In this episode I speak with Sam Mefford who volunteered to participate in my first interview ever with a Trump supporter (I'm not one:) Sam was raised in California, but now lives in Utah and I actually think that comes across in the thoughtful and holistic way he contemplates everything.  I wanted to do an episode with him to demonstrate that some of the people who voted for President Trump are actually good people who want what is best for our country, contrary to what many Democrats believe. In our conversation we use a facebook thread, where he shared his points of view  about many topics, as the foundation of our interview. We discussed the divisiveness in our country, whether or not respecting our president is mandatory, the dismantling of so many programs, gay rights, transgender, the importance of not letting politics ruin personal relationships, and the need to regulate our nervous systems so we can be more thoughtful and responsive instead of triggered and reactive. I'm really proud of myself for doing this interview. I have come a long way in learning how to  regulate my nervous system around politics and being able to have conversations with people who may not share the same beliefs as my own. In addition, we broke down what went well and what was problematic with evacuations and even give some tips on preparing for the possibility of fires if you live in an area that is at risk.  I invited Kirsten to share her story on the podcast because I wanted to hear her account of the PP Fire, so that she can begin to make some sense out of all of it and process the magnitude of emotions she is experiencing as a result of it. It really takes a lot of courage to come on the podcast to share a story as painful as this one so kudos to Kirsten for her willingness to do that! Click on the platform of your choice to listen to the latest podcast episode, follow the podcast, and write a review so we can spread the news and reach more people! Apple Podcastshttps://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-power-of-community-collaboration-in-sb-podcast/id1548758744Spotifyhttps://open.spotify.com/show/4RWxW7Ni1EHTAywriOwY9z?si=d9c181834529414dGoogle Podcasts https://podcasts.google.com/search/The%20Brain%20BS%20PodcastAmazon Music https://music.amazon.com/podcasts/09208f98-6c21-4fea-abbf-14a495cabd09/the-brain-bs-podcast-learning-to-live-consciouslyI Heart Radiohttps://www.iheart.com/podcast/269-the-brain-bs-podcast-learn-76710324/Pandorahttps://www.pandora.com/podcast/the-brain-bs-podcast-learning-to-live-consciously/PC:60845It is so beneficial when we speak our truth to those around us, so that we can all support one another. That is the only way we are able to experience the amazing power of community and collaboration!  If you want to get in touch with me or connect to get creative about a collaboration, click on the link below.https://www.thebrainbs.com/

In this episode, I speak with my friend Bob Malatesta about the term scarcity and how it has impacted his life. Scarcity makes you feel like there is not enough, that you have to compete to get what you want, that there isn't plenty enough pie to go around for everybody. It tends to put you in a self-centered place of fear and wanting to control the people around you, so you can ensure your needs are met. The opposite of scarcity is abundance and we talk about that too.Bob and I met at a Newcomer event and had a brief conversation about scarcity. That conversation changed his life in dramatic ways at the age of 68. We talk about the Brain BS around death and how choosing to live consciously can improve the way we die for ourselves and the loved ones we leave behind.Stacy shares her personal journey that has led to her most recently focusing on death and grief in her work. The message she is promoting is so important and something we all need to be thinking about. If there is one thing we know for sure, none of us are making it out of here alive. So instead of avoiding the subject of death, we might want to consider slowly beginning to prepare emotionally and mentally for it. Just throwing that out there! In this episode, I speak with my good friend Lee Lopez about her experience preparing her only daughter for college, how it was dropping her off,  and how she is doing with the empty nest now. I love this episode because Lee is totally honest and transparent about all of the emotions that came up for her. We discuss how Brain BS can impact a relationship between a child and their parents when big milestones and stressful life changes are about to take place. If anybody else would like to come on the podcast to talk about the empty nest or anything else related to your children, I would love the opportunity! Parenting can be very challenging and so can being the son or daughter of a parent who places all their expectations on you... so there is a lot to discuss! I would really like to talk to somebody who is estranged from a parent or a child so we can explore all the Brain BS that comes up with that. You can count on me to have your back and provide a safe space where you can feel emotionally safe to share with me. I also want to add that I would never publish a podcast if somebody's nervous system could not handle being seen and heard in such a vulnerable way. I commit to that because I think the more we talk about all of this, the more we realize we are all so much more alike than different. You might think you are the only one who is having issues with your relationships, but I promise you that is Brain BS! Click on the platform of your choice to listen to the latest podcast episode with Lee, follow the podcast, and write a review so we can spread the news and reach more people!Apple Podcastshttps://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-power-of-community-collaboration-in-sb-podcast/id1548758744Spotify https://open.spotify.com/show/4RWxW7Ni1EHTAywriOwY9z?si=d9c181834529414dGoogle Podcastshttps://podcasts.google.com/search/The%20Brain%20BS%20PodcastAmazon Musichttps://music.amazon.com/podcasts/09208f98-6c21-4fea-abbf-14a495cabd09/the-brain-bs-podcast-learning-to-live-consciouslyI Heart Radiohttps://www.iheart.com/podcast/269-the-brain-bs-podcast-learn-76710324/Pandorahttps://www.pandora.com/podcast/the-brain-bs-podcast-learning-to-live-consciously/PC:60845Every milestone in life comes with Brain BS and adjusting to the empty nest is no exception. In this episode I share with you why leadership energy is so important and the positive ripple effect it can have when you are living in it. The reason why I wanted to do this is because I sometimes think people believe that leadership energy comes from a role assigned to them and applies to a certain group following them. I am suggesting that leadership energy is within us and always accessible whenever we choose to tap into it, and the whole world can benefit from it when we choose to do that.I am publishing the episode a day early this week, because I am hosting a local and free event  tomorrow (Wed) evening at La Lieff Winery called Step Into Your Leadership Energy in Preparation for the Upcoming Election.  Here is the link if you want to check it out.https://www.thebrainbs.com/event-details/step-into-your-leadership-energy-in-preparation-for-the-upcoming-electionI wanted to give people a heads up about it in case they wanna join me and other like-minded people who want to take back their personal power and live in a unified nation where we respect and accept one another even if we have different beliefs.Click on the platform of your choice to listen to the latest podcast episode with yours truly, follow the podcast, and write a review so we can spread the news and reach more people!Apple Podcastshttps://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-power-of-community-collaboration-in-sb-podcast/id1548758744Spotify https://open.spotify.com/show/4RWxW7Ni1EHTAywriOwY9z?si=d9c181834529414dGoogle Podcastshttps://podcasts.google.com/search/The%20Brain%20BS%20PodcastAmazon Musichttps://music.amazon.com/podcasts/09208f98-6c21-4fea-abbf-14a495cabd09/the-brain-bs-podcast-learning-to-live-consciouslyI Heart Radiohttps://www.iheart.com/podcast/269-the-brain-bs-podcast-learn-76710324/Pandorahttps://www.pandora.com/podcast/the-brain-bs-podcast-learning-to-live-consciously/PC:60845In my opinion, leadership energy is how we share our gifts with our community so that we can have an amazing ripple effect on everybody around us.Otherwise, we believe we are the mercy of what is going on around us and that can be discouraging and disempowering. So if you are worried about your candidate losing the election and dwelling in negativity over politics and the current state of the world, you definitely want to take time to listen to this episode. To be clear, we are not talking about politics here. I am inspiring you to approach all of it from the power of community and collaboration and to step into leadership energy to have a ripple effect on the people around you.I am not talking about trying to get other people to change their points of view and being angry with them because they won't.Click on the platform of your choice to listen to the latest podcast episode, follow the podcast, and write a review so we can spread the news and reach more people!  Apple Podcasts https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-power-of-community-collaboration-in-sb-podcast/id1548758744Spotify https://open.spotify.com/show/4RWxW7Ni1EHTAywriOwY9z?si=d9c181834529414dGoogle Podcasts https://podcasts.google.com/search/The%20Brain%20BS%20PodcastAmazon Music https://music.amazon.com/podcasts/09208f98-6c21-4fea-abbf-14a495cabd09/the-brain-bs-podcast-learning-to-live-consciouslyI Heart Radiohttps://www.iheart.com/podcast/269-the-brain-bs-podcast-learn-76710324/Pandorahttps://www.pandora.com/podcast/the-brain-bs-podcast-learning-to-live-consciously/PC:60845  If you want to get in touch with me or connect to get creative about a collaboration, click on the link below.https://www.thebrainbs.com/
