Zero to hero in no time flat.We return now to the tried and true Xbox Game Pass "Surprise Me" button and the result is this third-person action adventure title developed by Ubisoft Quebec. From the same team that brought us Assassin's Creed Odyssey, this foray is decidedly more fantastical, diving head first into the myths and legends of those ancient times. Will mixing the standard Ubisoft formula with a more colorful animated presentation lead to an engaging experience? Or will fatigue with open-world collect-a-thons serve as its death sentence? One thing is for sure: It is a step up in many ways, but Ubisoft has some lingering issues that need to be addressed. Matt and Jesse recently visited Ubisoft Quebec to check out Assassin's Creed Shadows for an IGN exclusive, and now they're on the podcast chatting about everything from samurai to seasons to dynamic weather. Emma's also getting involved with her thoughts on recent indie hit Animal Well, which has been gradually melting her mind with its fantastic puzzle designs. As ever, there's also the regular dose of madness thanks to your feedback, including a horrifying account of chickens being roasted in a machine that is categorically incapable of roasting meat. Send in your food nonsense to ign_ukfeedback@ign.com (or questions and thoughts about games, TV, and films – we should probably stay on topic at least 60% of the time). Today SNTR PRESENTS: Cheating invades consoles - A new cheat engine that uses machine-learning can work on consoles, including Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5. The anti-cheat watch group ACPD posted its findings on the new tool on Twitter, explaining how it will be difficult for developers to detect. The tool seems to use a visual feed provided by a capture card (ones like Elgato and AverMedia make) to a PC, which is then analyzed using machine-learning to determine targets. All the player needs to do is aim in the general direction of a foe online, with the tool then figuring out precise aiming and even taking the required shots for the kill. The tool can be configured in a bunch of way, with the video demonstrating how a cheater can increase or decrease the field of view the tool uses to grab targets. Ubisoft sends Assassin's Creed Live Service - As we predicted the Assassin's Creed Valhalla DLC was a test and recently released codename "Infinity" will be Ubisoft's "upcoming, early in-development project". Bloomberg was the first to report on the details about Assassin's Creed Infinity on Wednesday, July 7. Later on in the same day, Ubisoft confirmed that Assassin's Creed Infinity is in the works. The French video game company describes Infinity as part of its new "collaborative, cross-studio structure" between two studios. Specifically, Ubisoft Quebec and Ubisoft Montreal. Ubisoft claims that this collaboration will help "guide, grow, evolve, and define the overall future of Assassin's Creed." Ghost of Tsushima Pricing - The PS5 version of Director's Cut will also add exclusive enhancements – like support for DualSense‘s features – not possible on the last-gen console. All well and good so far. However, the PS5 upgrade locks hardware-specific enhancements behind a paywall, which has drawn the ire of fans. Elden Ring New Details - Elden Ring's latest information dump comes from Bandai Namco itself. However, it didn't come with much fanfare. It wasn't until eagle-eyed observers pointed out the changes that people started to notice the official website page of Elden Ring had been updated. #ghostoftsushima #acinfinity #eldenring --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/sntrpresents/support

Gareth Coker had the oppportunity to explore authentic music from China's Qin Dynasty in his soundtrack for Immortals Fenyx Rising: Myths of the Eastern Realms, inspired by ancient Chinese myths. Gareth says having the help of the amazing team at Ubisoft Chengdu in China was key to using the correct instruments from the period 221-207 BC. One of the challenges of using a small ensemble of ancient instruments was letting them sound like themselves while blending them with the other traditional Western instruments Gareth also used to create a fantasy feeling with the music. It was easier, he said, to adapt the Western instruments to the limitations of the Chinese ones. He relied on wind virtuoso Kristin Naigus once again to play many of the Chinese flutes, including the xiao, which was specific to the era of the Qin Dynasty. Much of the foundation for how the music would work in Myths of the Eastern Realms had already been laid when Gareth worked with Ubisoft Quebec on the original
Hey what's up and welcome! This release marks a big change in the podcast going forward, I wanted to take more time writing and editing in an effort to make this whole experience more interesting for you, the listener! Immortals Fenyx Rising was an incredible surprise for me, coming out of nowhere to be one of the best games of 2020, the team at Ubisoft Quebec has done some incredible work of perfecting the Ubisoft formula of game design and they deserve all the credit in the world for their accomplishment here.
Cuando se llamaba "Gods & Monsters" todos dudamos de él, pero el nuevo juego de Ubisoft Quebec tiene con que defenderse. Estás son nuestras primeras impresiones de "Immortals: Fenyx Rising".

Immortals Fenyx Rising is a new IP from Ubisoft Quebec. Set in the world of Greek mythology itself and not just a world with Greek mythology, the open-world action-adventure RPG is a sharp departure from Ubisoft's hyperrealistic worlds of its existing franchises. We got the chance to speak with Thierry Dansereau, the game's Art Director about bringing the world of Immortals Fenyx Rising to life.
Immortals Fenyx Rising is Ubisoft's latest game and newest IP. Developed by Ubisoft Quebec, the game is set in Greek mythology on the Golden Isle, home to the gods. You play Fenyx, a shipwrecked storyteller who is thrown into a battle between the gods and the most terrifying of the Titans: Typhon. With humanity turned to stone, it's your mission to save both the gods and humanity. In an effort to create what he views a the perfect world, Typhon has separated the gods from their essences, which he deems as the chaos that makes the gods unworthy of overseeing humanity. As Fenyx, you must unite the gods with their essences which will take overcoming heroic trials and more. We got the chance to speak with Jeffrey Yohalem, the game's Narrative Director and Lead Writer about creating Immortals Fenyx Rising. We get the chance to discuss the creative process in writing about Greek mythology, which serves as the base for much existing pop culture franchise, and how the team behind the game made it unique. With a fresh and humorous take on the Greek gods, Jeffrey Yohalem details his inspiration about the choice to make the game humorous and using that humor to tell an impactful story about the importance of embracing your imperfections. Additionally, Jeffrey Yohalem explains his favorite mythological elements to work into the narrative and why they chose to make Fenyx a character that you create and not just one that you're given. Hit play on the audio player above to hear the entire interview, and learn more from Jeffrey Yohalem about the depth of Immortals Fenyx Rising and how the team aimed to blend humor and emotion for one exciting game.

So it was great catching up with him and hearing about his experience as a student and his transition to a professional animator at one of the largest gaming studios in the world. Sebastien has worked on three Assassin's Creed titles (Freedom Cry, Rogue, and Syndicate), and most recently Ubisoft's For Honor.
