This month is all about students to give them a platform to spread their incredible stories in the midst of a season that has taken so much from them including prom, graduation and freshman year. Teya Weaver is another example of a young woman who has her head on straight. Teya is originally from Chicago who spent middle and high school in Indianapolis before enrolling at Indiana University Bloomington. Like David Bell (last week's episode), Teya is another shining star from Warren Central High School who remained motivated despite the challenges of her environment growing up on the Far Eastside of Indianapolis. Teya's episode is filled with hope... between navigating the expenses of college, overcoming the grief of gun violence and starting her own organization at IU called You See Me. Her organization brings together women of color to discuss empowerment, colorism, racism, LGBTQ+ and mental health. May is National Mental Health month and this episode dives deeply into it. Come join the Juicers as they dissect what is arguably the most infamous word in the English Language.Don’t know what word Kayla and Evelyn could possibly be referring to? Here are some hints as to what it is: This word is simultaneously feared and awed by those who identify as Caucasian or White; This word is often misappropriately used by minorities who do not identify as African or Black; andThis word makes frequent appearances in today’s Hip-Hop and Rap Music. Give up? For the next couple of weeks, the Juicers will be talking about the ever-infamous N-Word. If you’re in the mood to get into a serious discussion about who can and can’t use the N-Word, as well as hear some side discussions about colorism in the African American/Black Community, then this Two-Part Series will be it for you! Like Childish Gambino said in his song You See Me, “can we hear the N-Word one day and not be upset?” Well, can we? The N-Word - Bibliography

#INTHEMIXclick HERE to playSo many people what to know about the music we are playing here at SLSRadio. We want to thank all the artist who put out such great music that we have all been enjoying all these years. Music that changes peoples lives and encourages the walk of faith. Music that builds up the believer and talks about faith and the love of Jesus Christ not music that degrades women and leads our young men down the road to destruction. We want to thank our in house mixer, DJ EM-D for all the hard work he does with the #INTHEMIX shows.
