More than 200 community members gathered at the Wilson County Expo and Community Center that evening to voice their concerns over a proposed wastewater treatment facility. Berlanga, along with subdivision homeowners association (HOA) President Andi Kelly and Vice President Debi Segovia, led the town hall, along with a...Article Link
According to documents filed in the 81st Judicial District, plaintiff HK Bella's Ranch (HKBR) has filed a lawsuit against Wilson County for writ of mandamus — which orders government officials to perform their public duty — in a suit seeking damages and “non-monetary relief, exclusive of attorneys' fees” related to a plat of Bella's Ranch Phase 1 from 2024. HKBR claims “the county had until Aug. 1, 2024, to either approve or disapprove the plat” and “the County did neither,” “choosing instead to wait more than 80 days to place the plat” on a commissioners court agenda. Moreover, the claim...Article Link

Thanks to Clarence Ehlers for this interesting “Glimpse of the Past.” I recently came upon a document about the history of Wilson County schools by Barbara J. If you look closely at the building (see closeup photo), there is something unexplainable in...Article Link
Editor: Re: “Equipment sale, purchase turn into indictments for Wilson County officials” Aug. 27 Texas Rangers and FBI sniffing around? That's not a game of hide-and-seek; that's real accountability knocking. Or is it a political smear job? Some suggest it's not purely a coincidence that Auditor Treviño is currently running for county judge, and Commissioner Jeffery Pierdolla supposedly leans against the establishment. On one hand, we have the possibility of criminal financial acts by public servants. On the other hand, we have the possibility of charges drummed up to attack a political opponent and affect an election cycle. Didn't the...Article Link
