After Tottenham's greatest triumph in over thirty years, it appeared that the dark cloud that loomed over White Hart Lane might be subsiding. However, the chairman of the board decided that Ange Postecoglou was no longer fit to lead the men's team forward after their worst league performance in a long time. The triumph in Europe was not enough to save his job and now Tottenham will look to new Head Coach Thomas Frank, formerly of Brentford, to lead them into a new ear. Also in this episode, a look forward to the Club World Cup. Southampton accomplished the only thing left for them in this season's league campaign, getting above 11 points and the shared title of 'worst ever season' that accompanies that point total. A game that looked like a mountain to climb was just that, as the deposed champions Manchester City dominated the game but failed to find the goal that would have won the game. Chelsea were hoping that their good form would carry them in their match against another team hot on the trot, Newcastle. Unfortunately, their hopes for Champions League football were dashed as Newcastle took all three points. Forest also dropped points as they suffered a late draw against already relegated Leicester. After Liverpool wrapped up the championship last weekend against Spurs, the question coming into Round 35 would be if the fierce Liverpool from the totality of the season would surface or would they take their foot off the gas. As the dust settled on the weekend, and Chelsea were victorious against the Champions, it would indicate that Liverpool took the weekend off. Southampton also failed to cash in on their best opportunity to overtake Derby County's record for least points scored in the Premier League history. Fellow EFL Championship side, Leicester, were 2-0 winners against the EPL'd minnows. Arsenal's defeat against Bournemouth leaves 2nd place wide open for the chasing pack, could Arsenal slip out of the Champion's League qualification spots? Let us know in the comments below. With only four games left in their Premier League season, Southampton have the chance to become the joint worst ever team in the history of the top flight of English football. Should Southampton fail to pick up a point in their last four games, they would equal Derby County's dubious performance from the 2007/2008 season. A match against Leicester might represent their best opportunity to get a point, as fellow relegated club Leicester are on a terrible run of form. After 34 games in the 38 game season, Liverpool have dethroned Manchester City and are the 2024/2025 Premier League Champions. A season that started with Liverpool being a dark horse, in what most believed would be a third consecutive battle between City and Arsenal, has seen Liverpool overcome all obstacles to be crowned champions. This week, RCR welcomes Jimmy to help break down this monumental feat and brag on the Red's as they celebrate their second Premier League title and record tying 20th first division title. This is the weekend that the Premier League could be won by Liverpool. After Arsenal failed to win against Crystal Palace midweek, a single point will crown Liverpool title champions. A face off against beleaguered Tottenham at Anfield could see the Red's win their second Premier League Title (though, their 20th first division title). In the cup, Crystal Palace and Aston Villa face off in the first semifinal while Nottingham Forest and Manchester City face off in the second. Conventional wisdom would put City as the odds favorite to win the Cup, but in the Cup anything is possible. After a thrilling mid week slate of fixtures, the EPL returns with the Manchester Derby. In a relatively strange circumstance surrounding this fixture, neither teams are - at this point - playing for the title. United will look to add three points to try and salvage their miserable season and City will hope to qualify for next season's Champions League. A fixture with relegation implications between Ipswich and Wolves could allow Ipswich to hold onto a glimmer of hope, or essentially relegate them with a loss. Villa and Forest both hold hopes of qualifying for next season's Champions League, a win for Forest would go a long way in securing that for them. We go over Larson's attempt at sweeping the NASCAR weekend down in Miami. We're making our picks and previewing Martinsville coming up next. We review the action from IndyCar's race at Thermal. F1 was in China and the drama is heating up, the racing action though, not so much. NHRA was in Arizona and they head to Pomona next. Thanks for tuning in!
It is becoming increasingly likely that Trent Alexander-Arnold will not resign with Liverpool and join Real Madrid on a free this summer. How did Liverpool let it get to this point, what is the response from supporters and so much more from Brad and James. The boys also look forward to the FA Cup quarter finals taking place this weekend. Will Preston North End's fairy tale continue or will the Premier League power houses assert themselves. With Hendrick Motorsports off to a hot start Kyle Larson proud all four drivers are near the top of the point standings. Plus Kyle Busch not ready to give his RCR team a grade yet and Denny Hamlin on how the new sponsorship deal with Progressive Insurance is good for his fans and JGR.
Veteran crew chief Trent Owens joins Davey Segal (5:45) to discuss his career in the sport and time thus far with Kaulig Racing. They dive into working with AJ Allmendinger once again, how the relationship has been thus far, capitalizing on road courses while trying to improve their oval track program, the "One Welcome" approach with Richard Childress Racing and information flow between the four crew chiefs at RCR and Kaulig. Owens also reflects on nearing 400 starts as a crew chief, working with countless drivers along the way, including Kyle Larson in 2013, his driving career in ARCA and Trucks, family connection to racing being related to Richard Petty and Barry Dodson, what he's learned from them and at his stops along the way and more, including how being a father of a child with autism has impacted him off track. Davey also recaps Josh Berry's impressive victory at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, looks ahead to Homestead-Miami Speedway and Papa Segal pays homage to a pioneer of NASCAR.
Back again with another late night recording! We are pumped for Josh Berry's 1st win in Vegas! We're talking about all the action from the Truck race, the Xfinity race, and of course, the Cup race! We look forward to Homestead and make our picks. F1 also kicked off their season with an action packed race in Australia! IndyCar is back this coming weekend, and so is NHRA action from Phoenix.
As the Premier League enters the final third of matches, how will everything sake out? At the top of the table, a clash of third and fourth this weekend will see one of Nottingham Forest or Manchester City lay claim to third. The other will have to worry because Chelsea and the chasing pack are breathing down their neck. Tottenham hope to continue their good form against Bournemouth, who are equally in a good period. Will Ange's men continue to dig themselves out of the hole they find themselves in or will the miserable season continue for them? Finally, Arsenal will travel to Old Trafford to take on Manchester United. See how James see this game shacking out. Arsenal lost at home to West Ham this weekend, in what looks to all but crown Liverpool as the presumptive Champions for this season. After beating City away, Liverpool have opened an eleven point gap at the top of the table and a catastrophic collapse would have to take place for Liverpool to lose the title now. Chelsea lost at the weekend but won in the midweek and Spurs made it three in a row. In what is the most grueling five game stretch of their season, Liverpool's fourth game in this stretch takes them to the Etihad to face last seasons Champion Manchester City. Should Slot's men prevail in this match, tanking all three points, they will maintain their lead over chasing Arsenal and put one of the toughest challenges remaining on their schedule behind them. A day earlier, Arsenal will meet West Ham at home in a London Derby. Arteta's men can heap extra pressure on Liverpool by winning and cutting the gap to just five points. Chelsea head to Villa park to try and stabilize their challenge for a top four finish while Aston Villa look to do the exact same. Back in the silo after a spectacular weekend from The World Center of Racing! We sure hope you enjoyed the Daytona 500 as much as we did! If you didn't get to see it flag to flag, we're going over all the action from The Great American Race! We also look forward to this coming weekend's action in Atlanta. Thanks for tuning it!
in they dying embers of the final Merseyside Derby at Goodison Park, Everton snatched a last gasp equalizer to deny Liverpool the opportunity to take all three points. Liverpool will feel aggrieved as the goal was scored in the 8th minute of what was supposed to be a minimum of five minutes of time added on. Elsewhere, City rolled over Newcastle with a first half hat-trick from a new signing and finished the game with clean sheet and a goal from the academy. Chelsea lost for a second time in a week to Brighton and Spurs and Arsenal both won. Happy Valentine's Day from the RCR! This week, in honor of love and the Super Bowl, the boys pour salt in Taylor Swift's wounds by covering 2 of her biggest L's: 'Valentine's Day' and 'Cats' in a new edition of 'Seeing Double'.
We are back to officially kick off the 2025 NASCAR season! Daytona weekend is here and we are pumped! We get you caught up on all the action from the Clash a few weeks back and get ready for all the racing from Daytona this coming weekend! We talk about the new rule changes for this season's Cup racing and share some of our thoughts about the "Larson rule", Xfinity Fastest Lap point, Damaged Vehicle Policy, and the changes after this past fall's Martinsville race. We talk about all the driver and team moves. We're making picks for Daytona and making some way to early Championship picks! Thanks for tuning in!
Dale Earnhardt Jr. kicks off the Download season with a bang by welcoming back NASCAR Hall of Fame car owner Richard Childress to the Dirty Mo Media studio. After what was essentially a hometown race for Childress at Bowman Gray Stadium, the two were eager to talk about the Clash and their impressions of the NASCAR Cup Series returning to the legendary venue. Childress explains that he showed up early on Sunday to sit and reflect on the beginning of his racing career, which dates back to the “claim” division at the football stadium when he was in his teens. In anticipation of his debut as Cup car owner, Dale Jr. asks Richard for any advice leading into the Daytona 500, to which he replies to keep following the dream. Dale and Richard talk about RCR working with Kyle Busch and how they were able to put their past drama behind them to find on-track success. Dale also inquires about Austin and Ty Dillon's roles at the company and what the future may hold for them beyond the driver's seat. They chat about the ongoing lawsuit between 23XI/Front Row Motorsports & NASCAR and what the other teams hope to gain in the new charter agreement. The conversation also covers Kasey Kahne's upcoming Xfinity race with RCR, how Richard got the number 3, and his brief history working as a stuntman.
It's time to celebrate another RCR birthday! This week is Steph's birthday, so in honor of her love for Mr. Bean, the boys decided to pair it in a 'Seeing Double' with another bumbling, accident prone European. The boys cover 'The Pink Panther' and 'Mr. Bean's Holiday' with special guest Stephanie Brown!
A weekend full of matches after a European midweek sees last season's champions travel to last season's runners up. While Arsenals title challenge for this season is ongoing, City's has yet to take off; a win at the Emirates would jump start their beleaguered league season. High flying Bournemouth host current league leaders Liverpool. One of the most dangerous grounds to go to for opposition this year, Liverpool will look to avoid the same fate that Arsenal, Tottenham, and Manchester City faced when they traveled to the south coast. A London derby sees Chelsea welcome back former first team coach, Graham Potter's new outfit, West Ham United. Check all this out on this weeks preview of the Premier League on RCR. This quarter mile bull ring has a whole YouTube page full of wild racing and crazy action from both racers and spectators alike. Hopefully NASCAR's CLASH lives up to the hype and its own name! We're excited to kick this racing season off and we are glad you've tuned in!
In a week that had lots on the line in the Premier League, Arsenal were handed a tough blow in the first half against Wolves. An erroneous red card saw the Gunners have to play the game down a man until an erroneous yellow card (a foul that should have seen straight red) saw the playing field return to parity. The Arsenal finally found the break through and won the match, saving a result that could have easily gotten away from them due to a very poor refereeing decision. Bournemouth continued their impressive run as they put five past visitors Nottingham Forest. Chelsea tasted defeat against City and Spurs dropped yet another game, this time against stragglers Leicester City. Check out this week's review of Round 23.
