The Vet Alumni Podcast w/ Tek & Prem

The Eagles continue to win football games no matter how it looks, akin to the McNabb teams that just got it done. The difference is, this group has a Lombardi already. At 8-2, holding tiebreakers over every legitimate NFC contender, they head to Dallas for a divisional showdown on Sunday with a Cowboys team clinging to their proverbial Playoff life. After two weeks playing tough football in the elements at Lambeau and Lincoln Financial Field, the Eagles will suit up in a controlled environment at Jerry World, with their defense playing the best ball of the season, and an offense which has been battered and verbally assualted all week long, by the media, fans, and former players. The Jalen Hurts degradation persists despite him holding the highest passer rating among NFL Starting QBs on 3rd down, against the blitz, and subsequently posting the best TD/INT ratio in the NFL. Hurts does not make many mistakes that cost the team possessions and in his tenure, the team is 32-0 when they win the turnover battle in games he starts and finishes. Undefeated. The Sixers have promise and some depth, but they are not Championship contenders. The team is clearly Tyrese Maxey's team now, fresh off the heels of a 54-point performance in Milwaukee. The Embiid Era is over. Segments include: VetPhact, The Tek 10, Prem's NFL Picks. Courtesy of the Vet Alumni Members Association (VAMA)

We kick things off with the Show Pony flexing on Ben Stiller after he had things to say after the last meeting between the Heat and Knicks, and Tobin wonders where the Twitter fingers are now. Tobin and Leroy break down Kel'el Ware's performance last night, and Tobin likes his new shiny toy in Simone Fontecchio as the gang gets into the Thanksgiving spirit with Leroy giving everyone a step-by-step breakdown of how to fry a turkey. Is Jimmy Butler dodging his return to Miami? Tobin happens to think so, while Leroy is sick of the load management in professional sports and thinks why people are getting hurt. Brittney has the rant of all rants as she gets heated talking about Jaelan Phillips and him seemingly forgetting where he came from, and we play our favorite Tuesday game Damage is Done with Benstiller, friendly fire and more hate on Jaelan Phillips. Leroy tries to convince Tobin and Brittney that Notre Dame deserves to be higher than the Canes in the College Football Playoff, but Tobin is neither impressed nor hearing it. The gang is then joined by Doug Plagens as he talks about how fun the back-to-back Stanley Cup runs have been to call, the teams struggles and hopes for a threepeat, and of course Leroy asks him all his pressing and ridiculous Hockey questions. The guys go through the slate of last night's games one more time as both the Heat and Cats get the job done, our listeners are never safe from Leroy food ASMR as he indulges in a plate of Gnocchi, and Tobin is pressured by Leroy and Jfig to prove his loyalty by booing when Jimmy Butler is announced tomorrow.

The Philadelphia Eagles just destroyed the Detroit Lions on Sunday Night Football, and somehow I am both thrilled and on the brink of insanity. The defense might be the best in the NFL right now, while the offense feels like a weekly psychological experiment. In this episode of Birds vs Boys, I break down how the Eagles moved to 8–2, took control of the NFC East and the entire NFC, and why this defense is built to dominate in January. We talk about everything from Jared Goff going 2 for his last 18 to the Lions going 0 for 5 on fourth down, to how the Eagles defensive line absolutely obliterated Detroit's highly regarded offensive front. Jalen Carter, Jordan Davis, Jaelan Phillips, Nolan Smith, Brandon Graham, Zach Baun, Nakobe Dean and the entire unit were everywhere. The secondary locked up Amon-Ra St. Brown (no dances this week!) and the big guys up front batted pass after pass at the line of scrimmage. Then we get into the ugly part. The Eagles offense. From penalties on the tush push, to missed deep shots, to strange play calls on third and short, I try to answer the big question everyone is asking: what does this offense actually do well right now? Is it coaching, execution, effort? Hint to all you kids out there taking standardized tests...choose all of the above. There is a catalog of specific plays to digest with Saquon Barkley, A.J. Brown, DeVonta Smith, and more that leave you dumbfounded how they could struggle THIS MUCH.We also look ahead to Eagles vs Cowboys next week in what I am calling the final test for this offense. No wind, no cold, a dome, and a Cowboys defense that has been vulnerable. If they cannot move the ball here, we have a real problem.

Here's a hint: "Lambeau is by far the best road stadium."As brutal as the game was on offense, the guys talk about just how important it was to see that level of a performance from the defensive line. And, why Jaelan Phillips feels like the missing piece in the early returns. And then it is on to the MAIN EVENT. Lions coming to the Linc on Sunday Night Football. Why this game would be the most exciting of the year...if Aidan weren't dealing with the Ghosts of Eagles 2023 Past. Tom luckily is able to bring us back on the positive side of the tracks with some insight on the defensive personnel. Seriously though, feels like this could be an awesome game and a game the Eagles offense knows what it needs to DO.Do we have to talk about AJ Brown? I guess we have to talk about AJ Brown. The Philadelphia Phillies are in the midst of their offseason, and there are questions about how this team will look in 2026. What might happen with talent in the outfield? Might the Phillies front office spend big again to keep the team's postseason hopes alive? This week, Tim Kelly from OnPattison.com joined the pod and dove into what we can expect from the Phillies during this offseason and what the future holds for this team. It was a great discussion! But first, the guys dove into some Eagles storylines as this team is 7-2 and atop the NFC. The impact of Jaelan Phillips in his first game as an Eagle, A.J. Brown's recent comments and what he means to this team, Jaire Alexander decides to retire, and an offense that continues to sputter. (Approx. 5:00)From there, they got into their biggest surprises of this Flyers season. (Approx. 18:40)Then they discussed how the Philadelphia Union took care of business against the Chicago Fire in the MLS postseason, and what this team needs to do to beat New York City FC in the Conference Semifinals. (Approx. 25:50)The guys also dove into the gambling scandal that has rocked the baseball world and Cleveland Guardians. (Approx. 33:10)What they threw down on the Table this week was a great conversation with Tim Kelly from On Pattison about how this Phillies offseason may go. How will the front office navigate the offseason? Which players may stay? Which players may go? What kind of Bryce Harper will we see in 2026 as his career has been up and down? Might we see some new pitchers on the staff? All of this and much more this week on the Table! Week 10 of the Philadelphia Eagles 2025-2026 season is now in the books as they beat the Green Bay Packers by a score of 10-7 up at Lambeau Field. In what could have been one of the least offensive inspiring games of the season, this was a win for the Eagles defense. They are now 7-2 on the season and at the top of the NFC East division. The Eagles offense went back to their predictability, which is now a concern, once again, moving forward. The Packers defense knew the snap count. They knew which plays were being run. They made it easy for the Packers defense. Offenses cannot get far in the playoffs running the same kind of plays over and over again. The offensive slog was both the fault of Kevin Patullo AND Nick Sirianni. We've seen this for far too long. Jalen Hurts was off and not playing at a high level this week, and the offensive line played terrible football that adversely impacted the rushing game. The defense was this week's highlight! What a debut game for Jaelan Phillips as he made his presence known coming off the edge. Always getting pressure. He was an overall disturber throughout the game. The linebackers and secondary had a pretty stellar game as well. Credit goes to Vic Fangio who had his defense ready to play this week!As always, we gave our top themes, thoughts and opinions from the game on offense, defense, and special teams, plus we graded each unit to close out the show.SUBSCRIBE on YouTube: youtube.com/@thephiladelphiasportstableHead over to our website for all of our podcasts and more: philadelphiasportstable.comFollow us on BlueSky:Jeff: @jeffwarren.bsky.socialErik: @brickpollitt.bsky.socialFollow us on Threads:Jeff: @mrjeffwarrenErik: @slen1023The Show: @philadelphiasportstableFollow us on Twitter/X:Jeff: @Jeffrey_WarrenErik: @BrickPollittThe Show: @PhiladelphiaPSTFollow us on Instagram:Jeff: @mrjeffwarrenErik: @slen1023The Show: @philadelphiasportstable.Follow Jeff on TikTok: @mrjeffwarrenFollow us on Facebook: facebook.com/PhiladelphiaSportsTable
