After the Vikings drove down the field and scored a touchdown, the Eagles didn’t back down. The Offense clicked. The Defense clicked. The Vikings were completely shut down the remaining 55 minutes of the game, and the Eagles went on to score 38 unanswered points in what became a blowout win. The Eagles are in the Super Bowl!!! The fans were so loud in the stadium. In the fourth quarter of the game, it became a party atmosphere as the realization came that the shoe would not drop, and the Eagles luck would run out. We were going to win the NFC Championship, we were going to beat the Minnesota Vikings, and our Eagles, who fought so hard, maintained their composure and class and “next man up” attitude for the entire season, were going to the big game on an international stage. The NFC Divisional Playoffs at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia had all the markers that the underdog Eagles would be beaten by the Atlanta Falcons at home. The Vegas oddsmakers thought so, the sports analysts thought so. The trouble for all of them, and the Falcons, was the Eagles organization and fans didn’t think so. The Eagles go on to beat the Falcons 15-10 in what was a Defensive struggle throughout. The fans in the stadium were louder than I’ve ever heard them, they stepped up, and believed. Coach Doug Pederson worked up a game plan that worked. Nick Foles did what Nick Foles does, and didn’t try to be Carson Wentz. The Offensive Line was in control, protected Foles, and moved the Defense for the runners. The Eagles Defense, though, stepped up huge. The scheme met what the Falcons threw at them. They kept the defending NFC Champions to only ten points in a playoff game. Think about that. Now the Eagles are playing, at home, in the NFC Championship. This Sunday evening, the Eagles invite the Minnesota Vikings into The Linc. The Eagles will be underdogs again. Here we go, the playoffs. Home game. The Atlanta Falcons. The Eagles fans will be ready in Lincoln Financial Field. The Eagles are the underdogs? Yes, yes they are. For the first time in recent memory, the number one seed in the NFC, playing at home, are the underdogs. This underlines the fact that no other team, right now, respects the Eagles, or what they have done this season. The rest of the league now believes that the Eagles were no more than our injured quarterback Carson Wentz. They forget that the Eagles Defense was 4th in the league in total yards per game, 1st in the league in total yards per game, and the takeaway ratio is near the top. Our Offense? Third in the league in rushing yards per game, and still 13th in the league in passing despite Carson going down. Total Offense yards per game? Seventh. This team is solid. There are three factors in this game: 1. Nick Foles, which Nick shows up? 2. Offensive line protection for Foles. 3. A Defensive attack that stops the run and harasses Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan. Either way, we want to see a good game, a fun game. The Philadelphia Eagles finish out the regular season with a 6-0 loss to the Dallas Cowboys, marking the Eagles first loss both at home this season, and first loss against an NFC East team. What does this mean? Nothing! They finish the season 13-3, made the playoffs, clinched a first round BYE, are the number one seed in the NFC, and have home field throughout the playoffs. This was a season unlike we’ve had since 2004, where the Birds had some notable injuries as well. The Eagles play their first playoff game in two weeks at home. Nick Foles has struggled the last couple games, and that is the biggest concern. We need him to play well. Not great, but well enough to lead the Offense with sustained drives. The Defense can handle the rest. We find out in a few days who the Eagles will play, and we will be watching and waiting. Our favorite Eagle, Brian Dawkins, is one of the finalists for the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Few deserve the honor more than that man. Philadelphia Eagles defeat the Oakland Raiders in an ugly game in a cold Philly. Eagles clinch the number one seed in the NFC with the win and home field advantage throughout the playoffs. So how do we feel? Anything but jubilant. We feel cautious, nervous, scared, irritated, and, well, pessimistic. The Defense, while essentially winning the game, allowed big plays and executed poor tackling at times. And on Offense? Nick Foles was not the same player that he was the week before against the Giants. He got into trouble where he didn’t need to be, and was inaccurate on passes way more often than we would have liked. As such, there is a real concern about the playoffs. Can Foles read and deal with the pressure of better Defenses? Can quality quarterbacks shred our Defense? Many more questions than we are comfortable with for a 13-2 team with home field advantage throughout the playoffs. Well one more game of the regular season is in front of us, the Dallas Cowboys. This game means nothing. But Foles needs more chemistry and familiarity with his receivers, tight ends, and backs. Will be interesting to see what the coaches decide. Ladies and gentlemen, the Philadelphia Eagles have clinched a first round BYE, and get to host the Divisional round! That was the good news of the win over the New York Giants. The bad news is the Eagles Defense allowed almost 500 yards from Eli Manning and the Giants Offense, considered one of the worst Offenses in the league. There is concern, and the rest of the league’s analysts see a big concern. We see more of a Defense that was on its third road game, coming off two tough opponents in the Seahawks and Rams. We do expect the players and coaches to recover back to the very strong level they were weeks ago. At this point, if the Eagles win one of their last two games, and the Vikings lose one game, the Birds have home field advantage throughout the playoffs. Todd throws out the comparison of stats between Carson Wentz and Nick Foles. Amazing how close these two guys are. Quarterback controversy? Talk about an up and down Sunday of football. The Philadelphia Eagles enter their second road game on the west coast after losing the previous week to the Seattle Seahawks. The Los Angeles Rams, helmed by quarterback Jared Goff had a 9-3 record and poised for their run at the playoffs, with a lot to play for. Play they did, and so did the Eagles in a brawl of a football game, with ultimately the Eagles besting the Rams 43-35, and clinching the NFC East. A time for celebration! But wait, there’s more! Unfortunately among the celebration was the realization that potential MVP quarterback Carson Wentz tore his ACL in his left knee. Lost for the season, and well over half of the 2018 calendar year. Gut punch. Kick in the gonads. A full-on stomach flu feel for Eagles fans the world over. So now the Eagles have backup quarterback Nick Foles taking the team forward from here on out this season. Nick Foles led the Eagles previously, and had much success. He now has more weapons than he had before. The Eagles are 11-2, and have the hapless New York Giants this Sunday. Now the Eagles are playing for the #1 seed in the NFC for the playoffs. We said at the beginning of this season that if the Eagles did not make the playoffs, we would consider this season a failure. They met that goal. The rest is fun. We should not be down, we have an amazing team, are 11 and freaking 2, and have seen some great football so far. This ride is not finished yet. Hang on, it may be bumpy though. The beginning of the Philadelphia Eagles west coast trip did not go as planned. Our Birds dropped the game to the Seattle Seahawks 24-10, and dropping their nine-game winning streak in the process. The loss leaves the Eagles with a 10-2 record, and still a win away from clinching the NFC East. Several factors came together such as fumbles, play calls, and coach Doug Pederson not challenging an illegal forward pass, to make plenty of fodder for the naysayers around the league. But this Eagles team will be ready for the Los Angeles Rams this coming Sunday. Todd and Chuck believe the Eagles team will use this week in Anaheim to come to terms with the team they are, and where the mistakes were made, and how they missed opportunities to win in Seattle. We feel the Eagles will bounce back big time and level the Rams. Steve, on the other hand, said the Seattle loss has made him much more nervous about the Rams game than he was before. Either way, Eagles fans are expected be arrive in force for the game in Los Angeles, much like they did when the Eagles played the Chargers last month. The NFC East will belong to the Birds in Green, and with that the start of a new winning streak. Let’s do this, Eagles fans! The Philadelphia Eagles are back home for a week and host the Chicago Bears at Lincoln Financial Field. It didn’t go well for the Bears, as the Eagles dismantled every part of the Bears Defense and Offense, winning 31-3. What else can be said at this point with the 10-1 Eagles? They are playing at a very high level, but not looking, at all, like they playing above themselves as either a team, or individual players. Each player that subs in during the game is simply another threat the other defense has to worry about. And speaking of Defense, the Eagles version of it is ridiculous. They have upended Offensive Lines, quarterbacks, the run game and harassed receivers week after week. The Bears had six, SIX, rushing yards. Next is the first of two big tests for the Eagles. They go out west and take on a very tough Seattle Seahawks. The week after, they travel down the west coast and meet up with the Los Angeles Rams. These are two high-powered teams, led by very good quarterbacks. This test comes at the perfect time in the season, where the Eagles can prove complete dominance of the league, or as a catalyst for the rest of the season to correct any outstanding negatives that are hiding in the team. Either way, the Eagles “magic number” is one. If the Dallas Cowboys lose on Thursday, or the Eagles beat the Seahawks on Sunday, the NFC East belongs to the midnight green and silver. These are good times, let’s enjoy every minute of this Autumn. Philadelphia Eagles versus the Dallas Cowboys. An NFC East division rivalry. The Eagles on the road after a BYE week in very hostile territory, against a desperate Cowboys team with the need to prove something to the Eagles, and the NFL. On paper, the Eagles had the advantage. The Eagles come out in the first half rusty, with Carson Wentz showing some inaccuracies in passing, a few dropped passes that looked like easy grabs, and after scoring on a drive composed mostly of running plays, the run game seemed to be shelved after that drive. Going into the half, the Cowboys led the Eagles 9-7. The second half might be a slugfest and classic NFC East showdown. It was a slugfest. But all of the slugging was done by the Eagles, where they scored 30 unanswered points, blowing out the home team, and practically cementing the NFC East outcome. This week the Eagles come back to a very excited and raucous crowd in Philly, hosting the Chicago Bears. Each week is another step, and the Eagles get one step closer with another win against the Bears. At the Eagles BYE week, just past the mid-point of the season, we see the Philadelphia Eagles with a 8-1 record. The Birds have won seven straight games, and have not lost a game to a team in the NFC or the NFC East. Their last three games they have won by a margin of 28 points (over Denver Broncos 51-23), 23 points (over San Francisco 49ers 33-10), and 10 points (over Washington Redskins 34-24). They are getting better as the season is going, despite four starters gone for the year. This week is Dallas, though. A crucial game with potential playoff ramifications. Everything points to the Eagles winning this game, especially with the odd turmoil the Cowboys organization seems to be in lately. But this is the NFL, where any team seems to be able to win each week. I mean, even the Giants won a game this season. We were all over the place in this episode, though, with not so quiet confidence in this team and what they can do. Already talking playoffs after nine games? When was the last time we had that luxury? We are all just enjoying it right now. Our Philadelphia Eagles take care of business in rainy Philadelphia on Sunday and rightfully smash the San Francisco 49ers 33-10. This puts the Eagles at 7-1, with another NFC win. It was a game they should have won, as the Niners were winless coming into the game. At this point, the Birds are in a commanding spot with the best record in the NFL at the halfway mark of the season, with another home game this week against the struggling Denver Broncos. Denver has lost three straight games, and just changed their starting quarterback to Brock Osweiler. This could rejuvenate their Offense, causing problems for the Eagles Defense, but we still have a lot of confidence there. The Broncos Defense, on the other hand, is solid. If Wentz is consistent, this will be another win going into the BYE. We also talk about the Eagles trade this week before the trade deadline. Eagles acquired Jay Ajayi from the Miami Dolphins for a 2018 fourth round pick. This bolsters the running game significantly as Ajayi is a physical runner and isn’t brought down easy, and can elude tackles. LaGarrette Blount pounds into the defense and gets the yards. We will have two bruising backs now, and Ajayi can also get in some extra blocking to protect Carson Wentz in the pocket. Quality receivers, bruising running backs, and a smart and slippery quarterback. Many pieces are in place. The Philadelphia Eagles have the best record in the NFL. Read that sentence again. The Birds are now 6-1 on the season. They are 3-0 in the NFC East. They are 5-0 in the NFC. They are in solid shape at this point in the season, and have handled adversity in amazing ways. The Washington Redskins were the latest in this midnight green highway when they came to Lincoln Financial Field and lost. After a rough first quarter, where the Eagles were cited with multiple penalties, negative yardage, and a Carson Wentz interception… all on the Eagles first possession of the game, they escaped with only a 3-0 deficit. In the second the Eagles outscored the Redskins 17-7, and barely looked back. We are seeing Wentz to continue to develop, take chances, and make miraculous escapes from the pocket. He is also taking a tough sack, and then throwing touchdown passes a play or two later. He’s a leader of this team, and the team is showing full support for what he is doing and backing him every step of the way. It’s the beginning of something amazing, and a 6-1 record is a great beginning. The Monday Night Football game also brought David Akers back for his induction into the Eagles Hall of Fame, as Akers is the highest scorer in the history of the team. He led an Eagles cheer  during his induction ceremony, and 70,000 fans cheered with him. Next is a home game with the San Francisco 49ers traveling east to play in Philly. The Niners have not won a game yet this season, but that can make them a dangerous prospect. We still do not see this as anything but a win for the Eagles, as the coaching staff and players do not take any team lightly, they know every game is a fight, and no opponent is weak. The negative that came out of the game is the Eagles lost two needed starters in Jason Peters and Jordan Hicks with injuries that ended their seasons. Both players are excellent in their positions and are starters for a reason. It’s a concern for us with having lost two more starters even before the halfway mark in the season. We are also tied for the best record in the NFL, along with the Kansas City Chiefs. This record comes after the Birds spend 4 of those games on the road, only losing the one to the Chiefs themselves. Since that loss, the Eagles have won four straight, and seemed to have gelled as a team, despite a few key player losses due to injury. The depth is apparent as players filled those gaps, and allowed the team to play very solid football. This week the Eagles get Lane Johnson back after a concussion protocol. Right now the Eagles are in great shape with three upcoming home games before the BYE in Week 10. Our Philadelphia Eagles make a statement at the Linc Sunday, crushing the Arizona Cardinals 34-7. This moves the Birds to 4-1 on the season. Nelson Agholor was the Eagles standout receiver of the game, with four receptions for 93 yards and a beautiful touchdown. Quarterback Carson Wentz put up 304 yards in the air with four touchdowns… three of which came in the first quarter of the game alone. This was even more important considering both the Giants and Cowboys lost this week, so the Eagles sit atop the division by themselves. With a powerful new run game, it has kept Defenses off-balance the past two weeks. Wentz also has been doing an exceptional job at recognizing a defensive set he was not comfortable with. His audibles at the line produced positive yardage every time. The coaches are respecting Carson’s eyes and decision-making abilities more and more. The weapons are there, and the Offense has been capitalizing. Next is a short week, as the Eagles go down the coast and take on the Carolina Panthers. The Panthers are always a tough team, and depending on the Cam Newton that arrives to the game, this will not be an easy game on either side of the ball. On a short week, away game, and against another 4-1 team, this could be harder than most fans want. If it is a loss, we want the Eagles to challenge all game and lose to a better team. But a win would be huge, and would make a lot of believers. Well so many Eagles fans showed up at the game, that it was pretty much like an Eagles home game. Eagles fans booed the Chargers when they were announced, cheered “Dallas sucks!” at random times, and drowned out the “Let’s Go Chargers!” chants with “Let’s Go Eagles!”. Our Defense even raised the Birds fans cheers on third downs, and Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz took it upon himself to quiet the crowd when he was working under center. Amazing, and absolutely great. Our cohost Todd (@tradonks) was at the game, and kept sending photos of Eagles fans, well, everywhere. The TV announcers were even talking about it. The greatest fanbase in any sport, hands down. Besides that awesomeness, the Eagles beat the Chargers 26-24 to go 3-1 on the season, and now sit atop the NFC East. The Eagles have won two out of their three road games, and both of the games against division rivals. The Defense forced another turnover, the Offense running game put up over 200 yards, thanks to LaGarrette Blount going beast mode this week, and star rookie kicker Jake Elliott booting four more field goals, all of them over 40 yards, with the long of 53. Overall it was a solid game, and a good win on the season. Next the Eagles are home in Lincoln Financial Field hosting the Arizona Cardinals with QB Carson Palmer who can always be dangerous. We are back after a record-setting  amazing win over the New York Giants! We all know the story at this point, with the game tied with only one second left in the game, the Eagles rookie kicker, Jake Elliott was asked to do the near-impossible: kick a field goal of 61 yards. This was a feat that was never accomplished by any Philadelphia Eagles kicker, let alone Eagles rookie kicker! The kick was away… and the kick was gooooooooooood!!! Eagles fans the world over celebrated together as the Eagles win another division game, move to two wins and one loss on the season, send the Giants to 0-3, and witness history. It was an amazing moment in our fandom. Overall the game was not great, after the Eagles led 14-0 going into the fourth quarter and feeling good. The Giants had other plans, thanks in part to Odell Beckham Jr. making two amazing end zone catches, the second the result of a drive by the Giants after an Eagles turnover. Just like that it was tied at 14. An Eagles punt and subsequent Giants drive for a touchdown put the Giants ahead 21-14. How did this happen so fast? But the Eagles answered with a TD of their own to tie it at 21. A Giants field goal, then Eagles field goal then led to the drama of a tie game with less than a minute left. Eagles stopped the Giants drive, which led to a poor punt by the Giants, giving the ball to the Eagles with only 13 seconds left in the game. Carson Wentz then tried to get the Eagles’ kicker close, but ONLY set him up for the 61 yard attempt. Everyone expected overtime. But not on this day. The rookie Elliott made that kick look almost easy, and was carried off by his teammates to the locker room. A ridiculous fourth quarter, and a big win for the Eagles. The Philadelphia Eagles end the season on that high note, beating the Dallas Cowboys 27-13. Some claimed that the game didn’t mean anything because the Eagles are not in the playoffs. But the Eagles beat another NFC East division rival, the second in as many weeks. They won another home game, the sixth on the season. Their rookie quarterback Carson Wentz gained more experience. They end the season with two wins to go into the offseason. And oh yeah, they beat the Cowboys. All in all, it was a fun way to end the season, and had much to build on in the off season. The Eagles end the 2016-2017 season with a record of 7-9 after starting 3-0, but our rookie QB more than impressed, and will be a great leader for many years to come. He is a player a team can be built around. That’s huge. This team appears to be only a few pieces shy of making the playoffs. And maybe not too long after that, the big game. The New York Giants drive on down the New Jersey Turnpike and enter The Linc expecting to clinch a playoff spot, but it isn’t to be had, as the Eagles defeated them 24-19 in front of a raucous Philadelphia crowd on Thursday night. On the playoff spot, the Giants defeat did allow the Dallas Cowboys to clinch the NFC East, but the Eagles were not going to allow Eli Manning and the rest of the Giants enter the playoffs through Philly. The Eagles Defense stepped up in a big way, intercepting Manning three times in the game, with one as a pick-six, and the other in the final 14 seconds of the game with the Giants offense driving and in the red zone. The Eagles Offense was able to just enough, only putting up two touchdowns (one through the air, and one on the ground), and less than 300 yards total offense. This was Lane Johnson’s first game back from his PED 10-game suspension, and his influence helped sustain yards and protect quarterback Carson Wentz. Despite how the game was won overall, it was one of those great wins on the season, a huge holiday present for Eagles fans everywhere, the end of the 5-game losing streak, the first win against a division opponent on the season, and a confidence boost moving forward as the Eagles start planning for the off season with only one game left this season, closing it out on New Years Day at home against the Dallas Cowboys. The Eagles travel from Philadelphia down to Baltimore to take on the Ravens in one of the last games of the year. A game that didn’t make much of a difference in the season, as the Eagles were just about eliminated from a playoff spot (but not entirely). The climax of the game easily was the end of the game where quarterback Carson Wentz drove the offense down the field, behind in the score, and scored a touchdown with only 40 seconds left on the clock. This brought the Eagles within one point, down 27-26. In a controversial call, coach Doug Pederson decided to go for the win on a 2-point conversion. The Wentz pass was batted down at the line of scrimmage, falling short of the intended receiver, and the Ravens players celebrated the win. There has been much conversation among fans and analysts as to whether the Birds kicked the extra point for the tie, or gone for the win with the conversion. We talked about both sides of the decision, which ultimately gave the Eagles their ninth loss of the season, and their fifth in a row. Next the Eagles host the New York Giants on Thursday, and could play the spoiler to the Giants playoff hopes. We also get to see Lane Johnson come back from his ten game suspension. We also congratulate both Fletcher Cox and Jason Peters for being voted into the Pro Bowl. With only two games left on the season, we have seen good things to look forward to. Overall it was not a bad or ugly loss for the Eagles, but it marked a point in yet another Divisional loss that pretty much seals this team’s season as a big loss. We discuss many aspects of where the team is at this point, and a little of our disappointments in the team’s place in the season. They are rebuilding, that is the case, and we’ve known that for a while now. And the opinions are definitely split on the team as a whole; whether they are just bad all around with a good quarterback, or whether there is a base with several gaps to fill. The Philadelphia Eagles execute their worst game of the season at the most inopportune time this week, losing to the Cincinnati Bengals 32-14. Eagles fans are angry and extremely disappointed with this loss, for very good reasons. Quarterback Carson Wentz played poorly, the Defense was horrible, the running game was practically non-existent, players were repeatedly undisciplined, play-calling was more than suspect, and even special teams had a few flubs. That’s led to many questions about what happened to the Eagles as the season has gone on, and rightfully so… how can a team that has performed well just start to crumble? Sure some of it falls on the coaches, but some of it also comes from talent. We all know the Eagles as a whole are better than they were last year. We also talked about how the 2016 season was going to be a rebuilding year, THEN the rookie quarterback is made the starter, so we did not expect much at all in the season. But then the rookie is good. They beat some teams we thought were much better, and hope blossomed. But the hopes are dashed when reality comes knocking again, and people call for the coach to be fired, there’s talk about all of Wentz’s problems with his passing delivery, and the Defense is just poor. We talk about all of these things on the show, and then of course the Redskins drive on up to Philly this week for an NFC East game that no longer means a damn thing to Eagles fans, other than some pride. The home crowd at Lincoln Financial Field got our first loss of the season to the Green Bay Packers 27-13. It was the worst loss of the season as well, at 14 points. What that means is to date, the Eagles have hung with every team they lost to, and most of those losses were by less than a touchdown. Feel down about this loss, feel bad that the season is all but over, but Eagles fans, do not feel bad about how this season has set a standard for the organization moving forward. There is a lot of hope, even though we want that success now, not next year, or the year after that. We want that success now. But first the Eagles have to lose to the Packers, who played a better game against an Eagles team with several starters injured, and a struggling Offense with a rookie quarterback. December has hit, meaning not only colder temps, but it means we are quickly approaching the end of the season. This means we get to watch our future quarterback Carson Wentz continue to develop week after week. Let him learn by making mistakes, getting hit, or making poor decisions. There is a lot to like in this kid, and we are riding this Wentzwagon to playoffs in the not so distant future. The Birds fly over to Cincinnati to take on the Bengals this week. The Bengals are also struggling, and this is a game the Eagles, on paper, should win. Looking forward to getting that taste back when we take on the NFC East teams the rest of the season. The Seattle Seahawks host the Philadelphia Eagles on a rainy Sunday evening, and it does not turn out well for our boys in midnight green and silver. The Birds drop the game 26-15. We use the term “drop” because that is what the main highlight of the Eagles game and season has been… DROPS! The main scapegoat of the Seahawks loss this week was Nelson Agholor, who dropped a few passes, and also committed a bad penalty that negated a huge reception for a touchdown by Zach Ertz. That score would have given the Eagles a 1-point lead, but instead, they had to punt, and was the catalyst in the eventual demise by the Eagles. Very frustrating all around, when you are playing one of the best teams in the league, in their home. The Eagles hung with them from a distance, and there was a feeling for most of the game that there was still a shot, but Seattle did what they needed to do to keep the Eagles down. In the process, both Darren Sproles, Ryan Mathews, Connor Barwin, and Leodis McKelvin were injured, and Vaitai (Lane Johnson’s backup) is likely out several weeks. Scary times for the Eagles. This coming week the Eagles are back home at Lincoln Financial Field, and host the Green Bay Packers and an always-dangerous Aaron Rodgers. A lot of this game will be who on the Eagles are healthy enough to play, in addition to what Offensive scheme Doug Pederson can come up with to pump up a deflated Eagle Offense. To all of our listeners celebrating the holiday, have a very Happy Thanksgiving. We are extremely thankful for all of you that have been listening, writing, and calling in over these past nine years. The Philadelphia Eagles win in an exciting home game against the Atlanta Falcons, 24-15. This is the fourth home win this season, where the Birds are undefeated. This week the Eagles fans were crazy loud, and unbelievably quiet when the Eagles Offense was on the field. Such an amazing and smart fan base. Love it. The Eagles run game was on fire this week, and Ryan Mathews was the star of that game, with 109 yards on the ground with two touchdowns. Overall the Eagles runners were all in play as it helped the Eagles struggling receivers, and Carson Wentz, in a huge way. It was an excellent game plan, and executed in a great way against a very good Falcons Defense. Speaking of Defense, the Eagles D did an excellent job keeping a Falcons Offense with plenty of weapons for QB Matt Ryan both off the field and out of the end zone, allowing just the one Falcons TD. This was yet another positive thing for our rookie QB, as he was able to help overcome a fourth quarter deficit and come back and win the game. Exciting and fun game all around, and just another positive that makes us look forward to the future of this team. This coming week the Eagles travel to Seattle to take on one of the best teams in the league in a very hostile road game. On paper, the Eagles seem to have little shot in this one, but we have seen some very exciting, and surprising things from this team this season. Any given Sunday is the saying, right? Another road game, another NFC East rival, and another loss for the Eagles. This has become a real issue, and this loss to the New York Giants takes the Eagles to 4-4 on the season, and a dismal 0-3 in the Division. The main thing people have had an issue with in this loss is coach Doug Pederson’s two attempts at going for it on fourth down, when the Eagles were within field goal range for both. They failed on both attempts, and thus leaving six points on the field. Ultimately the Birds lost by five, so we see how those fourth downs affected us. The other side of that coin was that coach Pederson’s approach to the Offense was much more aggressive, and something Eagles fans have been wanting. We saw Carson Wentz going further down field with attempts, sometimes with great results, and other times with inaccurate passes (including two very early interceptions which allowed two quick scores by the Giants), or our receivers dropping passes. The latter has been an issue all season, and we are not seeing improvements at the halfway point. This week the Eagles are home, and the Atlanta Falcons are on the docket. On paper, this appears to be a close game, with a valid chance the Eagles could come out on top. Either way, our rookie quarterback, and rookie coach, continue to develop, with the expectations of improvement. — Help support our show - Support us through Patreon No-Wet USA, Eco-friendly Car Care:  NoWetUSA.com – Enter the coupon code EFC at checkout and get a 10% discount! — Get in touch now, and often: Voicemail Line: 1 (856) 335-3675 Twitter: @EaglesFanCast, Todd – @tradonks and Chuck – @chuckst Facebook: facebook.com/EaglesFanCast Google+: EaglesFanCast Email: fans [at] EaglesFanCast.net Support EFC – get our iPhone App, Android App or Windows App

The Philadelphia Eagles traveled down to Dallas to fight the Cowboys for first place in the NFC East. After some questionable play calling and dropped passes, the Eagles give up a ten point lead in the fourth quarter and end regulation in a tie. Unfortunately for the Eagles, overtime was all Cowboys, as they drove down the field and scored a touchdown to win the game, 29-23. It was most likely a very long trip home for the Eagles, but these are some of the mistakes we expected to make this season before it started, plus on paper the Cowboys were the superior team… and we still almost won the game. Overall another division loss hurts, but the Eagles fought hard, and if it wasn’t for some crucial dropped passes and another turnover on a fumble (this time by Wendell Smallwood), the outcome would have been different. We also discuss receiver / special teams player Josh Huff, who was arrested on Tuesday and charged with several things, including speeding, possession of marijuana, and unlawful possession of a handgun, and DUI. He was arrested on the New Jersey side of a bridge to Pennsylvania, and NJ is rather tough with gun carry laws. This week the Eagles have another road game against an NFC East Division rival, the New York Giants, so there is no rest for this troubled team at this point in the season. After a very tough loss to the Redskins the week before, the undefeated Minnesota Vikings and former Eagles quarterback Sam Bradford come to Philadelphia. This game started slow and ugly at times, but ultimately, the Eagles Defense were all over Bradford all day, sacking him six times, causing two fumbles, and an interception. Bradford was hit many times in this game, and it really got into his head early, and often. The Eagles Defense was the star of the game, for sure, although there was a kickoff return for 98 yards for a TD from Josh Huff, and that also kind of shined. Eagles QB Carson Wentz struggled in this game, throwing for two interceptions on the day, but continued to mature in our eyes, having the continued confidence in some tough situations on the day, despite some fumbled snaps and miscues. He’s a rookie learning the NFL, one week at a time. The Eagles are also in the rumor mill this week with trade rumors involving Torrey Smith, as well as Alshon Jeffery. As of the time of this recording, it’s still rumors. But let us not forget, it is Cowboy Week in Philly. The Eagles will meet the Dallas Cowboys for the first time this season, down in Texas. This one hurts more. The Eagles lose their second game, this one to NFC East rival Washington Redskins. The arguments before the season started that positional depth might be a factor as the season progresses and injuries become a factor seems to have been proven true. At least in the right tackle position vacated by the now-suspended Lane Johnson. Johnson’s replacement, rookie tackle Halapoulivaati Vaitai (ok, let’s just go with Big V) struggled in his first start, and the Redskins took advantage of him, putting way more pressure on Carson Wentz than he was used to. Eagles also used three tight ends to help Big V at times, which resulted in a more limited offensive threat. The Birds were kept out of the end zone on offense, and the Eagles Defense allowed three scores by Skins QB Kirk Cousins. The Eagles did get two touchdowns in exciting style, the first on a kickoff return for a TD by Wendell Smallwood, then on the following Redskins series Malcolm Jenkins intercepted Cousins and ran it back 64 yards for another TD. Although those two scores tied the game back up at 14 apiece, ironically it also allowed the tired Eagles Defense to be on the field for almost the entire second quarter. Both sides of this team were not clicking Sunday, and now the Eagles are 3-2 on the season, with the unbeaten Minnesota Vikings coming into Lincoln Financial Field this week… beyond that, the schedule does not get any easier. With all of that listed, we are not especially bummed about this loss. Disappointed, yes, but the loss does not taste that bad. The Eagles went in the hole quickly in the first quarter by two touchdowns, but adjusted, dug in, and came back and eventually took the lead in the fourth quarter. This was a huge test for both the rookie quarterback, and rookie head coach Doug Pederson, as they showed they could lead the Birds back. This is a positive thing moving forward as the Eagles have their first divisional game against the Washington Redskins this next week on the road, and then the games get much more challenging moving forward from there. This game was one they could have won. They didn’t. But it was yet another learning experience in a long road that us Eagles fans hope will lead us back to the playoffs again, if not this year, then next. Eagles right tackle Lane Johnson’s 10-game suspension was upheld today, for PED use. It is not surprising, but it is a big loss, and will make the Eagles protection of both Wentz and the running game that much more tough in the weeks ahead. — No-Wet USA, Eco-friendly Car Care:  NoWetUSA.com – Enter the coupon code EFC at checkout and get a 10% discount! — Call the Wentzylvania Suburbs: Voicemail Line: 1 (856) 335-3675 Twitter: @EaglesFanCast, Todd – @tradonks and Chuck – @chuckst Facebook: facebook.com/EaglesFanCast Google+: EaglesFanCast Email: fans [at] EaglesFanCast.net Support EFC – get our iPhone App, Android App or Windows App

The battle of Pennsylvania occurred Sunday at Lincoln Financial Field, and the ultimate outcome was Wentzylvania! The Pittsburgh Steelers had a very long ride home on the Wentzylvania Turnpike after being crushed by the Philadelphia Eagles 34-3. The Steelers came into Philly riding high in week three, considered by many to be one of the best teams in the NFL. The Eagles, on the other hand, had solid plans of their own under the remarkable coaching of Doug Pederson, who orchestrated and Offensive scheme that allowed rookie quarterback Carson Wentz to completely command how to attack the Steelers defense, and keep them completely guessing as to what was going to happen next. It was an amazing day, and solidifies this Eagles team as a contender in not only the NFC East, but now the NFC Conference as well. On the defensive side of the ball, the Eagles only allowed the Steelers a field goal on the day. Think about that for a second. The mighty Ben Roethlisberger was denied a touchdown. Their backs, lacking injured Le’Veon Bell, were also blanked. Eagles Defensive Coordinator Jim Schwartz had a plan for everything in this game, and the Eagles players executed amazingly. Next the Eagles rest with a BYE week, and we will surely miss seeing them on the field at this point. The Eagles go to Chi-town, the windy city, Chicago for the national stage of Monday Night Football, to take on Jay Cutler and the Bears. It is the first big audience for Carson Wentz for his NFL rookie season. Wentz handled the Offense again like a veteran player, and not like a rookie at all. He was very exciting to see, again, with the confidence to find receivers, scramble when needed, and take the shot down the field. Philadelphia won 29-14, on the road, on Monday Night. Impressive even though Chicago is not one of the superpowers in the NFL at this point. The Eagles offensive line protected Wentz, and there was decent blocking for the run game as well. A few in-the-hands drops by receivers (I’m looking at you, Agholor) were really frustrating to see, but overall the scheme on Offense was a very good one, and kept the Bears Defense on their heels, with Wentz passing to seven different players. On Defense, they were very strong, holding the Bears to only 64 rushing yards, but 220 passing yards, along with a couple of sacks, an interception, and two fumbles recovered. This week is the real test, with the Pittsburgh Steelers coming into Lincoln Financial Field Sunday afternoon. Pittsburgh is considered one of the best teams in the league after two weeks in. We will see how Wentz handles a true Defense, and how our Defense handles Ben Roethlisberger and all of his weapons. The future for the Eagles looks bright, my friends. The new Philadelphia Eagles make their debut hosting the Cleveland Browns, with new head coach Doug Pederson, new coaching staff, several new players on all sides of the ball, and our new rookie quarterback, Carson Wentz. This is what many fans wanted to see, and none of us were disappointed. In interviews through the preseason, and analysts’ evaluations, it has been nothing but positive outlooks for Wentz developing into a quality quarterback. His debut was fantastic. Stats aside, he ran the Eagles Offense like a veteran would. He was confident, aware of his surroundings, and never seemed to panic. Yes, this was against the Cleveland Browns, one of the worst Defenses (and teams) that the Eagles will meet this season, and we have no delusions that the Eagles are a playoff team. This game was about our new coach, and new quarterback. This game was about getting Wentz out there in a stressed, real situation behind his Offensive Line. This was about new Defensive Coordinator Jim Schwartz and his revamped Defense. And this was about Doug Pederson, and how he was able to bring together his staff and team and start a new season with hope for the future. — No-Wet USA, Eco-friendly Car Care:  NoWetUSA.com – Enter the coupon code EFC at checkout and get a 10% discount! — The place for the Wentz Wagon: Voicemail Line: 1 (856) 335-3675 Twitter: @EaglesFanCast, Todd – @tradonks and Chuck – @chuckst Facebook: facebook.com/EaglesFanCast Google+: EaglesFanCast Email: fans [at] EaglesFanCast.net Support EFC – get our iPhone App, Android App or Windows App

This week Todd and I are joined by our original co-host Eric Grigg, and our long-time friend Steve Brown (aka UK Eagles Fan) as we break down the latest Sam Bradford trade, Carson Wentz being named the new starting quarterback, how we see Doug Pederson moving forward, Howie Roseman’s brilliant preseason personnel maneuvers, and play around with how the season schedule looks. We are truly excited to see how this new team and coaching system will work out. It is yet again another exciting time to be an Eagles fan, albeit this time with no expectations of the team making the playoffs. What we are seeing is all part of a rebuilding process, and it will take patience on our part as fans. It is not something we have a lot of, granted, but we are happy to see the organization making commitments that will bring the team back to playoff caliber in the coming years. The NFL Draft is approaching fast. In fact, it’s next week, starting Thursday, April 28th. We have once again secured the illustrious Tommy Lawlor (@lawlornfl) to talk Eagles Draft! This is the time of year that we all feel the new Philadelphia Eagles season begins.  The 2016 NFL schedule was announced last week, but this is the point where the new blood of players get picked to play for our team.  The young guys, the potential superstars, and the cogs in the machine that can ultimately bring our Eagles to a Super Bowl.  It’s the time of year we, and every NFL team fan, has hope, and excitement, and this is when it starts. Tommy feels the Eagles will take quarterback Carson Wentz in the 8th pick of the first round. That is, of course, if Wentz is still there at eight.  CB Vernon Hargreaves is who the Eagles could take if he’s gone.  We talk about many of the prospects, including Jared Goff, Myles Jack, Vernon Hargreaves, Ezekiel Elliott, Jalen Ramsey, Javon Hargrave, Adam Gotsis, and Kevin Byard.  We also go into what the Eagles have already done in this offseason, where the needs still exist, and the biggest unknown, our new head coach, Doug Pederson. Next week is going to be a lot of fun, and we cannot wait for it to get here.  A new Eagles team is upon us.   We are now listed in Google Play Music! — No-Wet USA, Eco-friendly Car Care:  NoWetUSA.com – Enter the coupon code EFC at checkout and get a 10% discount! — Tommy Lawlor Links: Iggles Blitz Philadelphia Eagles Fan-Demonium Scouts Notebook Start the new season with us: Voicemail Line: 1 (856) 335-3675 Twitter: @EaglesFanCast, Todd – @tradonks and Chuck – @chuckst Facebook: facebook.com/EaglesFanCast Google+: EaglesFanCast Email: fans [at] EaglesFanCast.net Support EFC – get our iPhone App, Android App or Windows App

Well the Philadelphia Eagles season was ended in embarrassing fashion with the Washington Redskins crushing the Birds in Philly, racking up yet another loss at home. But what overshadows this loss, and the loss of the season, is that the Eagles organization, namely Jeffrey Lurie, fired head coach Chip Kelly today unexpectedly.  We, along with Eagles guru Tommy Lawlor, discuss the why’s, how Kelly lost the will of some players, and the rest of the circumstances surrounding this untimely development. Fans so far on social media seem to be overwhelmingly for this move by the team, with not much sympathy for Chip.  We of course start the speculation, with Todd thinking Jon Gruden returns to Philadelphia, and Tommy is interested in the Saints’ Sean Peyton.  Many names are eventually mentioned, and you can catch them all on the audio!  Chuck’s pick is Tommy, so let’s #HireTommy. Oh yeah, there is one final game in the 2015 NFL season.  The Eagles play the New York Giants in a meaningless game.  The temporary head coach for that game is Pat Shurmur. The New England Patriots, only one loss on the 2015 season.  The Philadelphia Eagles, seven losses on the season, three of which in just the last three weeks.  The Patriots lost last week, and haven’t lost two straight games in forever.  The game’s stage is at Gillette Stadium.  No one expected the Eagles to win this game.  No analysts, the game’s announcers, and even most Eagles fans. How could we?  After the display the Eagles performed the last three weeks especially, and with Sam Bradford coming off an injury.  The Eagles Defense, allowing 110 points in the last three losses going against a Tom Brady who has something to prove this season and has been remarkable for most of it. But the Eagles dug down deep.  Very deep.  They executed.  They put pressure on Brady.  Our Offense ran it down the Pats’ throats, but with different guys.  Chip Kelly adjusted for this game, and had a plan.  It took Defense and a ridiculous Special Teams to beat the Patriots this week, and thanks to losses by the Giants and Redskins… into a 3-way tie for the sad NFC East.  Come on, with a 100-yard pick-6, a punt return for a touchdown, AND a blocked punt for a touchdown… ALL IN THE SAME GAME!  It was an amazing game to watch, and gave Eagles fans something huge to cheer for.  This season is not over yet, and there is plenty of football to play, and yes, cheer for. — No-Wet USA, Eco-friendly Car Care:  NoWetUSA.com – Enter the coupon code EFC at checkout and get a 10% discount! — Continue the Conversations: Voicemail Line: 1 (856) 335-3675 Twitter: @EaglesFanCast, Todd – @tradonks and Chuck – @chuckst Facebook: facebook.com/EaglesFanCast Google+: EaglesFanCast Email: fans [at] EaglesFanCast.net Support EFC – get our iPhone App, Android App or Windows App

So the Philadelphia Eagles have lost three straight games, are now 4-7 on the season, and yet, somehow, are only a single game out of first in the NFC East.  Don’t count them out just yet!!  Yes, I’m laughing while I typed this. Things have gone from bad to worse for this Birds organization, and with the Defense giving up five passing touchdowns in each of the last two games to the Lions  (with quarterback Matt Stafford) and Buccaneers (QB Jameis Winston) has taken away much of the hope for a recovery on this season.  Backup quarterback Mark Sanchez has not done well at all, and even shut the voices of the Sam Bradford haters.  Right now it’s all doom and gloom for Eagles fans, as we cannot believe what we are seeing.  The rumors of Chip Kelly entertaining the idea of going back to college have started huge again, even prompting the Eagles head coach and General Manager to publicly address it… something he really shouldn’t have to. The irony in all of this is that the Eagles are not out of the playoff picture, even with this record, and starting December!  The NFC East, the worst division in the NFL, has a tie for first between the Giants and Redskins, with a record of 5-6.  The Cowboys are pretty much officially done now that Romo is out for the rest of the season, the Giants can’t get a consistent act going, and the Redskins are still headed by Dan Snyder… enough said. It doesn’t get easier now, as the Eagles face the Patriots on Sunday in New England.  Winter is coming.  The Eagles better bundle up.

Our Philadelphia Eagles go into AT&T Stadium down in Dallas for a Sunday Night football game against the Cowboys.  The first half is not that fun to watch with neither team able to settle and play good football, and the first half ends in a 7-7 tie.  The second half turns into a battle, with each team scoring 20 points, eventually pushing into overtime.  The Birds get the ball to start OT and drive down the field.  Sam Bradford connected with Jordan Matthews for a 41 yard reception for a touchdown and the win! Many things looked better for our Offense this week, with Sam Bradford looking more confident, less dropped passes, good yards after the catch, and much improvement in the running game.  First downs helped keep the Cowboys Defense on the field, and eventually tiring them down. They are building into the Eagles Offense we expected, and will need the rest of the season to dig out of the hole they are in. This week the Eagles come home and the Dolphins step into the Linc Sunday.  Miami is also struggling, and other than the Patriots, they are also fighting for something in their Division. With the Giants winning over the Cowboys the Giants move into first place, and the Eagles have to sit with this loss for the next two weeks, as this coming week is a much-needed BYE.  Quarterback Sam Bradford had a better day and looked more confident, but this week’s Offensive woes came with the dropped passes, seven of them.  It was a horribly-played game for our receivers, and that seemed to be the main reason this game was lost. The Eagles Defense grabbed three interceptions from Panthers quarterback Cam Newton, and had pressure for most of the day. But the Eagles Offense just struggled, made mistakes, could not get separation, and dropped passes. Running back Ryan Matthews was one of the standouts on the day, rushing for 97 yards, 63 of which was a long touchdown run.  DeMarco Murray added on another 65 yards in the game. Chip Kelly, Eagles receivers, DeMarco Murray, and Sam Bradford are still under fire for under-performing.  Well they have two weeks to think about things as this coming week is the BYE, then we have the Dallas Cowboys.  Tommy Lawlor joins us to chat about where the season is, where the personnel are, and what we can expect, or hope to expect. — Links: Iggles Blitz Philadelphia Eagles Fan-Demonium Tommy Lawlor (@lawlornfl) on Twitter — No-Wet USA, Eco-friendly Car Care:  NoWetUSA.com – Enter the coupon code EFC at checkout and get a 10% discount! — On the road to victory: Voicemail Line: 1 (856) 335-3675 Twitter: @EaglesFanCast, Todd – @tradonks and Chuck – @chuckst Facebook: facebook.com/EaglesFanCast Google+: EaglesFanCast Email: fans [at] EaglesFanCast.net Support EFC – get our iPhone App, Android App or Windows App

The biggest game of the 2015 Eagles season was in Philadelphia on Monday Night Football against the New York Giants, a battle for first place in the NFC East Division.  A loss could have meant the basic end to the season, but a win puts the Birds in a tie for first.  Your Philadelphia Eagles beat the Giants 27-7 after initially being down 7-0 in the first quarter. The Eagles Defense was unbelievable in their dominance of the Giants after giving up an 80-yard drive and touchdown.  The Giants second drive was looking the same until DeMeco Ryans intercepted the ball.  The Eagles Offense put together a drive and tied it up.  From that point forward, the Eagles either kept the Giants Offense in check, or completely dominated them. Overall it was an ugly game, with the Eagles turning the ball over four times, and the Eagles Defense getting three turnovers from the Giants (with a pick-six in there from Nolan Carroll), and there were countless penalties on both sides.  Three of the Eagles turnovers came from Sam Bradford interceptions.  His inconsistent play (also having 280 yards passing and a touchdown) has been a reason for anxiety among many fans, some of which are calling for his benching. But is Mark Sanchez the answer?  Highly doubtful, and it’s one of the things we talk about in this episode. But right now, the Eagles are leading the division, and go to Carolina to play the undefeated Panthers, which will be yet another huge test of what this team is. — No-Wet USA, Eco-friendly Car Care:  NoWetUSA.com – Enter the coupon code EFC at checkout and get a 10% discount!

So here we go setting the stage.  The Philadelphia Eagles are struggling to start the season, already losing a division game, then get a win.  This week they go to play the Washington Redskins, another NFC East team that is struggling.  The Eagles need to win this game, come together as a team, and set the stage for the rest of the season and prove to themselves who they are. Well that didn’t happen, and we saw more of the same from the team. We saw more mistakes, more dropped passes, more costly penalties and more lack of focus.  It wasn’t all bad, and we saw glimmers of great plays on all sides of the ball.  And that is what gives us just the smallest amount of hope for salvaging this season. This week the New Orleans Saints come to town with Drew Brees possibly set to take apart the Eagles secondary.  They are also coming off of a win this week after their own horrible start to the season.  This is yet another opportunity for the Eagles to start down a different path this season than they started on.  We’re still discouraged, but maybe things can change. Eagles fans are angry, though, and some are calling for Chip Kelly’s termination already.  They are hopeless at this point.  Hopefully those fans are wrong, and Chip can pull this team out of the funk that it is in.  I don’t want the organization to start with yet another coach.  Not now. — No-Wet USA, Eco-friendly Car Care:  NoWetUSA.com – Enter the coupon code EFC at checkout and get a 10% discount! — Free Therapy: Voicemail Line: 1 (856) 335-3675 Twitter: @EaglesFanCast, Todd – @tradonks and Chuck – @chuckst Facebook: facebook.com/EaglesFanCast Google+: EaglesFanCast Email: fans [at] EaglesFanCast.net Support EFC – get our iPhone App, Android App or Windows App

The New York Jets hosted the Philadelphia Eagles in north Jersey, and the Defense did indeed win the game.  But not the Defense that everyone was predicting. Our Eagles Defense grabbed four turnovers and kept the Jets Offense stumbling at times, not able to accomplish much. The Eagles Offense, on the other hand, were more effective and were more of a cohesive unit, despite DeMarco Murray being out with an injury.  Quarterback Sam Bradford looked more confident, but still struggled with accuracy.  But more of a concern was the dropped passes, at least one to two of them could have been converted into touchdowns. Darren Sproles was another bright spot, running back a punt for a touchdown in very exciting fashion.  He’s just so damn good. This week the Eagles take on the NFC East Division rival Washington Redskins, who, by nature, struggle.  This could be a win that gives the Eagles even more confidence moving forward, and allows them to continue to gel.  They need to get it done.
