FrontStage BackStage with Jason Daye - Healthy Leadership for Life and Ministry
As pastors and ministry leaders, how can we lean more deeply into God's mission when we're faced with societal disruptions and disillusionment? In this week's conversation on FrontStage BackStage, host Jason Daye is joined by Linson Daniel. Linson is the associate pastor at METRO Church in Texas. He is also a senior advisor for InterVarsity Christian Fellowship, and his most recent book is entitled Reviving Mission. Together, Linson and Jason look at the backstage of ministry leaders' lives and the value of a deep encounter with God. Linson then shares a very practical framework on how we can more intentionally engage in God's mission for ourselves and for the communities that we lead.Dig deeper into this conversation: Find the free Weekly Toolkit, including the Ministry Leaders Growth Guide, all resource links, and more, at http://PastorServe.org/networkSome key takeaways from this conversation:Linson Daniel on the importance of seeking God first for guidance, strength, and purpose: "Mission has to start with an encounter with God."Linson Daniel on the significance of investing deeply in people and trusting them to carry their influence forward: "We empower people by serving them and sending them."Linson Daniel on the transformative impact of having a personal relationship with Jesus, particularly during challenging times: "There was something about being connected to Jesus that made even the hardest days worth it."----------------Looking to dig more deeply into this topic and conversation? There is something potent about someone's last words, whether they're from a famous movie, a speech, or a loved one. Jesus experienced agony by dying on the Cross after being crucified by Roman soldiers. In the final hours of His earthly life, as He hung on the Cross, Jesus made seven statements—each teaching us more about Him and His character. This Easter, we looked at his phrase, "It is finished (Telestai)."
This message was presented to Citipointe Church West on Sunday 28th January 2024 by guest preacher Ps Geoff Woodward from Metro Church. Ps Geoff shows us how to Just Go and not worry about how to get there because God already has made the way.
Pastor Jason takes a look at the letter Jesus wrote to the Church in Smyrna, and we learn about the three things He calls them–and Metro Church–to be. Then we remember how Jesus died and came to life again through communion.

If the supremacy of Jesus is to be seen in the church in the West, then it means learning how to live together as Christ's followers from those who come from different backgrounds than us. In the West, Caucasians still make up the majority of the culture, but as our culture becomes more and more diverse, it becomes imperative that we learn to listen and learn from our brothers and sisters from around the world so that we might together be the people God intended, a sign of heaven. Often times that is not the case for those who come from different cultural backgrounds, but who were born and live in the United States. Today, we welcome, Linson Daniel and Sabrina Chan to the show, two of the four authors of the book, Learning Our Names: Asian American Christians on Identity, Relationships, and Vocation (IVP, 2022) (Sabrina Chan, Linson Daniel, LA Thao, E. David de Leon). They help us to see the unique obstacles and experiences that second-generation Asians face as they attempt to navigate the majority Caucasian cultural landscape of the United States and the church. They write from diverse perspectives within the Asian Christian community (East Asian, Southeast Asian, and South Asian) giving a unique insight into a growing and significant group. It is a conversation that helps inform and enlighten, but also carries an invitation to learn and grow in what it means to be a disciple of Jesus in a multicultural world so that the glory of Christ might shine forth. If you are from a cultural background other than Asian, listen in as they discuss their unique challenges. For those who are from Asian American backgrounds, it is an encouragement to share your story. Linson Daniel is Associate Pastor of METRO Church with locations in Frisco and Farmers Branch, TX. The son of Indian Immigrants from Kerala, he was born in Mesquite, TX. He is a married father of two. Learn more about Linson.Sabrina S.
