The law – you may have thought that a Christian's life was free from any law. Well, yes and no. Today we dig into the law and learn why it is beautiful and perfect, much like the Lawgiver! Q: What does the law of God require? A: Personal, perfect, and perpetual obedience; that we love God with all our heart, soul, mind and strength; and love our neighbor as ourselves. What God forbids should never be done and what God commands should always be done Matthew 22:37-40 And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. 38 This is the great and first commandment. 39 And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. 40 On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets.” Q: What is the law of God stated in the Ten Commandments? A: You shall have not other gods before me. You shall not make for yourself an idol in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below – you shall not bow down to them or worship them. You shall not misuse the name of the LORD your God. Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. Honor your father and your mother. You shall not murder. You shall not commit adultery. You shall not steal. You shall not give false testimony. You shall not covet. Exodus 20:3 “You shall have no other gods before me. Q: Can anyone keep the law of God perfectly? A: Since the fall, no mere human has been able to keep the law of God perfectly, but consistently breaks it in thought, word, and deed. Romans 3:10-12 10 as it is written: “None is righteous, no, not one; 11 no one understands; no one seeks for God. 12 All have turned aside; together they have become worthless; no one does good, not even one.” William Beveridge, a theologian from the 19th century, said these words near the end of his life: “The older I grow – and I now stand upon the brink of eternity – the more comes back to me the first sentence in the Catechism which I learned when a child, and the fuller and deeper its meaning becomes: What is the chief end of man? To glorify God, and to enjoy him forever.”

Jacob Irving was diagnosed at birth with Spastic Quadriplegia, a rare form of Cerebral Palsy. Jacob began a life long quest to understand his condition. In this search, Jacob discovered research using cannabinoids, a main compound in marijuana, to treat muscle stiffness arising from Cerebral Palsy. He also found out that medical marijuana had been legal in Louisiana for treating Spastic Quadriplegia since 1991. Unable to understand why patients such as himself could not get access to this form of treatment, he began a quest. Today, he talks to the Legal Ease about the state of medical marijuana in Louisiana, and the future for it. Also on the shoe, Mike Seibert joins us for his segment Around the Bend: A Publisher's Preview of Upcoming Student Written Articles in the Louisiana Law Review to discuss Ben Wallace's recent article A Vote Against State Nonresident Contribution Limits.
Let's first amend our minds with the basics of Constitutional Law (and more specifically our First Amendment) and navigate why freedom of speech is crucial to America and all of its people which include students, faculty, and invited speakers on campuses across America. With protests turning violent on campuses in recent years, we explore free speech specifically on college campuses weighing the interests of different parties and exploring possible balances. Co-hosts Amena Kheshtchin-Kamel and Chase Turrentine help navigate these waters in the form of a socratic discussion with experts Dr. Stefanie Lindquist (Deputy Provost of Arizona State University) and Dr. Joseph Russomanno (Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication Professor and Adjunct Professor at the Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law) who are experts on Constitutional Law.

Inksecure: A Legal Podcast Focused on Creating Wealth From the Fine Print
Hey Guys! First podcast episode as the "Legal-EASE for Entrepreneurs podcast! I have a new name and new website! It all started at the Black Girl Vision Pitch Competition in April. I decided to pitch my company for some seed money and did an awesome job! - you'll have to listen to find where I placed. Having to come up with a 3-minute pitch really forced to think about my vision for my company and my brand. I started this podcast just to vent about my own entrepreneur journey and to create a safe space for others who felt alone. But it has turned into something much bigger and I had to rethink it all. I also talk about my recent trip to New York for the Great Girlfriends What Women Want Conference - which was amazing. I got a chance to meet my [in-my-head]BFFs Christina Brown of LoveBrownSugar, Patrice Washington (the Money Maven) of PatriceWashington.com and Tiffany "The Budgetnista" Aliche and got a chance to catch up with Tieko Nejon! I also talk about how hard it is to be consistent - especially when you have a full-time job and other responsibilities. I get so hard on myself when I miss a week. Let me know what you think of the new website and the new name. Cheers!

Inksecure: A Legal Podcast Focused on Creating Wealth From the Fine Print
Welcome to the first episode of The Legal-EASE for Entrepreneurs podcast. When I opened my law firm three years ago, I was lucky to have a couple of colleagues who gave me some tips, but for the most part, I had to figure it all out and I made every possible mistake. I invested time and resources in things I thought would work and ignored the things I was supposed to do. Eventually things started to turn around. I still haven't mastered running a business by any means, but, I've learned a lot and these lessons have allowed me to grow as a small business owner and a person. As a small business attorney, I enjoy helping creatives and entrepreneurs navigate the legal aspects of their business. The Legal-EASE for Entrepreneurs podcast is dedicated to empowering and educating entrepreneurs tackle their own simple legal needs. Thanks for joining me! Art
