Spätestens wenn Bundesliga-Trainer Julian Nagelsmann auf einer Pressekonferenz minutenlang über die NFL schwärmt, steht fest: Die Sportart ist auch in Deutschland zum Massenthema geworden. Genau darüber haben wir bereits vor zwei Jahren mit Christian Fichter, CEO der Agentur SWEEP und verantwortlich für die digitalen Aktivitäten der NFL in Deutschland, im Podcast gesprochen. Zwei Jahre später bringt uns Christian im neuen Format „Follow-up“ auf den aktuellsten Stand und erzählt uns, welche Pläne und Projekte seither umgesetzt wurden. Die aktuellen TV-Zahlen belegen, dass die NFL auf dem besten Wege zur Nummer zwei Sportart in Deutschland ist. Während bei der Sportschau am Sonntag Abend 1,07 Mio. Zuschauer*innen eingeschaltet haben, waren es Stunden später bei den Divisional Playoffs der NFL auf ProSieben beachtliche 0,82 Mio. Zuschauer*innen in der werberelevanten Zielgruppe. NFL-Hype auf den digitalen Plattformen Christian erzählt uns, dass die NFL auch auf den digitalen Kanälen immer mehr Fans begeistert. In den vergangenen zwei Jahren stiegen die Follower*innen auf Instagram und Twitter um rund 60 %, zudem wächst auch die Anzahl der Nutzer*innen in den NFL-eigenen Kanälen wie z.B. im Email-Marketing stetig an. Aus welchen guten Gründen TikTok in 2021 ebenfalls bespielt werden soll und wieso die NFL aktuell noch keinen eigenen Podcast und keinen eigenen Clubhouse-Account hat, erfahren wir im Gespräch. Wild, wilder, Wild Card. Der Start in die NFL-Playoffs war spektakulär. Allen voran die Cleveland Browns überraschten alle. Die Browns gewannen bei den Pittsburgh Steelers 48:37 und feierten so ihren ersten Playoff-Sieg seit 26 Jahren! Logisch, dass Remo, Kucze und Daniel von „Sportfive” mit diesem irren Duell starten, wenn sie aufs vergangene Wochenende zurückblicken. Danach bleiben sie zunächst in der AFC und analysieren die Erfolge der Buffalo Bills (gegen die Indianapolis Colts) und der Baltimore Ravens (bei den Tennessee Titans). Natürlich werfen sie jeweils auch ein erstes Auge auf die nun anstehenden Divisional Playoffs in dieser Conference. Danach geht’s rüber in die NFC. Hier steht am kommenden Wochenende nun der Playoff-Showdown zweier Quarterback-Legenden an. Nachdem die Tampa Bay Buccaneers (in Washington) und die New Orleans Saints (gegen die Chicago Bears) ihre Pflichtaufgaben in der Wild Card erfüllten, treffen sie Sonntagnacht direkt aufeinander. Selbstverständlich sind auch die Los Angeles Rams ein Thema, die bei den Seattle Seahawks die Oberhand behielten und nun zu den Green Bay Packers reisen.
