DownloadWelcome to episode 411 of LOTC and this episode is the start of a new decade for a new year. Each year LOTC has been visiting decades to rank their top 5 horror movies from each year. This year the crew has chosen the 1990's decade to travel through. !990 is where we have traveled to this episode and as we always do, we are ranking our top five horror movies from that year. We invited special guest Greg Buzzelli from Monsters and The Mosh Pit as well as other projects to join us. This was a year that surprised the hosts as they were thinking 1990 would be a weaker year for horror, but it was actually a strong year. So grab your favorite snacks and beverages and journey with us through the Land Of The Creeps.HELP KEEP HORROR ALIVETOP 5 LIST'SGREG B.1. IT2. BASKET CASE 23. BRIDE OF RE-ANIMATOR4. Stephen King Month 2.0 continues on The Blind Rage Podcast! For week two, we're taking a look at the 1990 anthology TALES FROM THE DARKSIDE: THE MOVIE, a spinoff of the 1980s television series, featuring a stacked cast of well-knowns, including: Christian Slater, Steve Buscemi, Julianne Moore, William Hickey, and legendary rock star Debbie Harry. A young Matthew Lawrence stars as Timmy, a neighborhood kid who's been abducted by a suburban housewife (Harry), who just happens to be a witch. And a cannibal with a taste for children. The only way Timmy can prevent her from cooking and eating him is by reading her stories from a massive tome, which holds dozens of twisted yarns. Will Timmy keep his captor distracted long enough to devise a plan to escape? --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/blindragepod/message
We're clawing our way back into Kill By Kill: Bite Size!! This week, TALES FROM THE DARKSIDE: THE MOVIE takes the hit as we talk "The Cat From Hell" segment, the realistic acting choices of David Johansen, trade William Hickey impressions, consider Stephen King's obsession with hit men vs. unlikely opponents, pick apart the story's timeline shifts, and try not to make too many puns about cat's killing people in overtly sexualized ways. All this, plus we "paws" for a cat-tacular edition of Choose Your Own Deathventure, and celebrate the many bottomless shots of SHORT CUTS!! There's a lot to swallow on this episode of Kill By Kill - check it out!! Oh, and the movie we can't remember is LET IT RIDE. It's not good. On this episode of HOW DO YOU DO, FELLOW KIDS? we're continuing our look at the life and career of Steve Buscemi with the big-screen adaptation of the anthology TV series TALES FROM THE DARKSIDE. It's TALES FROM THE DARKSIDE: THE MOVIE, which features adaptations of stories by Stephen King (adapted by George A Romero!) and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, alongside an all-star cast including Deborah Harry, Christian Slater, Julianne Moore, David Johansen, James Remar and - of course - STEVE BUSCEMI! How does it stack up to other anthology films? LISTEN AND FIND OUT. We also discuss Steve Buscemi's favorite albums, whether mummies are scary, our recent health issues and SO MUCH MORE.
Spinning off from the TV show of the same name (itself a spin-off of the 1982 film Creepshow), Tales From The Darkside: The Movie is a horror anthology movie produced by George Romero, directed by John Harrison, and featuring performances by Steve Buscemi, Christian Slater, Deborah Harry, William Hickey, David Johansen, Rae Dawn Chong, James Remar, and (in her movie debut) Julianne Moore. Moderately successful at the box office, Tales From The Darkside: The Movie enjoyed a lengthy afterlife as a perennial on basic cable broadcasts and, alongside the TV program, has attracted a decently-sized fanbase among horror movie nerds. Ryan is joined by Cheryl and Sylvan for a discussion about this campy, enjoyable feature. Thematic topics in the discourse include the "mixed flavors" approach that's inherent to the anthology format, the movie's indirect roots in Japanese folklore, Tales From The Darkside's knack for giving talented actors their first big break, why puppets are better than CGI every time, and why this movie would've been better if Patrick Swayze was in it. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/ryan-valentine3/support

We somehow manage to get into a discussion on bondage in film... and that's even with a brief mention of the Rosie O'Donnell comedy on the subject. But we ARE NOT discussing that film, instead the sexy Antonio Banderas is a man who loves a good Walkman, wigs, and some ropes in the bedroom, the latter of which would be required to watch YET ANOTHER horror anthology from Stephen King in TALES FROM THE DARKSIDE: THE MOVIE. But we're podcast professionals. Which means we only talk about bathtub toys as butt plugs seven times as we discuss the color palette in the Pedro Almodóvar film. Enjoy!
