3 Way's To Generate Leads Without Posting On Social Media 24/7

Lead generation - the biggest headache for so many business owners, the source of such uncertainty and stress!! So in this episode I give you the antidote to your lead gen stresses - 3 ways to generate more leads in your business without posting on socials 24/7. Do your organic. Okay. And make sure if you haven't got that audience, you know you're using the hashtag cause you're interacting with people who are using a similar hashtag who are potential customers who you can bring into your world. It may feel very touching, its straws. You've got to communicate with this person to bring them into your world. I can't do that when you're scaling, but we are not at that stage. When you are at the stage where you've got, you're so busy that you can't do it yourself, you can get somebody else to do this or you can look to run paid ads, but you can't do those things until you've got this basic foundation. The activities you are doing to create that basic foundation of lead gen is not what you will do when you're getting to, when you're wanting to scale. But it's what you can do to get the ball rolling, get that momentum going. You're all the things potentially in your business right now, You, if you're wanting to grow that business, if you're wanting to step away from it, you're not always going to be all those things. It's just for that moment in time, what you wanna do is make that moment in time as short as possible. I would encourage you, Okay, I get all my clients when they join me. I'm like, Right at least an hour a day is spent on business development. Now we can split the app and you can do it in one day, which is what some people do. This is what I do. Or you can section it out. But it's important that you are having touchpoint with potential customers on a consistent basis. Business development, lead generation, activit. Activities that are going to directly help you generate money you wanna be doing on a consistent basis and prioritizing. When I speak to people, the vast majority of people are not doing that. And that's what will differentiate you between those that do and those that don't, and the results that you can get. Be one of those people who does it, Do yourself and your business a favor. Once you get into the habit, it's not that hard, it's not that painful. Okay. Reaching out, following up with people, interacting with. Is what you wanna be doing. So do the organic stuff, then look at who can make recommendations. They can recommend you based on having previously worked with them. And then look at potential affiliates, potential people who are serving the same ideal customer as you but in a different way who already have that trust because that customer's already bought from them. So they're probably sat on their mailing list. Having been a purchas. So that's it for me guys for today. I hope that has been helpful. Do not give up, don't do all the things. Don't try and do all the platforms all at the same time. Try and be consistent on your best fit platform for you and your ideal customer. Okay? Don't exhaust yourself, but be consistent, okay? You can schedule stuff. You don't have to be doing stuff on the weekends or on your. But be consistently present and making the most of your value post so you don't exhaust yourself. Use those people that are recommendations within your network. Have conversations with people. Build momentum, build energy around your brand. Build awareness, Okay? You might not always be talking to your ideal customer, but you don't know who that person will be talking to. Next. Maybe it will be an ideal customer, so bear that in mind, guys.Say hi and leave a message or question on the Women's Wealth PodpageWant Help Creating Your Version of Wealth Or Simply Find Out MoreBuy my book here | Non-UK book hereSocials:Connect with me on LinkedIn | Join the Women's Wealth Community hereIf you enjoy the Women's Wealth Podcast (formally Selling Without Sleaze) please rate and review us on Apple or SpotifyWant to chat? What's disappointing is not living up to your full potential. I want you to free up your time so that you can spend the time doing things that are gonna replenish you. They're gonna nourish you. Everybody knows that the more time you spend on a task, the less productive you become. Hey guys. So on today's podcast, I'm gonna be talking to you around creating that version of your wealth. So where are you with your business right now? What do you want to be balancing? Where are your priorities? And I think that's the main thing here. It's, it's so easy to get wrapped up in your business priorities that you can end up working all the hours. You can almost send up quite addicted to that, more about that in a bit. And so you forget around, actually, what am I doing this for? What am I generating this money for? Why am I gonna actually spend this money? When am I actually gonna spend this money? Cause I just spend all my time thinking and working on my business. And that isn't healthy for anybody, even if you're gonna look at business performance. Okay? Everybody knows that the more time you spend on a task, the less productive you. You need to take regular breaks. You need to take that time to refocus. Where are your fresh pair of eyes if they're never fresh? If you go. And come back. You, you are able to kind of get a different perspective. Think, you know what? That's quite a terrible idea right there, that you poured all your ideas into and been working on for the last couple of hours. And you know, you can head off, you can come back and you can think, Wait a minute, that's not so good. And whereas if you are always in the business, if you're already always working in it, if you're always involved around it, you're not aware of what's going on in the outside world. You're not aware of better ideas, better ways of doing things, because you're just focused in on your little world. Your eyes are not gonna be so fresh. You're not gonna notice things. And you're potentially going to take yourself down roots that aren't the best route for you or your business. So, you know, having a new perspective, coming to it with a fresh energy can really help. So for those of you that you're feeling like you never switching off, and you know, it's like my business is my hobby, my spare time is spent doing this. I get that, particularly when it started as a side hustle. It's a habit. Your business on, working on your business is a habit, but what did you do before then? And I have so many clients who when we start talking around this and we start building in time for themselves, they go back to hobbies that they used to do in their late, late teens, early twenties. Because that was when you know they were, the hobbies that they enjoyed, they're the things that they look back to before work took over. And it can be that long, which is frightening. We're only here for a finite amount of time, and you want to be able to balance that. Surely you wanna have a purpose outside of work as well as inside work. So hopefully, you know, you are like, Yep, that is right. I do wanna focus outside of work. Yes, I do have focuses outside of work, and when I say focuses, guys, I don't just mean chores, I don't just mean children, I don't just mean things that you have to do to sustain life. To get people in the right place at the right time. It's not the facilitating of other people's lives, it's the living of your own. And that's what we're talking around here. I'm not saying be totally selfish. Some of you are probably thinking, How on earth am I going to carve any time for myself? But B, by being more productive and you, you've got all these people who want to help you be more productive, but I don't want you to be productive so you can work more to get more work done. I don't. I want you to free up your time so that you can spend the time doing things that are gonna replenish you. They're gonna nourish. They're gonna bring you back to your work in a more positive energy, but they're also going to give you more, they're going to give you more fulfilment outside of work. Your entire fulfilment, your entire life's purpose can't be your work. It doesn't make any sense. It's not healthy. No one on the, on the deathbed said, You know what? I wish I'd work harder. For me, wealth is about freedom. It's about fulfilment. I don't want to be doing a job just to generate the money just so I can feel free to have that consistent income. I want to get fulfilment from what I'm doing too. I want to feel like I have a purpose. I want to feel like I'm giving back to the world. I want to feel like I'm going to leave. Positivity and an impact on people. And I know I have, and I know I continue to do so, and that's where I get my fulfilment from. It's not the only fulfilment I get, but I am very adamant and have always been adamant that I want to get fulfilment from my job. But what is your version of wealth and where are you on that version of wealth? Are you already living. In which case can you better it? Can you, how can you protect it? How can you make sure you can sustain it? If you are on that journey towards it, however lost or, or detached you may feel right now from it, you can make a change. Say hi and leave a message or question on the Women's Wealth PodpageWant Help Creating Your Version of Wealth Or Simply Find Out MoreBuy my book here | Non-UK book hereSocials:Connect with me on LinkedIn | Join the Women's Wealth Community hereIf you enjoy the Women's Wealth Podcast (formally Selling Without Sleaze) please rate and review us on Apple or Spotify Want to chat? Can You Really Run A Business With Your Other Half?

Selling Without Sleaze

Play Episode Listen Later Oct 6, 2022 8:57

Hey everyone. Welcome to this week's podcast. I'm your host, Sarah Jolley Jarvis, and I am really excited to be sharing with you my take on working with your other half. So in this week's podcast, what we're gonna be talking around is either bringing your other half as in your other. Who you are in a romantic relationship with into your business or, You know, in my case, my own experience is around setting up businesses with my husband. To start off with my relationship , cause it's the one I'm most qualified around. We've started a number of bit different businesses. We've started them in different forms. Sometimes he's taken the lead. Sometimes I've been there as kind of supporting roles. Sometimes it's been the other way around. It's been my, on me taking the. And him in a more supporting role. You know, we have very complimentary skills and that's why I think it works for us is because there are very clear boundaries there. And that's not to say that sometimes these boundaries get muddled or a little bit more, well, less clear  or, you know, that we don't have areas of the business where neither of us actually really enjoy doing it, or both of us really enjoy doing it. Which then is obviously a discussion point. You know, with any relationship, with any work, working relationship, it's not going to be. All the time, and I can definitely confirm that. And what I can say is setting out really clear boundaries, expectations, providing clarity on, on whose, whose role does this fall into being in a position where you can keep the communication open so that you can. Pull each other up when you're not necessarily doing something which is the most sensible, or you're coming from a place of, of more of an emotional response than a constructive response, et cetera, et cetera, is really helpful. And, and then that's the thing is, is you know, being able to work so closely with your other half, that's that person you know better than anybody else is so beneficial, is so helpful. And is it, you know, is really fulfilling in. But when people, when I tell to people that I, I work with my husband, we run businesses together, we work in the same office. They're like my word. I could not do that with my other half. And, and I get that. I, I understand how, and if I hadn't worked with Martin, if I hadn't gotten an understanding of what he's like to work with I think I would've felt like that too. And I think in some cases it is much healthier. It's much better. To have that separate life. And there have been times when we've been like, Actually, would it be better if we had very separate businesses? And we run them very separately. But we've always come to the conclusion that, you know, playing with our, playing to our strengths and you know, having each other involved in each of other's businesses makes the most sense. You know, he's very into the digital marketing side of stuff. Lead generation, you know, bring me the leads, guys, and if they're the right type of, Then I'll convert them. And so, you know, it, it's having that awareness of where their strengths are, where yours are, and I think we are very lucky that we have those dissing roles. When you don't have them, it's divvying them up and being very clear on, on who's gonna. Who's gonna take what and, and who's going to step back and let the other one take the lead? And I think that would be more tricky. So, you know, we are lucky in that format. What I have had with clients is that they've set up a business then for whatever reason, their other half has decided to come on board. They tend to be coming in, in a kind of role below that person. Which can lead to friction, it can be quite difficult. Also, there is that level of frustration. If you've set up the business and you've been everything to that business, then this person comes in and starts doing an element of that role, very difficult for them to take ownership of it. It's very difficult for you to let go. There's the potential, you know, if you were to take on an employee, the likelihood is is that person isn't going to do it to the same standard as. Not without training and providing clarity, but giving feedback can be harder when you is your other half, when it is somebody close to you. You know, they always say, don't take on friends and, and work with friends and employee friends. I don't think there's even a saying about other halves. I think it's just, it's just taken as read that that wouldn't be a great idea. But it can be, and I have seen it work, but where it works is because people have boundaries, people have expectations, and, and they're able to communicate openly. Sometimes that does lead to heated discussions. You know, I have seen it. We, I've experienced it myself, and, and it's a case of them calling off and coming to it in a constructive way. You are going to lose your what? Its, There you go. I didn't swear. Which means I don't have to tick that box on my podcast. You're going to lose control of your emotions sometimes. At people who you are more comfortable with, cuz you're able to do that, you know that you're safe to do that. And so, you know, keep that one in mind. If you are finding that, you know, you, you're building up frustrations, it, it makes sense to, when you are calmer to have that conversation with that person, you're still feeling that, they're probably still feeling that, you're saying feeling that, but then you're not saying anything. They still exist. Those feelings. You might as well get them out into the. Even if you're saying, Hey, I feel like this. I know I'm being a bit of a bottom about it, but I wanted to share it with you because you're probably feeling that I'm behaving this way too, and I wanted to explain why. So, you know, it always makes a lot of sense to, to keep the communication as open as you can, and I think that goes for friends. If you've got a really decent friend who's really highly skilled at something, but everyone's like, Oh, it's a bad idea to take on friends, then it's setting those boundaries, getting clear, hey, you know, When's it gonna be too much? What would be too much? Where are we gonna have sort of like a, a sort of requirement of timeout or for somebody to, to put on a different hat and, and, and, you know, appreciate that this is a working relationship as well as a friendship. There are so many relationships spoiled over it. I totally understand why people don't go near it with their other hearts or with friends. But this is, you know, if you are seeing that as an opportunity and you are, you're constantly, the thoughts constantly coming back round to this person would be great. I'd love to do. Give it a go, guys. You know, everyone loves to tell you how terrible things are and what a bad idea things are. I mean, gosh, any of you who've had a baby, you know, everyone as soon as you're pregnant wants to tell you about how your life's totally over. But when you weren't pregnant, they were asking you when you were gonna have a baby and confirm that it's a great idea to have a baby. So you, you can't win. And it's the same thing with with business and taking on people, and taking on people, people and saying, Oh, you know, you probably should, should steer clear of doing that. It's your life, it's your business. And if you wanna give it a whirl, then give it a whirl. It's your story. You don't, you know, it's your story, right? They have not got a crystal ball. They don't know what's going to happen. But if you come into it with an understanding of what could happen, And you've made plans, you've put parameters in place to protect each of you, if that does happen. And to communication open as much as you can to avoid the bad things happening, that is a good start. That is a way of helping you to make the most of the resources that you are surrounded by whilst not, you know, avoiding as much as you can. That risk of a relationship going, Sarah. So I hope that's helped guys. I hope that gives you an. I am going to say, yeah, you know, it, it's, it's worked for us. It's continuing to work for us, but you know, it hasn't been without its highs and lows. One of the main things I would say around working with your other half is that they get it. So when you're working later, when you've got deadlines to meet, when you're recording a podcast on a Monday evening, because that's the night you like doing it they can understand that. Whereas resentment can build when somebody is outside of your business looking. And what they're seeing is it taking more and more of your time and they're not necessarily seeing the fruits of your labor the way you'd hope. So if your revenue isn't as good, if it's not as as high, if it's not as consistent as you are hoping people get it more when they're more involved. And if you've got a partner and they're not that involved and they're quite suspicious and quite scared of self-employment and they haven't done it themselves, they haven't made that leap, and then you know, bringing them on your journey, sharing with them, reassuring. Can go a long, long way to helping them to feel better, to feel more confident, and to feel more involved. And, and that's the thing is, is at the end of the day, we, we want to feel involved. We want to be sharing these experience with our other halves as so, you know, let them in and share with them where you are at and what you're trying to achieve. So that's it for me guys. I hope that has helped. I hope that has maybe inspired you. There are so many couples in business out there that, you know, it's well worth looking in and, and, and seeing some of the, the couples that are out there, we've got couples who are considerably older than nerds who've been in business. They are our inspiration and, and our source of, you know what, this is doable, it's achievable and it's well worth having to go. So that's it for me this week, guys. I hope you've enjoyed it. Next week I'm gonna be talking to you around balance and balancing your priorities and getting clear on what you want, what your version of wealth is, and then generating that. So that's it for me guys this week. Have a great rest of your week.Say hi and leave a message or question on the Women's Wealth Podpage Want Help Creating Your Version of Wealth Or Simply Find Out MoreBuy my book here | Non-UK book here Socials:Connect with me on LinkedIn | Join the Women's Wealth Community hereIf you enjoy the Women's Wealth Podcast (formally Selling Without Sleaze) please rate and review us on Apple or Spotify Want to chat? How To Increase Revenue Without Generating Leads

Note: Everyone tells you to generate leads if you want to increase sales (and ultimately revenue)But there is another wayWithout generating a single ‘lead'Serve the customers you already have.Chances are, using your solution, they have either:Solved their need or problem in which case they will have others to solvePartially solved their problem - but they could get an even better result. After a better result: more than likely you can solve this / help - if beyond your skill set then refer on.Solve their need but have other problems / needs - who do you know that can help?No need to always look internally - if you can refer on to others you can generate income (with the correct agreement in place) without having to do any of the workIf you can and do want to create a new offer then consult your previous customers - work with them to create the best solution you can, or look for alternative provider.None of my mentors have been the sole solution to my needs, people value you being specialist and being someone who can signpost them in the right direction to alternative support. You don't need to be either.Do what works best for you and your customer base. But remember it's easier to serve the customers you have than always focus on finding new ones.Get In TouchSay hi and leave a message or question on the Women's Wealth PodpageWant Help Creating Your Version of Wealth Or Simply Find Out MoreBuy my book here | Non-UK book hereSocials:Connect with me on LinkedIn | Join the Women's Wealth Community hereIf you enjoy the Women's Wealth Podcast (formally Selling Without Sleaze) please rate and review us on Apple or SpotifyWant to chat? Being ‘bossy' has been a hot topic in my household this week as the kids readjust to schoolLack of vocabulary or an understanding of how to express ourselvesGet older we can become more direct, especially around subject matters we know wellFocus turned to how we want to ‘show up'When I was young - these things came naturallyRealise how intentional a lot of these things areThe question is how do you want to turn up in business? For your business? For your ideal customers / audienceIn the playground - people tell you to stop being bossy or…like in the adult world, loosing their attention does the talkingWe've all been thereIt can be difficult when the solution is obviousDirectness can seem confrontational, accusational or be at the very least demoralisingI always encourage clients to be the ray of sunshine, spread hope, show others how what they are seeking is very possible.I try and do that too- doesn't always go to planIt's a journey, if I can develop and get more intentional around it anyone can!To round up wanted to share with you what's going on with the podcast:Super excited I have some special guests lined up towards the end of the monthNext week we are talking all about increasing your sales without generating leads - lead gen is over focused on. If lead gen has you dreading money making activities time in your business then don't fear - next week we will have you covered - sometimes it is best to focus on what you already have rather than getting more. Say hi and leave a message or question on the Women's Wealth PodpageWant Help Creating Your Version of Wealth Or Simply Find Out MoreBuy my book here | Non-UK book here Socials:Connect with me on LinkedIn | Join the Women's Wealth Community hereIf you enjoy the Women's Wealth Podcast (formally Selling Without Sleaze) please rate and review us on Apple or Spotify Want to chat? Last week I spoke to client who's been trying to get the online side of her coaching business up and running for sometime. We've done well to build up her in person work, but her online work just wasn't having the same impact. We worked through the following tips and she's already taking action on them- I spotted one of her tester posts this morning on Instagram, I can't wait to find out the resultsThe real plus point- so far she hasn't had to spend any money or create anything new, just testing the water at this stage to see how much interest or demand there is out there for the offer we will create. So what did we work through?WellStep 1 - figure out what's driving how you feelWe all have ‘off' days, but if you end up having more off days than ‘on days' then it's probably time for a rethink - after all you didn't start a business to make yourself miserable did you?! Step 2- explore what you can do about itYou don't have to start with the ‘if you could do anything what would it be' cliche, instead think through your recent work, what elements got you excited or did you enjoy most, who is your favourite customer and why - it's amazing to see how people light up when you get onto these subjects. If you can talk it through with a friend, they will more than likely spot what gets you all excited just by your body language! Step 3 - take action- test opportunities availableWhat demand is out there for what you would like to offer (you don't need to know the fine detail at this stage just an overview will do) how many people in your current world fit your ideal customer description and who is currently helping them? (Ie who's your potential competition) Step 4- use info obtained to make an informed decisionOnce you have put out some posts, reached out to potential customer or whatever else you decide to do in step 3 what are the results telling you?If you've got any questions then reach out - I'm always happy to support as much as I can. August started doing her own hair around age 7 because her mother wasn't able to keep up – time, money other kids! As a teenager, she didn't have the body type that was in style but always felt beautiful. Participation in her church community helped her understand she was blessed to be created this way. She took on purpose with those teachings. Instead of wearing what was in fashion, she sought out clothes and makeup that emphasized HER strengths. When August became a model, she realized she did a better job emphasizing what made her beautiful with makeup than the artists who just did the same look for everyone. Highlighting what made me her, transformed her into a simple-glamour girl. For the past 9 years, she has been a Freelance Professional Make-Up Artist & Entrepreneur! As her beauty and social worlds collided, she watched them struggle in people's eyes as they posted selfies. Their captions said what they wanted people to believe about them, but she discerned immediately they didn't feel that way inside. They were just trying to be what they thought the world and media wanted them to be and were losing themselves in the process. All of her years in the Beauty Industry had taught her you can't chase beauty because styles and trends are always going to change. The best thing to do is to accept your reality and highlight your strengths. Now a Wife, Mother of 4, and a Successful Business Women! August sees true beauty in people, but I am called to help them see it in themselves! --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/everydayguru/message Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/everydayguru/support

I have been an entrepreneur since 2013 as a Multilevel Marketer, marketing affordable Legal & Identity Theft Services for individuals, families and Small Business Owners. I retired in 2016 as a Correctional Lieutenant, and after going out to different events to market the Legal & Identity Theft Services, I decided that I wanted to be in front of more people at one time, so I invested in myself and took Public Speaking Training, and I learned that hosting events was a business. I use to host events in my back yard for free to get my services in front of others. When I invested in Coaching and Public Speaking it was then that I learned that hosting events was a business. In 2017 I started taking my events into hotels and employing Public Speakers who wanted to Speak & Sell from the stage, Vendors are employed to market their products and services at our events.
