Almost three years ago, some 200 inmates at Maplehurst Correctional Facility in Milton, Ont. were subjected to strip searches, zip ties and pepper spray during an violent incident that lasted more than a day. Since then, multiple sentences have either been shortened or thrown out, including a first-degree murder case from 2022. The provincial ombudsman has since launched an investigation to find out what exactly happened during the incident, and why prison officials reportedly lied about it. HEY!  IT'S SEASON TWO!!!Remember the special council appointed to investigate Donald Trump's insurrection influence and theft of classified materials?  Some dude named Jack Smith.  This guy had Trump on the ropes to the point where a Trump appointed judge had to throw out all precedent regarding the appointment of special councils just to throw out the case...it was open-and-shut.  And as for the insurrection involvement, Smith claims he would have secured a conviction in a court of law.And then...well, you know.Also, a threat against Smith in real time just proves how Trump uses the justice department to eliminate his perceived political enemies.-T

In the four days since the last podcast...everything got worse!  The continued extrajudicial actions of the federal agents terrorizing Minnesota are making loads of headlines, so naturally the regime is trying to muddy the waters with their mass propaganda machine.  Oh, and someone is threatening war with Europe...and it's not Putin.Stay strong, stay safe,-T

TVC 717.2: Mark Shaw, author of Abuse of Power: Connecting Robert Kennedy's Assassinaton with the Murders of JFK and Dorothy Kilgallen, talks to Ed about a recently released YouTube video about John Shear (pictured above, left), a longtime paddock captain at Santa Anita Racetrack in Southern California who hired Sirhan Sirhan (pictured above, center) as a "hot walker" several months before Sirhan was arrested for the assassination of RFK in June 1968. According to Mark, Shear's comments in that video not only lend credence to the possibility that Sirhan may have been used as a fall guy by the mob for the assassination of RFK, but make the case that Sirhan should receive a new trial in light of these new revelations. (Though John Shear died in December 2023, Mark interviewed Shear's son, Michael, in December 2024; Michael Shear provided confirmation of his father's account.) President Trump’s plan to deploy National Guard troops to U.S. cities is setting up a new showdown in federal courts over the limits of his authority. Illinois sued the administration to stop plans to send in 400 troops from Texas. It comes after a separate judge blocked Trump from sending California’s National Guard to Oregon. Friends, for this Twenty-fifth Sunday of Ordinary Time, I want to focus on the first and second readings. When read together, they give us a very good sense of Catholic social teaching in regard to the question of power. The Church's position here is a subtle one. It doesn't demonize political and economic power; after all, God is described as all-powerful, so power can't, in itself, be a problem. But it is very much concerned with how we use that power.
