As a small child, Ike Eisenmann manifested his dream of being a Disney performer when he landed the lead in Escape To Witch Mountain and became the top child star of the ‘70s. But the joy and pride of appearing in Gunsmoke, Kung Fu, Mannix, Emergency, and Little House On The Prairie was shadowed by the abusively cruel insults hurled at him by his jealous and mentally ill actor father. Ike titled his new book after his father's mantra: “You'll Never Be A Star.”Ironically, Ike had no interest in being a star. He wanted to take part. And that he did, working with Eddie Albert, Bette Davis, George C. And then you see ST:TMP and feel like you'd have more fun watching a documentary of William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy talking about taking a shit than you would watching that bloated, dull, space opera. Now imagine it's 1982. You queue up to watch WRATH OF KHAN because it can't be worse than TMP, right? And not only is it not worse, IT'S FUCKING GANGBUSTERS, THE BEST STAR TREK MOVIE ANYONE WILL EVER MAKE, SPACE: THE FINAL FRONTIER, FUCK YEAH! Now imagine this same scenario, except instead of TMP it's MORTAL KOMBAT from 2021, and WRATH OF KHAN is MORTAL KOMBAT II (3:04). That's right. MORTAL KOMBAT II IS FUCKING GANGBUSTERS, THE BEST MORTAL KOMBAT MOVIE ANYONE WILL EVER MAKE (probably), FINISH HIM, MOTHERFUCKER, FUCK YEAH! Or something like that. The USS Reliant under the command of Capt Terrell and First Officer Pavel Chekov is searching for a barren planet to use as a testbed for Genesis, a terraforming device. By sheer coincidence, they end up finding Khan and his followers who are rightly pissed. Ceti Alpha V turned out to be a hellhole, one McGivers could not survive, and now Khan and company are eager to capitalize on the opportunity to escape. Khan sticks creatures in Terrell's and Chekov's bodies, and the men hand over Reliant as well as spill the beans on Genesis. Khan sees the opportunity to use this lucky turn of events as a way to get sweet, sweet revenge on his nemesis, Jim Kirk, now an admiral and feeling his age. While on a training cruise with a ship full of cadets, Kirk receives a distress message from his old flame Dr. Carol Marcus who also happens to be the creator of Genesis. An enemy from Captain Kirk's past returns for revenge in “Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan.”

So there's this new Star Trek Podcast - and, btw, I'm terrified of death.  Plus, we have a conversation about the Runabout, speaking of fear of death.

this is the second episode in a series of episodes for Star Trek Eric Woods and I go into detail on the film and its background. We discuss the behind the scenes, the props and so much more. this episode will involve discussing some of the trivia from IMDB curated and then discussing some of the liner notes from the deluxe edition of the score of the film. Then we will discuss some key music cues from the film and see how those affect us or even show the brilliance of James Horner's excellent score.  Eric Woods as you know is a talented podcaster who runs Cinematic Sound Radio and I am a part of his podcasting network. There are several shows associated with the network. He has been doing the podcast or a form of it for over 25 years. He's a good friend from Kitchner Ontario Canada and is a great admirer of film scores.
