Immeasurably More // New Identity Ephesians 4:17-32 (NIV)“So I tell you this, and insist on it in the Lord, that you must no longer live as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their thinking. They are darkened in their understanding and separated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them due to the hardening of their hearts. Having lost all sensitivity, they have given themselves over to sensuality so as to indulge in every kind of impurity, and they are full of greed. That, however, is not the way of life you learned when you heard about Christ and were taught in him in accordance with the truth that is in Jesus. You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness. Therefore each of you must put off falsehood and speak truthfully to your neighbor, for we are all members of one body. “In your anger do not sin”: Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry, and do not give the devil a foothold. Anyone who has been stealing must steal no longer, but must work, doing something useful with their own hands, that they may have something to share with those in need. Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.”  1.     In Christ, We Have a New Identity. Ephesians 4:22 (NIV)“You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires.” Ephesians 4:24 (NIV)“And to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.” Colossians 3:9-10 (NIV)“…You have taken off your old self with its practices and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator.” Romans 13:12, 14 (NIV)“…Let us put aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light. Rather, clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not think about how to gratify the desires of the flesh.”  Ephesians 4:1 (NIV)“…I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received.”  Matthew 6:8 (ESV)“Do not be like them…” Romans 12:2 (NIV)"Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” 2.    In Christ We Should be Honest and Not Lie.  Ephesians 4:25 (NIV)“Therefore, each of you must put off falsehood and speak truthfully to your neighbor, for we are all members of one body.” Christians Are to Have Righteous Anger, Not Unrighteous. Ephesians 4:26-27 (NIV)“In your anger do not sin”: Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry, and do not give the devil a foothold.” Psalm 4:4 (ESV)“Be angry, and do not sin; ponder in your own hearts on your beds, and be silent.” Psalm 119:53 (ESV)“Hot indignation seizes me because of the wicked, who forsake your law.” Mark 3:5 (ESV)“And he looked around at them with anger, grieved at their hardness of heart…” Christians Are to Work, Be Generous, and Not Steal. Ephesians 4:28 (NIV)“Anyone who has been stealing must steal no longer, but must work, doing something useful with their own hands, that they may have something to share with those in need.” Christians are to Replace Corrupt Talk with Edifying Talk. Ephesians 4:29 (NIV)“Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.” Ephesians 4:30 (NIV)“And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.”     Christians are to Replace Bitterness and Rage with Kindness and Forgiveness. Ephesians 4:31-32 (NIV)“Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Message Notes: So if you consider me a partner, welcome him as you would me. (18)And if he has wronged you in any way, or owes you anything, charge that to my account. (19) I, Paul, write this with my own hand: I will repay it — not to mention to you that you owe me even your very self. (20)Yes, brother, may I benefit from you in the Lord; refresh my heart in Christ. (21)Since I am confident of your obedience, I am writing to you, KNOWING that you will do EVEN MORE than I say. (22) Meanwhile, also prepare a guest room for me, since I hope that through your prayers I will be restored to you. —Philemon 17-21 (CSB) At that moment the Lord turned and looked at Peter. Suddenly, the Lord's words flashed through Peter's mind: “Before the rooster crows tomorrow morning, you will deny three times that you even know me.” - Luke 22:61 (NLT) (14) This was now the third time Jesus appeared to his disciples after he was raised from the dead. (15) When they had finished eating, Jesus said to Simon Peter, "Simon son of John, do you truly love me more than these?" "Yes, Lord," he said, "you know that I love you." Jesus said, "Feed my lambs." (16) Again Jesus said, "Simon son of John, do you truly love me?" He answered, "Yes, Lord, you know that I love you." Jesus said, "Take care of my sheep." (17) The third time he said to him, "Simon son of John, do you love me?" Peter was hurt because Jesus asked him the third time, "Do you love me?" He said, "Lord, you know all things; you know that I love you." Jesus said, "Feed my sheep. - John 21: 14-18 (NIV) Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you. - Ephesians 4:31-32 So what's are THE SPIRITUAL fruits that we must have as believers on dealing with a brother or sister who has wronged you? 1. Love “Love is our trademark.” “by this all people will know you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.” - John 13:35 (ESV) True love is not appealing. True love is on the contrary of our world view (I'm only going to love those that love me.) If I speak in tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but not love, I am nothing. If I give away all I have, and if I deliver up my body to be burned, but have not love, I gain nothing. Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. - 1 Corinthians 13:1–8a (ESV) 2. Forbearance (meaning self-control and restraining from taking action) The Lord will fight for you while you (only need to) keep silent and remain calm: - Exodus 14:14 God knows how to deal with our situations “My dear brothers and sisters, take not of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, 20. Because human anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires. 21. Therefore, get rid of all moral filth and the evil that is so prevalent and humbly accept the word planted in you which can save you.” - James 1:19 - 21 “Be quick to listen to God's thoughts on a matter, slow to speak your own point of view, and slow to anger, you should not like what God has to say in contrast to your own human perspective.” - Dr. Tony Evans 3. Gentleness Let your gentle spirit (your graciousness, unselfish, mercy, tolerance, and patience) be known to all people. The Lord is near. - Philippians 4:5 (AMP) I will say to the Lord,”My refuge and my fortress, My God, in whom I trust!” - Psalm 91:2 WHAT GOD RESTORES HE MAKES BETTER!

"Dear diary, My dad's having an affair! It all started a week ago when I stayed home from school. I was sick and was curled up in my bed, trying to fall asleep. A soft knock on the front door made me sit up, and I wondered who could be knocking at 10 am. Mum was home, and I tiptoed and peeked out the window. A sleek black car was parked in front of our house—a tall woman dressed in a dark trousers and a nice top stood there—she had short dark hair and her skin was nicely tanned—she looked very pretty.  “Yes, can I help you?” Mum smiled. “Is Drew home?” she asked, looking at her surroundings. “Drew? As in my husband?” The woman nodded slowly. “I'm looking for him.” She said. “Sorry, he's at work, but if you leave a message and a name I can get him to call you back?” The woman stared at mum for a few seconds. Then she mumbled something and hurried off. I stood at the window a little longer and watched her get into her car and drive off. Slowly, I made my way back to bed, totally confused about this woman. I mean, isn't is odd that she mumbled something and didn't tell my mother her name or why she was looking for dad?" Today on Bible archives we are looking at Stephen, who was one of the young people chosen to carry out the work of God. The first church back in the disciples' time was growing in numbers and the apostles could not keep up with preaching and caring for people, so they decided to seek help. Stephen, a young man full of faith and the Holy Spirit, consecrated in soul and spirit, began the gospel with power, and the church grew and multiplied in Jerusalem. Many obeyed the faith. But sadly, he was hated by many and was killed!  Listen to the full episode to see what happens.                         ___________________________________ Visit our website Pre-order the Royal Palace Get the gratitude journal Sign up to our GIGI notes SHOP OUR BOOKS  eBook library Artist of the month: Riley Clemmons  Verse of the month: Ephesians 4:31-32 (NIV) Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. 32 Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you. "Days and months passed, and we were slowly getting comfortable with our new lives. After living there about a year, this neighbour stopped ignoring us and started standing outside the gate, hands on hips, swearing at us. Every day, the same thing. We were pretty offended and annoyed, to say the least! We felt like we couldn't step out in peace ever again. One day she even followed my sister to school, yelling rude things at her. When we returned from school, we told my mum what happened. Mum said not to worry because God would fight for us, and to leave everything in his hands. What??! Why can't we do something to stop her?" Bitterness. Now, that's a big word. With the state of today's world it can be easy to let an offense come in, like a seed in our hearts. When it grows, it can take our joy. But, God's word has a remedy. When we allow it to lead us, it will navigate us through the tension, into peace and fulfillment. Today's message will go into our hearts, like medicine for our souls. Take a deep breath, great days are ahead.Hebrews 12:15 NLT - Watch out that no poisonous root of bitterness grows up to trouble you, corrupting many. Genesis 4:4b-8 NLT - The LORD accepted Abel and his gift, but he did not accept Cain and his gift. This made Cain very angry, and he looked dejected. “Why are you so angry?” the LORD asked Cain. “Why do you look so dejected? You will be accepted if you do what is right. But if you refuse to do what is right, then watch out! Sin is crouching at the door, eager to control you. But you must subdue it and be its master.” One day Cain suggested to his brother, “Let's go out into the fields.” And while they were in the field, Cain attacked his brother, Abel, and killed him. Ephesians 4:27 MSG - Don't go to bed angry. Don't give the Devil that kind of foothold in your life. Ephesians 4:27 AMP - “And do not give the devil an opportunity [to lead you into sin by holding a grudge, or nurturing anger, or harboring resentment, or cultivating bitterness].” Ephesians 4:31-32 NIV - Get rid of all bitterness, rage, anger, harsh words, and slander, as well as all types of evil behavior. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you. Colossians 3:13 NLT - Make allowance for each other's faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others. Ruth 1:8 NLT - “Don't call me Naomi,” she responded. “Instead, call me Mara, for the Almighty has made life very bitter for me.” Luke 23:34 ISV - Jesus kept saying, "Father, forgive them, because they don't know what they're doing." Genesis 50:19-21 TLB - But Joseph told them, “Don't be afraid of me. Am I God, to judge and punish you? As far as I am concerned, God turned into good what you meant for evil, for he brought me to this high position I have today so that I could save the lives of many people. No, don't be afraid. Indeed, I myself will take care of you and your families.” And he spoke very kindly to them, reassuring them.Welcome Home. We're Glad You're Here Our desire is for you to live your best life now. We believe being committed to a church is the greatest way for that to happen. Jesus created you to belong to a church family, where you grow in your relationship with Him. All at once an angel touched him and said, “Get up and eat.” He looked around, and there by his head was some bread baked over hot coals, and a jar of water. He ate and drank and then lay down again. 1 Kings 19:3-18 (NIV) Listen to YOUR BODY The angel of the Lord came back a second time and touched him and said, “Get up and eat, for the journey is too much for you.” So he got up and ate and drank. 1 Kings 19:3-18 (NIV) Find a HEALTHY RHYTHM There remains, then, a Sabbath-rest for the people of God; for anyone who enters God's rest also rests from their works, just as God did from his. Let us, therefore, make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one will perish by following their example of disobedience. Hebrews 4:9-11 (NIV) Strengthened by that food, he traveled forty days and forty nights until he reached Horeb, the mountain of God. There he went into a cave and spent the night. And the word of the Lord came to him: “What are you doing here, Elijah?” The Lord said, “Go out and stand on the mountain in the presence of the Lord, for the Lord is about to pass by.” 1 Kings 19:3-18 (NIV) Get in the PRESENCE OF GOD Then a great and powerful wind tore the mountains apart and shattered the rocks before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind. After the wind there was an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake. After the earthquake came a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire. And after the fire came a gentle whisper. When Elijah heard it, he pulled his cloak over his face and went out and stood at the mouth of the cave. Then a voice said to him, “What are you doing here, Elijah?” …The Lord said to him, “Go back the way you came, and go to the Desert of Damascus. When you get there, anoint Hazael king over Aram. 1 Kings 19:3-18 (NIV) Discover HIS PURPOSE for your life Also, anoint Jehu son of Nimshi king over Israel, and anoint Elisha son of Shaphat from Abel Meholah to succeed you as prophet… Yet I reserve seven thousand in Israel—all whose knees have not bowed down to Baal and whose mouths have not kissed him.” 1 Kings 19:3-18 (NIV) Relax… and trust that God is in control. But you, Lord, are a shield around me, my glory, the One who lifts my head high. I call out to the Lord, and he answers me from his holy mountain. Psalm 3:3-4 (NIV) “Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you'll recover your life. I'll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won't lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you'll learn to live freely and lightly.” Matthew 11:28-30 (MSG)

It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery. Mark my words! I, Paul, tell you that if you let yourselves be circumcised, Christ will be of no value to you at all. Again I declare to every man who lets himself be circumcised that he is obligated to obey the whole law. You who are trying to be justified by the law have been alienated from Christ; you have fallen away from grace. For through the Spirit we eagerly await by faith the righteousness for which we hope. For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision has any value. The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love. You were running a good race. Who cut in on you to keep you from obeying the truth? You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love. For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” If you bite and devour each other, watch out or you will be destroyed by each other. So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever you want. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. Galatians 5:1-18 (NIV) For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. Ephesians 2:8-10 (NIV) You are not saved BY YOUR WORKS… you are saved FOR GOOD WORKS. In a large house there are articles not only of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay; some are for special purposes and some for common use. Those who cleanse themselves from the latter will be instruments for special purposes, made holy, useful to the Master and prepared to do any good work. Flee the evil desires of youth and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, along with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart. Don't have anything to do with foolish and stupid arguments, because you know they produce quarrels. And the Lord's servant must not be quarrelsome but must be kind to everyone, able to teach, not resentful. Opponents must be gently instructed, in the hope that God will grant them repentance leading them to a knowledge of the truth, and that they will come to their senses and escape from the trap of the devil, who has taken them captive to do his will. 2 Timothy 2:22-26 (NIV) Surrender Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Romans 12:1-6 (NIV) Learn a new way to live Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the faith God has distributed to each of you. Romans 12:1-6 (NIV) Get to work For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. Romans 12:1-6 (NIV) Live with the end in mind For we are co-workers in God's service; you are God's field, God's building. By the grace God has given me, I laid a foundation as a wise builder, and someone else is building on it. But each one should build with care. For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ. If anyone builds on this foundation using gold, silver, costly stones, wood, hay or straw, their work will be shown for what it is, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test the quality of each person's work. If what has been built survives, the builder will receive a reward. If it is burned up, the builder will suffer loss but yet will be saved—even though only as one escaping through the flames. 1 Corinthians 3:9-15 (NIV) For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each of us may receive what is due us for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad. 2 Corinthians 5:10 (NIV) “Look, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to each person according to what they have done.” Revelation 22:12 (NIV)

Our mission: To lead people into a new life of freedom in Jesus. Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it. Proverbs 4:23 (NIV) Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you. Ephesians 4:31-33 (NIV) The Goal = to dislodge unforgiveness from our hearts. IT DOESN'T WORK. OUR FREEDOM IS WAITING. How do we dislodge unforgiveness from our hearts? Know what forgiveness is NOT. Do all that you can to live in peace with everyone. Dear friends, never take revenge. Leave that to the righteous anger of God. For the Scriptures say, “I will take revenge; I will pay them back,” says the Lord. Instead, “If your enemies are hungry, feed them. If they are thirsty, give them something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals of shame on their heads.” Don't let evil conquer you, but conquer evil by doing good. Romans 12:17-21 (NIV) Forgiveness is not about forgetting... It's about your freedom. Trust God's heart for you. And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them. Romans 8:28 (NLT) Acknowledge the hurt. The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. Psalm 34:17-18 (NIV) Recognize the real enemy. Anyone you forgive, I also forgive. And what I have forgiven—if there was anything to forgive—I have forgiven in the sight of Christ for your sake, in order that Satan might not outwit us. For we are not unaware of his schemes. 2 Corinthians 2:10-11 (NIV) Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you. Ephesians 4:31-33 (NIV) Don't wait for a feeling. “You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.' But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you…” Matthew 5:43-44 (NIV) For we live by faith, not by sight. 2 Corinthians 5:7  (NIV) Choices lead… feelings follow. Remember what YOU have been forgiven of. The Lord is compassionate and merciful, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love. He will not constantly accuse us, nor remain angry forever. He does not punish us for all our sins; he does not deal harshly with us, as we deserve. For his unfailing love toward those who fear him is as great as the height of the heavens above the earth. He has removed our sins as far from us as the east is from the west. Psalm 103:8-12 (NLT) Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, “Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother or sister who sins against me? Up to seven times?” Jesus answered, “I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times. “Therefore, the kingdom of heaven is like a king who wanted to settle accounts with his servants. As he began the settlement, a man who owed him ten thousand bags of gold was brought to him. Since he was not able to pay, the master ordered that he and his wife and his children and all that he had be sold to repay the debt. “At this the servant fell on his knees before him. ‘Be patient with me,' he begged, ‘and I will pay back everything.' The servant's master took pity on him, canceled the debt and let him go. “But when that servant went out, he found one of his fellow servants who owed him a hundred silver coins. He grabbed him and began to choke him. ‘Pay back what you owe me!' he demanded. “His fellow servant fell to his knees and begged him, ‘Be patient with me, and I will pay it back.' “But he refused. Instead, he went off and had the man thrown into prison until he could pay the debt. When the other servants saw what had happened, they were outraged and went and told their master everything that had happened. “Then the master called the servant in. ‘You wicked servant,' he said, ‘I canceled all that debt of yours because you begged me to. Shouldn't you have had mercy on your fellow servant just as I had on you?' In anger his master handed him over to the jailers to be tortured, until he should pay back all he owed. “This is how my heavenly Father will treat each of you unless you forgive your brother or sister from your heart.” Matthew 18:21-35  (NIV)
