Heeelllooo and Welcome back for Season 3 Episode 1. We cannot believe we have been doing this for 2 entire years now - thats borderline outrageous behavior from us.And, we're back for season three with an announcement! We'll be partnering up with Love.Fútball for a first annual Footy Banter 5-a-side Tournament on Saturday, September 14th. We'll be running this at JJ Walker Park in the West Village, and we'll have a cash prize for the winning team which we'll match with a donation to Love.Football. Hit us up if you're interested in starting or joining a team!As for the episode, it was the annual tradition: blindly predicting the upcoming Premier League Season with significant time left in the transfer window, and little to no idea what will actually transpire. But, you gotta try ... right?

The Double Pivot: Soccer analysis, analytics, and commentary
The relegation race, such as it is, is defined by the historic weakness of the promoted teams and the 10-point deduction taken by Everton. We put the weakness of Sheffield United, Luton Town and Burnley in recent historical context and talk about how we remain relatively unconcerned about Fulham, Bournemouth and even Everton despite those teams being in situations that would make them serious relegation fodder in a normal season.Support the show

An unusually subdued atmosphere at St James' Park as Newcastle United took on bottom of the Premier League Southampton. Another game of two halves, which resulted in us keeping our third place and Champions League spot, as well as almost resigning The Saints to relegation. In the end we scored 3, but Southampton gave us a scare, especially in the first half. However, Eddie Howe changed up the team at half time which saw a change in mentality, some top quality goals, and lots more to talk about! With last season's unbelievable atmosphere, we welcome back Arsenal this weekend, for another game at St James' Park. With The Gunners still battling for the Premier League Title, and looking for revenge for us halting their Champions League dreams last season, this is likely to be a fixture to remember. Guest: Joe Crann – The Star Sheffield Journalist Arsenal could return to the top of the Premier League table if they can pick up a much-needed three points against Chelsea tonight. The title shifted into Manchester City's hands in Arsenal's last outing, with Mikel Arteta's side losing 4-1 at the Etihad, making it four consecutive games without a win. After City's victory over Fulham on the weekend, Pep Guardiola's side overtook the Gunners into first, but Mikel Arteta's side could move back to the top when they face an out-of-form Chelsea. The Blues haven't won in their last eight games across all competitions, with Frank Lampard's side 12th in the Premier League table with an extremely tough run of fixtures ahead. Arsenal have won their last three clashes against the Blues in the Premier League, with Gabriel scoring the only goal in a 1-0 win in the last meeting.
THIS WEEK ON THE JERSEY WALL... The boys are back to discuss the many exciting races in the Premier League. With fourteen matches played since last Preview episode, the Premier League has been busy. Manchester City beat Liverpool 4-1 while Arsenal beat Leeds by the same scoreline, thus seeing no movement at the very top of the Premier League Table. With Newcastle United victorious over Manchester United, Eddie Howe's side leapfrogged Manchester United and are currently sitting third in the league table. Huge results from Bournemouth, Crystal Palace, West Ham, and Everton have caused big movement in the bottom half of the table. The bottom half of the table is far more open than the top, with nine teams all fighting to avoid relegation. Ramifications from results this weekend saw two managers lose their jobs. Brendon Rodgers and Graham Potter were both relieved of their duties at Leicester and Chelsea respectively. Check out what the boys think about the games that have been played. Drop a comment below and let us know what you watched this weekend. Do you think any of the results towards the bottom of the table will be a springboard for the remainder of the season? The big story of the day was Liverpool's confident win over Leicester that saw the champions go joint top of the Premier League Table once again. We discuss all the talking points including what makes Liverpool different from every other team, how Leicester weren't as far off the mark as the scoreline indicates, and why Jurgen Klopp's side are on course to add a couple of major additions to their trophy cabinet this season. But first, we break down the full slate of Premier League action from around the country including the return of Everton's exciting front three, another three points for a steadily-improving West Ham side, and the unfortunate performance of Nicolas Pepe on what could otherwise have been seen as a positive day for Arsenal given the circumstances.
