FOOD: a four-letter word? It was to us. An emotional, social, political, cultural, and nutritional menace. Add to that a heaping dose of personal bias, ideology, morality, philosophy, even identity, and you've got a plateful of $?#!. If, like us, you've tried everything, it's time to see food for what it truly is: a powerful influencer of a single hormone that impacts health far more than what's on the plate.
Suppressing the Storm Within. Sounds a bit dramatic, huh? I would have thought so too, ten years ago. But I know better now. Any of us grappling with our own personal health chaos (stubborn weight, incessant cravings, chronic pain, cancer, diabetes, heart disease, auto-immune conditions, etc...) know that it can feel like a storm within us or within someone we love. Insulin. It impacts every one of us. And suppressing insulin, rather than stimulating insulin, is key to ending your storm once and for all.
In their inaugural episode of The Insulin Suppression Podcast, SHIFT Formula founders Barbara & Charlie McDermott share their personal journey from Hopeless to HEALED. It was a painfully, frustrating six years full of false hopes and many dead ends. But through Barbara’s intense research and their daughter Erin’s willingness to try just about every possible solution under the sun, on August 26, 2013 at 8:26AM they found what they had been seeking. With one success story after another, it soon became clear to the McDermott’s that this Insulin Suppression Lifestyle needed to get out into the world.
