As a small child, Ike Eisenmann manifested his dream of being a Disney performer when he landed the lead in Escape To Witch Mountain and became the top child star of the ‘70s. But the joy and pride of appearing in Gunsmoke, Kung Fu, Mannix, Emergency, and Little House On The Prairie was shadowed by the abusively cruel insults hurled at him by his jealous and mentally ill actor father. Ike titled his new book after his father's mantra: “You'll Never Be A Star.”Ironically, Ike had no interest in being a star. He wanted to take part. And that he did, working with Eddie Albert, Bette Davis, George C. Scott, William Shatner, Roddy McDowall, Beau Bridges, Kim Richards and so many more gifted artists. Ike prided himself on being a one-take-wonder, often doing his own stunts, leaping through the sky, attached to wires, to snag a home run in Escape From Witch Mountain, sword fighting in The Bastard and horseback riding in Kit Carson And The Mountain Men. Ike's fantastic stories invite so many questions. Was Shatner method acting when he would strut around the set like a newly promoted Rear Admiral giving line readings to Ike? How did Ike, as a teenager, recognize the early promise of Kirstie Alley, Sam Kinison and Alfre Woodard and why was Kim Richards secretly kicking and jabbing Ike right in the middle of takes on Witch Mountain!? Imagine it's 1979. You queue up to see STAR TREK: THE MOTION PICTURE over the holidays. You're super psyched. Not since "Space Seed" have you been so high on the idea of boarding the Enterprise. And then you see ST:TMP and feel like you'd have more fun watching a documentary of William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy talking about taking a shit than you would watching that bloated, dull, space opera. Now imagine it's 1982. You queue up to watch WRATH OF KHAN because it can't be worse than TMP, right? And not only is it not worse, IT'S FUCKING GANGBUSTERS, THE BEST STAR TREK MOVIE ANYONE WILL EVER MAKE, SPACE: THE FINAL FRONTIER, FUCK YEAH! Now imagine this same scenario, except instead of TMP it's MORTAL KOMBAT from 2021, and WRATH OF KHAN is MORTAL KOMBAT II (3:04). That's right. MORTAL KOMBAT II IS FUCKING GANGBUSTERS, THE BEST MORTAL KOMBAT MOVIE ANYONE WILL EVER MAKE (probably), FINISH HIM, MOTHERFUCKER, FUCK YEAH! Or something like that. This week on Trek Tuesday, we're joined by actor Ike Eisenmann, a performer whose career spans beloved Disney classics and one of the most emotionally charged moments in Star Trek cinema. Most fans first discovered Ike as Tony in Escape to Witch Mountain and its sequel Return to Witch Mountain, where he shared the screen with legends like Christopher Lee and Bette Davis. In this episode, Ike opens up about what it was really like working with these iconic performers—offering candid, funny, and heartfelt stories from the set. But to Star Trek fans, Ike holds a special place in Federation history. He is Peter Preston, Scotty's nephew and the young engineering cadet whose sacrifice in Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan remains one of the film's most powerful emotional beats. His performance helped shape the tone of the movie's final act, and his character continues to resonate with fans decades later. And now, Peter Preston has taken on a new life:

With “Star Trek: The Motion Picture” considered a costly, poorly received misfire, Paramount tapped veteran producer Harve Bennett and rising filmmaker Nicholas Meyer to refashion the sequel. Meyer's vision was clear: Hornblower in space. “Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan,” a rousing, superbly crafted entertainment, ultimately saved the franchise and is considered one of the great science fiction films of its time. “Khan” director Nicholas Meyer joins Dennis and his brother Jim to discuss how Dickens and Melville were exactly what “Star Trek” needed. ‘From Hell's heart, I stab at thee! New Free Feed episodes return Tuesday, September 9th! Until then, summer break continues with a look inside the Patreon Carriage House thanks to Yadvina. This week we're going back to July 2020 when we were all stuck inside during the pandemic. But we got through it with our QUIFF Film Festival Series. Here's a peek at what it was like! From 7/17/20: I mean, when you have a cliffhanger that's this dire, you have to dive right in! We waste no time dishing out our advice on what tools make masturbation a more fulfilling experience (a rechargeable wand and Toni Braxton go a long way, apparently). Then, after some reviews and a VERY interesting update from this week's Free Feed Twitter porn issue, we move on to #QUIFF! We had a fairly heavy festival a couple of weeks ago, so we're ingesting some lighter fare this week with STAR TREK II: THE WRATH OF KHAN and RATATOUILLE. Montalbán's pecs! Shatner's pettiness! Garofalo's French accent! It's all here! When we say there are only a few tickets left to Ask Ronna Live in Boston, we mean it. Like, there are maybe 8 tickets left. If you want to join us on October 4th in Beantown, you better get on it NOW! askronnalive.com Sponsor: Ronna's Loro better get used to some company, because there's a new blanket in The Carriage House, and it comes from Lola Blankets.
