Purpose, prayer and obedience — three very important things we will be exploring on today's episode with our guest Stephanie Bright. Stephanie is on a mission to help women experience the love and power of Jesus in the everyday moments of their lives and is the Founder of the ministry Christian Girls Pop where she shares about the Word of God and His transforming love on college campuses. Today we chat about: How knowing your worth helps you make better decisions Why practicing obedience builds your confidence to trust God Why you need to have an encounter with Christ yourself How small steps of obedience can lead you to your God-given purpose The truth that God is not a demanding parenting figure, but rather a loving good Father Christianity may seem like a long list of rules, but the true purpose of obedience to God is freedom. Bio: Stephanie Bright is the founder of Christian Girls POP, an online international Women's ministry. While attending college, Stephanie began leading Bible studies from her dorm room, which led to the birth of Christian Girls POP (CGPOP). Through CGPOP, Stephanie can reach women across the world of all ages to proclaim the Word of God in a relevant way. As a Bible teacher, she uses her life experiences to help others realize their potential by highlighting scripture in her unique way. Stephanie aspires to bring CGPOP to college campuses worldwide to guide young women into a meaningful relationship with Christ. Stephanie also enjoys leading worship, spending time with her younger siblings, and doing puzzles in her free time. Today I'm giving my thoughts on breaking off fear and walking in confidence as a daughter of the king!! He loves you beautiful woman of God!! 1 John 4:18- There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love.Fear is NOT from GodFear can hold you hostage- when we partner with fear we aren't walking in God's perfect love. We are listening to an imposter…the master manipulator. We are allowing counterfeit exchanges to take place.God's love is a beautiful unexplainable exchange. We give nothing in exchange for unfailing and unending love! Boom mind blown. It's like trying to buy something with counterfeit money- it's fake and worth nothing. have you ever had someone check your bills before? 3 ways to keep you moving forward in confidence in your God given purposes today!!God has purpose for you! You were made ON purpose WITH purpose- first you need to be reminded of this!! Remember who you are! Make time with Jesus priority!!Use your words and speak it out! Here are some scriptures to write down and speak out over yourself!2 Timothy 1:7- God has not given me the spirit of fear, but of power, love and sound mind.Ps 34:4- I sought the Lord, and he answered me and delivered me from all my fears.Romans 8:15- The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship(or in this case daughership) And by him we cry, “ Abba, Father.” The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God's children. - even insert YOUSELF into this! “The Spirit I received does not make ME a slave…” Ps 56:3 “When I am afraid, I put my trust in You. Ps 23:4 Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.Scripture on confidence-Jeremiah 17:7- But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him.Hebrews 4:16- Let us then approach God's throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.Be encouraged, blessed and challenged today friend! ✨Come hang with me on IG- https://www.instagram.com/mrsangelapitnikoff/✨Join our FB sisterhood!- https://www.facebook.com/groups/kingdomdaughterssisterhood✨Be more amazing and leave a review!- https://lovethepodcast.com/LoHGyj✨Want some fun free resources? You Don't Have to Earn God's Love: You are Loved, You are Cherished, and You are His This is week two of the Desires of the Heart Series, and this week we are talking about The Desire to be Affirmed. There are ways that God reveals to us how He sees everything we are doing while reminding us that we don't have to earn God's love. You already have it. Hey friends, welcome to the Hearing Jesus Podcast. Do you sometimes doubt if you are truly hearing God's voice or if it's really your own? Do you wonder how you can know the difference? Do you struggle to feel confident in your relationship with God and what He says in his word? Do you sometimes feel stagnant or like you hit a wall in your spiritual life? Hey, I'm your host, Rachael Groll: missionary, author, pastor, and life coach. And I have been there. I too was doubting God's voice in my own life. I too felt insecure about the things I thought God might be calling me to do. I wanted to make a difference in the world and be obedient to what God was calling me to do, but I wasn't quite sure how to figure out what exactly that was. I kept telling myself that I was wasting time trying to figure it out or waiting for Him to show me. Or that I wasn't qualified to do the things I thought He might be telling me to do. The answer for me was found in the pages of the Bible, as I learned how to understand what it was actually saying. If you are ready to grow in your faith and to step confidently into the calling God has for you, then join me as we dig deep into God's word so you can learn to live out your faith in your everyday life. Friend, you are loved, you are cherished, and you are His. The Hearing Jesus Podcast will encourage and equip you to step into the calling God has for your life, living out your faith in the everyday. Together we will break down walls that keep us from growing spiritually. We will dig deep into our Bibles to understand and connect the Scriptures to our lives. We will boldly obey what God calls us to do, walking through doors that only He can open. Join me for your weekly dose of faith, honesty, and prayer. In this six-week study from the Book of John, Rachael Groll takes you on an in-depth exploration into the lives of six women Jesus knew. Women often deal with feelings of insecurity and unworthiness, yet the lives of these women show that Jesus values us, wants a relationship with us, and can use us to further His kingdom. In her warm, conversational style, Rachael ties together her life experience, knowledge of the Scriptures, and her compassion for women to encourage us and enable us to become the women God has called us to be. January 07, 2022 Daily Devotion: "Walk Confidently Above the Storm..." Matthew 14:28-31 New International Version 28 “Lord, if it's you,” Peter replied, “tell me to come to you on the water.”29 “Come,” he said. Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. 30 But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!”31 Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. “You of little faith, he said, “why did you doubt?” Remember the passage where Jesus walked upon the waters? When Peter saw Jesus, He said: “Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water” (Matt. 14:28). Jesus immediately gave the order, and Peter was able to walk upon the waters as well. The Bible says that soon a great storm suddenly appeared and when he saw it, Peter became fearful. He began to sink and Jesus had to extend His hand to save him. This passage demonstrates that when fear is allowed to enter the heart, it pushes out faith. The enemy will always try to break the rhythm of your communion with God in all areas. If doubt or fear finds a space in your heart, fear will sever your faith and you will not see any miracles. But when the supernatural power of God intervenes, it tears them apart, restores order and faith in your life, giving you the victory. So today, choose not to conform to the problems around you. Keep your sight firmly on the Lord, and walk confidently above the storm. Walk by faith, not by sight --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/gerzon-etino/message
What would you do if God had you to share your innermost thoughts with the world? In this interview, Miatta Harris shares her testimony on just how God had her do this through her poetry. Miatta Harris is a Poet, Author, and Educator. She often fosters creativity with her students through the arts, whether it is through dance, song, or poetry. Teaching is her natural gift; she later discovered that it is also her spiritual gift. Writing, praying, and the arts have been a healing process for her during this journey of seeking fulfillment and purpose. The challenges she encountered in her adulthood have strengthened her desires as a writer. Initially, she began writing because she had many things consuming her that she needed to get it out on paper. Then it turned into a therapeutic tool and outlet for her. Now she views her writing as a tool to encourage and empower other people. She writes her poems from a standpoint of strength, resilience, peace, perseverance, and self-love. She is the author of a children's book entitled, “Dede, the Baby Circus Elephant” and a faith-based self-help book entitled, “Walk Confidently into your New Season: A guide to build your spiritual and mental muscles”. She often performs her poems at various open mic venues throughout the Baltimore and Washington, DC Metropolitan areas. Miatta holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Master of Arts in Teaching. As we live the Christian life we will have battles. We must not fear the battle or the enemy; rather we must live confidently in the strength of Christ.
As we live the Christian life we will have battles. We must not fear the battle or the enemy; rather we must live confidently in the strength of Christ.
By Pastor Kenneth Harbaum
As we’ve come to the end of this book, we find that the Apostle John delineates his purpose here in the epilogue when he explains, “I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life” (1 John 5:13). He provides us with four tests that enable us to have assurance in our salvation. They are: 1) do I obey God and His Word, 2) do I trust God completely, 3) do I love others as God loves, and 4) do I experience the indwelling of His Holy Spirit? In our sermon last week, we explored this verse (and the few that follow it) and considered how we might walk confidently in God’s Light and Love. We determined that we should have confidence in our salvation and confidence in our prayer. Today, we want to take a few minutes to consider the last three aspects of this passage—confidence in our admonition, confidence in our standing and confidence in our understanding.
We have come to the end of our sermon series in the book of First John. If you remember, the first half of the book focuses on how “God Is Light” and how we should live as a result. The second half of the book focuses on how “God Is Love” and how we should also love as He has loved us. In this last part of 1 John 5, I see this section more like an Epilogue to the main body of the letter. Just as the first four verses of First John introduce the overall theme and purpose of the book, the last nine verses of the letter serve as a conclusion for the previous assertions. As we just noted, God is portrayed in this letter as Light and Love, and John is encouraging us to live our lives in God’s Light and Love!
