It's time for one of those huge episodes. Well, it's a four parter anyways. 2009 was a decent year for horror movies, well as long as your don't mind the French extreme, torture porn, the found footage explosion, j horror and a glut of remakes. The highs are really high & the lows are absolute trash. But, what do I think was the very greatest horror movie that came out during 2009? Well, here we have the top 10. The worst 10. A slew of also rans. Some awesome mates. Some special guests. Several pints of beer and a 6+ hour running time split over 4 episodes. YOU CAN DO IT, MONSTER PARTY! JAMES GONIS, SHAWN SHERIDAN, LARRY STROTHE, and MATT WEINHOLD, take a "fantastic journey" with a celebrity who's IMDB credits could circle the Earth. He was always a welcome presence in our young lives, and it's an honor to have him on our show. Taking time out from his busy schedule up on Witch Mountain, please welcome, the one and only... IKE EISENMANN!!! Ike has starred in such MONSTER PARTY favorites as ESCAPE TO WITCH MOUNTAIN, RETURN FROM WITCH MOUNTAIN, THE AMAZING COSMIC AWARENESS OF DUFFY MOON, DEVIL DOG: THE HOUND OF HELL, STAR TREK II: THE WRATH OF KHAN (He's only SCOTTY'S NEPHEW!), and the short-lived but much-loved 70's sci-fi series, THE FANTASTIC JOURNEY! He's also guest starred in a multitude of classic TV shows that include GUNSMOKE, MANNIX, KUNG FU, EMERGENCY, WONDER WOMAN, FANTASY ISLAND, EIGHT IS ENOUGH, THE JEFFERSONS, T.J. HOOKER, and a ton more! Aside from his on-screen projects, Ike has lent his vocal talents to such works as NAUSICAA OF THE VALLEY OF THE WIND, GOBOTS, DINO-RIDERS, POM POKO, THE HUNCHBACK OF NOTRE DAME 2: THE SECRET OF THE BELL, and HOWL'S MOVING CASTLE. I know, it's like music to your ears! And years after the release of first two WITCH MOUNTAIN films, Ike re-united with his co-star, KIM RICHARDS, in the reboot film, RACE TO WITCH MOUNTAIN. And all they found was a Rock. Ike was gracious enough to give us a pretty big chunk of his day to discuss his amazing career, and regale us with some truly fascinating behind-the-scenes tales. I mean, this guy worked with the likes of DONALD PLEASENCE, CHRISTOPHER LEE, RODDY McDOWALL, RAY MILLAND, and BETTE FREAKIN' DAVIS! Not bad for a kid armed only with talent, determination, and telekinetic powers.
The boys take a cab all the way to victory this week, as they explore 2009's Race to Witch Mountain, starring yer boi Dwayne "the Rock" Johnson! Experience the thrills and spills as the chaps deal with topics like: Sam's horrible cold, similarities to other Disney films, Fortnights(?), and going full Eleven on some folks.

A nice low air conditioner hum Bill didn't notice until editing joins us for this week's episode, where we're covering the Dwayne "the Rock" Johnson 2009 follow-up to 1975's Escape to Witch Mountain, which we covered back in episode 21. Is this a remake? A sequel? A barely-related movie of a different genre? Come puzzle over this and so, so much more with us!
The first two movies in Disney's Witch Mountain franchise were...wild to say the least. Between the flying winnebagos, the mind control devices and endless shots of cars reversing and peeling away, the movies were a barrage of strangeness. What we're saying is, RACE TO WITCH MOUNTAIN has quite the legacy. And while strange in its own special way - with nonsensical cameos, Men in Black antagonists and casualty-less train explosions - it does end up fitting quite cleanly into this era of family-friendly movies from Rock "The Dwayne" Johnson.

It's always nice to spend a night indoors popping popcorn and reviewing a scary movie. Do you like scary movies, POST-Marks? Well have we got just the film for you! On this edition of The Rocky Maivia Picture Show, Nate Milton celebrates October by reviewing Dwayne Johnson’s scariest movie to date, Disney’s Race to Witch Mountain! Wait… There’s no witches in this movie? Not even one?? It’s about adolescent aliens??? Ok… Nate tries to counter this alien incursion with a “British invasion”! He welcomes ½ of The BDE, Davie Portman (upNXT) and UK film-industry veteran Daniel Perry into the theater to break down the race! So there’s no race, either? Then what the heck is this film about?!? Nate and his companions travel back to 2009 to talk about “Jack Bruno”, a weird time for live-action Disney films, and The Rock’s international appeal. To top it all off, they spend a much-needed moment with the “Man Called Sting”! All that & more on a scary-good installment of TRMPS! Do you remember Jack Bruno? Well, neither did anyone else, but that's who The Rock played in his early action starring role for Disney in Race to Witch Mountain. On its 10th anniversary, Sam and Eli go back and see if the race is worth it. Intro/Outro Music: "A Jump Off" by John Powell from Jumper (2008).
Christine Lakin, gets a big break acting in the new film "Race to Witch Mountain," starring Dwayne Johnson and Carla Gugino . Her first audition was for a TV-commercial "Got Milk?!" Her next opportunity, which was the part as the young Rose in the civil-war flick Rose and the Jackal, which also starred Christopher Reeve. In 1991 she took her first step towards big fame and landed the role as the tomboyish Al on the Friday night hit “Step by Step.”

Friends, we've got no time for preamble on this week's episode of Mousterpiece Cinema. We're off to the races, heading to...which mountain? Which one? Which--we have to figure that mystery out soon, because Josh and Gabe are talking about the last film in the infamous Witch Mountain franchise, the 2009 remake Race to Witch Mountain. Once more, they're joined by IGN TV editor Eric Goldman to talk about the important questions, such as...seriously, which mountain? OK, aside from that, there's time to debate the presence of a smaller-than-expected version of The Rock, a depiction of convention culture that's not terribly friendly, and the random appearance of Garry Marshall. (Please, call him Mr. Marshall!) If you're ready for a race, then check this episode out!
