This instruction is coming from an apostle who very much believed Jesus would return in his time, and is written to a church (Thessalonica) which was very taken with the possibility of Jesus coming any moment. As such, if this was the pertinent instruction for them 2000 years ago, how much more ought we to take this to heart now? Believe and Speak the Truth that Christ is Coming! Behave and Be Together in this Truth that Christ is Coming! What would that require of us today? How should the church look and function? What should be the most vital interest of the church body gathered together? What is the purpose behind the things we do as a church? How do our activities fit into preparation for Jesus' return? How is the church to live in the hour of Christs' expected return?

Bienvenue dans Be… Together. ✨
So a big day is coming up and we are supposed to be ready for it. It is the Day of the Lord.We are to BE SURE we are on the right team. We are to BE DRESSED like our Daddy. He's dressed as a warrior on that day and we should be too. Our battle is a bit different than His. He's got His battle taken care of against Sin, Death and Evil. We need to be ready for our battle. We are dressed with faith that He's got those big battles taken care of; Hope in the assurance that it is going to work out perfectly; and Love in the meantime for Him and His people. We are to BE TOGETHER. As always, in the fellowship of believersWe are to BE ENCOURAGING one another; having enough courage to spill over to those people standing nearbyWe are to BE BUILDing. He's reminding us to Love More and More; to grow in it.Subscribe, like, re-tweet, re-link, share, comment and come back tomorrow bewithme.us
Marni and Chris discuss another episode of Love is Blind. This time it is The Love Triangle. The 30-something contestants are still in their pods, slowly working their way up to meeting IRL. A couple of couples have been born out of the show already, but will they last? When the contestants finally meet what indiscretions will come to light, and how will they be handled? Key takeaways from this episode: Do couples need to agree on everything? Does physical attraction make or break a relationship? How to integrate different backgrounds and cultures Actions speak louder than words Do We Need to Agree on the Big Topics to Be Together? [2:26] When we gloss over things we don't see eye-to-eye on, like religion, does it come back to haunt our relationships? When we are super attracted to another person, we can let our non-negotiables and deal breakers slide because we believe that love trumps everything else. In this episode of Love is Blind Kyle and Shaina are discussing their differences around faith and religion. Kyle says he is a science guy who would likely mock Shaina if she chose to pray before dinner. She tells him she goes to church and has a strong faith. Marni points out that a common mistake is collecting data about a person and then convincing ourselves that differences can be worked through later. Shaina says yes to becoming engaged to Kyle even after she discovers he doesn't share her faith. If you find yourself in this situation, don't ignore the differences and discuss them in detail. Expectations about our non-negotiables should be concrete early in relationships. Ask questions until the subject is clear. Deeper than Face Value [21:09] During this episode, Shake is talking with Deepti. Shake admits to being overly focused on appearance but he has an epiphany after making a deep connection with Deepti that he now feels it is more about the connection and that they have shared interests and values. When they meet he discovers that she is hot and instantly grabs her and says he wants to make her pregnant. Marni can't decide if she thinks this is weird or cute? If you are dating someone from a different culture you need to decide upfront, as a couple, which parts of the culture you are going to embrace and which ones you are not going to embrace. Like a Silent Movie [25:32] Marni reminds us that like a silent movie, actions are more important than words. On the show, Shane makes a perfect example of someone who says one thing and then does something else. He asks Natalie to be his girlfriend but then flirts with Shaina. When Shaina (a hot mess in her own right) calls him out on it, Shane changes the subject and asks a mundane question such as ‘so, what are you wearing babe?'. Chris asks what is so special about Shane that he has two girls falling all over him. No one can figure it out. Marni says she thinks he has a way of making the girls feel good about themselves but time will tell. Do not fall into a love triangle. Soft Machine - Fifth A really cool progressive rock album (or a boring jazz-fusion thingamabob, depending on the point of view), this is a great thing to hear on your favorite intoxicating substance. Our tracks of the week are Sting's “We'll Be Together”, Nucleus' “Song For The Bearded Lady” and we close with Lee's song “Thank You For Being You.” Thank you for being our fans. Cheers.
More often than not, what a person contributes to the music industry goes hand in hand with what we think an artist or band is worth to the music industry. Typically an artist's contributions are dependent on their longevity in the music industry, but that is not always the case. Throughout music history, songs come and songs go—along with the artists who sing them. The huge "hits" that stick around seem to live in the musical air supply infinitely, and the artists responsible for these one-off anomalies have been referred to as "One Hit Wonders". Though I hardly believe the name was conceived out of negativity, the negative connotations that have been associated with this clever little reference are undeniable. On the other hand, there are many, many "One Hit Wonders" that have become an integral part of music history, and the culture that surrounds it. Hell, there are a ton of one-off hits that you would be considered more recognizable than some big artist's entire catalog that's been around for years and years. Everyone knows "Baby Got Back", but most don't remember "We'll Be Together" by Sting. It's for reasons like this that the three of us pretty much agree that the term "One Hit Wonder" shouldn't be used as something derogatory, but as something that is more of a necessity that we all can appreciate whether we realize it or not. Fast forward to now, and it seems like there are more "One Hit Wonders" than ever before, and a major reason for this is the rise of social media, and things like TikTok, which almost encourage and support "One Hit Wonders" by pushing them to the forefront of our lives, and just as quickly as they appear, they are never to be heard from again, and that is okay. So join us as we take a plunge into the internet abyss to find artists and songs that you probably forgot about long ago, but know exactly what song we're talking about when mentioned. This week on the Movie Squad pod, Tristan Fidler and Simon Miraudo explore some movies of the mind! For special guest Breakfast host Doug Swampé, Tristan kicks off proceedings with a review of Reminiscence, the neo-noir starring Hugh Jackman as a private investigator in a future Miami who explores the deepest recesses of his clients' memories. It comes from writer-director Lisa Joy, co-creator of the Westworld TV show. Is it worth the high price of rental, having skipped Australian cinemas? Next, Simon covers the tongue-twisty title Preparations to Be Together for an Unknown Period of Time. This acclaimed Hungarian drama concerns a neurosurgeon who believes she's scheduled to reunite with the love of her life on a bridge in Budapest, only to discover... he doesn't know who she is at all. Is it a case of gaslighting? Mistaken identity? Or is it that pesky brain playing tricks on her? In cinemas 7 October, get the early word on this excellent 'unmooring' film. Intim wirds heute – zuerst einmal mit einer Lebensbeichte, mit den «Bekenntnissen des Hochstaplers Felix Krull» verfasst bekanntlich von Thomas Mann, neu verfilmt von Detlev Buck. Und ebenfalls intim, aber diesmal aus Ungarn: «Preparations to Be Together for an Unknown Period of Time» - ein Liebesfilm mit neurologischem Touch. Beide Filme bespricht für uns Georges Wyrsch. Und weil auf Amazon Prime eine brandneue Cinderella-Verfilmung zu sehen ist, macht sich Michael Sennhauser Gedanken zum Aschenbrödel.
Join Meron and listen to Tory rant over yet another modern female-centered romance drama, Be Together

We're continuing our summer of action and diving deeper. And as we're releasing this episode, we're also in the midst of a summer that's been filled with more friends and family and conversation and ability to BE TOGETHER in a way that we haven't been able to be since March of 2020. #vaccines It makes us think of friendship, community, and how much we learn from each other - not only through our similarities, which is how we often create friendships, but also our differences, which can be particularly true when we think about cross-racial friendships and communities. Today we're excited to have Kelly and Aurora from The Opt-In, two of our very favorites, to discuss community, cross-racial friendships, and so much more. What we love about these women is that they are real - real about the good parts of their friendships and identities, and also the tough parts. And because we loved them so much, we split our conversation with them into two parts. Part I is this episode. Part II - well, you'll have to stay tuned. But it centers around what we can all do in terms of social activism and moving the needle - and spoiler alert, it starts from within. Have questions, comments, or concerns? Email us at hello@dearwhitewomen.com What to listen for: Who Kelly and Aurora are, and what community means to each of them How community can be hard to find for White people, and some of the ways in which that physically appears How we can create more inclusive communities for ourselves and our families The true strengths - and challenges - of cross-racial friendships About Aurora: Aurora Archer, an Afro-Latina, hustled up the corporate ladder to the executive suite, and yet still experienced the same implicit bias, microaggressions, and overt racism as her parents, who spent their lives working as domestic help while raising Aurora in Texas. After 25 years of marketing awards and promotions, Aurora realized there had to be a better way to use her talents without sacrificing her true self and health. She wisely identified the white supremacist cultural conditioning at the center of the problem, and Aurora set her sights on transforming our culture, from the inside out, one tough conversation at a time. In 2018, Aurora partnered with her white best friend Kelly Croce Sorg to form The Opt-In and continued the journey of intentionally supporting Kelly and their white podcast listeners, learning community, corporate clients, and others to learn with accountability the racial literacy, stamina, and introspective skills they need to help dismantle white supremacy within themselves and all aspects of their lives. About Kelly: Kelly Croce Sorg, an expert in white womanhood, grew up über-privileged as the daughter of an NBA team owner. Her father lived the rags-to-riches story of the white American Dream, and her mom, a homemaker, raised the kids while her dad focused on numerous entrepreneurial ventures. After college, Kelly's adult life looked a lot like those of her white friends and family. Ask most white women her age, and they would tell you Kelly had it all yet she constantly sought self-improvement. It wasn't until her bestie, Aurora Archer, gifted Kelly the book White Fragility she realized she wasn't as “woke” as she thought she was, and after numerous heart-to-hearts with Aurora, Kelly opted in to examining her white identity as a way to claim her own humanity. She is now co-founder of The Opt-In, where she continues to learn while engaging in the uncomfortable, but necessary, conversations about race with her co-host Aurora, in what she calls a love letter to her white friends and family, advocating that they can all do better, herself included. Whoooo's that guy? Where did he come from? Where can I get one? Come with us as we venture Back To School (Again!) for a return to Rydell High! That's right, Grease 2 is the word! We'll Be Together with the T-Birds and Pink Ladies once more, but will we have fun Prowlin' the corridors like we did with Zuko and Sandy? Will Danny be a Cool Rider, willingly joining Drew for the ride on this Reproduction of the original? Or will he wish he could Turn Back the Hands of Time and relive the golden days of Rydell instead? Whatever the outcome, you can be sure you'll Score Tonight by downloading our latest episode! Where do these messages come from? What sort of dark magic are they imbued with? We can say with some certainty that they can't all be real, but how many chain letters are real? Is there a way to tell the real ones from the fakers? What should you do if you fail to send a chain letter, and are subsequently cursed? These are several questions that we may or may not answer depending on how we feel, and other various circumstances. Urgent! This is very real! You have been visited by the spirit of the song Be Together by the band Dream Date! Convince 5 friends to check out Dream Date on bandcamp or on instagram (@dream_date_band) if you want your friends to hear a nice tune :). Or, if you'd rather not do that, that's fine too :). Content Warning: some discussion of an eye infection caused by bird poop, many people dying due to magic, chemical warfare, unlawful arrest, unreasonable demands for retaliatory justice, fear of medical care, thievery, multiple references to fictional curses and supernatural attacks caused by chain letters, arrow based attacks. When you’re navigating trauma, it feels like the worst thing in the world. But time after time in our lives, bad situations have turned out to be some of the best things that ever happened to us. And the most difficult circumstances taught us to be more intentional about the life we want to create and put us on the trajectory to build Destined to Be. On this episode, we’re sharing our conversation with dear friend Aaron Opalewski who interviewed us on his Scale Your Life Podcast a few months back. We start from the very beginning of our journey, discussing how we became a couple and each built our own successful businesses—and how things changed when we had our first child. Aaron asks what we do to instill our core values in our kids, and we describe our commitment to being fully present with our children and lifting each other up. Listen in for insight on what inspired us to start Destined to Be TOGETHER and get our top advice for keeping a positive mindset no matter what’s going on in the world!
