Today was my first day back at work since the operating restrictions have been reduced. I’m so glad to be back doing what I love- looking after patients and hanging out with my theatre teams. So what does that mean for the podcast?Firstly I want to say a big thank you to all my listeners. I won’t be putting out 4 episodes a week as I have been for the past 3 weeks but you can expect even higher quality content in the future.Because of your support I’m now able to invite higher profile guests. I never thought that my little podcast made on a set of gaming headphones and edited on Garageband would reach so many people. We are about to hit 10,000 downloads. Those of you who have emailed me, liked and commented on my Facebook posts and shared episodes with your friends have really kept me pushing ahead and creating the content I hope you find useful. My goal for this podcast has always been to educate and empower doctors to make better financial decisions. I have my financial planning diploma, but I’m no expert, and neither am I financially free. What I am doing is learning from experts and sharing that knowledge with you. You can think of me like a senior med student who understands the system, they can’t actually treat patients, but they know where to look for help. The upcoming episodes will build on the “5 Pillars of Personal Finance” that I covered in episode 10. It’s my holistic approach to money. The 5 pillars has 2 defensive and 3 offensive moves. We covered the defensive moves with wills in episode 13 and personal insurance in episodes 14a and b.Now we can focus on the offensive moves- income, investments and independence or financial freedom. So get ready to dig deep into shares, real estate, venture capital and other cool stuff.I’m waiting for my first hater but I know that if I stay true to my goal of helping you guys stay ahead in the money game, I’ll be able to sleep well at night.Between episodes you can check out the blog at medicalmoney.com where you will find the show notes and some of my random thoughts. As you all know I’m a Swiftie so I’ll finish with a quote from Taylor herself“No matter what happens in life, be good to people. Being good to people is a wonderful legacy to leave behind”Thanks again. Stay safe and send me an email if you’d like to connect.
