Defense jumps routes and takes the ball The Detroit Lions defense seized Day 1 in Allen Park. The first seven-on-seven snap set the tone. Jared Goff tried a short out to Amon-Ra St. Brown. DJ Reed broke it up and put it on the turf. The coverage locked in from there. Reader stayed hip-to-hip on a vertical the next rep and later picked off Teddy Bridgewater by beating the throw to the sideline. Chuck Clark, playing deep middle with Kirby out and Branch sidelined, tracked an overthrown ball from Goff and intercepted it. Undrafted rookie Amaris Brown undercut Luke Altmaier on a Texas route to Jabari Small and ripped the ball away, then sprinted the other direction. Khalil Dorsey and Loren Strickland each dropped would-be interceptions. Trevor Nowaski erased a Bridgewater throw with a full-extension pass breakup. Clark said the defensive backs met to study recent practice film and route concepts. He credited DJ Reed for organizing it. The emphasis was clear: take the ball and do something with it after the catch. Offense snapshots: Jamo, Gibbs, and Meeks at tight end Jameson Williams had a teachable sequence. He dropped a low throw on the move, asked for the same ball, then snatched it out front in stride on the next rep. St. Brown had a mixed day against tight coverage. Greg Corrao flashed rare stop-start quickness and clean hands. His instant change of direction stood out. Jackson Meeks lined up only at tight end and took the No. 2 reps with Sam LaPorta not participating and Tyler Conklin not seen in uniform. Meeks is lighter than Isaac Teslaw but tracked the ball well and finished. Position drills forced receivers to find the ball over the shoulder; Corrao and Meeks handled it smoothly. Jameer Gibbs reminded everyone about NFL speed. He caught a swing, planted, and outran the angle. The burst was startling up close. Fights, fixes, and the trenches A dust-up broke out between Anthony Lucas and Davis Cochran. Ennis Rakestraw stepped in as peacemaker. They went at it again on the next rep before assistant coach Dan Skipper ended it quickly. Earlier, OL coach Hank Fraley joked that Skipper has to remember he can't fight anymore. The sideline timing was perfect. Second-team offensive line notes: Larry Borom at left tackle, Juice Scruggs at left guard, and Seth McLaughlin at center. Tate Ratledge volunteered snaps during a running back drill and looked natural in a pinch. Lacy saw first-team defensive end work opposite Aidan Hutchinson ahead of Martin Turner. Quarterbacks and the red zone hoop Goff, Bridgewater, and Altmaier struggled early on a red zone hoop drill meant to simulate high-point fades. All three missed their first two tries. QB coach Mark Brunell stepped in, demonstrated, and reset the group. Goff then drilled two. Bridgewater hit one of two. Altmaier rattled the rim twice but showed quick correction. Roger McCreery had a rough day carrying crossers and drags. Joe Bachie spiked an Altmaier checkdown with a smart read and well-timed jump. Day 1 of minicamp belonged to the Detroit Lions defensive backs. Day 2 awaits. #detroitlions #lions #detroitlionspodcast #lionsminicamp #gregdortch #djreed #trevornowaske #chuckclark #jamesonwilliams #jahmyrgibbs #jaredgoff #markbrunell Learn more about your ad choices. Final Lions OTAs The final OTA session gave the Detroit Lions a clean snapshot of several live competitions and status updates on some Lions players. One player we're asked about a lot is Giovanni Manu. Dan Campbell confirmed the club is experimenting with Manu at both guard and tackle. The staff needs answers. It is year three, and last season's injury cost Manu valuable reps when Taylor Decker's limited work had opened a window. He is still taking tackle snaps, but guard work is on the table to find his best fit. Miles Frazier stands as direct competition. Frazier arrives more polished technically and with deeper football mileage. On the right edge of the offensive line, Larry Borom took first-team right tackle reps. The Lions drafted Blake Miller in the first round to be the long-term starter, but nothing is being handed out. That is by design. With no pads, trench play is hard to grade, yet stacking reps matters. Borom's NFL experience forces Miller to earn the job and sharpen faster. That is good for the room and for the Detroit Lions. Defensive front: length, rookies, and zero-tech snaps Kelvin Sheppard highlighted a visible shift on the edge. Length. Tall, long bodies across individual periods, blended with shorter power rushers. Undrafted rookie Anthony Lucas drew a mention after wrecking an LSU game in college. Expectations remain high for Derrick Moore, but a former first-round pick is also pushing for those snaps. Nothing is gifted. Tyleik Williams spoke with clarity about the NFL step up. Players are better. Schemes are better. He reshaped his weight and said he will take some zero-technique work. That is a major offseason question with nose tackle duties open after departures. He carried a confident tone and even finished practice wearing a full-length black hoodie in the heat. The Lions will see how it looks when the pads go on. Branch timeline, secondary depth, and DJ Reed's reset Brian Branch was present but not working, and Campbell effectively stretched the public timeline into December. There is no indication he is ahead or behind. It was simply good to see him out there. Meanwhile, Detroit added insulation in the secondary. Ennis Rakestraw added bulk. Roger McCreery arrived as a new nickel option. Thomas Harper is another timely add with ongoing questions about Kirby Joseph. Chuck Clark is in the mix as a physical safety whose game will show more when contact returns. DJ Reed discussed going to Panama for stem cell treatment on a hamstring. Early last season he played well before the injury. On return he struggled, and in OTAs he reportedly got beat again. He is a press corner. Without press in OTAs, that look can be misleading. The flip side is encouraging for the receivers, who are separating downfield. One more snapshot from Allen Park: the offensive line's chemistry. Penei Sewell, Tate Ratledge, Cade Mays, and Christian Mahogany walked out together, laughing. Turkey hunts, group strides, and a tight room. The NFL season is a grind. The Detroit Lions are building for it. #detroitlions #lions #detroitlionspodcast #lionsotas #giovannimanu #milesfrazier #larryborom #blakemiller #derrickmoore #anthonylucas #tyleikwilliams #zerotechnique #brianbranch #ennisrakestraw #rogermccreery #chuckclark #thomasharper #kirbyjoseph #righttacklereps Learn more about your ad choices. Kirby Joseph Timeline Grows Murky The Detroit Lions left Allen Park with a hard truth at safety. Dan Campbell said he does not know when Kirby Joseph will be ready. The staff is strengthening the knee and refusing to rush him. Treatment continues at multiple spots. The real answer will not come until the thick of training camp. That uncertainty hangs over a defense that feeds on takeaways. Joseph has not played in a long time and now sits as a major question mark. In the NFL, losing a ball-hawking back-end anchor changes how everyone fits. Safety Room Competition Heats Up Detroit spent the offseason building insulation for this scenario. Campbell pointed to Chuck Clark and Avonte Maddox as key veterans in the mix. Christian Isian drew praise as a heady, violent player. Branch will take a minute, according to Campbell, but remains central to the back end. Thomas Harper is back. Dan Jackson is coming off injury. Lawrence Strickland is in the room. It is a deeper, more competitive group than a year ago. That matters if Joseph's knee lingers into August. Roles will sort only when the pads go on, but the numbers give Aaron Glenn options the defense lacked last summer. Kendrick Law Out for the Season Rookie wide receiver Kendrick Law tore his ACL in a non-contact injury earlier this week. He will miss his rookie season. It is a tough break for a player trying to win a depth spot. Law was competing with Dominic Lovett and Tom Kennedy on the back end of the receiver room. Kennedy's punt return ability remains a notable edge. The starters are set, and Detroit's expectations should not swing because of this loss. Still, the room loses a different skill set for summer reps, and special teams snaps will shift to others. OTA Snapshot from Allen Park Thursday's open OTAs offered little true football, but the news was significant. The Detroit Lions Podcast focus was clear: health and depth. Campbell emphasized patience with Joseph, repeating that the team has done everything possible without pushing the knee before it is time. Clarity arrives in training camp. Until then, the Lions lean on a reinforced safety group and special teams flexibility at wide receiver. The roster-building approach shows a lesson learned from last year's thin margin at safety. If Joseph returns, the ceiling rises. If not, Detroit's deeper room must carry the back end. #detroitlions #lions #detroitlionspodcast #kerbyjoseph #kendricklaw #dancampbell #allenpark #otas #detroitlionssafetydepth #chuckclark #avontemaddox #christianizien #branch #tyreduplessis #lionsinjuryupdates Learn more about your ad choices. by UFO History Buff & Author, Charles Lear Recently, footage taken of a video that has been described by documentarian James Fox as the holy grail of UFO videos has been shown online. The original video on VHS had been in the possession of one of the early Area 51 researchers, Chuck Clark, since 1995. Clark was reportedly offered a large sum of money to turn over the video, and he refused, whereupon underhanded means were employed to get what was on it out to the public. This story goes all the way back to the 1990s when the United States was in the midst of its own special brand of paranoid UFOlogy, which emphasized government cover-ups and conspiracy theories fueled by the popularity of The X-Files. Area 51 had become the most famous secret base in the world after Bob Lazar, in silhouette using the name “Dennis,” was interviewed by George Knapp on KLAS in Las Vegas in May 1989. He claimed to have worked on reverse-engineering nine recovered alien space craft at a site he said was called “S-4” located in the southern section of Area 51.The excitement stirred up by Lazar's claim resulted in a flood of UFO tourists descending on the area. Many would stop at the only bar in the nearby small town of Rachel, Nevada, a population that usually numbers around 50 people. According to the “Rachel Timeline” section of A Short History of Rachel, Nevada by Glenn Campbell and Edith Grover, Pat and Joe Travis bought the Rachel Bar and Grill in 1988. They renamed it “The Little A'Le'Inn” and held the first annual UFO conference there in July of 1990. Read more →CONTACT AND SUPPORT
What Worries Jeff If the Stars Stay Healthy The Detroit Lions enter 2026 with expectations and scars. Injuries haunted the last two seasons. That remains the existential dread. But on the Detroit Lions Podcast, Jeff set that aside for a day and asked a tougher NFL question. If the core plays most of the year, what could still go wrong? He laid out the premise. The starting secondary gets at least 12 games together. Aidan Hutchinson plays a full season. Jared Goff plays a full season. Amanra maybe misses one game. Penay maybe one. Gibbs is available most weeks. With that health, the worry shifts from luck to execution. Downfield Coverage Can Still Break Cornerback play tops the list. DJ Reed after the hamstring wasn't the same. Terrion Arnold improved, but there is room to climb. Roger McCreery arrives as a new piece. Keith Abney is a favorite pick, yet the NFL put him in the fifth round. Consensus boards loved the value. He still has to cover. Safety helps, if healthy. Kirby has a chip and something to prove. Branch comes back after Germany around Week 11 or Week 12. Chuck Clark brings veteran snaps, though there's concern he's past his prime. Thomas Harper played well last year. Monte Maddox is back. There are enough bodies to function. The issue is downfield coverage. That remains a real concern, even if the pass rush can hide some of it. Pass Rush and Front Must Gel Jeff likes the edge additions for Kelvin Shepherd's defense. DJ one of them was a smart, shrewd move. Derrick Moore should contribute. Hutch is Hutch. All-Pro. Depth and cohesion inside are the bigger questions. Aleem is a good player. Levi, if healthy, is a solid rotational piece. What does the rotation look like? Do they play without a nose tackle? The Romeo Cornell riff on the Bo Parcells front uses two three techniques and no nose. That can work with elite interior disruptors. The Lions still need to show they have that pairing. The front and linebackers must mesh as one six- or seven-man unit. There are many moving parts. Personnel and scheme both in flux. Some concern lingers that it won't click fast enough. The Interior Offensive Line Is in Flux The other major worry lives up front on offense. Cade Mays might not work. Tate Ratledge might not be that guy. Left guard is unsettled. Christian Mahogany was good early last year, then got hurt, and wasn't the same on return, similar to DJ Reed. Penay is moving to the left side. Depending on left guard, there could be four new starters across the line. Call it three and a half at minimum. Jeff is a big Blake Miller fan and doesn't worry about left tackle. But offensive lines win as a five-man unit. The Lions will face diverse fronts. Cohesion must arrive early for this Detroit Lions offense to meet the moment. #detroitlions #lions #detroitlionspodcast #peneisewell #cademays #kelvinsheppard #djwonnum #biggestfears #2026nflseason #jaredgoff #djreed #terrionarnold #injuries #detroitinjurystatus Learn more about your ad choices. In this news update, Andy is joined by Dan to discuss Bob Lazar's return to the headlines, the new S4 documentary, and the fallout from the Chuck Clark footage finally appearing online. They get into whether the film adds anything genuinely new, how Lazar's story has evolved over time, and why the newly surfaced clip has left so many people arguing over what it really shows. Also in this episode: Anna Paulina Luna's request for 46 videos, the latest missing scientist discussion, and Kacey Musgraves' alleged orb sighting.
Did Logan Paul secretly obtain the most compelling UFO footage ever recorded… and show it to Bob Lazar? Ryan breaks down the shocking story behind the Chuck Clark UFO video, a mysterious VHS tape allegedly filmed near Area 51 in the 1990s that has been called the greatest UFO footage ever seen by filmmaker James Fox. From Fox's firsthand account of a glowing, disc-shaped craft hovering just above a car… to Logan Paul reportedly offering $100,000 for the tape, and secretly recording it anyway, this story only gets more bizarre. According to Logan Paul, he's shown the footage to Bob Lazar, who claims the craft behaves exactly like what he encountered at S-4. But is this real evidence… or just another UFO legend? And in a shocking update... THE VIDEO HAS BEEN RELEASED. We feature the Chuck Clark video as seen on American Alchemy w/ Jesse Michaels. Is this the smoking gun of UFO evidence… or just another story lost in the mythos? On the Tuesday edition of the North Shore Drive podcast, presented by FanDuel, host Adam Bittner welcomes Post-Gazette Steelers insider Ray Fittipaldo to analyze which pending free agents GM Omar Khan and new coach Mike McCarthy may want to keep for 2026. Will Kenneth Gainwell be the top priority? How much might it cost to keep him in the backfield next to Jaylen Warren and Kaleb Johnson? How closely aligned will he be with Aaron Rodgers' future? And what are the options at guard with Isaac Seumalo and the guard position? Is there still a chance he could return next to younger teammates like Broderick Jones, Mason McCormick, Zach Frazier and Troy Fautanu? Could he be replaced in free agency of the NFL draft? Or is Spencer Anderson the obvious heir to Seumalo's starting spot? Our duo tackles those questions, then ponders the future of other noteworthy free agents including Kyle Dugger, Cole Holcomb, Daniel Ekuale, Dean Lowry, Isaiahh Loudermilk, Chuck Clark, Jabrill Peppers, James Pierre and Asante Samuel Jr. on defense. Andrus Peat, Scotty Miller, Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Calvin Austin III and Connor Heyward on offense. And Miles Killebrew on special teams. Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. On the Wednesday episode of the North Shore Drive podcast, presented by FanDuel and Edgar Snyder & Associates, host Adam Bittner welcomes Post-Gazette Steelers insider Christopher Carter to analyze the NFL draft QB class following Chris's trip to the Senior Bowl last week. How does the Steelers' Will Howard compare to guys expected to be available on Days 2 and 3? Is he clearly a better option than names like Garrett Nussmeier, Drew Allar, Cade Klubnik, Carson Beck, Sawyer Robertson and others? Or could one of those guys offer value over him as he competes with Mason Rudolph and -- possibly -- Aaron Rodgers for positioning on new coach Mike McCarthy's depth chart? Where's the ideal spot on the depth chart for Howard if GM Omar Khan gets his offseason moves right? And why do so many fans have such resolute faith in the former sixth-round pick? Our duo tackles those questions and more. Our duo tackles those questions, then ponders Khan's trade options this offseason. How seriously should he consider moving on from Jalen Ramsey, given the corner/safety's hefty cap hit? Is he worthy of making the money Minkah Fitzpatrick did at the position? Could the team get by with names like DeShon Elliott, Chuck Clark, Jabrill Peppers and Kyle Dugger in that spot? Or should it consider drafting a safety like Caleb Downs or Bud Clark to fill the void at a cheaper price? The later, the guys ponder how to handle the Steelers' array of draft picks. Should Khan hold onto all 12 with the goal of building his team's depth? Or should he trade up, even if it's not for a QB? Knowing that it's unlikely he could keep all of the picks on the 53-man roster and that impact talents like USC's Makai Lemon at WR could be available? Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. On the Wednesday episode of the North Shore Drive podcast, presented by FanDuel and Edgar Snyder & Associates, host Adam Bittner welcomes Post-Gazette Steelers insider Christopher Carter to discuss Joey Porter Jr.'s value at cornerback Did his efforts on a busy day against Jared Goff, Jameson Williams, Amon-Ra St. Brown and the dangerous Detroit Lions offense show that he's one of the most important pieces on defense? Should his re-signing be a top offseason priority for coach Mike Tomlin and GM Omar Khan? And how does he rank in a loaded 2023 draft class that includes contributors like Nick Herbig, Broderick Jones, Darnell Washington and Keeanu Benton? Our duo tackles those questions; the performance of other secondary members including Jalen Ramsey, Chuck Clark and Brandin Echols; and OC Arthur Smith's receiving options amid WR DK Metcalf's suspension. Are Adam Thielen, Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Pat Freiermuth, Jaylen Warren and Kenneth Gainwell prepared to step up? Or will life be tougher for them without Metcalf to challenge defenses? In this episode of HappyCast, we dive into a full, emotional, hilarious, and raw recap of the Fall Creek 100 in Tennessee — a race filled with waterfalls, scenic ridges, surprise proposals, mud, and a whole lot of internal battles. Stephanie is joined by Chuck Clark, who shared most of the 100 miles with her, and Race Director Scott Simcox, the creative mind behind the Fall Creek, Long Hunter, and Rim Runner races. Scott walks us through how he designs courses with intention: showcasing every overlook, waterfall, bridge, and scenic loop the park has to offer. We also learn about his volunteer-first family culture, the impact of tornado damage on trail systems, and why Fall Creek's dorm setup might be one of the best race perks out there.Stephanie opens up about her toughest mental race to date — calling her mom at mile 30 in tears, dealing with self-doubt from previous DNFs, navigating humidity and trail math, and experiencing her first mid-race panic attack. Chuck shares how he tried (unsuccessfully) to medicate her attitude with potatoes for 12 straight hours, why they thought they were on the verge of missing cutoffs, and how a simple reminder — “You stack these because you know you can finish them” — helped shift the energy. We also talk crew magic, Peg's legendary road-trip rescue, Kevin's 50K-plus pacing effort, Mo's volunteer hero arc, and the incredible Tennessee trail community that kept runners fed, supported, and cheerful through every loop. It's emotional. It's chaotic. It's honest. On the Wednesday edition of the North Shore Drive podcast, presented by Edgar Snyder & Associates, host Adam Bittner welcomes Post-Gazette Steelers insiders Christipher Carter to assess the team's line play in NFL Week 1 against the New York Jets. Is it too soon to panic about Broderick Jones after he gave up three sacks? Or is he a valid concern for coach Mike Tomlin and OC Arthur Smith? Do teammates Troy Fautanu, Mason McCormick, Isaac Seumalo and Zach Frazier deserve more credit than they've received for limiting pressure? And how much blame does QB Aaron Rodgers deserve for taking four sacks in the contest? Our duo tackles those questions and more. Including: What should we make of the team's plans at safety now that DeShon Elliott is hurt and Jabrill Peppers has been signed to play alongside Chuck Clark and Juan Thornhill? Is Keeanu Benton the defensive lineman who most needs to improve in coming weeks? What kind of difference can a healthy Derrick Harmon make for the defensive line? And what happens if Cam Heyward is merely a good player and no longer an All-Pro type at the end spot?
Hour 3 with Dorin Dickerson and Adam Crowley: Jabrill Peppers is still a good run defender and Ray Fittipaldo thinks Chuck Clark will start after playing well. The Jets ran away from T.J. Watt almost all game. Cam Heyward didn't get off blocks, no one did on the line.Dorin thinks it's crushing for some WVU fans to have to live with 13-9 he genuinely feels bad. Mike Tomlin said Keeanu Benton has room for improvement.

In this clip from the Thursday episode of the North Shore Drive podcast, presented by Edgar Snyder & Associates, host Adam Bittner welcomes Post-Gazette insider Christopher Carter to analyze the Steelers' depth at safety after roster cut down day. Do GM Omar Khan and coach Mike Tomlin have enough depth at the position, with only DeShon Elliott, Juan Thornhill and Chuck Clark manning it moving forward? Is the Minkah Fitzpatrick trade for Jalen Ramsey a signal they they believe they can find useful players at safety even in the event of injury? How does Ramsey figure into the safety situation, if at all? And how should we feel about the overall secondary that also includes names like Joey Porter Jr. and Darius Slay Jr.? Our duo tackles those questions and more.
On his weekly Chipped Ham & Football podcast, Post-Gazette insider Brian Batko welcomes KDKA-TV sports reporter Rich Walsh to react to the Steelers' final roster cuts down to their 53-man roster for NFL Week 1. Is it bad news for Mason Rudolph that Skylar Thompson earned the No. 3 job over Will Howard? Could he challenge Rudolph for the No. 2 role behind Aaron Rodgers? Was the release of RB Trey Sermon a good sign for rookie Kaleb Johnson as he looks to find his way in a backfield with Jaylen Warren and Kenneth Gainwell? And who were the biggest surprise cuts from coach Mike Tomlin and GM Omar Khan? Does the list include Robert Woods, Chuck Clark or James Pierre? Our duo tackles those questions and more.
In this episode, we discuss the reports emerging from the Steelers' training camp. We are introducing a new segment from D Studs or Duds so far in training camp. We discuss the Steelers' addition of Chuck Clark from free agency. We have some FU E Trivia brought to you by our sponsor Agent Hendo. We discussed E hold in the podcast, looking for a new podcast deal. We dedicate the podcast to Cruz Campos, who just graduated from UCF. Please email the show at @steelersfanaticaluniverse@gmail.com
Steelers correspondent Mark Kaboly from The Pat McAfee Show joined the show. Mark doesn't believe that Mullsy made 9 straight threes in a pickup game. The guys bring up Mark's controversial comment on the Mcafee show about throwing toilet paper away. Mark said they were just wipes. Mark says it is very unlikely that the Steelers would trade for Terry Mclaurin. Apparently, the Steelers have the second best odds to trade for Micah Parsons. More w/ Mark – The consensus is that Rodgers had his best practice as a Steeler yesterday. Kaboly says that he was getting his best protection yet yesterday. He also says that the offense was terrible on Wednesday and was probably motivated to bounce back. Broderick Jones is currently hurt and has not been on the field. Mark finds it hard to believe that Broderick will get benched this season because the options behind him are not good. Fans were excited whenever Aaron Rodgers completed a pass over the middle of the field. Kaboly says that Payton Wilson has taken it to the next level in training camp so far. He also expects a positional battle between Juan Thornhill and Chuck Clark. More w/ Mark – Mark says that Will Howard looks better than what a 6th round QB should look like in his first camp. He says the Steelers think they got a steal, but not a ridiculous one. Mason Rudolph knows that he's not the starter, but he knows that he has to be ready if needed and ready to win. Mark says that Will Howard is very smart. The guys discuss where Ben Roethlisberger ranks all time.
Pump your brakes and hard stop with Tate, Shannon & Big-G. On tonight's episode we'll talk Tuesday & Wednesday first two days in pads, the signing of safety Chuck Clark and the release of Cordarrelle Patterson. Is it too soon to worry about OC Arthur Smith's offense after some inconsistency show in practice? Or is there valid reason for concern that QB Aaron Rodgers can get the most out of playmakers including Jaylen Warren, DK Metcalf, Pat Freiermuth and Calvin Austin III? What should we make of the signing of Chuck Clark, as he joins the secondary alongside names like Darius Slay Jr., Joey Porter Jr. and Jalen Ramsey? And what should we watch for as padded practices begin Tuesday? Paul tackles those questions, plus the latest Pirates chatter as the MLB trade deadline looms later in the week.
BREAKING: The Steelers have signed Chuck Clark. The former Ravens safety likely won't move the needle much, if at all. One of Clark's notable games came against the Steelers in that COVID season when the game was played on a Wednesday afternoon. Clark said he was ready to move on from Baltimore, which is always a way to get in good standing with Steelers fans. We reminisced about the Steelers wasting a pick on a long snapper in the 2017 draft.
The Steelers still have a problem at WR2, yet their latest addition is Chuck Clark. The Yankees traded for Ryan Mcmahon, meaning that the Pirates may not trade Ke'Bryan Hayes.
Nick Farabaugh breaks down the Steelers' signing of Chuck Clark and what the safety can bring to the defense, and recaps the second day of training. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
In this episode of HappyCast, we welcome ultra runners Chuck Clark and Ben Bridgeman to recount their epic (and sometimes disastrous) attempt at running two brutal 100-mile races just two weeks apart: Outlaw 100 and Lovit 100. What started as a simple challenge turned into a saga of icy wipeouts, brutal climbs, poor life choices, and a whole lot of stubbornness. From navigating Jeep roads littered with boulders at Outlaw to dealing with a brand-new course layout at Lovit, the guys break down the highs, the lows, and everything in between—including the moment when Ben took an all-time classic fall that had his friends doubled over in laughter. With course changes, extreme conditions, and the mental battle of pushing through back-to-back races, Chuck and Ben share their strategies (and mistakes) in managing fatigue, staying fueled, and making sure they crossed the finish line. Along the way, they discuss why pacing each other sometimes feels more like a competition than teamwork, why the smallest aid station breaks can kill your race time, and what it's like watching your friend's race completely fall apart in real-time.Plus, we debate the age-old ultra-running question: Is it better to go out fast or play it safe? And, of course, no episode is complete without some well-earned roasting, a look ahead at future races, and the latest Can't Let It Go segment. Tune in for an episode filled with laughs, lessons, and the kind of suffering only ultra-runners willingly sign up for!Be sure to subscribe to the podcast wherever you listen, and we always appreciate you leaving a good rate and review. Hour 2: The story-at-sea everyone around the country has been following all week had an unfortunate ending on Thursday. Boomer & Gio discuss the known safety issues, how the government knew for days nobody survived and debate if going down in a sub is safer than traveling in one of Elon Musk's rockets. Then they wonder what the betting lines are for the potential Elon Musk vs. Mark Zuckerberg fight. Despite Musk's size advantage, Boomer and Gio agree Zuckerberg has a shot. Jerry returns for an update but first Boomer breaks down the Musk vs Zuckerberg fight even more, Jerry mentions Jay Glazer's stem cell treatment and the guys remember athletes who went overseas for surgery. Domingo German had an awful start and the Yankees lost 10-2. Boomer wants to know how long the Yankees will keep trotting Josh Donaldson out. Gio guesses for a long time and Aaron Boone seemingly agrees. Boone said Donaldson almost hit a ball well last night. The Mets were off but the catcher they cut, Gary Sanchez, hit another HR. The Rays benched Wander Franco and Victor Wembanyama is officially a member of the San Antonio Spurs. The Thompson twins were taken back-to-back in the top 5 and Jets safety Chuck Clark did tear his ACL. In the final segment of the hour, Boomer asks what the Mets need to do in their 16 games before the All-Star break in order to hook us all back in. Boomer will take 11-5 to get the team to .500 but Gio wants more. Gio doesn't want to be stuck watching the Mets on national TV broadcasts this weekend and might have other plans.
Hour 1: After acknowledging the unfortunate update regarding the people lost at sea while searching for the Titanic, Gio deals with a hair problem and then has Boomer guess what happened to Jerry's face. Jerry took a golf ball off a tree to the face yesterday and has a few stitches. Gio realizes these topics are not fitting for a Feel Good Friday so Boomer tries to cheer everyone up. Gio remembers feeling powerful yesterday because of a few text messages from people in the industry. Gio purposely ignored last night's Yankees game in order to keep everyone in a good mood. Before Jerry begins his first update, Boomer asks him to explain what happened to his face. Jerry went golfing with his father and two sons and hit a golf ball into a tree. The ball came right back to whack him in the face. Some blood and a few stitches later, Jerry is back to work with blood-stained sneakers. Boomer thinks Jerry should have finished all 18 holes. An eye-witness at the scene calls in to share his account of what happened. We also hear from a pilot who actually did lose an eye on the golf course but got something good out of the ordeal. Jerry tells us the Yankees lost and the NBA draft was last night. In the final segment of the hour, a caller asks after John Sterling and Jerry took balls to the face, since these things happen in threes, who at WFAN is next and what kind of object will nail them? Hour 2: The story-at-sea everyone around the country has been following all week had an unfortunate ending on Thursday. Boomer & Gio discuss the known safety issues, how the government knew for days nobody survived and debate if going down in a sub is safer than traveling in one of Elon Musk's rockets. Boomer will take 11-5 to get the team to .500 but Gio wants more. Gio doesn't want to be stuck watching the Mets on national TV broadcasts this weekend and might have other plans. Hour 3: Boomer asks Gio what he expects from the Yankees in their 16 games before the break. Gio says it does not sound like Aaron Judge expects to be back on the field anytime soon. Boomer has higher expectations for the Yankees in the next 16 games. Gio says it's acceptable for the team to simply tread water without Judge. The guys agree Josh Donaldson simply should not be out there everyday anymore. Gio's hair is still a problem two hours later. What is acceptable work attire? Boomer revisits the picture of the new afternoon show and wonders if DA has calmed down? Jerry returns for an update but first we wonder how things would break down at the station if something happened to Jerry. The Mets will play the Phillies in London next June. Jerry has audio from the Mariners blowout win over Domingo German and the Yankees. Was something wrong with German or do guys simply just have bad nights? Nationals manager Davey Martinez had an old-fashioned meltdown after getting ejected. Were the Knicks even at the draft last night? In the final segment of the hour, Gio shares a statement from OceanGate about what happened to their vessel. We hear from one caller who was hit in the face on a golf course twice in two months, one caller who was inspired by the show to think about death and a scuba diver who says the submersible tragedy was easily avoidable. Hour 4: Should the Knicks be interested in trading for Paul George or Zion Williamson? Gio would love to see them end up with Damian Lillard but doesn't think it will happen. Boomer thinks Paul George is a reasonable target. Last year we knew the Knicks wanted Jalen Brunson but this offseason we have no idea who they have their eyes on. Jerry returns for an update but first Gio points out that today is the last day of school in New York and teachers celebrate in style. The Yankees had a rough go of it Thursday night against the Mariners. They still won the series. The Mets will play the Phillies in Philadelphia tonight and in London next season. Gio does not understand the appeal of traveling to London to see the Mets. Gio shares a very recent hotel experience. Then Jerry shares a Moment of the Day that his golf incident inspired. In the final segment of the show, the Moose is here! Marc Malusis is in the building and pays a visit.
