Ravaged by political corruption, decades of mass murder, unfettered human trafficking, and a spiraling fentanyl crisis, Mexico is a “fragile narco-state,” says Brandon Darby, co-founder of Breitbart's Border and Cartel Chronicles. While Mexican media and journalists are silenced by fear of cartel retribution, Darby has spent years exposing atrocities like the mass graves found miles from our southern border, giving a voice to a nation ignored and terrorized into silence. Darby criticizes U.S. diplomatic efforts focused on reforming Mexico's justice system and depicts a U.S.-Mexico border rife with lawlessness and violence, urging Trump to enact border policies that “treat the cartels like we treat al-Qaeda” and not to forget that “China is courting Mexico.” For more of Brandon's reporting, visit: https://www.breitbart.com/author/brandon-darby/ GLENN'S SPONSORS American Financing American Financing can show you how to put your hard-earned equity to work and get you out of debt. Ravaged by 30 years of civil war, Cambodia is littered with anti-personnel mines. Every year, they kill and injure civilians, despite the government destroying 4 million landmines since the 1990s. Today, more than 5,000 people around the country are working to neutralise the millions of mines left buried in the ground, while a Belgian NGO has pioneered the use of rats to sniff them out. In November 2024, Cambodia hosted the Fifth Review Conference of the Ottawa Convention, a treaty ratified by 164 countries that aims to ban the use of these deadly weapons worldwide. FRANCE 24's William de Tamaris, Aruna Popuri and Justin McCurry report.
Like any battle-hardened warrior, Care Tuk wore her scars like a badge of honor. She's found her life turned upside down as she lived through 14 separate bouts with cancer, a near-death car crash, a brain bleed that left her speechless and nearly immobile. Ravaged by the painful side effects of DES (Diethylstilbestrol) - an experimental drug intended to save her life she kept going. Her body was held together by bolts, screws, titanium plates, and 25-pound mono-filament fishing line. Now ass infertility issues, adoption, and unexpected death of her daughter and unborn granddaughter, she kept going forward. Then her rock, her best friend, her husband Bill died of cancer. Obstacles and adversity were common to Care Tuk as she turned challenges into opportunities and difficulties into adventures. Doing it with God's help is the cornerstone of her walk in faith. Care's story for anyone facing adversity in life. It's for those who have come to the end of themselves, struggling through circumstances far out of their control. Her message is of strength, hope, and how she overcame the odds to find the meaning in it all. https://directory.libsyn.com/episode/index/id/33666692 - 600 October 29, 2024 https://directory.libsyn.com/episode/index/id/28840883 - 500 November 28, 2023 https://directory.libsyn.com/episode/index/id/24735423 - 300 October 19, 2022 https://directory.libsyn.com/episode/index/id/22869146 - 99 October 24. 2021

Ingrid Jackson had never lived in a trailer before, or a small town. She was born in Louisville, Ky., the daughter of a man with schizophrenia who, in 1983, decapitated a 76-year-old woman. Jackson was 1 at the time. In 2010, at 27, she was in a car accident and was prescribed pain pills. Not long after that, she began using heroin. Over the next decade she went through nine rounds of addiction rehab. Each ended in relapse. Her most recent attempt came in 2022 after her son was sentenced to life in prison for murder; he was 21.In eastern Kentucky, a region that is plagued by poverty and is at the heart of the country's opioid epidemic, the burden of addressing this treatment gap has mainly been taken up by addiction-rehab companies. Many stand more like community centers or churches than like medical clinics, offering not just chemical but also spiritual and logistical services with the aim of helping people in addiction find employment and re-enter society. The reintroduction of the Bald Eagle in North America is justifiably counted among the world's great conservation success stories. Ravaged by DDT, the Bald Eagle was on the brink of extirpation in the United States by the 60s. As a young college student, Tina Morris played a large role in bringing this impressive bird back to the eastern United States, nursing young birds in upstate New York. Her memoir Return to the Sky: The Surprising Story of How One Woman and Seven Eaglets Helped Restore the Bald Eagle, documents these efforts. She joins us to talk about it. Also, Nate is back from Georgia with a rare bird finding story. [Honoring our brother, Hayne Griffin, who's been doing the Lord's work, with Hayne, Stoy, Amy and Joey] During the night of the 26th of September, Hurricane Helene took western North Carolina by storm, pun intended. What would follow is complete devastation of houses, businesses, electricity, dependable water supply, roads, and human life. Hear Hayne's story of that night on duty as a firefighter, 16 years experience in his field, as he went to bed anticipating a busy night. He just never in his wildest dreams could have imagined. Amy, Joey and Stoy sit with Hayne to hear his story, check in on their pal who's carrying a lot right now. They ask clarifying questions to get a clear sense of the current conditions and together reflect on societal observations, including the difference between "people being irresponsible in dangerous situations" and "people simply uneducated and/or lacking the resources to stay safe." Hayne and his family are in the middle of processing the horror and beauty all around them. Special thanks to Hayne, rescue workers and volunteers who help keep us safe. Even when we're dumb. The conversation wraps on some theology about God and prayer, in the context of natural disasters. But we hit the pause button before we got too far down that road, as we're saving that portion for a part II. We wanted Hayne's story to stand on its own two, on this one. A combination of floods and droughts is currently hitting China. Between January and June this year, the damage caused by natural disasters in China is alleged to cost around $13 billion. Yet while the recent disasters are being framed as a once-in-a-decade incident, a look back reveals that a similar barrage of floods and droughts have hit China for the last several years, also causing large-scale damage—not only to homes and infrastructure, but also to the food supply. We'll discuss in this episode of Crossroads. Views expressed in this video are opinions of the host and guests, and do not necessarily reflect the views of The Epoch Times. ⭕️
