Walker Montgomery, chosen as an Artist to Watch in 2022 by Country Now and Music Mayhem Magazine; as well as Artist to Watch in 2021 by Sounds Like Nashville and The Boot and a Country Next pick by Country Now, is a rising singer/songwriter who knows a thing or two about family tradition, but he's an artist making his own legacy. The 21-year-old son of John Michael Montgomery and nephew of Montgomery Gentry's Eddie Montgomery, the emerging star was raised away from the spotlight in Nicholasville, Kentucky. But now that he's found that spotlight on his own, Montgomery's pedigree is matched only by his country passion. Signed to Play It Again Entertainment and produced by the multi-award-winning chart-topping team known to the world as The Peach Pickers – Dallas Davidson; Ben Hayslip; and Rhett Akins (who have nearly 80 No. 1 songs between them)– he's already put his classically-inspired, honey-bourbon vocal to use on a self-penned hit debut (“Simple Town,” over 4 Million Spotify streams).--- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/backporchsippinpod/support

At nine-years old, Willa Amai began her journey writing songs about heartbreaks she had yet to experience, losses she had never felt, and social injustices she didn't even know existed. With an eclectic mix of inspirations - from Regina Spektor records played during bath time to the poetry books her parents read to her - this Los Angeles native quickly amassed a body of work revealing lyrical complexity far beyond her years. She also created imaginative melodies, something she partly attributes to synesthesia (a neurological phenomenon in which one sense triggers the perception of another sense, such as seeing letters and words as color). At the age of 12, she caught the eye of Linda Perry and reaping the rewards of industry insiders (Dolly Parton, Brandi Carlile) and leaders (The Today Show and The Ellen DeGeneres Show) alike thanks to the watchful eye and curation of the artist development of Linda Perry herself. Now 17, Willa has begun sharing her music with the world, showing the extraordinary depth of her narrative voice and the subtle power of her songwriting. “When I'm writing it's almost like I'm turning on a radio,” she says. “It might take a few songs to find a station that comes through, but once I do find it, it's just right. It's like the song already exists and my job is to pull it out of the air and into the world.” I Can Go To Bed Whenever is Willa's eagerly awaited first album releasing June 4, produced by Linda Perry and recorded in Los Angeles at Perry's Greenleaf Studios. The album's focus track "Too Close" comes out the same day as the album. We are so excited to bring you this episode as we chat to Willa about an incredible journey through her music and about her own struggles with Anxiety in the past. Listen in as we hear Willa share how her song writing reflects her own struggles and reality of the places and moments she herself has been in. Hey guys and welcome to another episode of Tanvir Talks! Join me, your host Tanvir, and my trusted co-host, Ehsan, in the latest Tanvir Talks episode where we discuss: Facebook banning news in Australia (3:24) Facebook recently banned sharing news in Australia. Why did they take such a drastic action? Were Facebook right to do that? Ehsan and I discuss these questions and more, like Google's response to Australia and how publishers can earn revenue through Google and Facebook (could a model like Brave reward system work?). We also have a throw back to Europe's terrible failed meme of a law, Article 13. What we've been watching (28:19) Ehsan talks about his talk that he watched by Bill Gates, How to Avoid a Climate Disaster. I talk about a more trivial show, Alice in Borderlands. Citi Bank's $900 million blunder (38:50) Citi Bank recently lost a lawsuit trying to recoup the $900 million accidentally transferred to the wrong individuals. How and why did Citi Bank transfer $900 million to the wrong people? Terrible UI, that's why. Also, a regular reminder that you work chats are monitored. Spotify and K-Pop disagreement (44:46) Recently Spotify and a K-Pop music distributer got into a contract dispute, meaning a large amount of K-Pop songs were removed off Spotify. Another reminder that you don't own the music you subscribe for. Also, another shout out to Tidal, as well as Spotify Hi-Fi. Apple and Facebook fight over privacy and cookies (48:29) Facebook is in a bit of a huff with Apple about user tracking. We talk about advertisor ID's and why you should care about them. Is tracking bad? What will happen if we stop tracking altogether for ads? Ehsan and I dig deeper. Contact me! Together with American Songwriter and Sean Ulbs of The Eiffels, we had the pleasure of interviewing Willa Amai over Zoom video! Sixteen-year-old music phenom Willa Amai is closing 2020 with enthusiastic acclaim to press and public. Amai busy with promoting her current single “Unorganized Crime,” recorded her broody Christmas single simply titled “DECEMBER.” It was decided that it was apropos to be put out this year especially with Amai’s lyric base for the song speaking of troubled times over the holiday season. Little did they know the song would lead to year end success. Amai retorts about the meaning of the song “DECEMBER” as a Christmas song with a melancholy mood that battles with the acceptance of loneliness and remembrance in a time of joy and love. It’s about learning to be okay with yourself and with being alone and finding happiness in who you already are."The accolade continues as the video that was a last-minute production directed by Amai’s legendary manager, Linda Perry, was meant to just live on the internet for Amai’s fans has taken a big notice at MTV. “DECEMBER” has now been added to Nick Music’s Fresh Faces New Artist Block, MTV LIVEand MTV’s Spankin’ New Channels. “DECEMBER” will get a healthy viewing with Nick Music’s built in 36 Million households and MTV LIVE’s 42 million households. MTV also asked Amai to be their first artist to kick off their #ALONETOGETHER JAM Sessions. “We were shocked and overwhelmed to see the pick-up, but we are proud of Willa! Her work is definitely paying off,” vaunts Perry! At the ripe age of 12 ½ years old, the young singer-songwriter caught the eye of Perry. Now at the age of 16, Amai is reaping the rewards of industry insiders (Dolly Parton, Brandi Carlile) and leaders (The Today Show and The Ellen DeGeneres Show) alike thanks to the watchful eye and curation of the artist development of Perry herself.Amai will be releasing several more singles into an album to be released in 2021. As Amai continues to rise, the industry will undoubtedly notice and the fans will soak in her honesty. If truth is what Perry was looking for, well she hit the motherload. For More Information on Willa Amai: Facebook - www.facebook.com/WillaAmaiInstagram - www.instagram.com/willaamaiTwitter - www.twitter.com/willaamaiYoutube- 6 Million +, www.youtube.com/c/WillaAmaiApple Streams- 2.1 Million +Spotify- 3.8 Million +Shazam- 58.5K, #1 Most Shazamed Song We want to hear from you!
