In this episode I speak with the lead singer of Billy Nation, which is a Billy Joel Tribute band. I came across Adam Shapiro when he performed with his band at the Lobero. There were a lot of empty seats in the theater and it got me thinking about all the Brain BS that must come with being a performer. So I looked for him after the show and invited him to come on the podcast to be interviewed. It was so fun to talk to Adam because he was willing to be honest and vulnerable. He reminded me how much courage it takes to put yourself out there in the world and just how uncomfortable it can be. So if you are thinking about doing something new, but it's just too scary for you, listen to this episode and see how Adam and I both deal with cultivating a nervous system that can support being seen and heard. If you want to learn more about Adam or Billy Nation, click on the links below.adam@billynationtribute.comhttps://billynationtribute.com/Facebook: https://facebook.com/billynationtributeInstagram: https://instagram.com/billynationtributeYouTube: https://youtube.com/@billynationtributeClick on the platform of your choice to listen to the latest podcast episode with Adam, follow the podcast, and write a review so we can spread the news and reach more people! On this edition of Free City Radio we hear about Resistencia publishing in Mexico City from Josefina Larragoiti. A publishing press focused on lifting up Indigenous languages within the Americas, particularly in Mexico, but also beyond. The publishing house publishes many children books that share stories of Indigenous culture, heritage and language. This is an important project in the current context of ongoing territorial plunder in many Indigenous lands particularly unleashed in the context of corporations seeking the resources in unceded Indigenous lands.
