On deck: (5:52) As I commence the podcast, I'm asking for a bit of a favor. Today is my 56th birthday. I implore you (if you haven't done so already) to please subscribe to the YouTube channel (@JAYREELZ) or whichever podcast platform you frequent (Apple Podcasts, Spotify, etc.) I sincerely appreciate it and thank you from the bottom of my heart. (7:18) From 68 to four. For the first time since 2008 and the second time in Tournament history, all of the top seeds in each region will face off in the Final Four come Saturday in San Antonio. I'll discuss how Florida, Auburn, Duke and Houston all got to this point as March Madness this year has been anything but. (24:18) With less than two weeks remaining in the NBA season, why did the Memphis Grizzlies fire their head coach, Taylor Jenkins? Was it a move that was warranted? Or is this out of desperation? Kevin Durant suffers a left ankle sprain and will be out of the lineup for the immediate future. Are the Suns postseasons chances cooked? Have the 2024-25 Detroit Pistons gone back to yesteryear and are the Bad Boys 2.0? I'll explain why while I'll check in on where teams stand when it comes to the playoff chase in each conference. Quite frankly, there isn't too much to write home about. Oh! If you're not watching Celtics City on MAX, I suggest you start doing so. (44:21) Are the defending Stanley Cup Champion Florida Panthers the team to beat in the playoffs over Washington, Toronto and the like in the Eastern Conference? I'll share why that may be the case, plus, Alex Ovechkin adds another goal to get that much closer to Wayne Gretzky's record. (And a possible retirement for the Great 8! Stay with me! I'll explain.) Sidney Crosby takes down a Gretzky record himself over the past few days. (Could Ovechkin or Crosby be on the NHL's Mt. Rushmore?) A classy gesture by the Capitals towards goaltender Marc Andre Fleury. I'll see where we are in the division and wild card playoff races as we're less than three weeks from the conclusion of the season. (57:48) We're just four days into the MLB campaign. We have the Dodgers and Yankees on a pace to go 162-0, with the latter using bats that have caused a stir. The Marlins lead the NL East with three walk off wins, no less. And three teams who made the postseason last year are all winless (DET, MIL, ATL) (1:07:55) Is it possible that the 49ers will move WR Brandon Aiyuk by tomorrow? In an already active offseason by the once removed NFC Champions, nothing is out of bounds. The Philadelphia Eagles are NFC Champions and are heading to the Super Bowl! The Birds beat the Washington Commanders down at The Linc in the NFC Championship Game by a score of 55-23. It will be the second time in the past three years that the Eagles are heading to the Super Bowl. We gave our thoughts, themes, and grades after the game.Jalen Hurts performed incredibly well given the knee issue that was bothering him for much of the week after the game against the Rams. But the real offensive story from the game was 7 total rushing touchdowns thanks to Hurts, Saquon Barkley and a very resilient offensive line.Vic Fangio's defense, played incredible at all levels once again this week holding Jayden Daniels and the Commanders offense to only 23 points. Turnovers were a huge theme in this game as the Eagles had three fumble recoveries. As always, we gave our top themes, thoughts and opinions from the game on offense, defense, and special teams, and then graded each unit on both sides of the ball, as well as the coaching staff.Head over to our website for all of our podcasts and more: philadelphiasportstable.com.Follow us on BlueSky:Jeff: @jeffwarren.bsky.socialErik: @brickpollitt.bsky.socialFollow us on Threads:Jeff: @mrjeffwarrenErik: @slen1023The Show: @philadelphiasportstableFollow us on Twitter/X:Jeff: @Jeffrey_WarrenErik: @BrickPollittThe Show: @PhiladelphiaPSTFollow the show on Instagram: instagram.com/philadelphiasportstable.
The Philadelphia Eagles are NFC Champions! The Eagles defeated the Washington Commanders with a score of 55-23. The Eagles set a record for the most points scored in a championship game. Jalen Hurts and Saquon Barkley were the stars of the show yesterday, dominating the Commanders' defense. The Eagles are set to face the Kansas City Chiefs in a Super Bowl rematch.
Setting a record for the most points in a conference title game is pretty good way to punch your ticket to the Super Bowl. A DOMINANT performance from the Eagles. Oh and the QB everyone loves to point at and question well he laughed his way to New Orleans today. The Eagles 55 the Commanders 23! I go over this glorious game and get into the talking about the game in two weeks against Kansas City to complete the Eagles revenge tour.https://sportspyder.com/nfl/philadelphia-eagles/news?pid=4349

1:30pm Hour 2: Legend of the game joins the show as the Bills take on the NFC Champions
This is a free preview of a paid episode. To hear more, visit www.golongtd.comTwo games in, the Minnesota Vikings think it's a damn fight. First, Kevin O'Connell's crew clobbered the Giants. Next, they stunned the defending NFC Champions. Can it last? Here on the “Ty & Bob Pod” at Go Long — with Hall of Fame scribe Bob McGinn — we take a close look at the Vikes' 23-17 win over the San Francisco 49ers. Sam Darnold wasn't perfect, but he's unafraid to pull the trigger. It's working. Brian Flores' defense has been unlocked, too. We'll learn a lot about this team with Houston and Green Bay on deck. Lions-Bucs talk begins at the 34:35 mark. Why Dan Campbell's team lost to Tampa Bay may surprise you. McGinn uncovers everything on film.Bears-Texans analysis begins at 55:10. How concerned should Bears fans be about Caleb Williams on a scale from 1 to 10? We discuss. The USC quarterback — facing a history of quarterback ineptitude — is off to a rocky rookie season. Then, around 1:08:50, it's on to Packers-Colts. This was one of Matt LaFleur's most impressive wins as head coach. Twenty days after signing, quarterback Malik Willis gets a win. Talk about emasculated. Good grief, the Indianapolis Colts likely flew back home with their tail between their legs. Green Bay ran the ball on 53 of 67 plays. As always, the episode concludes with a “McGinn Memory.” This one features a player from the 90s who'd answer every single question inside the Packers locker room, win or lose. Thank you for listening and sharing. Full episodes are always available to our paid subscribers at Go Long. Audio is above. Full video is below. Icymi, here's my Monday column and profile of Vikings safety Harrison Smith.Thank you for sharing Go Long with a friend.
Ben Goessling, Andrew Krammer and Jim Souhan recap the Vikings' 23-17 win over the 49ers from U.S. Bank Stadium, where Sam Darnold had a huge play and a clutch late drive, the defense starred once again, and players walked away feeling like they made a statement about their ability to play bully ball like San Francisco.
The 49ers offense, without Christian McCaffrey, poked holes in the Jets defense in a 32-19 win on Monday Night Football. Aaron Rodgers and the Jets faced a tall task in starting the season against last year's NFC Champions, and the offense failed to launch. Mike Francesa gives his instant reaction after the game.
Joe Ostrowski and Sam Panayotovich recap and react to all of last night's College Football action, that featured North Carolina covering -1.5 against Minnesota after a late missed Field Goal and Colorado barley surviving against North Dakota State. Plus, Brandon Aiyuk stays in San Francisco, agreeing to a 4 year contract and the betting impact it will have on the defending NFC Champions. The Rivals head out West to the divisions of both the AFC & NFC Champions. But can anyone actually compete with the 49ers and Chiefs? Plus Fantasy Nuggets. Support the Show.Nick on Instagram
One of the biggest NFL off-season storylines is the contract negotiations coming from the reigning NFC Champions in San Francisco and if their star WR Brandon Aiyuk, former first round pick, will still be a 49er heading into 2024 season. Since the week after the Super Bowl, his contract has been a hot topic with constant media coverage, rumors, and social media buzz. Adding fuel to the fire, there are speculations that Aiyuk might reunite with his former ASU teammate and close friend Quarterback Jayden Daniels at the Washington Commanders… And the Pivot in partnership with Fanatics uncovers the truth and cuts through the noise. In today's episode, sitting with the source himself, Ryan, Channing and Fred have a conversation with Brandon Aiyuk around what's true, what's not and ask the looming question- will a new deal be done before training camp ? Or does Aiyuk have his sights set on a short list of NFL teams he feels he can be the X factor on. Brandon explains the why behind the viral face time post of him and his long-time friend Jayden Daniels and why he's taking these contract negotiations personal while sharing his true priorities and mindset as he discusses what he believes he's worth, the significance of the big dollar-signs and how he handles the pressures of these high-stakes discussions under the public eye. With an unsettling sentiment and signs of discourse between the San Francisco organization and Aiyuk since the Super Bowl loss in Feb, Brandon is setting the record straight about his emotions around the loss against the Chiefs and sharing his true thoughts in his voice without any misconstrues. Aiyuk gives us his perspective on the state of the league, being the next domino to fall in the contract pool of wide receivers and sharing insights on quarterback Brock Purdy, his teammates and how much talent is on this 49er roster, full understanding the grass may not be greener elsewhere but he's not closing the door on reuniting with his friend and former teammate Daniels in Washington or dabbling with other teams, ofcourse with the Steelers being one Ryan hopes is on the list. Growing up in a 49ers fan home, Aiyuk has deep love for the team but also has openness to new opportunities. Tune in for an unfiltered conversation that delves into the heart of Brandon Aiyuk's current journey, his aspirations, and the roller coaster side of professional football negotiations. The Philadelphia Eagles beat the San Francisco 49ers by a score of 31-7 down at the Linc to become the NFC Champions! The Birds now head to Super Bowl 57, which is going to be an amazing game.It was a bizarre game as Brock Purdy and Josh Johnson both saw time under center for the 49ers. The unraveling of the Niners will certainly be a major theme coming from this game. The Eagles took care of business, exposed the Niners vulnerabilities and came away with the win.The Eagles offense scored 4 rushing touchdowns, while Jalen Hurts looked a little “off” at times within the passing game. But inevitably, he came through when he needed to help secure this win. The Eagles defense was completely dominant and took the 49ers offense out of the game early in the first quarter. As always, we gave our themes, takeaways from the game, and our grades.Head over to our website for all of our podcasts and more: philadelphiasportstable.com.Follow us on Twitter:Jeff Warren: @Jeffrey_WarrenLen Hunsicker: @LenHunsickerErik Leonard: @BrickPolittAnd the show: @PhiladelphiaPSTFollow the show on Instagram: instagram.com/philadelphiasportstable
