What was once looking to be a promising season, has turned into a monstrous disappointment yet again. Instead of controlling our own playoff destiny, we're now dependent on various outcomes for a shot at the final tourney after losing 5 straight. Skylar Thompson gets the nod this week against the Jets, can he lead Miami to a playoff appearance?!Game Recap: Miami Dolphins 21, New England Patriots 23Gotta Love ItThe game plan was great, leaning on Raheem Mostert and Jeff Wilson Jr. worked wonderfully for most of the game. The defense overall was better, but only because of who the opponent was. While the scoreboard says 23, the defense only allowed 17 of the points.Elandon Roberts had a day, consistently showing up on defense and special teams.Hate to See ItWe could put a wooden toy player out there and they'd play better than Eric Rowe.Teddy Bridgewater makes me long for the return of Jacoby Brissett. The injuries keep on piling up… the offensive line, defensive backfield, and QB room are decimated.Final ThoughtsWe've lost 5-straight with no real answer in sight. This was an extremely winnable game, marred by penalties and undisciplined play, but even that was overshadowed by the embarrassing performances of the Quarterbacks.Game Preview: 8-8 Miami Dolphins vs. 7-9 New York JetsPlayoff UpdateMiami needs to win and the New England Patriots need to lose to the Buffalo Bills for the Dolphins to clinch the final AFC Playoff spot. Game DetailsThis game will kick off on Sunday, January 8th at 1:00 pm EST on FOX.The weather will be slightly warm, but still nice football weather, clocking in at 78 degrees and partly cloudy, with just a 10% chance of precipitation. The betting line has the Dolphins as 2.5-point favorites. Injury ReportMIA IR: Eric FisherOut: Tua TagovailoaFinishes the regular season with 3,548 passing yards, 25 passing touchdowns, 8 interceptions, and 70 rushing yards. He played in 12 games this season and sits 1st in yards/attempt, 1st in yards/completion, 5th in yards/game, 4th in QBR, and 1st in QB Rating.Doubtful: Terron Armstead, Kendall Lamm, Cedrick WilsonQuestionable: Bradley Chubb, Xavien Howard, Teddy Bridgewater, Alec Ingold, Eric RoweNYJOut: Duane Brown, Brandin Echols, George Fant, Lamarcus Joyner, Nate HerbigQuestionable: Laurent Duvernay-Tardif, Jordan Whitehead, Mike White, Ashtyn Davis, C.J. UzomahTeam TrendsBoth teams are looking to break a 5-game losing streak with backup quarterbacks. The Jets have scored just 4 offensive touchdowns in their last 5 games, with 0 in their last 2.Keys to the GameRely heavily on Mostert and Wilson.Thompson's accuracy is shaky at best, but he's got wheels. Get him rolling out.The Jets are going to start Joe Flacco, with our depleted secondary, we should go to Boyer's specialty: BLITZ, BLITZ, BLITZ.Madden Prediction: Dolphins 3, Jets 17Fins Family Podcast Final Prediction: Dolphins 17, Jets 16Support the showThank you so much for listening, #FinsUp baby! The Grinch visited our Miami Dolphins on Christmas Day, sending us from a fan base full of hope to rumblings of the “same old Dolphins”. Tua is set to miss more time with another concussion, leaving our playoff fate in the hands of Teddy Bridgewater as we get set for a division clash with the New England Patriots. Game Recap: Miami Dolphins 20, Green Bay Packers 26Gotta Love ItThe defense showed a lot of strong play and overall they setup the offense in good position pretty consistently.Jaylen Waddle and Tyreek Hill are absolute cheat codes, both pulling down the deep ball with ease in the first half. Running on 4th and 1.Hate to See ItI can't say enough how curious I am to see if Mike McDaniel pulls the plug on Josh Boyer. Tua continues to show signs of regression, throwing 3 interceptions in the 4th quarter and ultimately losing us a very winnable game.Tua being in the concussion protocol for the second time this season is going to leave a lot of unanswered questions. The special teams unit is so bad that they just gave up at one point, kicking a squib that set the Packers up near the 50-yard line.Final ThoughtsTua's mistakes are snowballing and he doesn't seem to know how to get out of it. This defense is so promising, with a better coaching staff on that side of the ball we could see a huge turnaround from them next season.Game Preview: 8-7 Miami Dolphins vs. 7-8 New England PatriotsPlayoff UpdateThe Dolphins would make the playoffs if:They win their final two gamesThey win against the Patriots and the Jets lose week 17They win against the Jets and the Patriots lose week 18The Dolphins would miss the playoffs if:They lose their final two gamesThey go 1-1 and are forced into a tiebreaker with another AFC East teamThe 5th seed would be up for grabs if the Ravens and Chargers both lost their final two games or if there is a three-way tie at 10-7.Injury ReportMIA Questionable: Terron Armstead, Bradley Chubb, River Cracraft, Alec Ingold, Xavien Howard, Greg LittleDoubtful: Eric FisherOut: Tua TagovailoaNEQuestionable: Jalen Mills, Hunter Henry, Jonathan Jones, Rhamondre Stevenson, Tyquan ThorntonOut: Jack Jones, Marcus Jones, DeVante Parker, Jonnu SmithTeam TrendsBoth teams are 1-4 in their last 5 regular season games.Miami is 4-1 in their last 5 head-to-head matchups with New England.Keys to the GameKeep it simple for Teddy, but don't be so predictable that it leads to turnovers.Tyreek and Waddle should destroy this beat-up secondary, get them the ball.Cover-0 has worked really well against Mac Jones in the past and the Patriots' offense has been in a state of turmoil as of late. Frustrating them early could cause an implosion.Madden Prediction: Dolphins 21, Patriots 38Fins Family Podcast Final Prediction: Dolphins 24, Patriots 21Support the showThank you so much for listening, #FinsUp baby! Our third straight loss was a tough pill to swallow, but our boys came to play, giving the Buffalo Bills quite the challenge before falling within the game's final minutes. On this episode, we'll take one last look at the defeat to the Bills, then dive into our Christmas Day matchup against the Aaron Rodgers' lead Green Bay Packers.Game Recap: Miami Dolphins 29, Buffalo Bills 32Gotta Love ItRaheem Mostert got the ground game going, rushing 17 times for 136 yards, including a 67-yard scamper. Backup Salvon Ahmed tacked on another 43 yards on 6 carries. The defense was up and down, but made enough plays to win, recovering a fumble, recording 2 sacks, 4 tackles for a loss, and forcing the Bills to punt the ball away 5x.The offense continued to push the ball downfield, this time connecting on deep completions of 32 and 67 to Jaylen Waddle, the latter connecting for a Touchdown.Hate to See ItThrowing a highly predictable out route on 3rd and 1 in a game where the run was dominating, then doubling down during the press conferences afterward, saying it was the right call based on what they were seeing from the defense. There's still no answer to the throw to the flat, Buffalo hit it early and often, with no adjustments from our defense in sight. The defense was again dominated by the QB run. Toward the end of the game when the weather started to get bad again, Allen was able to move the ball with ease on designed QB runs. Final ThoughtsI don't love the fact that Coach McDaniel and Frank Smith both doubled down on the 3rd and 1 pass fiasco that we've seen time and time again. Coach McDaniel also addressed the glaring concerns on defense and says he expects that unit to turn things around quickly.Game Preview: 6-8 Green Bay Packers @ 8-6 Miami DolphinsPlayoff UpdateMiami is now 3 games back of the division leader Buffalo Bills, and will likely need to get into the playoffs via a wild card spot. Miami currently holds the final playoff spot in the AFC as the 7 seed. If Miami wins this week and next week, they'll lock themselves into the playoffs. The Packers can lock in a playoff spot if they win out. Game DetailsThis game is the first game of the NFL's Christmas triple-header, kicking off at 1:00 pm on Christmas Day.Injury ReportMIA Questionable: Terron Armstead, Jaelan Phillips, Eric Rowe, Jeff Wilson Jr. Doubtful: River Cracraft, Eric FisherGBDoubtful: OT David BakhtiariTeam TrendsMiami comes into this one losing to 3-straight playoff-caliber teams, going 1-3 in their last four games, with their lone win against the Houston Texans.Green Bay is 2-2 in their last 4, defeating the Bears and Rams and falling to the Titans and Eagles.Keys to the GameGet the running game going again. The defense needs to force some turnovers and cause confusion.Force the Packers to be pass heavy.Madden Prediction: Dolphins 41, Packers 3Fins Family Podcast Prediction: Dolphins 32, Packers 17Support the showThank you so much for listening, #FinsUp baby! Back-to-back losses for the first time since our week 4 to 6 skid without Tua has the fan base reeling already. In today's episode, we'll talk about what went wrong, and what went right against the LA Chargers. Then we'll dive into our biggest matchup of the year, taking on our rival Bills in snowy Buffalo. Time to get back on track!Game Recap: Miami Dolphins 17, Los Angeles Chargers 23Gotta Love ItChristian Wilkins and Jaelan Phillips are turning into the lifelong stars that we all hoped they would.Tyreek Hill finds the endzone twice with a scoop & score and another deep bomb down the sideline.Kohou's tackle on the 4th & goal quick-pass in the flat to prevent the Touchdown in the first quarter. The defensive sequence after the Tyreek Hill scoop-and-score was the most competent that unit has looked since the Browns game. The defense came out in the second half and held the Chargers to a 3 and out to keep us in the game a bit longer.Hate to See ItThe offensive adjustments have been nonexistent. The “slip a guy wide open into the flat” game was strong against the defense again.Tua goes 10/28 for 145 yards. The defensive scheme to have everyone stand in the endzone on 3rd and goal from like the 15. The offense floundered a great defensive hold on the first drive of the second half and our best field position of the night with a 3 & out of their own.Final ThoughtsI think I'm finally on board with the thought process that it's time for Josh Boyer to go. The offensive woes over these last two games are a concern. Game Preview: 8-5 Miami Dolphins @ 10-3 Buffalo BillsPlayoff UpdateMiami is 2 games back of the Bills in the divisionMiami is 1 game ahead of the Jets and Patriots in the divisionBuffalo holds the #1 seed in the AFCMiami holds the #6 seed in the AFCIf Miami wins, they pull within 1 game of the division lead and hold the tiebreaker with the Bills. If Buffalo wins, they'd be 3 games ahead and practically lock up another division title.Game DetailsThis is Miami's second straight prime-time game.Heavy snow and high winds are expected throughout the game.Injury ReportMIA: Terron Armstead, Teddy Bridgewater, and Jeff Wilson Questionable; River Cracraft Doubtful; Elijah Campbell and Eric Rowe Out.BUF: Ryan Bates and Jordan Phillips are Out.Team TrendsMiami has scored just 17 points in each of their last two games after averaging nearly 34 points per game in the four games prior.Miami's defense has given up 28 points per game over the last two weeks.Buffalo has won 4-straight after losing 2-straight in early November, including wins over the Patriots and Jets.Keys to the GameGet the ball to the Cheetah and the Penguin in open space. Don't be so predictable on defense. Be on the right side of the turnover trend and take all the points you can get. Madden Prediction: Dolphins 41, Bills 3Fins Family Podcast Prediction: Dolphins 16, Bills 24Support the showThank you so much for listening, #FinsUp baby! While both teams have seen their defenses struggle, their offenses have been thriving in totally different ways. Will the Dolphins passing attack get it done again, or will the Browns potent run game prove to be too much?Mike McDaniel Media Availability - November 11, 2022[When asked about Nick Chubb] You'd be hard-pressed not to call him the best back in the league … I'd be surprised if there's a higher level of play simply because he's hard to tackle, and they hand him the ball and you're trying to stop the ball.[On what he's seen from Emmanuel Ogbah] He had an injury setback that he's worked his way back from. It was another game to be impressed by the offense and embarrassed by the defense. Still, a win is a win, and that's exactly what we got when our Miami Dolphins went into Soldier Field and took down the Chicago Bears 35-32 in one of our most thrilling matchups of the year. Despite the defensive struggles, it was a defensive player I've been asking to see more from all season that made perhaps the biggest play of the game.MilestonesTyreek Hill surpasses the 1,000-yard receiving mark in only 9 games and he currently leads the NFL with 1,104 rec yards on 76 receptions. He's on pace for 2,085 yards, which would break Calvin Johnson's single-season receiving yards record of 1,964.Tua Tagovailoa has now thrown for 300-yards and 3 TDs in two straight games. Since returning from his concussion he has thrown for a 70% completion rate, 315 yds/gm, 7 TDs, and 0 INTs.Performances of the WeekTua: 21/30, 302 yds, 3 TDs, 81.2 QBRJeff Wilson Jr.: 72 total yards, 3 receptions, 1 TDTyreek: 7 receptions, 143 yards, 1 TDJaylen: 5 receptions, 85 yards, 1 TDJaelan Phillips: 5 tackles, 1 blocked puntAndrew Van Ginkel: 1 blocked punt recovery for a TDImprovements NeededThe defense continues to be a huge liability on the field; knowing that Justin Fields was going to look to run we were unable to set the edge or spy the QB in any meaningful way, giving up 178 yards and a touchdown on the ground to Fields alone.Over-aggressiveness on offense has nearly come back to bite us two weeks in a row now. Going for a 4th and 5 late into the 3rd quarter with a 10-point lead and in FG range was confusing. Obviously, their confidence in Sanders has been shaken, but I almost would have rather seen Morstead given a shot to pin the Bears deep in their own zone. The only unit doing worse than the defense right now is the kicking unit, specifically Jason Sanders. From 29 yards out, Sanders had the opportunity to put the Dolphins up 24-17 going into the half and missed the chip shot FG. He's now 11 for 15 on the season and has missed a FG in 3 of the last 5 games.Week 9 Wrap UpTua continues to show a level of dominance we've only dreamed of. I love seeing him shut down the haters and I love it even more when that swagger comes out. Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle are the perfect combo at receiver to utilize his skills.Jeff Wilson Jr. showed up big on the stat sheet in his first week and was instantly a better compliment to Raheem Mostert. Bradley Chubb did not show up on the stat sheet much today, but his presence on the field was felt. Constant pressure was put on Fields from his side and he just missed on more than one sack in this one. Props to Jaelan Phillips as well, he was all over the field and had to be absolutely exhausted by the end of the game. Still - despite chasing down Fields from behind all day - he put effort out there on every play and came up huge with that punt block. It's come in three's so far this season, starting off the season with 3 wins, followed up by 3 losses, and now once again 3 straight wins. Let's hope we can break the streak of threes next week as we take on the dangerous Cleveland Browns rushing attack and former Miami Dolphins backup QB Jacoby Brissett. Support the showThank you so much for listening, #FinsUp baby! It's time to unleash our newly acquired weapons on the 3-5 Bears, who have been red hot on offense over their last two games, defeating the Patriots 33-14 and putting up 29-points against a very good Cowboys defense in a losing effort. It's a Halloween Victory Monday! In a chillingly close game with the one-win Detroit Lions, our Miami Dolphins managed to pick up our second straight win since Tua returned. How did our young signal caller look? Almost perfect.Miami Dolphins vs. Detroit Lions Game RecapEric Rowe a surprise inactive, but I'm happy the coaching staff realized what a liability he was before putting him out there!Braylon Sanders gets the nod over Erik Ezukanma with River Cracraft out; what's up with that!?Tua has another nearly perfect game - putting the Miami Dolphins in victory formation despite their early struggles. The Cheetah and Penguin show continues to be the most exciting Miami Dolphins football I've seen in my lifetime.Alec Ingold is an absolute beast; making big-time blocks all over the field, springing Tua for an 18-yard scramble, and picking up the first rushing touchdown of his career!Great job by the defensive coaching staff getting the defense motivated to completely flip the script in the second half.Jevon Holland was all over the place trying to be a one-man show; potentially giving up some big plays in the process. The pass rush was virtually non-existent yet again. Goff was getting the ball out quickly, but there were missed opportunities to turn this game around earlier. The secondary was exposed again, but not just against guys like Kohou and Crossen.Another pretty ugly win, but it showed some grit from this team. Detroit has played extremely well at home this season, even giving the Philadelphia Eagles a good run for their money. If we can get this defense back to making big plays, this team will be one to be feared in the playoffs. Support the showThank you so much for listening, #FinsUp baby! In a game where the offense looked like it was going to put up record numbers, it was the defense that dominated the show, forcing 3 Kenny Pickett interceptions, including one on the final drive of the game by none other than Noah Igbinoghene.Miami Dolphins vs. Pittsburgh Steelers Game RecapThe offense came out firing on all cylinders, but slowly sputtered away into non-existence.A lot is being made of Tua throwing his body into defenders after all the concussion stuff he went through.Three really bad throws by Tua resulted in 3 dropped interceptions, luck was on our side. While Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle, and Raheem Mostert continued to be the stars of the offense, it was good to see Trent Sherfield and Mike Gesicki getting more involved.Chase Edmonds needs to be left on the bench… 2 drive-killing drops in his limited playing time.Andrew Van Ginkel was back and made his presence known.Jaelan Phillips finally had the all-star performance we've been looking for.Justin Bethel, Clayton Fejedelem, and Noah Igbinoghene all performed well after being forced into action due to injuries.Eric Rowe is a liability out there; I cringe watching him play.Congrats to rookies Ben Stille (2 tkls, 0.5 stuffs) and Verone McKinley III (1 tkl) who both got their first regular season action this week!It wasn't pretty, but at the end of the day, it's a win for our Miami Dolphins and puts us at 4-3 for the season. For the third time in as many weeks, we're commiserating over a Miami Dolphins loss. The silver lining here is the defense truly showed what they can do in this one and we could be getting healthy at just the right time.Miami Dolphins InjuriesSkylar Thompson, Trey Flowers, Nik Needham, and Keion Crossen all left with injuries and did not return. Emmanuel Ogbah left with an injury and later returned. Waddle was hurt on one of the final offensive plays of the day; not sure of his status.Miami Dolphins vs. Minnesota Vikings Week 6 TakeawaysThe offense continued to play some of the most undisciplined and uninspiring football we've seen in a long while. Teddy Bridgewater had a pretty bad day going with just 105 yards passing into the 4th quarter before he exploded on the final few drives ending the day with 329 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions.Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle continue to make a case for the most explosive WR duo in the league, both going over 100 yards on the day again.Waddle had a pretty forgettable day in the turnover department, dropping the ball into the defender's hands for an interception and later fumbling as the Dolphins were driving late into the 4th quarter.Mike Gesicki showed up! I called for him in the preview and he put in work, pulling in 6 of 7 targets for 69 yards and 2 touchdowns.Minnesota took advantage of Terron Armstead missing this game; recording 6 sacks on the day and regularly putting pressure on Teddy. The defense was absolutely outstanding in this game; holding the Minnesota Vikings offense to nine 3-and-outs on fourteen drives. Elandon Roberts: 7 tackles, 1.5 sacks, and 1 tfl.Raekwon Davis: 2 tackles, 1 sack, 1 tflJaelan Phillips: 2 tackles, 0.5 sackChristian Wilkins: 4 tackles, 2 tflBrandon Jones: 6 tacklesJevon Holland: 5 tacklesChristian Wilkins was in beast-mode all day and could be seen on the sideline trying to keep Waddle's head up after a tough day for the young receiver.    Noah Igbinoghene may have had the best game of his career. Xavien Howard had Jefferson locked down sans 1 big play on the day. Regardless, it was an excellent bounce-back game for the veteran.Three straight losses have gotten the Twitter machine rumbling with comments about this team being a fraud and our wins being flukes. Don't let the noise get to you, we were very competitive in these 3 losses and if a few calls go our way, we're looking at some wins. It's the way of the NFL, and as we get healthier, I'm confident this team will bounce back. Find a way to shut down Jefferson and let the other receivers try to beat you.Kirk Cousins is an average QB that will implode when under a lot of pressure, continue the aggressive defense, and force him into mistakes.Dalvin Cook and Alexander Mattison can really exhaust a defense, making this Vikings attack very well-balanced. Elite tackling by the safety tandem Jevon Holland and Brandon Jones will be paramount to stopping their attack.Special Teams - do better!Miami Dolphins vs. Minnesota Vikings Madden 23 PredictionMinnesota 24, Miami 3Skylar Thompson throws for less than 150 yards.Miami only runs the ball 9 times total.Miami forced 2 interceptions but failed to capitalize on them.Kirk Cousins throws for 250+ yards with 2 interceptions.Dalvin Cook runs for over 150 yards with 3 touchdowns.Fins Family Podcast Final Prediction: Miami Dolphins 10, Minnesota Viking 24Support the showThank you so much for listening, #FinsUp baby! Our Miami Dolphins were defeated by our bitter rivals, the New York Jets, in embarrassing fashion, 40-17 on Sunday. This was not the type of football we've learned to expect from our Miami Dolphins in 2022. It was sloppy and uninspiring, but surely we can find a positive in there somewhere right?Miami Dolphins vs. New York Jets Week 5 TakeawaysRaheem Mostert finally saw the breakout game I've been asking for, running the ball 18 times for 113 yards and a touchdown. He also had 1 catch for 9 yards.  Chase Edmonds went from looking like the answer at RB in the preseason to an absolute turd. Two big drops in this one and just 1 carry on the day. He's clearly lost favor with the coaching staff. I was wrong about Skylar, he was not ready for the big game. His stat line about matched his level of play on the field, going 19/33 for 166 yards, just 5 yards a completion, and two turnovers.Tyreek Hill was contained, despite catching all 7 targets, he only managed 47 yards for 6.7 yards per catch. He did draw a few big pass interference calls to set the Dolphins up in good field position, but for the most part, the Jets did a good job tackling him in the open field.Jaylen Waddle was virtually invisible, catching all 3 of his targets for just 23 yards and drawing a deep pass interference call to start the 4th quarter. For the first time this season, the offensive line looked pretty lost. Several penalties and missed blitz pickups ended many drives in this game. The double QB switch probably did not help matters any, but their ability to adapt was nonexistent. They gave up 16 QB hits on the day, 2 of which were for sacks. The defense continues to be porous and lacking in big plays. Just 2 sacks, 3 QB hits, and 2 passes defended on the day, with no turnovers to hang their hat on, I'm really starting to feel extreme disappointment in this unit.Brandon Jones had the best line in the stat sheet, recording 9 tackles, 1 sack, 1 tackle for a loss, and a QB hit, but he was certainly exposed at times.Eric Rowes missed assignment on Breece Hall was such an egregious miss for a veteran player, this dude just looked lost.Special Teams continue to be a significant issue. The kick coverage let up another big return, Morstead again averaged just 43.7 yards per punt with one inside the 20 and Jason Sanders missed only his second 50+ yard attempt of the year that would have given the Dolphins the lead in the 4th quarter.Final ThoughtsBack-to-back losses after an amazing 3-0 start against tough competition is not how we saw this going, but hopefully, we either get some stars back on the field or the next-men-up start to shine. Either way, it's onto Minnesota, a tough team to win against but a defense that has shown some holes, can our offensive genius take advantage? We'll take a look at our chances in our game preview later this week. Until then, #FinsUp baby!Support the showThank you so much for listening, #FinsUp baby! As expected, Tua Tagovailoa was ruled out early for this game and remains in the concussion protocol, which means Teddy Bridgewater will get his first start as a Miami Dolphin. Can he keep the offense afloat while Tua recovers? Shoutout to Dolfans NYC and the “Metlife Takeover” for breaking their personal record, reserving over 1400 seats for die-hard Dolfans!First Quarter ReviewThe coaching has been phenomenal, I'll give it an A+.The offense has looked much better than in the past but still has the frustrating propensity to stall when given golden opportunities. B+The defense has been pretty mediocre. We're middle of the road in scoring defense, but nearly dead last in yards allowed. I get the “bend but don't break” mentality, but my heart can't take it! CThe special teams have been ok outside of one Devin Duvernay opening kickoff returned for a touchdown. Nothing really special from Jason Sanders or Thomas Morstead, but neither is losing us any games either.Kader Kohou continues to make the biggest impact amongst our rookie class, recording 17 tkls, 1 tfl, 1 pd, and 1 ff and seeing his snap count increase to a full-time role over the past two games.Miami Dolphins Week 5 Injury ReportTE Cethan Carter and QB Tua Tagovailoa are Out with concussions.LT Terron Armstead, DB Keion Crossen, DB Xavien Howard, G Robert Jones, WR Jaylen Waddle, RB Salvon Ahmed, and WR Tyreek Hill are all Questionable to play.New York Jets Week 5 Injury ReportOT Max Mitchell and ILB Quincy Williams are Out.LB Marcell Harris is Questionable.Miami Dolphins Keys to the GameQB Teddy Bridgewater must take care of the football.Raheem Mostert should be leaned on to control the game. The offense needs to capitalize on turnovers. The defense should continue blitzing early and often out of disguised coverages.Breece Hall and Michael Carter are a nice 1-2 punch of youth, the interior defensive line and middle linebackers will need to frustrate them.Jamming the receivers at the line early and often should force Zach Wilson to go through his reads and delay his processing time.Miami Dolphins vs. New York Jets Madden 23 PredictionMiami Dolphins 14, New York Jets 1415 punts, 7 turnovers, and 10 sacksEmmanuel Ogbah: 6 TFL, 3.5 sacks, 10 tklsJaelan Phillips: 3 TFL, 1 sack, 1 FF, 1 FR, 6 tklsElandon Roberts: 1 TFL, 1 INT, 16 tackles1 INT for Kader Kohou and Xavien HowardFins Family Podcast Final Prediction: Miami Dolphins 28, New York Jets 13Support the show Let's connect on Twitter: @FinsFamilyPod

Now that it's confirmed he's ok, let's get back to football and take a look at a game that was just 2 plays away from seeing the Miami Dolphins start the year 4-0.Miami Dolphins vs. Cincinnati Bengals Week 4 RecapThe GreatThe defense played another rock-solid game, despite Xavien Howard going out with an injury in the 3rd quarter. The offensive line continues to give the quarterback time to throw. Tyreek Hill cannot be covered. The GoodTua looked really good yet again, outside of an underthrow deep to Hill, he was nearly perfect.Raheem Mostert got the run game going and looked really impressive.Kader Kohou gave up a big pass to Tyler Boyd at the beginning of the 4th quarter but otherwise held his own.The defensive line and linebackers really put the hurt on Joe Mixon, stuffing him time and time again. The BadTua goes out with a gruesome injury in the second quarter that likely puts him out for a few weeks at least, but I'd expect it to be over a month.Tee Higgins was wide open all day, pulling in 7 catches for 124 yards and a touchdown. Two bad interceptions away from a big win in the face of adversity. The injury to Tua has garnered attention from social media doctors across the world. While they fight for their 15 minutes of outrage-induced fame, there's a human being behind the story that will be facing a long journey back to the playing field to continue building upon his breakout season. All other teams combined for a 0-711 record during that time frame. (ESPN Stats & Info)Tyreek Hill (11-190-2) and Jaylen Waddle (11-171-2) become the first teammates to have 10+ receptions, 150+ yards, and 2+ touchdowns each in the same game in NFL history. (Greg Harvey @BetweenTheNums )Tua Tagovailoa looked amazing in this game, throwing 36 completions on 50 attempts for 469 yards, 6 touchdowns, and 2 interceptions for an astounding 90 QBR and tying a franchise record with Marino and Griese for most touchdowns in a game. The offensive line gave Tua plenty of time for most of the day, allowing just 1 sack, and leading the way to 86 yards rushing on just 18 carries; including a pivotal block by Greg Little to unleash Chase Edmons for a 28-yard scamper on the final drive. The GoodThe running game was on point! Raheem Mostert carried the ball 11 times for 51 yards, while Chase Edmonds tacked on 33 yards on 5 carries, including a 28-yard clutch run on the final drive.Alec Ingold had a dominant performance at FB in this one, making big-time blocks and catches all throughout the game.Mike Gesicki is alive! 4 catches, 41 yards, and a highlight jump ball in the back of the endzone showed off that athleticism we're dying to see more of from the TE.Kader Kohou played most of 2nd half as CB2; Needham only returned to play the final 3 snaps. (@DanielOyefusi)River Cracraft was once again elevated from the practice squad to participate in this one and once again made the most of his opportunities, finding the endzone in the third quarter. The coaching adjustments were phenomenal all-around. From Mike McDaniel getting his team in a one-drive-at-a-time mindset to Josh Boyer making the decision to pull Needham for the rookie Kohou. The BadThe opening kickoff was returned 103 yards by Baltimore Ravens WR Devin Duvernay.Lamar Jackson to Rashod Bateman for a 75-yard touchdown on the first play after tying the game.Lamar Jackson's 75-yard run straight through the defense put the Ravens up 35-14 at the end of the third quarter.Nik Needham essentially got benched in the second half in favor of Kader Kohou. The entire defense just got dominated by the Ravens, getting zero sacks and zero turnovers; essentially allowing the Ravens to do whatever they wanted for most of the day. This was a defining moment for Tua Tagovailoa and to some extent, Mike McDaniel, as well. It started off really messy, but we all know it's how you finish that defines you, and our boys finished in the best way possible. Enjoy your victory Monday Fins Fans, you deserve it, and I'll catch you later this week as we prepare to take on the Buffalo Bills in week 3. #FinsUp baby!Let's connect: @FinsFamilyPodSupport the show

Miami Dolphins 20-7 Victory Over the New England Patriots

One game up and one game down and it's a Miami Dolphins victory Monday! Today we're recapping the Miami Dolphins' 20-7 victory over the New England Patriots. We'll take a look at the great, the good, and the bad of the day, reflect on some things I'd like to see more of, and hype up a talented young player that definitely needs to see more playing time.Miami Dolphins NewsInactives Included: DB Eric Rowe, CB Noah Igbinoghene, WR Erik Ezukanma, RB Salvon Ahmed, TE Tanner Conner, LB Trey Flowers, and QB Skylar ThompsonOffensive linemen Austin Jackson, Greg Little, and Terron Armstead all saw their way to the sideline with injuries throughout the game. Jackson did not return. The GreatThe usage of Tyreek Hill was everything we hoped for and more. It took Jaylen Waddle a while to get involved, but once he did, the game was over. The Coaching Aggressiveness. On both offense and defense, the team stayed aggressive and it paid off. The GoodTua Tagavailoa was slinging it with accuracy most of the day, throwing the ball 33 times, completing 23 of them for 270 yards and a touchdown. Chase Edmonds didn't have an overly impressive stat line on the ground, just 25 yards on 12 carries, but he played safety valve for Tua in some huge spots. Jevon Holland and Xavien Howard showed why they deserve all the hype and accolades we fans throw at them. Brandon Jones was all over the field, making it hard to miss #29 flying every which way and making plays! Zach Sieler continued to show why he's probably the most underrated defensive lineman in all of football. The Defense continued their success from last season, playing bend, but don't break football throughout the game and allowing just 7 points on a drive that probably should have ended, but was kept alive by a questionable penalty. The BadThe offensive line, while improved, was far from great. Tua was sacked 3 times for a loss of 28 yards and there were virtually no running lanes to speak of the entire game. The run defense left a lot to be desired yet again. I talked about how important it was to stop the run in the pre-game show, but apparently, they didn't hear me. Tua Tagavailoa is also, unfortunately, in the bad section. While he did nothing to lose us the game, many of the frustrations fans had with him in his first two seasons reared their ugly head again in this one. What I'd Like to See More of from the Miami DolphinsRookie Undrafted Free Agent Kader Kohou should 100% see more playing time. He split snaps with Keion Crossen in this game at the 3rd cornerback spot, but his presence was known when he was on the field. Raheem Mostert wasn't as involved as I'd like to see, because when he was, he was explosive! Just 5 carries for 16 yards but he brings a level of speed you just don't see that often. Tua Tagavailoa rolling out and running! The guy can really sling it on the run and with the offensive line woes, I'm just unsure why we don't get him on the move more often. On top of that, there was an opportunity late in this game to pick up a first down with a 2-yard run, and instead, he skipped the ball to Trent Sherfield for an incompletion. Let's move those legs baby!Final ThoughtsOverall this was exactly what we needed to see from the Miami Dolphins in a pivotal divisional game against a hated rival to start the season. There will always be things to improve on, but a 20-7 win over the Patriots is the confidence boost the team, and the fans, needed to get this season rolling. Onto Baltimore to take down Lamar and revel in our 2-0 start. #FinsUp baby!

In this episode of the Fins Family Podcast, we recap the Miami Dolphins gut-wrenching 15-13 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders in week 2 of the 2022 NFL preseason. We'll take a look at how Tua Tagovailoa faired in his first action of the year, commiserate over the running game for a second straight week, and fall in love with Erik Ezukanma. All 3 QBs got in the gameTua looks good, shows strong command and leadership; did a good job buying time and finding the open receiverBridgewater looked like Teddy Bridgewater, some beautiful throws overshadowed by excessive backward running and overthrown ballsSkylar Thompson stole the show again making a case for himself as the backupThe Receiving CoreMike Gesicki was having a rough go and stayed in for a large portion of the game because of it.Erik Ezukanma solidifies a roster spot, and likely the 4th WR spot to boot with a strong 6 catches for 114 yards that only tells a small part of the story.Despite being heavily targeted and involved, Braylon Sanders failed to make a positive impression.Trent Sherfield pulled in his lone target for 16 yards on a beautiful route and throw from Tua. Since he's playing with the 1's I'd assume he's got a spot.Lynn Bowden Jr played heavily on special teams but only had 1 target on offense.River Cracraft ran some nice routes and did a great job getting open to bail out his QB, just not sure he's shown enough.Mohamed Sanu and Preston Williams didn't move the needle at all for themselves. The Run Game Struggles Again18 carries for 37 yards from 7 ball carriers.Salvon Ahmed leads the night with 5 for 20.Sony Michel fails to convert on 2nd and 1 and 3rd and 1, finishing with 2 carries for 0 yards.Chase Edmonds runs 3 times for 3 yards.Myles Gaskin goes 4 for 12 with a fumble at the end of the half.ZaQuandre White with a beautiful pass from Skylar Thompson, makes a man miss, and scores.Cornerback WoesNoah Igbinoghene continued to struggleNik Needham and Keion Crossen both went down with seemingly minor injuries but both were lost for the game; Needham was having a good game before the injury.Mackensie Alexander got smoked on a slant on one of his first plays in the game but redeemed himself on a nice pass breakup a few plays later.Kader Kohou took advantage of his opportunity, performing very well in coverage.Elijah Campbell had a meh night after a strong showing last week.Linebacker BattleStarters Zach Sieler, Jaelan Phillips, and Andrew Van Ginkel all stood out in their minimal play time.Duke Riley is a beast.Channing Tindall was all over the place, as the Madden sim told us he'd be, recording 6 tackles on the night and being around the ball constantly.Porter Gustin lands another sack and a TFL, making a strong case to put him on the 53-man.Cameron Goode was once again… good. 5 tackles and a tackle for a loss.Ben Stille showed up again too, grabbing a sack and a TFL for another strong showing.Did Darius Hodge play?  Jason Sanders misses the game-winning FG (46 yards)
