If you were a regular viewer of NBC's popular soap opera Days of Our Lives in the 1970s and 80s, you know instantly who I'm talking about when I simply say Doug and Julie. Actress Susan Seaforth joined the cast in 1968, followed by Bill Hayes two years later. And 4 years after that, their on-screen romance turned into reality, when they married in real life. And while Bill and Susan Hayes have lived happily ever after, unfortunately the same was not true for Doug and Julie. Oh yes, they suffered the usual soap opera tribulations, but then in the mid-1980s, MBC decided to take it soap operas - including Days of Our Lives - in a new, much younger Direction. Doug and Julie - I mean, Bill and Susan Hayes - were fired.

President Peggy Korba led the lady veterans in thanking the Quilts of Honor group as each quilt was revealed. Another highlight of the meeting was when many veterans committed to having their name inscribed on the wall of the La Vernia Veterans Memorial Wall. The Women Warrior...Article Link

Many thanks to Susan Hayes for sponsoring the next episode of Iron Druid: Hounded! I'm really getting into this story now, and I have no idea what to expect next which is always a really fun feeling. So this episode I'm covering the chapters where Atticus has the police absolutely all the way up his ass. They get called over because of the fight he had with the Fir Bolgs to start off with, but then it turns into a whole thing because fucking Aengus is obviously trying to set Atticus off. So they not only figure out that the park ranger was killed by a dog, they even know what kind of dog. Then there's the whole thing with Brighid showing up. Now this bitch I do not trust at all. I don't know what it is about her, perhaps the fact that her motives are a little too pure and I never really believe that's ever the case when it comes to gods and fae, but also because of how skillfully she seems to wring information out of Atticus. Sure, one could argue that she doesn't "wring" anything from him and that he's just telling his new ally some valuable info, buuuuut...I'm not buying it. Hope that you all enjoy the episode, and I will see you this Friday with the next 5 chapters!
