The triumphant return of Nick Gregorio ladies and gentlemen!! It's a beautiful thing when we're together and it felt great to be back with the trifecta around the table again. This time it was to discuss Kendrick Lamar's already iconic 2017 release "DAMN." The boys dig into the album and heap some praise on a more than deserving record. Oh and we find out where Gregorio has been the past 3 weeks. (Hint: It WASN'T to hang with Karl Pilkington)
New Year, New Format! For 2018 we here at Book.Record.Beer have decided to make this a weekly event! Now, join us EVERY FRIDAY for the first 3 weeks of the month for a short cast focused on a short story (or album). Then the last week of the month our usual cast focused on a book, album, and beer, along with our cover of one of the songs from the record will hit the airwaves. We hope this new format opens both our listeners and our own eyes and ears to new and interested literature and music. Please don't hesitate to send feedback and suggestions to our social media accounts on both Twitter and Instagram. And as always, Book.Record.Beer is hosted by Philadelphian teachers, writers and musicians, Nick Mehalick, Daniel DiFranco, and Nick Gregorio and we thank you for listening.
Fuck Valentine's Day. This episode, the dudes dig-up the angst and discomfort associated with all things “lovey-dovey” as we discuss Nick Hornby's “High Fidelity” and perform Elvis Costello's “I'm Not Angry” off of his album “My Aim Is True.” We also dive into our very first stout, the all too scrumptious Samuel Smith's Oatmeal Stout, as we review our “Top 5” debut books and albums lists. Join us for a light (and sometimes heavy) discussion about love, music, and how to not be an asshole, or at least be less of one. Cheers! *BONUS: Also enjoy an outtake of Nick Gregorio's attempt at a social media pitch whilst Daniel DeFranco gobbles popcorn. Hilarity guaranteed.
