No, you can't. They've been there for millions of years, through storms and floods and wars and time. Nobody really understands where the music comes from. It's probably something to do with the precise positions, the distance between both towers. Even the locals aren't sure. All anyone will ever tell you is that when the wind stands fair and the night is perfect, when you least expect it but always when you need it the most… there is a Song. This week, the Doctor and River live happily ever after, and Jack Shanahan joins us to discuss The Husbands of River Song. Notes and links Brendan mentions that this story was recorded after Alex Kingston started working with Big Finish on her long-running series The Diary of River Song. In fact, the first volume of that series is, like The Husbands of River Song, released in December 2015. We get our first sight of Peter Capaldi's wedding ring on 4 August 2013, during a close-up of his right hand in Doctor Who Live: The Next Doctor, the thirty-minute live broadcast in which Peter Capaldi is unveiled to the world as the Twelfth Doctor. Night and the Doctor is a series of five minisodes released on the Blu-ray box set of Series 6 — Bad Night, Good Night, First Night, and the completely unrelated Up All Night. In Last Night, the Doctor runs into a future version of himself, with a new haircut and a suit, about to take River to their last date on the planet Darillium. Speaking of Moffat recycling his own ideas, Sally Sparrow is first featured in a short story in the 2006 Doctor Who Annual called What I Did on My Christmas Holidays by Sally Sparrow, in which Sally receives messages from the Ninth Doctor, who is trapped without the TARDIS in 1985. Here's a link to the story itself. Jack mentions that he has just recorded an episode of A Hamster with a Blunt Penknife with Joe Ford in which they watched Wild Blue Yonder. This week, a proper science fiction writer takes hold of the show — with remarkable results — in Sarcophagus. And finally there's our Star Trek commentary podcast, Untitled Star Trek Project, featuring Nathan and friend-of-the-podcast Joe Ford. This month we dive back into the universe of Doctor Who where Tyler discusses the role of a therapist in working with a client like Vincent Van Gogh and Jen talks with Sally Sparrow about moving on from a traumatic experience.
Sally Sparrow learns that she shouldn't make assumptions about others.
Host Andrew Hunter Scholey is joined by guest Sally Sparrow to discuss "Thirty Two Short Films about Glenn Gould" (1993).

MIKEY - It is absolutely no substitute for watching the episode, and it will definitely contain SPOILERS if you haven't seen the episode. You have been warned. MARC - In 2007, Sally Sparrow, intrigued by a message written to her under peeling wallpaper about "the Weeping Angel", explores the abandoned house Wester Drumlins with her friend Kathy Nightingale. At the moment Kathy disappears, Kathy's grandson, Malcolm, delivers to the house a message from 1987 about the long life Kathy led. Kathy had been sent back in time to 1920. MIKEY - Before leaving, Sally takes a Yale key hanging from the hand of a statue. Sally visits Kathy's brother, Larry, at work to tell him that Kathy loves him, as the letter requested. Larry explains that he has been documenting an "Easter egg" in seventeen different DVDs containing a video message of a man having half of a conversation with the viewer. Larry gives Sally a list of the DVDs. MARC - Four Weeping Angel statues follow Sally to the police station, where they take an impounded fake police box and send DI Billy Shipton back to 1969. The man in the Easter egg, a time traveller called the Doctor, has also been sent to the past, and asks Billy to relay a message decades later. MIKEY - Billy puts the Easter egg on the DVDs. In 2007, a much older Billy phones Sally to visit him on his deathbed in the hospital. Before he dies, Billy instructs Sally to "look at the list". The list is Sally's own DVD collection. MARC - Sally and Larry return to the house and play the Easter egg on a portable DVD player. Sally discovers she can converse with the Doctor in 1969, as he possesses a copy of the complete transcript that Larry is currently compiling. The Doctor explains that aliens called Weeping Angels send people back in time by touching them, and feed off the potential energy of their remaining days. MIKEY - The Doctor also explains that the Weeping Angels turn to stone statues when any living creature observes them. He fears they are seeking the vast reserves of time energy in the police box, which is his time machine, the TARDIS, and could cause enormous damages as a result. MARC - A Weeping Angel pursues Sally and Larry to the basement where the TARDIS is. Sally and Larry use the Yale key to hide inside, while the four Weeping Angels attack. Larry inserts a now-glowing DVD, which also functions as a control disk, in the console's DVD player. The ship returns to the Doctor, while leaving Sally and Larry behind. MIKEY - The Weeping Angels standing around the TARDIS get tricked into looking at each other and are permanently frozen. A year later, Sally and Larry meet the Doctor prior to his being stuck in 1969. Sally hands the Doctor Larry's transcript, and warns that he will need it. So, this thing happened, a bit like that scene in Blink where Sally Sparrow gets a letter from the past.
Blink once and you are scared. Blink twice and you have Colin, Kelsey, and finally Shelby able to weigh in before they are sent hurtling back in time to live a very different life. Life is short and you all are hot, but we decide to discuss Billy Shipton's plight, Cathy Nightengale's fate, and the famous Sally Sparrow's unique interest in breaking into Wester Drumlins (a haunted house). But wait, where is the Doctor and Martha in this story?

This week, Miranda, James, Laura, and Jeff ask Hiro to send us back to November 23, 2009 so we can discuss NBC's Heroes – Season 4, Chapter 10, Thanksgiving. We're looking for some voicemail feedback on how you feel about Heroes Reborn. We haven't heard from some of you in a while and we're curious as to how you are liking, or not liking, the show. Call us: 346-202-HERO (4376). This was Jeff's choice for our Heroes Rewind discussion. His reason? Laura said pick a weird one and this one certainly qualifies! Plus, he loves Darth Maul! Less than 3 minutes in and we have our first tangent...must be some kind of a record. All the talk about pie reminded Jeff about Pushing Daisies starring Lee Pace. This episode had us all fairly confused. It was definitely NOT a standalone episode. This week we dug out the actual recap segment from our Original Heroescast Podcast as recorded by Kim. Samuel discovers his true potential in terms of his ability. Because we don't remember, we hypothesize that he must have sent Hiro back in time to retrieve the film, since we thought Joseph had destroyed it. We also discuss Hiro's naiveté being one of the things we didn't like in the original run. Since this isn't a standalone episode, we really never recalled what Samuel's plan was and, in trying to explain it, probably made it more confusing :) HRG goes shopping Fonzarelli style and "accidentally" runs into Lauren. James is very pleased since he's a big fan of Elisabeth Rohm. This takes us on another quick tangent regarding Carey Mulligan (aka Sally Sparrow) from Doctor Who. We continue trying to recall or speculate who and what some of the characters in this episode were; namely Gretchen and the girl that tried to kill her (Becky). Which takes another tangent into House of Lies on Showtime, since Lydia plays Don Cheadle's ex-wife on that show. Which takes us down the path of Jean-Ralphio. Which ties back into the Fonz and finally ends up with Ash vs. Evil Dead. WHAT? That's how confused we were with this episode. Once we get back on track, we discuss the Dysfunctional Bennett family's dinner. And just like that, we're off again talking about Carnivale, Prison Break, and Fremont, Ohio. Sylar/Nathan bring some real story back to the episode which clears everything right up. (NOT) Samuel finds a scapegoat for Joseph's death in Edgar since Hiro won't rat him out in order to save Charlie. In summary: Don't try to watch this episode on its own unless you completely remember all the bits and pieces of season 4. Thanks for all the reviews. Stay tuned to find out if you are a winner of Heroes Swag. We LOVE Feedback! Our year of companions kicks off in delightful style! Deb accidentally invents a new word*. Kat is thoroughly predictable. Erika unabashedly cheats. And Tansy has a list! Which guest stars do you wish had become full-time companions? Let us know in the comments! *comfanion, noun; a Doctor Who character not generally considered a companion of the Doctor, but whom a viewer loves so much, they think should have been. The viewer may even argue against popular opinion, claiming their favorite *is* a companion. (Examples: "Bret Vyon is my favorite companion." "He was only in one story! He's a comfanion, at best." -- "Sally Sparrow is my favorite comfanion.
