Today is the Super Bowl, and while millions gather to watch, we're here to ask: What are we really watching? In this episode of All My Relations, Temryss Lane (Lummi Nation) and Matika Wilbur (Swinomish & Tulalip) dive into the deep, complex relationship between Native communities and sport.American football is more than just a game—it's a battlefield. From its origins at the Carlisle Indian School to its modern-day spectacle of billion-dollar profits, colonial metaphors, and racialized labor, the sport reflects a larger American story. “Football is about violence. It's about territory. It's about power,” Temryss reminds us.We discuss how sports have been both a tool of oppression and liberation for Native athletes, the NFL's plantation-like structure, the devastating impact of CTE on Black and Indigenous players, and the erasure of Native identity through mascotry (looking at you, Chiefs fans).“I can't unsee it. Football is a game where predominantly Black players put their brains on the line for white owners to get richer,” says Matika. “And yet, I grew up watching it with my grandma, pretending to care at Super Bowl parties, and even playing fantasy leagues for years.”We hold the contradictions of loving sport, recognizing its harm, and pushing for better. “Sports teach us belonging,” Temryss says. “It's why Native people are damn good at them.”Watch the Super Bowl if you must, but listen to this first. And for the record—Go Eagles.
SUPER BOWL LIX is upon us and CORSO & CATONE drop truth bombs of who should walk away with the win! Plus, Celtics back to business after a few changes and CATONE COMMENTS on the NIL... All that and more!!!

Sisters Amy and Meg's story reveals how even the closest family bonds can fracture – and heal. Growing up with a widowed mother in the 1960s, their relationship became strained by years of unbalanced dynamics and taken-for-granted love. When Meg finally stepped away, it led to painful years of separation that affected both sisters and their families. Through persistence, humility and grace, they found their way back to each other, rebuilding their relationship one Sunday hike at a time. Their path from estrangement to reconciliation demonstrates how healing begins with showing up, asking questions, and making the other person a priority – proving that sometimes the hardest conversations lead to the most meaningful transformations. (Note: for anyone unfamiliar with the "Go Birds!' comment at the end of the pod - Kelly, Amy and Meg all share having grown up in the Philadelphia area and at the time of this recording, the Philadelphia Eagles are on their way to the 2025 Super Bowl. "Go Birds!" is a shortened form of "Go Eagles!" but has become a widely used way to share Philly pride and is now a stand-in for, "Hi", "Bye", "Thanks", "Have a nice day" or just about anything else.) We're thrilled to celebrate Mother's Day with the inimitable Molly McGrath and her incredible mom, Deb! Molly currently serves as a sideline reporter for ESPN/ABC Saturday college football games, as well as college basketball. She is also the devoted mom of Ray (3) and Pierce (1). Molly went into labor with Ray the night of the 2021 National Championship. Since then she has covered three National Championships, including one while eight months pregnant with Pierce. One of her proudest moments was finding out that she was nominated for a Sports Emmy while nursing Pierce at just two weeks old.Ashley and Molly are connected not only as sports broadcasters and moms, but also as Boston College alums (Go Eagles!). During her time at BC, Molly created the student reporter role and received the “Athletic Director's Award for Academic Excellence.” According to Lisa, Ashley won the “Best Bar Hopping Award”, which is basically just as impressive. Meanwhile, Lisa and Molly bonded over the shared struggles and joys of being a #boymom. And though this interview was their first official meeting, tune in to hear why Lisa had her eye on Molly for many years. Just when we thought we couldn't cram any more love into this episode, Molly's mom Deb joined us as a surprise guest. Deb is a retired cardiac nurse and former head of her department at San Francisco General. She currently volunteers for Hospice and cares for Molly's father, who is terminally ill with lung cancer. She is, in Molly's words, “a saint.” No one could hold back the tears as Molly and Deb shared their mutual love and admiration for each other. We don't pick favorite episodes, but if we did, this one would be up there…On behalf of all of us at YourMom, Happy Mother's Day love to all the moms and mother-figures out there making the world a better place. We love you. -We also know for many people, Mother's Day weekend can be a painful time. In honor of anyone facing and grieving the loss of their own mom, we recorded an episode last year with Yogi Roth to pay tribute to his late mother, Devorah Channah Roth. We hope you can find comfort in Yogi's story and Devo's lasting memory. Thanks as always for listening and being a part of our community. Brandon Tierney is flooded in and won't be able to make it into work today. His street is flooded and he can't drive through it. Diane calls in to see if we got her package in the mail. She sent us coffee mugs and bags with caricatures of ants on them. Where will Bill Belichick go after this season? Many seem to think the Chargers as they just fired their GM and Head Coach. There's a new Christmas book called, ‘Hookers and Blow Save Christmas'. Jerry returns for his final update of the day and they talk about Tiger Woods and his son Charlie playing together. Gio had a golf shot hit a tree and come back to hit Gio right in the shoulder. The Giants lost in New Orleans and did not even manage a TD. After losing 30-0 to the Dolphins, he was asked if it was embarrassing. DJ Reed said ‘sometimes you get your ass whooped'. Nick Sirianni said the Eagles need to get a win tonight in Seattle. The Moment of The Day involves Boomer morphing into Steve Somers. In the final segment of the show, are the Cowboys the most hated team in the NFL? In baseball, is it the Yankees? In basketball, is it the Lakers? We mean long term for this conversation. Here and there another team is hated for a short period of time. In hockey, Boomer said it's the Maple Leafs. Gio said he got videos from people saying he beat Eddie in the chug contest even though Eddie was declared the winner. Speedy beat Al 2-1 in the free throw shooting contest.

Full Hour | Today, Dom led off the Dom Giordano Program by expressing his excitement for the upcoming weekend as the local Philadelphia Eagles prepare to take on the Kansas City Chiefs in the Super Bowl. Dom briefs listeners on the policing situation following the game, as Philadelphia tradition dictates that fans take to the streets to climb greased poles, noting that Delaware County police will be helping, along with multiple public services in Philadelphia. Then, Dom tells that the Biden administration will not give Fox an interview prior to the Big Game, breaking a long tradition, telling why this is further proof of the blatant weakness of the Biden administration. Then, Dom welcomes in Nathan Benefield, Senior Vice President of the Commonwealth Foundation, back onto the Dom Giordano Program to discuss a new ruling by the Pennsylvania Commonwealth Court which decided that the funding system for the State, particularly pertaining to Philadelphia public schools, violates the state constitution. In a press release, Benefield wrote, “The court is right to affirm that the current system of education funding is flawed—but thankfully stopped short of mandating more money to a broken system, and left it to the legislature and executive branches to find a solution.” Benefield explains what exactly the decision means from a conservative perspective, how it will affect taxes moving forward, and frames how this changes the discussion on school choice.
