In this episode we talk to Tarik Dervish, BA Hons in Ayurveda. Since 2001 he has been running workshops and courses in Yoga with Ayurvedic approach and is the author of the cook Ayurveda in Yoga Teaching. We discussed a specific part of Ayurveda called the Pancha Koshas, also known as the 5 sheaths or the 5 approaches to purifying the body. He walked us through each level, understanding how to recognize when you are 'in one' and how to be aware of mindfully moving through the different layers. When we learn how to mindfully move through these sheaths, it give us a more purposeful life and strong sense of self and connection. In this episode Sarah and Kat reflect on the week long "Wake-Up" meditation retreat that Kat participated in at Plum Village in early July at the Plum Village Mindfulness Training Center in the South of France. Plum Village is the largest international practice center in the Plum Village (Zen Buddhism) tradition, and the first monastic community founded by Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh (Thay). The "Wake-Up" Retreat is for young (18-35yo) mindfulness practitioners. Thich Nhat Hanh is a global spiritual leader poet and peace activist, revered around the world for his pioneering teachings on mindfulness, global ethics and peace. In this episode we talk to Luke Phillips, owner of Into Coffee and Into Carry. Luke is an industrial designer who had an 'environmental awakening' and realised the way we make things is broken. He now runs a sustainable carry wear brand called Into Carry and a zero waste coffee shop called Into Coffee in Collingwood, Melbourne. His mission is to change relationships with material resources. This means rethinking how we make, use and dispose of materials, but also how we treat, perceive and value them.
