please!
In a world torn apart by evil actions and deep hurts, what are we to do? When an enemy has slaughtered our children, what are we to do?When the monsters are revealed and our anger is sharp and ready to be thrust into their hearts to rip them out the way they have done to us, what are we to do?Today, an examination of facing the impossible in an unexpected, but necessary, way.Grace and peace to you and to your enemies.

In this episode, we dive into some intriguing and controversial topics that have been making headlines lately. Join us as we start by discussing the recent buzz surrounding Little Baby's Hot Ticket Prices Raise and the unfortunate news of him having to cancel shows due to low ticket sales. We discuss the significance of establishing healthy boundaries and how they can lead to more fulfilling and respectful connections with others. On a lighter note, we address the viral tweet of women posting their struggles when rent is due. They took their little baby to Children's Hospital. That was a catastrophic mistake which nearly cost them their baby. Now, they are readying a lawsuit. Bryce and Latoya Richards took their 4 month old baby to Children's Hospital. As I understand it, the extent of the child's medical concerns was according to the hospital: a bruise on the roof of her mouth from a fall from a changing table and fussiness. Bryce and Latoya have all the records, seemingly enough to prove it--including what the Richards believe are documents Children's forged!--they have all the videos and recording of calls with officials. Bryce and Latoya ended up having to turn to a dear, trusted friend to secret Latoya and Baby Harper out of the State so Bryce, who had been jailed, didn't know specifically where she was so, when pressed by a judge to produce her, the he could honestly say he didn't know where she was so the Separate Country couldn't seize her. This week Ashley and Autumn chat about a funny baby name trend of words that sound pretty and could be names but mean something that you would never want to name your baby. The girls also chat about all the things they should have taught us in high school but of course didn't . . . because why teach life skills when you can learn about parallelograms. Plus, the usual Thursday ramblings. If you love what you hear please follow, rate, and review! Have a story you'd love to share or a question you're dying to have answered? Spring has sprung, and we're celebrating it with frozen treats, delicious eats, and artisanal caffeine to keep you motivated for your warm-weather fun! We began our show by staring at clouds...Cloud Cups to be exact! Galen Thomas, who founded Cloud Cups in 2018, joined us to announce the Grand-opening of his first brick and mortar location in Philadelphia's Fishtown neighborhood. Thomas, who co-owns the popular gelato company along with Kolande Oronti and Drew Posey, is opening Cloud Cups where Little Baby's Ice Cream was previously located. What's even more exciting than enjoying the sweet frozen treats? How about grabbing a slice of 'za from Pizza Brain and some of Thomas' gelato! That's right--the best of both (culinary) worlds is back: Pizza and Gelato from two Philly favorites! And if you want to learn more about Cloud Cups, or taste some of Galen's delicious flavor creations for yourself, order some online to be shipped or stop by when he opens Cloud Cups in a few weeks! Now that you've made room for dessert, we've invited a spectacular guest to join our table: Executive Chef Matthew Audette joined us on Food Farms and Chefs to chat about Copper Shark Baltimore. Copper Shark Baltimore (CSB), which is located in the Locust Point neighborhood of Baltimore, MD, is home to Maryland's history during the prohibition era. Unfortunately, the pandemic delayed the opening date for Copper Shark Baltimore. However, the wait was worth it, as evidenced by the need to make reservations asap. You'll be delighted when you visit CSB for brunch, lunch, or dinner--there's so much to indulge in with exquisite meals curated by Chef Audette. Everything on the menu is inspired by foods that Matthew loves, which he incorporated from various places he lived like Boston and New York. Equally as passionate are the selections of Bourbons and Whiskeys offered at Copper Shark Baltimore; given the history of the building, the owners brought a nod to the locations' previous business in the Copper industry speak-easy, leaving a still that will eventually be used to create a house-made whiskey. If you want to hear more about Copper Shark Baltimore, tune in to this week's show! Lastly, we spoke with single-origin coffee roaster, Luis Gongora who owns Vamo Coffee Company in Philadelphia. Gongora was inspired while working in restaurants for eleven years and was drawn to the science behind brewing and roasting coffee and tea. After learning from other roasters, like industry leader Scott Rao, Luis brought his adoration of caffeinated beverages to new origins. He now works closely with two companies that introduce him to seasonal coffee beans from small-batch farms and roasting them to peak perc-fection; the outcome lends itself to flavorful brews that highlight the regions they hail from, moreover the cherries they were picked from. If you would like to learn more, visit Vamo Coffee Company for classes, coffee, and more!
