SummaryOn this episode of The Most Accurate Podcast, Greg Smith is all alone to recap Week 7 and work the waiver wire for Week 8. He kicks off the show discussing the impact of injuries and byes on the transactions leading up to Week 7, then he wonders if home field advantage in the NFL is largely dead. Booms of the week and busts of the week are next, with a lot of time spent on surprising performances from the Lions, Cardinals, and Saints. From there, Greg dives into key injuries from Week 7 (19:29). Can the Chiefs' offense maintain high-level fantasy production with Matt Moore under center? How about the Falcons with Matt Schaub at quarterback? Injuries from other positions are also discussed, and those lead right into Greg's assessment of the Week 8 waiver wire (24:27). Which handcuff running backs are most likely to break out next ala Chase Edmonds in Week 7? Do fantasy owners need to give serious consideration to Mark Walton and Brandon Bolden? Is Anthony Miller finally coming around? What's it going to take for DeVante Parker and Preston Williams to crack 25% ownership? Is there any hope left for O.J. Howard? And if not, which other tight ends might offer non-zero production off waivers? Greg tackles all these questions and more, so tune and help make sure he wasn't just talking to himself that whole time. The show is brought to you by FantasyDraft. For example, should Jalen Mills be one of the 3 starting CBs for the defense? Is Corey Clement really a lock to make the team over guys like Wendell Smallwood and Josh Adams? Will Dallas Goedert eventually be better than Zach Ertz? Any unpopular opinions that we can think of or any that the viewers may have will be talked about will be up for debate. For our second topic, we’ll shift gears and talk about some of the biggest NBA storylines going on right now, including the blockbuster trade involving Anthony Davis’ move to the Los Angeles Lakers. Week 15 of the Philadelphia Eagles 2018 regular season is now in the books! The Eagles went out to Los Angeles and beat the Rams for the second time in two consecutive seasons, this time by a score of 30-23. What was supposed to be an easy victory for the Rams ended up being their trap game, keeping the Eagles in the playoff hunt amazingly enough. This Eagles team is now 7-7 on the season, and we are thoroughly shocked!Jeff and Erik broke down this game where we saw a very well balanced offense come to fruition for Nick Foles. 24 completed passes in this game and 24 total ushing attempts. Standouts on offense were Alshon Jeffery who caught all 8 balls thrown his way for 160 yards and Wendell Smallwood who averaged 4 yards per carry and scored two touchdowns. The defensive line standouts were Fletcher Cox, Michael Bennett and Brandon Graham, while Avonte Maddox, the rookie, played well in his return game after healing up from his injury. Special teams also played a large role in this game with a 51-yard field goal, a punt return fumble recovery and great punting, overall, from Cam Johnston. As always, we gave our breakdown, analysis and takeaways from the game. Plus we also got into the team stats, box score and graded the positions and coaches.

NFL Week 13: The selfish, the righteous, and the tyranny of Baker Mayfield

There’s a passage the Fantasy Football Party-goers have memorized. Ezekiel Elliott 25:17. “The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of the darkness, for he is truly his brother’s keeper and the finder of lost children.”   So we’re thinking: maybe James Connor is the evil man. And Baker Mayfield is the righteous man. And Mr. Jonnu Smith here… he’s the shepherd protecting our righteous asses in the valley of darkness.   Or it could mean Frank Gore is the righteous man and Anthony Miller is the shepherd and it’s Ricky Seals-Jones that’s evil and selfish. And we’d like that.   But that ain’t the truth. The truth is Wendell Smallwood is weak. And Nick Chubb is the tyranny of evil men. But he’s tryin’, Ringo. He’s tryin’ real hard to be the shepherd.   Flip open the suitcase and stare in slack-jawed awe as Bo unleashes his Samuel Jacksons stack on the 50/50. Dig into the bag and pull out a wallet that says “Bad Maggio” on it, then spend the extra DFS cash on Nyheim Hines.   You know, 2V’s getting kinda tired. Maybe from giving Alex Collins and Tre’Quan Smith foot massages.   If our answers frighten you then you should cease asking scary questions.   Yes, it was all there in an out-of-sequence fashion set to great 70s music: the immediate regrets, the game-by-game fantasy-relevant news, the dumpster-diving for budget DFS/season-long roster filler to salvage your season and set you on the path to the playoffs.   Plus 2V set a 50/50 lineup that made sewer rat taste like pumpkin pie, Magsh ain’t no country I’ve ever heard of, and…   BANG!   I'm sorry, did I break your concentration? I didn't mean to do that. Please, continue, you were saying something about best intentions. What's the matter? Oh, you were finished! Well, allow me to retort.   Bo’s got personality. Personality goes a long way.   And they will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy our brothers.   We happy?   (Narrator: Yeah, we happy.)   And if you've come this far, maybe you're willing to come a little further. Shhhhh! Can’t you see this is a library? But this is Dexter’s Library, so a little noise is OK, and if you want to enjoy a craft cocktail and spark up a doobie, that’s OK, too. After talking briefly about Jay Ajayi, Drew Brees and Craig Counsell, host Pat Fitzmaurice (@Fitz_FF) welcomes in guest Ken Griggs (Dexters_Library), A beloved bon vivant of the Twitterverse and a gifted writer who pens the outstanding weekly Smoke ’Em, Sit ’Em column for TwoQBs.com. Ken talks about his year in fantasy football so far, his writing background and his ill-fated tryst with Peyton Barber. Ken also discusses his transition from urban bartender to rural chicken farmer, and he shares a couple of good celebrity stories from his bartending days. He and Pat also talk about marijuana and its greater social acceptance these days, and Pat asks Ken to make a “Sophie’s Choice” decision between alcohol and weed. Then it’s time for waiver discussion, with takes on Jameis Winston, Wendell Smallwood, Alfred Blue, Marquez Valdes-Scantling and more. And finally, Ken and Pat discuss which head coach most deserves to be fired. Giovani Bernard's receiving skills make him a strong cash play. Don't overthink Devin Funchess. Deshaun Watson's turnovers are good for fantasy football. Wendell Smallwood was a better play than Corey Clement. Jammin' in Alvin Kamara and Todd Gurley. Will Fuller is an ideal GPP play. C.J. Beathard should feed Matt Breida. Austin Hooper and David Njoku are the best value upside at tight end. Is Michael Thomas the next Antonio Brown? Tyler Boyd's start to the season is more impressive than Calvin Ridley. Fantasy Football Podcast: RotoUnderworld Radio Ep 406: The Podfather Matt Kelley (@Fantasy_Mansion) and Justin Boone (@JustinBoone) believe Chris Godwin is the signature must-draft wide receiver in fantasy football. Better value: Alfred Morris in round 6 or Matt Breida in round 10?
Kyle Juszczyk will catch more passes than most fantasy gamers think.
Nick Foles' dreadful preseason is mildly problematic. Nelson Agholor and Mike Wallace remain underrated.
Where should Peyton Barber have been drafted in seasonal leagues, and is Ronald Jones even draftable?  Who is the No. 3 receiver in Philadelphia?
Phillip Lindsay is a very deep sleeper RB. Wendell Smallwood made the team. Does that matter?
Better bet to be fantasy relevant: Jeremy Hill or Mike Gillislee?
Legarrette Blount will be more than a TD vulture early in the season. James Conner is a free square running back.
Can we call it Boston Scott SZN or is it too soon?
Nathan Peterman deserves the benefit of the doubt in Buffalo?
 LeSean McCoy should be radioactive.
Is Austin Seferian-Jenkins the best week 1 streamer?
Jamison Crowder or Josh Doctson: Who is the wide receiver to own in Washington?
Is Royce Freeman more of a workhorse or a bell cow?
Chris Godwin is better than Mike Evans and looks like a league winner.
Can anything stop Tyler Lockett from becoming a thing?
Derrick Henry is as overrated as Dion Lewis is underrated. Quincy Enunwa has alpha receiver in his range of outcomes. Andy Dalton is a top week 1 streamer quarterback. Trey Burton and Anthony Miller could out-produce Allen Robinson this season. Austin Carr and Tyler Boyd are the most underrated slot receivers in the NFL. Chase Edmonds, John Kelly, and Rod Smith needs to be rostered in most fantasy leagues. Eric Ebron has a path to a top-5 fantasy tight end season. We are right in the middle of the Philadelphia Eagles preseason and with only a couple more preseason games left to play, we'll be finding out soon enough which players make the team, and which players get cut. To get into this Eagles preseason and roster, we brought Benjamin Solak, Deputy Editor and writer at BleedingGreenNation.com and draft analyst at The Draft Network, on the show this week to get into a bunch of storylines Eagles fans are following. It's a great interview, as always, with Ben!But first, on the Brief News and Views segment:1. Phillies Talk: home vs. the road; and can they still make the postseason? (5:45)2. A look at Temple Football this coming season. (22:15)3. Jerry Jones and the National Anthem. (28:30)4. The Sixers schedule for the 2018-2019 season. (34:35)Then we get into our Up or Down segment where we briefly analyze Philly sports figures to determine if their needle is moving up or down. (41:00)What we're throwing down on the Table this week is an amazing and in-depth interview with Benjamin Solak from Bleeding Green Nation. The question we're all asking is; can the Eagles repeat as Super Bowl Champions? While not impossible, it is incredibly improbably for many NFL teams to accomplish this feat – but we get into it with Ben. Also, we get into the running back situation with Wendell Smallwood, Josh Adams, Donnel Pumphrey and who that 4th running back might be coming out of camp. How will the wide receiver injuries to Alshon Jeffery and Nelson Agholor affect the offense? Will linebacker Corey Nelson have a significant role to play this season? The guys also got into Carson Wentz's progression over the past few weeks. Ben then gave us some surprise cuts from the Eagles roster to close us out. Plus much more Eagles talk during the interview! (48:40)

Many top QBs are not on the main DraftKings slate, so Deshaun Watsonis one of several cheap quarterbacks to consider. Is Todd Gurley safe facing the Cowboys on the road as a touchdown underdog? Dalvin Cook is a terrific value as Detroit's underappreciated secondary will limit the Minnesota pass game. Wendell Smallwood should catch passes with Darren Sproles gone. DeAndre Hopkins should cost $1,000 more on DraftKings. Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders are underpriced every week. Larry Fitzgerald is an easy cash play against the 49ers. Pay up for Keenan Allen against the Eagles. Can Cooper Kupp excel in the same slot matchup Fitzgerald just crushed? Pay up for Zach Ertz, or pay down for Cameron Brate or Charles Clay at tight end. The Philadelphia Eagles traveled down to Dallas to fight the Cowboys for first place in the NFC East. After some questionable play calling and dropped passes, the Eagles give up a ten point lead in the fourth quarter and end regulation in a tie. Unfortunately for the Eagles, overtime was all Cowboys, as they drove down the field and scored a touchdown to win the game, 29-23. It was most likely a very long trip home for the Eagles, but these are some of the mistakes we expected to make this season before it started, plus on paper the Cowboys were the superior team… and we still almost won the game. Overall another division loss hurts, but the Eagles fought hard, and if it wasn’t for some crucial dropped passes and another turnover on a fumble (this time by Wendell Smallwood), the outcome would have been different. We also discuss receiver / special teams player Josh Huff, who was arrested on Tuesday and charged with several things, including speeding, possession of marijuana, and unlawful possession of a handgun, and DUI. He was arrested on the New Jersey side of a bridge to Pennsylvania, and NJ is rather tough with gun carry laws. This week the Eagles have another road game against an NFC East Division rival, the New York Giants, so there is no rest for this troubled team at this point in the season. We also had a very special announcement! Steve Brown, a long-time Eagles fan and listener of our show, and friend, has joined us as our permanent third host of the show! This one hurts more. The Eagles lose their second game, this one to NFC East rival Washington Redskins. The arguments before the season started that positional depth might be a factor as the season progresses and injuries become a factor seems to have been proven true. At least in the right tackle position vacated by the now-suspended Lane Johnson. Johnson’s replacement, rookie tackle Halapoulivaati Vaitai (ok, let’s just go with Big V) struggled in his first start, and the Redskins took advantage of him, putting way more pressure on Carson Wentz than he was used to. Eagles also used three tight ends to help Big V at times, which resulted in a more limited offensive threat. The Birds were kept out of the end zone on offense, and the Eagles Defense allowed three scores by Skins QB Kirk Cousins. The Eagles did get two touchdowns in exciting style, the first on a kickoff return for a TD by Wendell Smallwood, then on the following Redskins series Malcolm Jenkins intercepted Cousins and ran it back 64 yards for another TD. Although those two scores tied the game back up at 14 apiece, ironically it also allowed the tired Eagles Defense to be on the field for almost the entire second quarter. Both sides of this team were not clicking Sunday, and now the Eagles are 3-2 on the season, with the unbeaten Minnesota Vikings coming into Lincoln Financial Field this week… beyond that, the schedule does not get any easier. We were excited to once again have Steve Brown on with us to chat and talk about his upcoming trip to Philly for the Vikings game. — No-Wet USA, Eco-friendly Car Care:  NoWetUSA.com – Enter the coupon code EFC at checkout and get a 10% discount! — Here’s the way to our hearts: Voicemail Line: 1 (856) 335-3675 Twitter: @EaglesFanCast, Todd – @tradonks and Chuck – @chuckst Facebook: facebook.com/EaglesFanCast Google+: EaglesFanCast Email: fans [at] EaglesFanCast.net Support EFC – get our iPhone App, Android App or Windows App

The homophobic and anti-gay tweets of a couple prominent professional athletes surfaced this week. The catch? The tweets were from several years ago. So when Eagles draftee Wendell Smallwood had to face sudden questions about tweets from his high school days he deleted his account and dismissed the tweets as thoughts from his youth. Trail Blazers player Al-Farouq Aminu has seemingly gotten away with his tweets of six years ago by simply deleting them without comment.  What is the statute of limitations on anti-gay comments and tweets? The battle over North Carolina continues, as the state's governor seems unwilling to shift to pressure about his anti-LGBT law that has caused concerts to be canceled and many sports figures have spoken out. Oh my goodness, it's our second episode in a row with everybody being in their normal recording locations! It must be some kind of record or something! Or... not. Anyway, it's a good thing when we're all in our natural habitats. And we're pumped to talk about this week's massive game on the road against the West Virginia Mountaineers. First Things First In case you haven't been paying close attention for the past two years, you don't know that your Baylor Bears have a massive, and I mean MASSIVE, rivalry with West Virginia. Back in August, those well-known college football experts and historians at Southern Living Magazine asked their readers to tell them what their favorite college football rivalry was. Was it the Iron Bowl between Alabama and Auburn? Clemson vs. South Carolina? Florida vs. Florida State? Or Baylor vs. West Virginia? We at ODB agreed with Southern Living, and asked you, dear ODB Commentariat, to vote on which game in this rich, storied rivalry was your favorite. Nearly 200 of you responded by choosing from a vast array of two choices, electing the 2013 clash of these rivals as your favorite. We couldn't agree more. News Team, Assemble! Don't you love the News Team? We do, and it's been FAR too long since we trotted it out. Anyway, we're talking about the #StripeMcLane effort for Homecoming against Kansas and our excitement about it, as well as the Blackout against Oklahoma State on November 22. We've talked about it already on the blog, but we can't help ourselves, this is going to be really cool. Tell your friends, tell your neighbors. These are exciting things, people. Once more, because it's worth getting that image out again, here's the #StripeMcLane layout: Next up we're talking about the Student Bus packages for the game against the Oklahoma Sooners in November that students waited in line for over four hours to get these passes, and they sold out in a little over 1 hour 20 minutes. That's pretty impressive. We're talking about what it says that the students snatched up all of those bus passes in that amount of time in the context of building a big time program and football culture at Baylor. If you're a student and you weren't fortunate enough to get a ticket, you can still make the trip with your friends in your own vehicle. The more the merrier! We also segue a little bit into the level of excitement of the fan base as a whole, and we all agree: there's not a more excited fan base in the state of Texas right now (thank you, football team, for beating TCU and enabling us to say that). Previewing West Virginia We're breaking down this matchup in all sorts of interesting ways. Many of you have commented on it, and we concur: the single best way to slow down the West Virginia offense is to get to Clint Trickett early and often. If Shawn Oakman and the rest of the pass rushers can harry Trickett frequently in the early goings of this game, it's probable that he'll get off his game and won't be accurate in getting the ball to the man that is clearly their best player in Kevin White. We're also giving tremendous respect to Head Coach Dana Holgorsen because the man knows his stuff. We think that they'll try and counter that pressure by getting the ball out of Trickett's hands quickly and into the hands of their WRs and RBs (which they use in the passing game more frequently than Baylor does theirs, as Mark mentioned in the First Look post). Trickett is pretty good at doing that so it will be interesting to see how they do. Another key will be solid, fundamental tackling. For the perceived challenges in the secondary, Ryan Reid and Xavien Howard have been excellent in not giving up a ton of yards after the catch with solid fundamentals in tackling. BUT WAIT: This West Virginia team may be the best roster in terms of guys with excellent names. Rushel Shell. Wendell Smallwood, point guard for Hickory High School. Dreamius Smith. DaeJuan Funderburk. Dontrill Hyman. The list goes on. We realize that we didn't talk in great detail about our offense vs. their defense, but we got a bit of talk in there about it. We just had to move on for time purposes. Picks of the Week I'll fill these in at some point quick. Community Feedback! Thanks for sending in those questions, all you who did. With an open date looming after West Virginia, you can bet that we'll be reaching out to you all for more questions in the next week or so. Remember, you can send us questions to the podcast by emailing them at OurDailyPodcast(at)gmail(dot)com, tweeting at the podcast (linked below), asking Mark via email or Twitter, or calling That Good Ol' Baylor Phone Line at (774) 25-SICEM (774-257-4236). Podcasts are always better with listener interaction, and we covet yours! Lastly... Bryce Petty, you go get it. You pad those stats. We love it.
